Poor customer service once the system is up and running. I called customer service when I noticed that I was still pulling power from the grid even when I had plenty of battery. They said someone would contact me and come out and check it out. Not almost 2 weeks and no call. Still buying power from Hawaii Electric needlessly and paying for lease.

Thank you, Keith, for sharing your concerns. I see you've had contact with Sunrun June 20th. We reached out to the field service coordinator for an update in regards to your locus meter. You will be contacted once we have an update for you. Thank you for the continued patience, we understand service issues are frustration. Feel free to private message us with any question.

The only trouble I am having with Sunrun is I am now paying more for my electricity now that before solar power. Talk to they sale person when I bought this system and he said they would put own 105% of my power used. Think they must have put on about 75 to 85%. Tried to find a way to e-mail them and only found a headache. The panels work good just don't put out like I was told they would do.

Hello Joe. Thank you for your feedback. Looking at your system's production from April 29th, 2017 to today's date you haven't experienced any service issues. The system's production looks great, the panels are designed to cover 100% of 19,767 kilowatts. If you are still receiving a bill from the utility company it's possible the usage has increased. We would be more than happy to run a savings analysis to see if this is the case. Please private message me your contact information and we can look further into this.

I was looking forward to meet with Sunrun rep to learn my options about solar energy. I had an appointment set up 3 days before the schedule time. After 45 minutes of waiting I called the number of the rep that was suppose to meet with me. He stated he was not coming because he was too far away from my residence. Not once I was called or email to reschedule. He stated that the customer service rep that called me to set up the appointment has no idea how far potential customers are from him and he can't accommodate a visit. He can only do a quote online or maybe he can accommodate an appointment on a Saturday. I have to say very disappointed with this company customer service. If is this bad at the beginning it will only be worse as a established customer.

TERRIBLE COMPANY We starting a project of getting solar installed with Sunrun in our new home shortly after we moved in in October 2016. Through our time working on this project, we have run against a lot of confusion, errors and overall frustrations. There are many solar companies that we have talked to but we decided to move forward with your company due to your connection with Costco. We have always been impressed with Costco and figured a company working with Costco should have a similar customer focus and professionalism. I would like to go through a few of our many frustrations that we have experienced in working with Sunrun. We started the project in November and didn't get everything installed until Sept 22. They had initially told us that the panels would be installed by April-May of 2017. The communication between our projects leads and the owners of the home was very poor. When we set up our project we set it up originally off of a partial electric bill. Once we realized this we asked to increase the size and quantity of the panels on our project to get closer to our actual energy usage. The employee who was at the house then set it up as two different projects on the same property. One project being the original plan (as the original project was already moving through the process). The second project being the additional panels required for the second plan. At some point, they realized they could not do it as two separate projects so they canceled the separate projects causing us to get an automatic email notification that our project was canceled. In order for us to find out what happened, we had to call them. The canceling of the projects caused an issue with the financing process which we as the customer had to resolve through a series of phone calls and a series of additional paperwork. We were told originally that the roof repair work would be covered in the installation. A while into the project we were informed via email that we would have to pay an additional amount to cover the overage. I called to find out more and was assured a number of times that it was covered. Additional emails came stating we needed to pay, leading to an additional phone call where they stated that we indeed needed to pay extra and that the extra could not be financed. When they came to change out the electric panel we were not informed that our power would be turned off for the whole day until the contractors arrived that day. The communication was buried in a few PDF files attached to an email. No one asked if we wanted to keep the old panel leading to the contractors to throw it away without our permission. After installation, the contractors left us with very limited information about the system and how it worked etc. Causing us to have to follow up with the company to get the manual and other instructions for our new $50,000 appliance. Meanwhile, there were several different people that would contact us for various things and there was no continuity of contacts. Further, there are 4 owners of this property and we asked them numerous times to copy all of us on all email communications which did not happen. After the installation of the system was complete our pump on the pond was not working. We thought it was an issue with the pump so we called someone out to repair it. Come to find out it was not a problem with the pump, the problem was that the panel was not appropriately hooked up to the pump. The screw in the panel box was not connected to the wire. This was causing a spike in electricity usage and causing the pump to not work. In order to determine this, we had to call out a pump guy and an electrician to tell us that Sunrun screwed up the connection. The electrician was able to fix this issue but this cost us extra time and money. Now this month we got our electric bill showing our connection to the solar. At first, it looked promising, until we got a second bill in the mail. I called up SDGE and found out that Sunrun had only hooked the solar up to our water pump electric meter and not to the house. So now not only am I still paying for my HIGH electricity bill on the main property but now I am paying for my solar panels that were supposed to help lower the cost of my electricity. Apparently, the wrong application was filed. A dual application needs to be submitted to connect the solar to both the house and the water pump meters. We did inform a few of the people that we worked with over the last year that there were 2 different electricity meters on the property. All in all, these are some of the biggest issues we have had through this process. There are other issues that were minor but still should not have happened. I have to say that in the end we have not been impressed with Sunrun and would not recommend them to anyone else. We are very disappointed how this entire project was handled. In my opinion, this experience was not worthy of its connection with Costco. They have also sent us to collections for a bill they never sent us and a bill that customer service has no record of. DO NOT USE THEM.

Challenging expierence. They sell you good that you will only have the panel bill plus the connection for the utility company. Well in my case I am out about $376 dollars because their installation crew didn’t hook up all the panels. Despite the fact that I notified my rep twice that I wasn’t generating as much as I should I almost was left holding the bag. Three months later they received a generated message that my system was underperforming and sent a tech out who found that a whole section wasn’t plugged in. A whole section that I was paying for, in addition to utilities because it wasn’t working. The first level customer service is lacking. When my issue was pushed up the ladder, Sunrun reimbursed me the amount I was out.

My husband signed an agreement while sick and having chemo therapy. Unfortunately he initialled every section locking us into a 20yr lease. monthly cost cost, true up cost and cost from southern cal edison. saddly my husband passed away and i had no idea abut sunrun and what crooks they are. there are only two option stay in the lease for 20 years or purchase and they have thousand of dollars of hidden fees that are only internal to they and cant share how they calculate the current appraisal and he tax.. their customer "specialist" didnt care about anything except what you have to pay no exceptions. The pay out after 7 years plus 3000 intial fee totaled to 22,620 , it took months before i could get a payout which the contract stated 14k,, but they add apraisal fees taxes. I also asked about cancel and i was told no that wasnt an option. I asked how were the pannels appraised and i was told its an internal process they dont share, sunrun has the worst customer service and i would never recommend them.

Hello Yolanda K. Thank you for your communication. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused during a hard time. We want to make sure we address your question. The way we calculate the cost of the system is, the initial cash price in the agreement plus the price of the fair market value plus tax. When customers request the price of the system we send an email that includes a breakdown of what totals the cost. Please private message me if you have any questions. I was all for going solar back in 2017 when I started the process with Sunrun rep Michael in October. Signed on to get panels told by December would be up and running. In April they started installation with appointments for installation schedule and cancelled, rescheduled and nothing three times. Was called by top management who promised it would be done and told me that he personally was sending me a $500 gift card for all the trouble with installation still waiting for it. Installation occurred did not pass inspection. Repairs done inspection completed ok to go. One month late not solar. No calls and no MIchael he stopped answering text and did not show up for appointment. I would give less stars if I could. Was thinking of recommending them to other put I don't want to give others the same trouble I am having. Norberto Hernandez

Disappointed customer Hemet, CA

I’m in the process of trying to get solar and it has been a nightmare we started in March and was told we would be up and running by June 1st. We have gone through the inspection process and was sent to final design and the sales representative came out with the results and said that we need to pay and additional $3000 to get the equipment installed and Sunrun would only pay $6000. They were going to install 38 panels onto 3 planes of the home. I was promised when we started the process that we would not be asked for any additional fees to put the panels on the roof that Sunrun will absorb the cost. So when I was told I had to pay an additional $3000 I was floored and the sales representative then told me that we had quite a bit of damage to the roof we then asked do you have any pictures to show the damage and he said no but will get them and send them to me. I also said I will not pay that to get them installed so he said I will go back to my boss and get it taken care of that he was the best sales rep out there and he will get back to me in 2 days and that’s all he needs and not to worry. This was April 30. He then did not get back to us so after 2 weeks we text him and he said his boss is out of town and will get back to us the next day. Well another week goes by and I call him now and it says he went on vacation for 2 weeks and will return May 27. So still no call when he returns I then call June first a little annoyed at this time and he said sorry he just dropped the ball and will work on it so he calls back a few days later and said there was nothing he can do but he has an idea to change from a 220 watt to 330 watt system and use only 2 planes on the roof and that should drop the $3000 we owe and it will produce a little less. And it will be $1040 now. I’m at a loss and don’t know what to do and after reading all the comments here I don’t think moving forward is a good idea.

Why can not sun run fix my system that I have with battery no one knows what they are doing when they come to my house to fix system. We installed in April 2018 2 weeks later it broke down we did not receive phone call and the repair team shows up telling me they are here to fix problem. It broke again on June 5th and was told 9 times some one would call me and show up no one did. On June 6th tech showed up with out calling and tried to fix system he did not the battery got so hot you could not touch box, I had to shut system down again. My question is can some one call me and tell the truth and send out tech that knows what they are doing, we did not have sun run put their property on our house for looks I was hoping it would work which it has not as of date. Hello Tim, thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry you've had multiple issues, this is not the Sunrun norm. We can see you've been in contact with a Specialist, and the system is working without any issues. The tech went out to review the system 06/07/2018. The battery is not overheating. The batteries have a sensor installed in case it overheats the system will shut off on its own. Kimberly was able to credit you one month's worth of services as a courtesy and has reassured you that your system has been working since it was activated. You can check my Sunrun and we also granted you access to Solaredge so you can see the battery activity. We will have the Specialist reach out to you once more to address your continued concerns.

Sunrun is the worst Solar Company!!! I really wish I had done more research on solar and on this company prior to putting them on my house. I was told one thing during the phase of them trying to get me to sign with solar but once I receive the panels everything changed. I did not save any money whatsoever I actually ended up having three bills one from PG&E for gas one from Sunrun and an additional one from PG&E for having solar at the end of each billing cycle year you get what's called a true-up bill, my true up bill for the past two years has been over $500. So I was paying 84 to Sunrun about 85 to PG&E and then the big Bill at the end of every cycle year. Before I decided to get the panel's I was paying about $150 a month for PG&E. My neighbor also had panels and she told me she was paying $2,000 for her true up bill every year. I was told I would get a $500 sign on money for agreeing to get the panel's I got a check for $250 and that's only because I called them about 5 months later and they said sorry we never said 500 whoever told you that was wrong and they sent me to 50. Then they also told me that if I sold the house I would no longer be responsible for the solar panels that too was a lie because now they're telling me that if the people that purchase the home does not want the solar panels I'm still responsible for them even though they had originally told me that if I sell it I'm out of the contract. Every time I call them for any issue they are no help they put a box in my house to track my solar it hasn't track the solar and at least 5 months I called them to let them know and they said they would be sending someone out to fix it this was probably 3 to 4 months ago and I haven't seen anyone. I regret the day that I decided to get panels through Sunrun I'm sure there are better companies out there but I would never choose solar again because for me all the experiences were bad and I actually ended up paying way more money. I do not recommend solar panels and I definitely do not recommend Sunrun if you're going to get solar panels if I could have given them zero Stars I would have

So if you look back a few months ago I gave sun run one star. My roof was leaking. I started the service call in Dec 2017. It is now going on 6 months. I have detail email trails of correspondences. My solar is still not up and running. I have no words for how dissatisfied and mishandled this incident has been handled. The absolute worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I have been a customer for 7 years!! I have a lease. I pay on time every time. I am holding up my end of the agreement. Sun run has for 6 months now NOT upheld theirs. I have been patient , understanding of rain, but as of today. I pay my lease agreement and my doubles PGE BILL. NO ONE AT SUNRUN SEEMS TO CARE. MY NEXT STEP IS LEGAL FOR BREECH OF CONTRACT BY SUNRUN. SO very disappointed. I believe in solar. I don’t believe in this company’s integrity any longer.

THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOSING THE COMPANY! Have had a horrible experience! System was installed at the end of the summer 2017. I have received a voicemail stating the company is at fault for my system not working for 5 months. Trying to get someone on the phone who knows what there doing it like winning the lottery. The sales man, Mattew has not helped much. Finally got ahold of a manger, Jacqueline who seemed concerned the one time we spoke on phone. I first contacted her in February 2018, we are now in May and she has returned one email after I provided her with the voicemail I received. For 5 months I have paid a full con ed bill and had to pay for a service from sunrun that was not provided. Do your selve a favor and PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOSING THIS COMPANY !!!!!!! UPDATE!! June 7th 2018, Spoke with a customer care specialist The final result is, one manager stated they did not turn my system on for the first 5/6 months, and someone else said that it was not connected properly. I paid monthly for a system that was never activated due to poor installation. All of the guarantees were of a 95% production. The issue of never receiving kilowatts from our solar panel was due to human error on Sunruns end and didn't receive any production. After comparing my utility bills to the year prior, it was relatively the same in cost and kilowatt usage. To my understanding, Sunrun DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERRORS!! I only asked for reimbursement of the balance paid for while the system wasn't working, and was told that "it's not going to happen". Furthermore, that there was no manager I can speak to on this matter; the escalation ends here! I have been going back and forth with the sales person, sales manager, and every one else at their 800 number since November of 2017, we are now in June 2018. THINK TWICE BEFORE PICKING YOUR SOLAR COMPANY AND TAKE INTO ACCOUNT ALL THE REVIEWS! Good luck!

Beware of Sunrun! When we had our solar panels installed, the salesman told us we would have to pay $500.00 to have them removed and put back on if we ever needed a new roof. When we called, they informed us it would be $500.00 to take them off and $3,900. to be put back on! We contacted our salesperson, who then sent them a letter verifying that he didn't say that. They claim to never have received his email. We have been in contact with them, with no response or resolution to this problem. I see that many other people are experiencing the same issue. The response from the company is that they will tell their leadership teams and make them aware of this-never solving the problem! I would not recommend this company! They are not honest or responsive to our emails and calls. After 3 weeks with no response from them, I think we will cancel our lease. Just not worth the frustration and aggravation!

Total mixed bag; Initial sales guy Mark - Awesome. Hole left in the roof by the installers causing water damage this winter - not good. Sun Run fixed it - great. Payment to contractors taking way to long. They sent the check to the wrong address and in spite of 4 calls from me, it's now been 6 weeks and still no payment to contractors for repairs. Just spoke again with the customer "couldn't care less" department. They said they would expedite payment for repairs... we'll see...

I had to have my panels removed because of a roof leak in November. Now we are into the month of May and they have not been reinstalled. I spoke to many of your reps and the story is the same that we are looking into it and should have an answer by next week. Well, weeks have flown by and still no reinstalation. I have been pushed from Sun Run to Trinity with no luck. My final statement to them was take them away it is not worth the aggravation. These people are still putting up panels for new customers but the older just sit and wait. This is one of the worst company that I have ever dealt with.

5/2/18 I can’t say anything positive about Sunrun. We were excited to get solar. However, my solar has become a nightmare. I have a cracked panel, broken converters, and $1,000 electric bill. (Please see enclosed pictures). I was blindsided by the sales pitch. No one informed that birds love living under the panels, and I should order panels with the lip or insist on critter guard. Instead I was talked into getting commercial grade panels, with no lip, no critter guard. So I did. Fast forward to the present, my housing track has really high rooflines, and the birds have made my solar their home. Sunrun told me on a recorded conversation that the birds where causing a problem with my solar production, and they would have the bird debris such as droppings, and eggs cleaned by a professional company, critter guard installed, and my cracked panel and converters repaired, with no added cost to me. Well, I guess 1 out of 3 isn’t bad for a big company like Sunrun. They did send a cleaning company. It’s been a month and the work has not been complete. Every time I contact the company (which has been everyday) I get the run around. Management is a meeting, My request has been sent, etc. I am so disappointed with Sunrun. What happened to the 25 year warranty ?! I could never in good conscious recommend this company. Buyer Beware.

A sales guy on behalf of Sun Run showed up at my door in 2012. I fell for his lies. Lie #1 - my electric bill would go up and Sun Run would lock me at a low rate ( the opposite occurred, my electric went down and Sun Run price went up). Lie # 2 . I would save a $50 or more a money (I save $113 for the entire year). Lie # 3 I was told I would get Black solar panel ( I was installed blue). ***Now the next problem. Back when I signed my solar contract, I was never given ask to get "critter guard" when I leased my panels. As a result this, a squirrel not only chewed my solar panels but it chewed a huge HOLE in my roof. It built the hole because it had the shelter of the solar panels. The squirrel lived only on my roof, under the panels. It chewed my panels and no one from SUNRUN every called to tell me my panels were not effectively working. On February 2, 2018, water leaked into my nine year old daughter’s room from a storm. I was confused since she had an attic above her room, so I was confused where the water could be coming from. That is when I discovered I had a hole in my roof. Well, I had water damage , black MOLD, bees, and thousands of dollars of repairs, Sunrun would not cover. I never heard of a squirrel chewing a hole in a roof without panels, have you? Although multiple representatives on the phone thought Sun Run should be responsible, the ONES in charge said no. I had to cover the bill of all the damage. Sun Run took off my solar panels, “free of charge” so I could fix my roof. Well it has been a month, and still no panels back on...why because they do not make BLUE panels anymore. Back in 2012, I was promised black panels, Sunrun gave me blue. I complained in 2012. Sunrun did NOTHING. Now nobody makes blue panels in 2018 and Sunrun is now going to give me a few black panels, so I have a black and blue panels on my roof on the front of my house. I am told, "I have a contract", so it does not matter what my roof looks like. So now, I have this contract for 20 YEARS with a black and blue roof and I am spending more money than I am saving. Nobody from Sun Run has contacted me about putting on my panels, but they have no problem charging me $90 a month, To this day, I still have not have my panels on my roof and I get charged a monthly fee of $90. I saved $113 for the YEAR and paid out of pocket THOUSANDS of dollars. I have had to call multiple times and I have spent hours of the phone or sending emails trying to get this resolved. I do NOT recommend this company. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I want to cancel my service and have the solar panels removed because I have been deceived, but I am told I am locked in for 20 YEARS.

When we did get a quote to purchase solar panels from a distant Colorado office, they showed the panels design on the north side of our roof and not the best quality panels with higher quotes than other local Arizona companies. Also, contractors are sub contracted, so you don't know who will do the project

My system was installed Oct 2016. It worked good till August 2017 when there was some type of failure. First learned of this when I received a $ 900.00 bill from Edison Dec 2017. I called and repair man was out in Jan., Feb., Mar., April, and it still is not working correctly. I have accumulated a new bill of $ 500.00 so far with Edison plus making payments to Sun run. Last repair man said they need to check something they have already checked.. So far eight months with a broke system. No one seems to know what they are doing and put repairs off after they try and blame something else. I see them once a month for my monthly attempt. Tom

This company has the worst customer service skills zI have ever encountered. Poor service from top to bottom. When I originllay leased my solar system from them I was informed via verbal from sales rep that the cost to remove and replace panels (30) in case later on down the road I needed to re-roof was told that the cost for such a project would be $1000 - $ $1500 max, well I now need to re-roof and now the cost is $500.00 for remove and $100.00 per panel for re-install bringing total cost to $3500.00. Explained to them that I was quoted no more than $1500.00 and their response was did you get it in writing which I didn't my fault for being trusting. Anyways contacted original sales rep and he made everything right sticking to quoted price but has to be preformed by a third party. Do not trust this company, get everything in writing.

I bought this house 3 years ago that has Sunrun Solar on my house I was pleased with the amount of energy it was producing and my bill didn't understand it at all but I'm still pleased with it but recently I had a few storms up here it was really windy one day and rain and my roof got tore up really bad I needed to solar be taken off so I can repair my roof and I found out they were unable to help me but they want to charge me $500 for someone to come out here take them off and then $100 per panel to me that's not good customer service after your Leasing there's solar and I also found out from the roofer that my roof that I bought the house from is over 20 years old and he should have been put on there in the first place should have had a new roof put on it before the solar was put on but now I got to find some how to get the solar off without pain and arm and leg for a repair job it's going to cost less than what they want to charge me to take the solar off to me that's unfair that's not great customer service just want to tell everybody else out there watch out if you have any damage to your roof they're going to be charging you an arm and leg

I submitted an online inquiry to receive information regarding Sunrun solar panel leases because a neighbor a few doors down was in the process of getting solar panels installed. Within 5 minutes of submission, a Sunrun rep calls me and we begin to go through the process to see if my home qualifies. After learning we qualify, I informed the rep that I wanted a ground mount installation. He proceeded to to tell me ground mount would cost more due to the additional trenching required. He then informed me that Sunrun does not do ground mount installation in my area which surprised me being as though the home 2 doors down was having a ground mount system installed that very same day. I explained to him that I drove by my neighbors home and they clearly have a ground mount system. The rep then told me that could not be possible and the telephone conversation soon became adversarial in which I recommended that he contact directly and confirm with actual sales rep who signed up my neighbors. I was supposed to receive a call back the following day but never did. I would of rather the telephone rep do proper research before insinuating what I saw was incorrect.

One-star rating because this site will not take/accept zero-star for ratings. My experience with Sunrun has been really upsetting and bad, to say the least. I only had my panels for 5 months now and it's beginning to show system signs of failure and causing power production issues. My solar panels were not producing power for 2 weeks and it took a phone call from me for Sunrun to know and acknowledge the failure. The inverter and the meter were down with no activity lights. I thought Sunrun monitors the systems but, why would they wait for a customer to call before they make arrangements for a technical health-check or break-fix visit. On my first call, I was promised that I will get a call in 3 days from a technician to schedule the visit. No one called. I had to call customer support again to escalate and got lucky with a customer support who guided me through the initial troubleshooting. After flipping through the switches including the breaker switch - which I found to be halfway flipped - it made the meter and inverter lit up and showed signs of life. I thought all along that my problems were fixed at that point but when I checked a week later, it actually just worked for a few hours and failed again. The solar panels have not been producing power for 3 weeks now and the earliest Sunrun can send a technician to check the system is 2 weeks away. What a pain. I'm looking for options now to get out of this Sunrun headache. I don't really mind for Sunrun to take these failed products off my property - and should be at no cost to me since they failed their commitment - and I will go find another provider that truly cares about customers.

Stay away from SUN RUN it is the worst company, now in my 2nd year with them and instead saving my electric bill is $80 - $100 more from September to May. My home is a ranch and surrounded with trees which are twice the size of the house. I have spoken to several customer service representative each of them told me " you should never gotten solar" well that's just words and no action. Now my attorney is handling this problem and I will go all the way until they remove those panels and give me a new roof. In the mean time I see that Sun Run has stands in retail stores like Home Depot. I am now retired and all my free time will be devoted to find and travel to those stands to warn consumers. God Bless me. Silvia Oz

First of all. The installation guys were awesome! They were professional, on time and talked me through everything. I'm extremely disappointed in the salesman! He sold me a lie, a stupid pipe dream. I'm a disabled veteran. Married but I live on a fixed income. I pay no taxes. I made that very clear while I was applying for my system. I had concerns about getting the tax break. Which I was then in turn going to give them to pay down the balance of my system. That would in turn lower my monthly payment to an affordable amount. Around 200 $ dollars. To my absolute surprise. I didn't get the big tax break. The reason behind that being. My income is not taxable. Therefore my big tax break didn't come. Sun Run was absolutely NO help at all. I tried for months to get some help. My payment was going to balloon to over 325$ dollars a month. I pleaded with them to work out a deal. I pleaded with them. Explained that I could lose my house. There answer to my calls were to call the loan company. Once Sun Run had their money. They didn't care that the representative sold me on a lie. The loan company told me that any deal I had with SunRun was not there reasonably. Which was true. But my loan company fought on my behalf, to no avail. My calls were being ignored by my local Sun Run team. So I called the corporate office. I was transferred from one manager to another. I eventually was put in touch edith an escalation team. They called me back 2 days later. I was told once again that Sun Run is not responsible and they couldn't help. I was told that Sun Run hands were tied. As a result. I had to take out a second mortgage to pay Sun Run off. Because of Sun Run my bills are 200 $ dollars more a month. I'm not giving a ZERO rating because my system is working properly and the installers were awesome. I'm still waiting for Sun Run to make things right. I'm out 18000 $ dollars. I have to pay 200 $ more a month in bills. Where is the justice for the little guy. I'm extremely disappointed with Sun Run. I will continue to speak out against Sun Run and this injustice. I bought this system through COSTCO. They were no help at all. Please don't fall into the same trap I did. If you are disabled. Receive military disability and social society disability. Do not think you will be recieving any tax relief at all. You will get screwed just like I did!!! My name is Steve. I live in Prescott Valley Arizona. Please don't make the same mistake I did! The result could be that you almost lose your house like I did!!!

I'm not a fan of this company at all or it's sales team. They come to your door late at night and are continuously persistent even when you have told them multiple times you are not interested. The last time they came to my house, I at first told them I wasn't interested, they asked why. And I told them because in a year we were planning on selling our house. Then they got my attention by telling me it adds value to the home, and they guaranteed selling my home wouldn't be a problem. Well all that was a big fat lie. Not only do our leased solar panels not add value to our home, it actually decreased it. No one wants to purchase a house with leased solar panels, and the whole guaranteeing that a buyer would purchase my home is false. Not to mention the yearly increase of 2.9% to my monthly bill, and the fact that if I wanted the 2.9% to stop I would have to almost pay about 8000, and the buyout would be a little over 31000, but I wouldn't even own them at that point and they still would add 0 value to my home. If I wanted to own them I would have to pay a little over 61000! Other than that there is no way out of their lease agreement, not to mention my monthly bill as of right now is $155, when summer comes I will be saving absolutely nothing because when I first signed up they promised I would only have to pay the electric company 15.00, and that was also a lie because I have paid them anything between 30 to 50 dollars. Please do not sign any agreement with this company or listen to their pushy sales team, they do not care about you they only care about what's going into their wallet. Getting these solar panels was the worst decision I have ever made. We need to move and I don't know how that is going to happen because we can't sell our house. They are crooks!

Hello Taryn, thank you for providing your feedback. We understand you are in the process of selling your home and that can be a stressful situation on its own. Sunrun’s service transfer team helps ease the new homeowners into taking over the lease. We find that Service Transfers are easiest when the Agreement is disclosed early and made a contingency of the sale. To ensure a simple transfer, please complete steps one and two prior to the close of escrow.

We're happy to discuss the benefits of the Agreement and the Service Transfer process with real estate agents or potential buyers that may not be familiar with the Sunrun Solar Service. Simply let us know when you decide to put your home on the market and we will ensure you have all the materials and support you need.

After installing our solar panels I noticed a penalty fee for not utilizing enough electricity. I contacted Sunrun who said they had no idea why this would be the case. They were of no help whatsoever. I wrote to the local reps, congress etc., including Governor Brown's office and got nowhere. Then, at the end of the year last year, we were hit with a bill in excess of $600. I called SCE and was given some story that really didn't make sense, but now, I pay the amount that shows a cumulative fee on the bill. I decided to look at my bills prior to installing our panels. I realized that we are paying MORE for our electricity NOW than we were prior to installing our panels!!!! In 2015 the price per Tier 1 kWh was $.15 vs. $.17 in 2018. Tier 2 $.19 2015 vs. $.25 2018 , $.26 in 2015 (they don't have this in 2018) Tier 4 in 2015 $.31 and High usage charge 2018 $.34. On the side of each bill they have a "cumulative energy charge Year-to-Date" which if you don't pay, you will be hit with a lump sum at the end of the year. Our bill in 2015 for our Jan -Feb bill for 607 kWh was $120.51. Our bill for the same period this year for 404 kWh was $125.69. Does something seem wrong with this picture? We have solar panels now. We did not then. Our bill reflects $1.08, with a charm of $125.69 ( I paid the cumulative charge the previous month, so this is the charge for THIS MONTH ONLY). I am going to research which representative in California I need to meet with, as after paying over $20,000 to purchase solar panels, this just is not right.

November 14, 2017 I was so disappointed with our solar panel installed in our house by SUNRUN solar We have it installed a year ago. EDISON sent me a bill of $1,900.00 for the entire year of having solar. I called Edison why they sent me that amount. There are only four persons living in the house. Before we switched to solar energy my monthly average is $225.00. SUNRUN billed me $265.00 monthly. But now I have to pay EDISON another $160.00 monthly usage and EDISON told me that my solar is not producing as promised by SUNRUN. We thought that we are saving on utility cost by switching to solar energy but it is a big scam. I emailed twice the customer care and services for help I did attached the statement from EDISON on how much KWH that we used and the response is, that it is not the statement they were looking for to analize the KWH usage. . I would love to get those panels out of my roof. Beware of switching to solar energy You will be paying double.

Hello Remigio L. thank you for the feedback, we understand you feel like you are not saving and that is disheartening to us! We can run a savings analysis for you to determine what your savings are. The system is producing as expected per the agreement, there are no service issue to cause the system to underperform. Looking over your agreement your pre solar usage was 17,990 kilowatts, and the system is setup to produce 16,604 kilowatts. You would still get a bill from the utility company for the remaining usage.
Once you go solar, your utility company will begin billing you as a "net energy metering" (NEM) customer. This means instead of billing you for all of your electricity usage, your utility will bill you for the difference between system production and how much total electricity your home needed for the month. For example, if the system generates 400 kWh of solar electricity and you used 600 kWh of electricity in your home, your utility company will only bill you for 200 kWh of electricity.

In either case, you will receive a net metering statement detailing your electricity usage, as well as any solar electricity credits you may have accrued each month (if you produced more electricity than you used). These credits will be incorporated into your utility bill, lowering your payment to the utility company. Please keep in mind that while the system may produce 400 kWh, some of that electricity is used immediately and your utility will only keep track of how much electricity is pushed back to their grid. This means that they will likely show a lower credit than the total production of the system.
Thank you for reaching out, I will send an email to inform you of what we need to run the analysis.

Frustrated... (BEWARE) After spending over 26k with Sunrun, I have had nothing but bad customer service coupled with a slow runaround treatment! I went with Sunrun because they were the company COSTCO stood behind. My system was installed in August 2017. So far the $5,000 battery "Brightbox" broke two months after installation, it then took another month before they installed a new LG battery. A couple of weeks after that episode the transformer broke and needed to be replaced. As of now, the battery system is still not working. When I reach out to the customer service Dept. they are nice as pie while they are telling me to wait another 5 days before someone will contact me to make an appointment for a service tech to come out 3 weeks down the road and address the issue. Unfortunately I have to say, I've made a BIG MISTAKE going with Sunrun, their products and customer service have been nothing but a disappointment ( to put it nicely ) it's no wonder their stocks have dropped like a stone. I would like to get the Email address & a phone number to Evelyn H. I have been a Sun-run Customer for several years now and i am locked into a lease unless i want to buy the remainder of the Lease which is still around $20,000. Not only am i paying between $200 and $350 a month for Solar, but i am still paying over $700 a year to Edison. And the more you generate with Sun run the higher your bill. I could have bought my system with a long term warranty and had virtually zero monthly payment. I have talked to reps at home shows and they have nothing to say. Nor will the person from Sunrun say when they read this. You want to say something... break the lease, come get you equipment and panels off my roof. eventually someone in the government will get wind of this and do something about it.

I came across the Sunrun rep at Costco, he put me in touch with the salesman Rocky. Next day Rocky was sitting on my dining table and he convinced me that I was getting the best deal on the solar leasing contract that I agreed to. He took my SSN, ran a credit check, and approved it. The next day I received a verbal authorization call from Sun-Run corporate office and that is where I learned that my monthly lease amount would have increased by 2.99% every year which was totally unacceptable to me. I then stopped the process. Today I called Experian to remove the hard enquiry from my credit file and they said that only Sunrun can do it. So I chatted with Allen from Sunrun and he advised to call the customer service department where I talked to Donald who was totally uncooperative and declined to help me in removing the inquiry and said that there was no way they would remove the enquiry. Due to this, my FICO score has gone down. The Experian representative that only Sunrun has the authority to remove the inquiry, and that they cannot do it.

Hello Mony S. Thank you for the feedback, while we regret very much this discovery we can understand your frustration. Sunrun offers affordable ways to go solar, leasing our panels is one of them. Leasing our system is beneficial because it’s an economical way to go solar. We run credit checks to qualify customers. When running a credit check, it’s a hard inquiry credit check; it can slightly lower your credit score. Sunrun does not have the ability remove this from your credit score; I am so sorry to inform you. We want to thank you very much for showing interest in going solar.

So sad this has been a nightmare with Sunrun from the start with Sunrun, As it stands now I will not recommend this company. From the start the contracted my system out to be installed to Infinity I got nothing but untruths from the start. I couldn't never put in all that has happen to me. When the processed started my electric just keep going up but now mysteriously after the system was turned my electric bill went back to what it was. I was told my panels would be facing south they are not. I told the guys that was putting the panels I asked what way was the panels was going to fast they said west I said no don't put them in they put the in & said if they don't produce as promised they would pay to have them moved. The panels face trees so they knew from the start that the trees would be an issue I wish I would have called the police & had them removed from the property. I was told today they will not move them & the will pay to remove trees that will not help next I guess they will remove the home because that is blocking it also. So I'm paying Sunrun & the electric company. In the very beginning I wouldn't have a electric bill not so you to be hooked to the lines. I was not told that I would be paying electric co 40 to 50 dollars a month to electric co on top of the $40.00 plus to the electric co IF I ever had to pay the electric co it be very very little. I called my electric co & they told me my electric this month without solar would $73 or$78 I remember which one so what did pay $109 Sunrun & 40 or 50 to the electric co. So there is zero reason to have solar panels. Sunrun will not change the panels as I was told they would is they didn't produce as promised NO they will not. Please Stay clear of Sunrun. The sales person I told him I DONT want to sign NO contract till I read it & my brother read then we could explain to my Dad. He had me sign contract online which I didn't know you could sign a contract online. When this contract was signed I was very ill & lost my Mother a few month early I told him all of that & I told him I don't understand this stuff so my brother has to read the contract & make sure it was the same as his & he thought it was ok to sign. I would get lawyer but I cannot afford one but Sunrun needs to be shut down so they cannot do this to anyone else. To take advantage of sick people & someone that does not understand contracts & letting the company they hired & will not stand by what that company tells you is wrong I got one story from the sales person one store from Infinity & one from Sunrun so I'm caught in the middle worse off than before I got in this nightmare & they knew we live on a fixed income my Dad is 80 years old & in bad health as I am to. I told Sunrun I don't know how they could hold anyone to a contract when everything was based on lies. STAY CLEAR OF SUNRUN! PLEASE I'm sorry if this does not make a lot of sense but this is so upsetting to me & my Dad I thought the other day talking to them I was going to have stroke I was physical ill for days after. Every time I think about this I get so upset I cry so I cannot think straight

Solar is a scam. Signed contract in July wasn't installed and running until November. Tried to contact sales rep several times in the fall for progress updates with no response. sales rep was super friendly made me believe I would be making a huge savings! I thought I was too since my bills until January had been half what they were from last year.. than in January my bill was 5 times the usual amount so I thought there had to be some kind of error. Contacted both my conventional and solar electric companies and got no help From either. Was just told they weren't working as efficient because of the weather/time of year. So today I get a call from sunrun saying I owed them for the last three months (the amount of time I've had the panels for)to which I was in complete shock because my sales representative never informed me I had two separate bills to pay he told me that sunrun charged my electric company.. so my electric bill is now almost triple from what I paid in January last year (the rates didn't go up) and am now paying the same if not more for electric! I have yet to see any savings with going solar. Would not recommend to anyone. Looking to go back to conventional electric

Hello Johnny, thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that the interaction with your sales representative was less than a satisfactory experience. This an area of opportunity and we want to take the initiative to make things right! Now that your system is active you can contact Customer Care (855-478-6786) with any concerns. In regards to your savings we have to go over a couple of factors. How big is the system, how much is Sunrun setup to offset from your utility bill, and you also have to keep in mind that solar is seasonal and the weather affects production. During the summer months your system will produce the most energy. If your system is producing and you are using above and beyond what the system can produce, that additional energy gets billed by the utility company. Once you’ve had the system for 1 year we can offer to do a Savings Analysis and see what your total savings are. Feel free to contact Customer Care or private message me your information.

Long story short. Installed Solar in November and it has not worked. After passing all inspections PNM came out and turned the system on. It failed immediately. Installer came out reset the system and it ran for a day and failed again. Called installer again and they said they would be back in 3 days. Never heard back. Called again and another solar tech came out. Told me the inverter was bad. Here we are in Feb and the system still does not work. I am now paying for both PNM and Solar for something that does not work. Suggestion do not go solar. All promises including the 250 buck promotion is just a lie. I think its worth it just to stay on the grid. Solar is not worth the headache. I think i need a lawyer because i will probably end up paying a lot more in the end. All of us with these problems should consider a class action law suit.

Thank you for your feedback Ray L. We are so sorry here about the ongoing service issues, and understand it can be frustrating. Sunrun takes care of servicing and maintaining the system, I see we had you scheduled today. The inverter was having issues, our tech is contacting Ginlong. Once we have an update you should be contacted. Please keep in mind you are protected by your performance guarantee.

Referral fee not paid! I made a referral when Sunrun was taking over Sungevity. Subsequent to my referral, a contract was signed by my friends and my referral gave Sunrun a new customer for a rather large solar system on top of their 5000 sq foot house. Neither Sunrun nor Sungevity ever made good on payment of the referral fee due me. I tried on numerous occasions to collect the referral fee, but was unsuccessful. Many of my calls were ignored, as were some of my emails. Sunrun pointed fingers to Sungevity as the responsible party, and Sungevity pointed to Sunrun. The only “collection” information I ever received (several months later) was that I could go to court and file as a creditor to maybe get what was owed me. I did not...at this point it was not worth any more of my time or effort. And yes .... I believe this is what Sunrun expected. Create hassle for the victim to collect and chances are they won’t waste time to do so. The only remedy I now have is to tell others about my experience and offer my opinion; to tell others how Sungevity/Sunrun failed to provide the referral fee promised. It is my opinion that at this time Sunrun/Sungevity is not to be trusted, they make hollow promises and don’t care. With all the companies now offering solar, I would suggest that a potential buyer look at other solar companies before contracting with Sunrun, find a solar company that (first and foremost) is loyal to their customers.

Hello Candace T. Thank you for your communication, we are so sorry to hear that your experience has been unpleasant. We can certainly understand your frustration and want to take the opportunity to change things around for you. Sungevity was originally a Sunrun partner, but Sungevity filed for bankruptcy. We ingested all Sungevity agreements and customers. We are so sorry that we were not able to offer the refer a friend credit Sungevity originally offered you. What we can do is honor the refer a friend credit of $350 that Sunrun offers. We would be more than happy to get this applied immediately. We would need the following information to do so. Your detailed contact information, as well as the contact information for the person you have referred. The referee needs to be installed and have the panels active and producing. Please private message me this information and I can have a Specialist reach out to you, Thank you!

My system was installed in a timely fashion and running the first of December. The inverter failed, the first time in early January. I phoned and gave them the three error codes and verbiage. Their service agents had no idea what the codes meant and I was told they couldn't schedule repair until Jan 30th. There was only one circuit effected; the kitchen appliances; lost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. After power was out for nine hours, I managed to get the system back on myself. Two weeks later, the same problem, and again lost the frig contents. I put all my ninety-three-year-old mother's medication on ice to save. Was told that system had defaulted to the grid and it was San Diego Gas and Electric's problem and to call them. They came out immediately and confirmed the problem was with Sunrun's system. I called again and had to threaten with a medical emergency. A service agent came out the next day and opened the unit up. There was a fried wire which was identified immediately. The service tech stated that he couldn't replace the afflicted wire and the inverter had to be replaced. To his credit, he hard-wired the bad circuit to a breaker and everything came back on. It's two weeks later and still waiting for the system to be fixed. I phone every day and talk to different service reps and finally told a repair request had been sent to service a week ago and they will call me to schedule an appointment. Still phoning daily, still waiting for return calls they promise. I have now been on the grid for two weeks getting charged the maximum kWh rates allowable from SDG&E. After eleven years in the corporate world and over thirty years of being self-employed in my own national business, coupled with global equipment license agreements, and working with thousands of companies, Sunrun tops the list of worst companies in terms of customer service. I called my referrals and told them to go anywhere but Sunrun.

My installation went fairly well except the system does not work! I have spent two weeks calling everyone from Sunrun with little to no response. First I was told this was a delay for the system to register. Maybe the computers were running a little slow? Then the Project Coordinator advised me that she could no longer be of assistance and I should call Customer Service. Tried that 3 times and sat on hold for up to 20 minutes and finally hung up. The email assistance states there is a 3-5 day response time. That is the most unprofessional attitude I have encountered in many years. The only person who seems to respond or care is the salesman. He has been easy to contact but does not seem to have any more access to answers than I do. The dashboard shows no production but does have the payment date for my automatic withdrawl. If I were to do this over Sunrun would be my last choice. The overall professionalism I have encountered with this company is pathetic. And it is laughable how they constantly remind one to refer a friend. I would think twice about referring an enemy!

We lease the equipment from Sunrun. We were assured we would save a lot of many using solar. Instead, we are paying Sunrun about 4 cents more a KWH than we are paying PSE&G. We were told it takes time to see savings. We have the system more than 5 years. Sunrun raises the price every year while PSE&G has remained fairly steady, and even dropped. We were told that we would be contacted in April 2016 and possibly get a rate adjustment. It is now December, 2017 and we are still waiting to be contacted. If you are looking to save money stay away from Sunrun. It will cost you in the end. When our lease is done we will NOT renew

We have owned our system for five years. Our true-up this year was $3000. Last year it was $2000. Our yearly usage has been about the same. Because we own our system, we are now told that we are on our own to figure out issues. They told us we should have our panels cleaned but this may or may not help out in our situation. They told us PG&E was to blame as there were power strikes on our system. I told PG&E this and they immediately came to our home with a tool too look at the electrical input to our home and others in our neighborhood. I walked with the technician as he did his research. All was good. I asked Sunrun for their report and they did not have one. We are now playing monkey in the middle and this is very very frustrating. All of our appliances, heating and a/c, water heater are 3-8 years old. Cannot figure out why our bills are so high and no one can help. Would highly recommend NOT using Sunrun because they leave you once they have the sell!

Hello Donna, thank you for your feedback. We understand that saving is important when you go solar. Keep in mind that the size of your utility bill is based on your usage. If your bill is higher than last year, you may be using more power than last year. Since your Sunrun rate is lower than that of your utility, that means you'd be paying even more for your current usage without solar. In other words, you're still saving. Remember that solar is seasonal. The panels will produce more during the sunnier months and less during the winter. Over the course of 12 months, you will still be saving. Your true-up bill may seem high but keep in mind this bill is for a full year of power. If you divide the full amount by 12 months, you will get a better idea of what you are spending on average. We can run a savings analysis at the end of your first solar year.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUNRUN!!! After many calls Sunrun called for a customer review on work done. I spoke with them and explained the whole problems and I have not heard from them. I'm reposting the whole thing. Sunrun Inc. / Sunrun Solar is not the business you want to do business with. 1.) The contractor that gets you signed up deliveries a twisted presentation from the start of the project. They tell you how many solar panels that will a on you home but when it's installed it doesn't turn out that way. 2) They also replaced our roof and did not do it correctly. They had a lot of people on our roof when the panels were installed and they damaged the roof and when it rained it damaged the interior of our house in 2 places. 3.) They also replaced our electrical panel and in the interior of the house they caused wall board damage at tape lines and nails were coming out. 3) Water damage on our interior natural wood is really bad and Sunrun refuses to correct that problems that they did. I have been dealing with this whole problem for six (6) months. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUNRUN INC. / SUNRUN SOLAR. THEY ARE LIARS.

I orig told our salesman to give me a little time I was considering Sunrun and 2 other co's. He badgered me every other day I would be coming home see his car and want to turn around until he left the neighborhood.. I sent him to 3 of my neighbors who signed up and I rec'd nothing even though he said if I referred customers that I would receive a credit . I told him over the phone and in person to plz stop calling and coming by that I would let him know when I was ready. I did end up signing up because my wife and I felt it would be a benefit to us. We gave hime all our pmyt. info and he never did anything with taking out our payments which caused a huge problem!! Still to this day it's causing a problem when all he had to do was follow through and do his job. I tried to contact him several times about install dates etc he was a nightmare to say the least. I've since dealt with two people who collect for the company they are rude. I fully plan on straightening it out and to pay my bills but I would not recommend this company because of the way it began and is now. I take some responsibility for this but had it began right and the salesman did his job properly I would not be in this mess.

I am compelled to write this, and am shocked to see SunRun near the top of the list. They have a contract with COSTCO to provide solar services. I had them come out, to do a quote. I was interested in Purchase, not Lease, as with fed/state rebates at the time, it made sense to just buy it. My power needs are modest, my electric bill average barely qualifies, but was going to add an electric car, which would bring usage up high enough that solar made sense. The rep got out his google map picture of my roof and metric from my electric bills. The system they came back with was going to be more KW than I needed.. but he explained that they need to put in that minimum level of system so that it makes sense financially. OK.. so the panel layout.. My roof is oriented so I have South and North facing slopes and some small area of west facing sloped roof. He couldn't fit all the panels on the South and West, so he had them on the NORTH facing side.. WHAT? No adjustment in his calc for power efficiency either! I questioned his layout. He said that it was cleared with his team but could not explain how they calculated the actual power. He agreed it wasn't right. He came back again, tried moving the layout around to use a lower roof area that also faced South, but still could not fit the system without using the North face. He also said they could not mount the panels to get them horizontal or reverse tilt.. they could only mount them following the roof slope. Again, their estimated power output didn't sync with those panels sloping on a North face. Then I dug into their contract and maintenance agreements. Part of the selling point for SunRun is guaranteed maintenance and (on a lease system) performance. I was doing a Purchase system though.. so here's the deal. With COSTCO, they wanted my to sign a contract for a fixed system price, but it did not have a detailed bill of materials. It didn't state the exact specs for the panels, power inverter or any other detail you'd expect in a sales contract. The contract obligated me to buy the system, but without a BOM. They explained that's how it works.. they submit the signed contract to COSTCO then come out to the field and figure out the system. Excuse me.. but I'm on the hook, for major bucks and I expect they should engineer it 1st, then do the sales contract. I guess they don't want to operate like normal businesses do. Second, their maintenance guarantee has NO SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT. They make NO commitment whatsoever as to how long it will take to respond, repair or restore your system if it should have a problem. They could not or refused to provide any statistical information about field service response time and mean time to repair. If you LEASE a system, they agree to provide a certain amount of generated power, so if it's down, they will re-imburse lost system power, so they have incentive to respond to an outage (partial or full) promptly. When you Purchase, there is no incentive. After talking with a local VP, they had to admit that Purchased systems have a lower priority than Leased systems when it comes to service/repair resources. So, it's buyer beware time with dishonest sales/engineering. They promised me a system with a power output that would not be possible because of North facing panels. You also need to check to see what the limits are on power generation to the grid. The local utilities won't subsidize systems too much over your existing usage history.. even though with Solar, I'd run the A/C all the time and charge cars that I was planning for the future. When you Purchase, all the Power generation guarantees go out the window, and so does the service response time. Plus, their salesman may sell you the impossible.. North facing sloped panels, on any solar calculator, will come out with 0 KW if you are in the Northern Hemisphere. You need them reverse tilted or at least horizontal. SunRun tried to rip me off. I reported to Costco Regional VP with an official complaint after discussion with SunRun "VP" yielded no reasonable explanation to the consumer rip-off. They would have put in a system that generated about 70% of the estimated power and I would have paid for useless panels. I TURNED THEM DOWN AND REPORTED the FRAUD. I am Honest and checked the "no I haven't been a paying customer in submitting this review. Let's see if they let it stand. The folks that run this website must get paid by these companies in advertising or other means.. The credibility of the entire report is questionable in my mind.. BEWARE!!!!!! These companies are all after the rebate money to stuff their pockets and will be full of excuses later, after you're on the hook and have stuff mounted all over your roof that cannot be removed without leaving permanent damage.

SUNRUN IS A SCAM. THEY ARE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND MAKE UNFULFILLED PROMISES. If you guys ever plan to install solar, please stay away from SunRun. They make promises, but don’t deliver at all. They are rude and unprofessional. When something goes wrong, they will not take ownership or responsibility for their mistakes. They will give you the run around when seeking for help and will pass you around like a hot potato. Let me explain my story. About 6 months ago, they installed solar panel on my house. On the installation day, SunRun arrived at my house very early in the morning and was very rude to my pregnant wife. They immediately tried to rush her out of the house quickly because they said they were on a time constraint. They didn’t even allow her enough time to feed our son, change his diaper, apply his eczema medication, or even prepare a bag (medication, food, cloth, and diaper). She felt uncomfortable by how they were pressuring her, so she left the house immediately. As a result, my 2-year old son who has eczema, scratch himself the whole day at the babysitter’s house. That same night including the next 5-7 nights, it was a nightmare for us. He scratched himself to the point that he started bleeding, which resulted in stains on the bed sheet. We had to wake up almost every hour to apply medication on him because of his itching or else he wouldn’t be able to sleep. Typically, he wakes up about 1-2 times a night because of the itching; but in this case, he was up almost every hour for almost a week straight. This is not acceptable at all! In addition to that, they did not do a good job installing our solar panel. SunRun installed solar panel and damaged my roof, but they won’t take any ownership or responsibility at all. I have neighbors and contractors who witnessed the damage and SunRun didn’t accept their statements. I had to hire my contractor to perform an emergency repair to the damage because it was raining that week. SunRun also claimed that nothing was wrong with the roof when they came back for inspection. However, prior to their inspection, I informed them that I hired my contractor to fix the damage because it was raining that week. They even stated that I did not provide any documents for my claim. What a lie! They gave me the run around and continued to pass me around like a hot potato. One of their managers wanted to meet me and my family in person to personally apologize and compensate us. We scheduled a date and he never showed up. My wife and I waited the whole day for him. No calls or anything. The next day I called the manager to inquire about him not showing up and he tried to deflect my questions. Then, he became irate over the phone. I’ve been back and forth with SunRun for about 6 months with no success at all to this day. I would never want anyone to go through what I’ve been through with this company. No one deserves to be treated like this and I would hate to have to hear another story like this one. I know it’s not going anywhere with them, so I’m here asking the public for help. Please avoid this company.

I would like to share a recent Email that I sent to Sunrun It details some of the experiences that I have had with them. Hi Michael ****, No New issues, just the same ones that Horizon Solar left me with, after their shotty install job. Still have a ghost in my Electrical system, about every 2-3 weeks I have to replace something electric, This week it was the light switch for the back porch lights. 3-weeks ago it was an outlet in my daughter's room, her computer and other items plugged into that outlet stopped working, after some testing we ended up replacing that outlet, again I believe this is the 3rd time we have replaced that outlet since the installation. The Back porch light bulbs, never last more than a few days before they blow out, these are brand new 5000 hour fluorescent bulbs, they last an average of 8-10 days before needing to be replaced. The front porch lights don't work half the time when we turn them on. And the last electrician you guy's sent out here said I had $20-30k Twenty to Thirty Thousand Dollars in damage to my Electrical system, Funny how you guy's just stop talking to me when he reported that, And you sent the account straight to collections instead of trying to fix the problems .... Did you think that all these problems were just going to fix themselves ? Maybe you though I was just making all of this up ? Until your Electrician came back with his report, you probably did think I was making all this up, but even after all of that, Instead of Trying to fix the problems you just sent the account to collections... Did you think we were just going to pay the bill and live with the Damages ??? Your Electrician also said I have something called Ground Leakage, he had measureable current in the grounding rods for the solar system, So if your system Really is working Like you guys say it is , It looks like all of that power is going right into the ground, and I am paying for it !, Before Solar I had a $200-$400 dollar Electrical bill, Now I have a $250-$600 Electrical bill EVERY MONTH, and I have a $212.59 Solar payment TOO... Edison has told me on multiple occasions that this solar system is not working correctly, Your own Electrician told me this system is NOT working correctly, and I have thousands of dollars in damage to my Electrical system, I still have high, Electrical bills Even Higher than before we had solar ? and a $212.59 Solar bill on top of that ? My Roof still leaks, I have sent in several pictures of this Multiple times. My Heater still doesn't work and it's almost winter AGAIN !!! Hot tub was never Reinstalled, now after 3 years of sitting it needs to be replaced, Pumps, lines, valves, all damaged by freezing conditions here in the winter. Backup generator was never installed, Inverter still makes terrible noises that we can hear thru the whole house, Since the day the Second Inverter was installed over 2 years now, the inverter has only recognized 35 of 36 panels, When I told Horizon about this, they referred me to Sunrun, you guy's are supposed to be monitoring this system and you can't see that ? Sunrun should have scheduled a service call to fix this issue years ago, but they didn't, and neither did Horizon Solar. A few days ago, the same day we replaced the back porch light switch, the pool pump stopped working , I can only imagine that it has something to do with all of the Electrical problems we are having... The pool pump is going to be over $1000.00 one thousand dollars to replace, So if I find out it was related to the issues I am having with the electrical system I will have to Charge the replacement and installation of that, to you guy's also. All I am asking is that my house be put back together the right way, Damages fixed, Appliances Replaced, Safety Restored... I am not asking for, the thousands of dollars in lost wages, from the 28+ days I had to take off of work for Horizon Solar to get the system installed. I am not asking for the $2,000 that it cost us to get all the information recovered from the hard drives, that were fried during the installation, so that we could get our Small Business up and running again. I am not asking for the Hundreds of dollars I have already taken out of my pocket for, Switches, Outlets, Bulbs, Tools, lighting fixtures and Appliances. All I am asking for is Everything to be fixed once and for all, to be completely Honest with you, You Guy's ( Sunrun ) have not even made an attempt, to fix anything, you sent one Electrician out here, he gave you some bad news, and now NOBODY wants to own up to Taking Responsibility for the Damages Done to our house. (by the way I am a Residential and Commercial inspector for a living, incase you are wondering why I see every little bit of Damage, Because it's my job...) Hey here's an idea, Maybe you guy's should hire me, to do your post install quality assurance checks... Best John W

We had recently complained about defective panels and finally after months got a wonderful technician who replaced the panels in two days. However, our bill for the year came to over $1600,00 which is a thousand dollars over the projected cost given to us by the salesman when installed. We've had the system for 7 years and expected costs to go up but never have we met the projection cost as it's always higher. Thus, I contacted Sunrun and I was told I had to submit the years bills from Southern California Electric. I did send the bills attn. Danielle P who did not respond.... recontacted to verify that she had received the SCE bills but again no response. Bad business or just rude. Whatever, it's been our whole experience with Sunrun and so wish we had never gone with them as our solar provider.
