In order to fit the needs of almost any customer, Sunrun offers several financing options, including solar leases, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), prepayments, outright purchases, and loans. Sunrun solar lease and PPA options give customers the chance to reap the benefits of a home solar system for zero to little upfront cost. The prepayment option features all of the same benefits as the lease option, except the customer doesn't have to worry about the hassle of monthly payments. 20-Year Maintenance

If customers choose to lease or obtain a PPA, Sunrun will own the system and, therefore, is responsible for all maintenance and repairs of the system. Additionally, Sunrun will refund customers if the panels installed on their roof ever underperform.

Outsourced Installations for Remote Homes

A majority of Sunrun's installations are performed in-house, meaning that Sunrun employees will install the solar systems themselves, which is ideal. Occasionally, the company will contract other installers to work on homes that are too remote for Sunrun itself to reach. While Sunrun does train and approve these third-party contractors before they work on a home, this outsourcing strategy has often led to inconsistencies in performance upon installation. Consequently, customer satisfaction concerning the installation quality and overall experience varies.

Buyers beware when sunrun offers you additional panels they are actually selling you a second contract. Let me share with you what happened to me so it doesn't happen to you. A representative from LGCY Powers / Sunrun came to my home told me that I would benefit with additional panels. Me not realizing that I would be singing a second contract the representative maybe believe that it was an ammendment to the original contract. Never did he state it was an additional contract. Now I'm screwed I have 2 contracts 2 payments for the next 30 years. And now the company is playing stupid with me and will not void the second contract. Can anyone help me with this issue or guide me to the appropriate people to speak with.

When the panels work they are fine. Its been four weeks and about 4 phone calls to customer service. My second dc generator arced and does not produce. Every time I call my ticket goes to high priority or so they say. No one has called to address this issue. I will be phoning again tomorrow. How can the field guys not even call me. Oh yea they are too busy installing panels and too understaffed to do repairs. No longer a fan. Boooooooo. Thumbs down.

Have gone solar since 2/17 and the panels have produced what was promised. Our home is 2500sf with a split existing a/c system (2) outside units. When we purchased the house in 5/16 monthly APS bills averaged about 350$$ a month in the summer and appox 275$$ a month in the winter. We have found that for 8-1/2 months our APS bill is appox 35-50 a month mostly taxes etc. The other 3-1/2 months we're averaging appox 175-325 APS bill. Our goal was to average about 200$ a month year round. We're not quite there yet because our existing A/C units are 13 years old and one will get replaced this winter with a new efficient unit. Anyone thinking you will get 100 percent away from APS forget it they still bill you for many different things. So in a nut shell we're getting what was sold to us and am satisified. Hopefully with the new A/C unit our summer rates will decrease.

when I got it I was told my electric bill would be no more than 11 dollars a month, I have paid over 50 dollares the last 2 month on top of my SunRun bill.

It is has not been very valuable yet. My power bills are still around $100 a month plus my $119 a month to sun run???????

Your utility bill will also detail how much additional energy you needed to purchase from the utility. The sum of the total production from the system and the additional amount purchased from the utility is your total usage. Unfortunately, Sunrun does not have access to the utility company's internal billing and metering, so we cannot tell you how much energy was stored as a credit to them. Since your Sunrun rate is lower than that of your utility, that means you'd be paying even more for your current usage without solar. In other words, you're still saving.

We just had a Sunrun solar system installed in June. Before we signed the paperwork we specifically asked what happens if the system breaks. We were told that Sunrun would take care of everything. We were also told that are only other out of pocket expense would be $6.00 a month to PNM, unless we drew more then what our solar system was producing then the excess would come from PNM. That is fine no problem. Our system broke down August 17th, we were never notified, it was not fixed till Auguest 31. We were then told we would have to pay the full Sunrun bill and the full PNM bill and maybe if we had some some performance credit in two years we would get a refund. And that if happened again we would be expected to pay both PNM and Sunrun again. This was not ever covered in the sales pitch, we asked multi time what would happen if it broke down and were told everything was covered. Spoke with a Supervisor's supervisor who offered to credit us for this occasion but we would be responsible for paying double bills if it happened again in the future.

My system went down for about a week and I had trouble getting in touch with them when I did get a hold of them the system got corrected but they would not credit me for the days my system did not work. Also they told me before the install that it would be 100% off set of my electric bill that has not been the case my last 2 bills have been almost as much before I had SunRun I have only had one bill that was about a 3rd of my bill before Sun Run

I wish there was more immediate information on their site, My Sun Run, available to me. I know others who have Sun Run and they can access all kinds of real time information, how much they are producing, what amount APS is buying. I find all I get is bare bones information, How many Kwh produced the day before.I find it hard to judge what kind of service I am getting with such limited information.

Everything was great with installation, but process didn't necessarily go as stated. Also, think we should have increased the number of panels due to not producing enough kilowatts.

They have provide excellent customer service the 2 years I have been with them, including a credit back when my system did not perform to the expectations due to a wire that was disconnected. The crew came in, assessed the problem, repaired it and gave me a credit. I am very pleased with the quick response and quality of their work.

Inconsistent sales information, sloppy and dangerous site inspection (left breaker box cover just sitting in place without replacing bolts to secure the cover and left blank circuit covers off and laying on the ground). Did not measure the garage even asking the technician if he did and he said yes he did measure the garage. I told the technician that the garage was the preferred location of the solar panels. A second site inspection for measuring the garage and battery-inverter placement was then required delaying the whole process.

We pay $166 a month for panels. We keep our thermostat, in brand new house at 79! We still paid $300 to power company in july! Wont help with all the roosting birds under and around panels.

Hello Mark, thank you for your communication. Keep in mind that the size of your utility bill is based on your usage. If your bill is higher than last year, you may be using more power than last year. Since your Sunrun rate is lower than that of your utility, that means you'd be paying even more for your current usage without solar. In other words, you're still saving. Remember that solar is seasonal. The panels will produce more during the sunnier months and less during the winter. Over the course of 12 months, you will still be saving. While Sunun takes care of system insurance, maintenance and production, Sunrun’s warranty does not cover wildlife issues. If you’re interested, we can recommend a local partner of ours in your area who offers a service to install a critter guard around the perimeter of the array to prevent animals from getting under the panels.

We’ve had our solar panels about a month now, and after the first week, it broke down. So we’re still waiting for it to be repaired. So most likely I’ll be paying my full electric bill, along with my full lease payment. I do give the sales guy, Michael 5 Stars

Very disappointed with this company. Should have looked into other companys beforehand. They installed older model panels with lower kwh than other companys and I am not producing enough electricity. They also miscalculated my energy use and did not install enough panels. I am paying more for electricity now than before having them installed. I call them frequently and never receive a reponse in a timely manner

The worst experience ever. The sales person only cares about getting the contract signed and have the install completed so that they can get paid. They pretty much not responding to any issues or questions. Moreover, Sunrun kept my huge downpayment and refuse to transfer to Loanpal, which is their financing partner. No one from Sunrun is taking any responsibility of the mess up. In addition, the sales person, promised a lot but only fulfill a fraction of the list. He completely avoided answering phone calls, emails, text messaging. Very unprofessional when it comes to dealing with issues. The whole take away is this, if you enjoy doing everything on your own, babysitting all the Sunrun staff and get no where, then select Sunrun.
