They hit my neighborhood hard just over a year ago and they are aggressive . I told them no Multiple times. I said I wanted a system to directly store my solar power so the next Sandy my family wouldn’t endure that nightmare again. All their rep did was tell me no I didn’t want that. It was too expensive. Every time I was outside and they were around they’d stop & try me again. It got so bad I cringed every time I saw one of those orange cars. Thank god they finished their installations after a few months and left the area!

I had discussed with one of the sales rep (won't mention name here) and we had discussed a number of options. I was told I would be called back on a certain date and time. Call never came. Also, after doing research with other solar companies, turned out Sungevity wasn't even remotely giving a competitive bid. With so many other solar companies out there (many who have been around >10 years), I figured I'll skip Sungevity.

The quote was 15,000 more than other companies so I said that was high and he said we want your business so I will talk to my boss so he came back with a 3,000 discount but I only had three days to decide or the discount would go away. Just like a car salesman. Well I didn’t think that was such a great deal so I walked. I don’t do business like that. Matter of fact if they wanted to give me solar for free I wouldn’t take it.

Please, take my advice and DON’T have anything to do with this TERIBLE company. For almost 2 years I have try to communicate with them WITHOUT success. After we pay them close to $ 20,000 for solar panels, they declared bankruptcy. After that our metering stop working and we have no idea, how much power we generating. Sungevity won’t answer phones and/or won’t return message. Several emails are left without answers. AS SOON AS YOU PAY THEM, THEY FORGET OBOUT YOU. Go to some other reputable company and save yourself the lot of troubles.

I was called back by Solar Spectrum, because Sungevity went into bankruptcy. Past Sungevity clients says they cannot get service. Their warranties are worthless. Solar Spectrum took over using the Sungevity panels, but not warranty any responsibility. Solar Spectrum is a national Solar company that uses local installation companies. They made me a proposal but they could not guarantee the local installers will continue with them to honor the warranties. So, I would stay away from Sungevity and Solar Spectrum.

I have a Sungevity solar system that was install 6 yrs ago. I am now trying to get it serviced because the yield of power it is generating is dropping. I have tried SEVERAL times to get a response from the company and now one will reply. I have a friend that got Sungevity Solar about the saem time and he is having a Similar problem ( no one will reply to his request for service). SO if you are looking for a company that will support you after the sale..... It does not look like Solar Spectrum or Sungevity are the company you want to do business with.........

Since the beginning of my relationship with Sungevity (3 or so years ago), they have gone bankrupt, merged, unmerged, and now are Sungevity again I guess. They do not reply to emails any more. The app is broken. The website is broken. I can't log into my dashboard any more. My lifetime warranty was dissolved after the first bankruptcy. Do not use this company. Go through an independent contractor and buy the parts yourself instead. They offer nothing except hassle.

Sungevity went bankrupt and to our dismay as done so more than once, to my understanding. They have left all of us dangling and bouncing from this to that company. We don't have enough panels to even consider solar a money saver and now we have no idea how to remedy our situation. They are huge frauds in my opinion. They'll say anything and drown you in contracts with lots of legaleaze and tell you what you want to hear.

#1 the sales team is poorly trained. I asked what the manufacturers warranty was and the salesperson said 25 years but he did not know what it covered. So he put his manager on the phone and he pretended like he did not know what my question was. This company only sells the product and they only use sub contractors. I was not happy with how I was treated.

Solar Spectrum didn't keep their words. Solar Spectrum and I have worked hard for couple weeks to get a final contract. Solar Spectrum start their work by sending a technician to inspect my house. After on side inspection, the sale person informed me that they could not build a system with a price as in the contract. The new price was 5K higher than the original price.

I feel that I was pressured into moving forward with signing what appeared to me to be a binding contract without a full and detailed quote. We had one, hour-long online presentation and based solely on this I was asked to sign a contract for almost $40,000 worth of equipment. My sales rep claims this was non-binding but who am I to believe? You are the ONLY company that required I sign a contract without a written quote. Not good. Also, while the sales rep. was pleasant (and persistent), I was not comfortable dealing with someone across the country and not a local company.

Solar Spectrum took over support for my Sungevity solar system. My system has stopped reporting data over two months ago. It is impossible to contact Solar Spectrum on the phone and they have not responded to the electronic case I opened. I have reported them to the CA Consumer Affairs department. Buyer beware, if you buy from them they may not support you!

Don't trust the sales representatives of Horizon Solar. The sales representative underestimated our power usage and we are getting billed at the end of the year for power not covered by the solar panels. We trusted the sales representative and the company's response was read the fine print of the contract that they don't guarantee their estimates of number of panels will cover usage. Sales rep didn't tell us that, he actually said we would be getting a refund. I paid over $34,000 for a system that doesn't cover my usage - bad company, friendly but apparently bad sales reps.

Wish we had looked at the Yelp reviews before doing business with these people! Everyone is reporting the same lack of customer support and non- response to emails or phone calls!!! RUN! They seemed like they were flying by the seat of their pants. The person who answered the phone was constantly checking over his shoulder to someone about answers. When I told him the type of material for my roof he paused for 10 seconds then said they could not help me. I ended up with another solution so I know my roof supports pannels.
