Thank you for your communication. The Sunrun invoice will have the total amount produced. Your utility bill will show how much excess energy was pushed to the utility grid and stored as a credit. Your utility bill will also detail how much additional energy you needed to purchase from the utility.

Keep in mind that the size of your utility bill is based on your usage. If your bill is higher than last year, you may be using more power than last year. Since your Sunrun rate is lower than that of your utility, that means you'd be paying even more for your current usage without solar. In other words, you're still saving.

Buyers Beware! Right from the start there were problems. Not minor glitches either, but major discrepancies with what we were told by the sales person and what actually happened. The sales person initially stated it would only take a 7-10 days for installation to be scheduled and completed. However, it was well over 4 months before installation was completed. During the initial consultation, the sales person told us to submit 3 months of our previous electric bills and claimed he padded our regular usage by 1.5 times what our usage history demonstrated. He boasted this would be a huge cost savings, which we were happy to hear, being retirees and living on a fixed income. The sales person explained that as long as we didn’t go over our new set point for allocated usage, we would never again receive a bill from Edison. He then reiterated the only time we would ever receive a bill from Edison, is if we used more electricity than we generated each day, yet every month since the system was installed, we have received a bill from Edison for miscellaneous charges.. in fact our cost for electricity is now $40 a month higher with solar than it was without. Another issue we encountered was we were offered to add on to our order a battery back up so in the event of an outage we would have access to the power we generated that was to be stored as a back up resource, however sometime after the battery back up was installed, we learned through observation of the equipment, not collecting power. After calling in to customer service we were informed that 1. the battery was defective and would need to be replaced, and 2. they decided to change the manner in which the battery back up is intended to work. Now it was set to discharge whatever had been stored throughout the day, starting every night at approximately 4pm, to address peak hour electrical usage, so as to reduce the impact of higher rates being assessed by Edison… READ THAT AGAIN AND MAKE IT MAKE SENSE - we are generating 1.5 times MORE of our own electricity, than we had ever previously used, without solar, but now we have to worry about electrical usage fees during peak hours?! Next was the main board outage that was obviously not being properly monitored by SunRun, which while out in the backyard one night I noticed a steady red light, which intuitively seemed to be a visual alert that wasn’t there when the system was first installed. No one from SunRun noticed the system wasn’t working, instead we had to call customer service to ask why it didn’t seem like the system was functioning properly… they told us they’d have a repair team out right away, but even that took 3 days… Next is the billing mixup and the rude accusations from collections, aggressively harassing us, rather than taking the time to review all the transactions and explain where they were arriving at the discrepancy. We made dozens of phone calls requesting to escalate the matter of harassment, but no one called us back… we eventually went through all of our statements to figure out what happened and resolved the billing matter ourselves, no thanks to SunRun customer support. Finally, the (verbally) undisclosed annual rate increase that we only became aware of when the monthly billing statement price had increased. If we had it all to do over again, it would be a resounding “thanks, but no thanks” from us.

This company has no integrity. They prey specifically on the elderly. They give a great presentation, giving all the positives of having solar. They leave out all the major problems with the contract they will have you hurry up and sign. Bottom line is they are selling you a binding 25 year lease. You cannot get out of this or sell your home unless a buyer is willing to take over the lease or you have to pay Sunrun an astronomical price to get out of the lease.(much more than the solar system is worth) It took them almost a year to install. Delays, proven parts that had to be reordered, etc, etc. They installed it wrong and I was then billed almost 4 times what I should have been billed. Multiple times during the process I told them to just forget it and take it out. (See next paragraph) Good luck communicating with them. I sent emails and got an automated response that they would get back with me within 24 hours. I never heard from them. I tried calling numerous times. You are passed from person to person and then placed on eternal hold. When they come back on the line they tell you that you need to talk to a specific person. Unfortunately, that person is never available. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told they would not talk to me. They promised someone would call by the end of the day. No one ever called.

Would not recommend Sunrun to anyone. Their customer service is the worst at best. The sales dept. tells you what you want to hear and then when you sign the contract you will never have any kind of support from them. They out source everything from service to customer service. The language barrier on the phone is difficult. The wait to talk to anyone at customer service is nothing but long. I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding an unsolved issue and it took 40 minutes to get to speak to her. She said she would email me the info I needed to proceed with this issue. Never got an email. One star does not even come close to how awful this company is.

1. System advertised and designed was not installed as per discussions, battery was suppose to be installed in garage for safety reasons, they installed it in the basement. 2. System does not do what I was told. Battery was suppose to work along side solar to help reduce dependence of grid, the battery will only go on when there is no grid power. 3. monthly payment was changed from 302 to 352 then another change in 18 months. to 501, none of this was discussed. I was send a form with my signature that i never saw and had. I spoke with two other people who where going through them and they also never saw that form either. 4. Has failed electrical inspection no main cut off switch. 5. Lied to about refer program. was told it was 1000 per person. I referred 2 people and was told that I was only getting 1 person for 500. 6. System percentage isn't going to be what they said after i spoke with a third party about what was going on.

We are truly disappointed in Sunruns'practice to honor the referral we were promised. The salesperson who sold us the system even contacted his company and informed them that they were wrong in not honoring the $1,000 referral that was initially promised. From this point on we will not refer Sunrun to any of our associates or friends. We've spoken to various individuals from the company to no avail. I previously served for over 32 years in the military, and honoring one's word brings a higher level of respect. Trust means everything....

Sunrun is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. My father signed a contract with him and then got cancer and died. They won't let me out of the contract. Every other contract he had signed or business he was involved with was understanding, but not this one. Dealing with them has been absolute garbage since the day I took over. And now they're insisting I either pay them $5000 to end his contract or sign a contract with them. I don't want to sign anything with such a vile, awful company. Ive been on the phone with them for 20 minutes this morning trying to figure out why I got a letter saying I'm 0 days past due on a $0 payment so they're shutting off the service and I have to pay out the rest of the contract now. And the best part is, my electric bill is still super high! I seriously cannot stress enough how terrible this company is.

BUYER BEWARE!! I would like to give NO STARS! This company lacks in maintaining and inspecting your solar panels- ours have leaked as a result of such negligence. We did have a private company come out to assess why it was happening. In over 5 years they have not been once inspected, nor maintained. In addition, communication or lack there of, has been awful. We had to schedule an appointment for one of their team members to come out as our roof was leaking into our attic… TWO MONTHS LATER during the rainy season. Well, they have now rescheduled 4 times. Nov. 14th, Nov. 22nd afternoon then rescheduled for the morning, AND NOW Dec. 4th. This last time they sent out a message confirming this date WHICH WE NEVER AGREED TO! Honestly the worst company. If you are thinking about going with them, you may want to think twice. I can send you the emails as proof— I would hate for anyone else to be coerced into buying/leasing their panels from a company who truly does NOT value their customers, or their homes. They are eager to put them on your house, yet not so eager to help you if the cause damage.

After signing the contract, they became increasingly unresponsive to our calls and messages, providing vague excuses for the delays. This lack of communication left us feeling neglected and frustrated. False Statements and Design Mistake: They initially mentioned that our contract had been voided without providing a clear explanation, only to later mention that a new one had been sent. These conflicting statements were confusing and eroded our trust. Furthermore, it has come to our attention that a significant portion of the delay was caused by a mistake in the system design, which was originally based on my neighbor’s roof and not ours. Now even after 15 months, our solar has not been activated yet. Avoid this company, avoid them for the sake of your family and your property

Didn't get things as promised. Made a mess of the house with pipes and equipment running all over the roof and on both ends of the house. Very ugly. 2nd day after hook up we lost power to half the house and Sunrun failed to respond to us for 5 days! Leaving us in the dark without any idea of how long we'd be without electricity. We actually spoke to 5 different people who said they'd "get back to us" but no one did. Then they messed up the paperwork, repeatedly. (I cancelled 2nd house order.) No one set us up about how to see the account or run the equipment. Several employees told us we needed to install the Tesla app, but their access wouldn't work, then our "project manager" scolded us for trying to use the Tesla app (our battery is Tesla) and said we should use Sunrun app. Can't access and, again, no response from Sunrun. Now they're hounding me about signing a form that says I'm not getting an EV when I repeatedly told my sales rep we ARE going to get an EV. I won't sign until they answer my questions and explain this contract they want, but they WILL NOT RESPOND. It's been months and months of not getting any responses to anything. Now I'm getting "past due" payment notices, but have never received a bill! Of course, no response to this either. I deeply regret going with Sunrun and wish I'd done more research before signing with them because now I see all kinds of warnings about them from neighbors on Nextdoor.

I signed for my solar panel to be put in 2017. In 2018 I had them put in and I have not had a decreased electricity bill since that time. I have called and due to me not being able to be there on an 0800 to 1700 schedule Monday through Friday, they had no service for me. I final stop working a full time job and 2023 and they said the problem was the control panel. The electricity bill has not to this day come down to the quoted price before signing the leasing contract of $50.00. My bills are always. $200.00 or more. To get out of the contract, I have to Pay $16,083.00. What a bunch of crap.

I HAVE AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY, NO ONE EXPLAINED TO ME HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS. NONE OF WHAT I AM CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH WAS EXPLAINED TO ME AND NONE OF IT ACTUALLY FITS MY NEEDS. NO ONE EXPLAINED WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS WHEN GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS. WHOEVER DESIGNED MY PLANS AND INSTALLED MY PANELS DID SO UNDER THE GUISE THAT MY CURRENT ENERGY CONSUMPTION WOULD COVERED UNDER THE SOLAR PANEL PLAN I WAS GIVEN. THIS WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME OR EXPLAINED. NO ONE CARES THAT I WAS GIVEN A PLAN THAT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME WITH VERBIAGE THAT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME. NO ONE CARES THAT I WAS GIVEN A PLAN THAT THE ONLY WAY IT MAKES ANY SENSE TO HAVE IS TO REDUCE MONTHLY CONSUMPTION DRASTICALLY. IF NOT I ACTUALLY WILL PAY NEARLY DOUBLE WHAT MY UTILITY BILL IS. NO SALES REP EXPLAINED THIS, NO ONE AT THE COMPANY CAN EXPLAIN THIS IN A MANNER THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE FOR ME AS A CUSTOMER TO HAVE.

Would like to see you offer ability to retrofit battery into existing solar system. This Should be simple. I have had other companies offer quotes to do this, knowing that Sun Run does not. Also, it took about 9 months from first contact to install/activation. Issue was town permits and architectural review., not sun run.

Buyer Beware of Sunrun. While a solar system is based on their KW "production" not your KW "usage" like the electric company and the solar cost $ per KW is less then the electric company what Sunrun did to run up my bill was over installing the # of solar panels I needed. Sunrun installed (32) panels for my 1667 SQ Ft house + pool with a south facing roof so the system is overproducing the amount of KW that I actually need so I am now paying Sunrun more than I was paying the electric company by at least $50 per month on an avg Sunrun solar bill of $300 mo vs $249 for the electric company. Additionally, it took 1 year for the electric company to make the adjustments to my monthly bill so I paid both bills for 1 year and finally got a credit from the electric co of $1,415 for 1 yr overbilling. When I asked Sunrun to help they said it was not their problem and when I asked for my Sunrun mo bill due date to be changed by 2 days to help my double payment issues, they flat-out refused. Bottom line I would not trust Sunrun on the number of panels needed. When I walk around my So CA neighborhood I have 2x as many panels as all my neighbors and we have a lot of solar installs on houses with pools here. I am a single woman home owner so not sure thats why I got ripped off so bad but I did... so beware of how they run up your bill.

Inverter stopped functioning within 6 years of use. Have waited over 3 months for Sunrun to address the issue while our system remains down in the high production months. They estimate over 2 months for the inverter to arrive (could be 6 months?!) and up to 30 days to schedule installation ("depends on region" and no ability to provide a better estimate). The service is untimely and the communication has been pitiful. After sending emails for weeks and receiving no response, I spent 40 minutes on hold and speaking to an overseas agent without a clue (not her fault) only to finally reach a "case manager" who confirmed that indeed an inverter was on order and that we could wait a couple more months before the system would be functioning again.

I am very surprised how disjointed this company is. My first salesman was good at presentation and understanding his product. I signed a contract with him, then he left the company. It has been a joke ever since. My new sales person was nice but when he tried to put his name on my contract he voided my contract and could not get it back on the system for me to see. Implementation called and said the contract was active regardless. However, it was not accurate with my expectations of what I signed. They proceeded to get the county approval for installation from the county. Then the contract person called and confirmed my contract was what I expected. HOWEVER, I just got an automated email that said they were sorry that I was cancelling my contract and would I do a survey. Really? I have cash in hand and their automated system is cancelling me! You really want me to answer a survey at this point? Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. I've never seen a company that is this poorly run. If I didn't have an approval from the county (they only thing I worried about) I would change companies.

Salesman did a good job of selling the leasing plan. He got my social security number to calculate my credit score. He also got my checking account information to make required automatic leasing payments after installation. This information is stored on his computer. (Has my personal identity information now been comprised and no longer safe because...) A technician came to my home and reported that my roof was inadequate for installation. Then after all of this the salesman emailed that Sunrun will not install on roofs more than 10 years old. The salesman could have saved me and his company a lot of time by telling me about the 10 year requirement from the get-go. I have several years of life left on my existing roof. Now I am concerned about the safety of my personal identity.

I had a solar system installed on my property in Jan. 2019. It was sold through Horizon Solar who is under contract with Sunrun. They came out to the house and laid it out and installed the system in about 3 days. Very professional. It was after they left the problems started. They told me that they were going to leave materials (5) 2"x 10"x 16' boards and a piece of metal trim 10' long in front of my property. They said a bigger truck would pick it next week. That was fine. I left the country and did not return till the first of May. While I was gone my neighbor was watching my home and taking in the mail. She contacted me at one point and said the sprinkler system for part of the yard was not working. I told her I would check it when I returned home. Went to get my mail the following day that I returned and noticed they had not removed the material from my property. I contacted the salesman about this and I also told him I had not received the Incentive Chk. For $1768.00 which was supposed to take 4 to 6 wks. to process and it was now more than 12 wks. The salesman said I would have to contact the head office. I thought maybe the sprinkler system was a stuck valve. Pulled the cover off the valves and turned on the system. Nothing, so I tapped each valve. The valve kicked in and I heard a rumble then water started shooting everywhere. Turned it off and that is when I found as I was digging that the pipes were all broken. They had filled the trench and I am guessing that I would have it fixed. Oh the concrete patch job they did on the side walk looks like crap also. I contacted Sunrun help desk and told my story to a person in that department. He said the incentive check was not part of Sunrun. He thought it was through the company they sub contract with. He did say they would contact Horizon Solar to find out what they were doing in regards to the removal of the material and repairs to the sprinkler system. Sent him and Horizon photos. I then called Horizon. They said the Incentive checks were now taking 8 to 12 wks. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Was told one would have to call me back & they never did. I also told both companies about the sprinkler system. They did have another company contact me saying they were a sub for Horizon and they would be out in 10 days to fix everything. A worker did show up. He said he was not told what was wrong. He said his truck was too small to remove the material & someone else would have to come with a bigger truck. We then went to where the sprinkler system was. I showed him where they had used the trenching machine and broken the pipes when they trenching. I have photos showing where they back filled the trench. It had settled and you can see where it went through the grass an into the flower bed and next to the main valve system for the sprinklers. What made me mad was they threw away the broken pieces and covered everything back up like nothing had happened. The guy could not figure how the pipes were connected and did not have the material to try and fix the system so he would have to come back. That was 4 wks. ago & have not seen him again. I have been watering everything with a hose which is a big job as it is a big yard. The salesmen brought the incentive check out on June 3rd. He saw what had happened said be patient. I have contacted an attorney and have an appointment to see if I can cancel the contract and have them remove their equipment. Have also contacted the better Business Bureau and am in the process of filing a complaint with them.

Do Not get into this process expecting it will be a quick turnaround for your service turn-up. do not expect good communication from your coordinator/manager, and do not expect any form of competence from their installation teams. i started my process in January 2019, it is now May 2019, and construction completed first week of March 2019. you may ask why it has taken so long, well it is because their project management is completely mediocre, their communication is almost non-existent, and their construction teams forget too many things. here is a timeline of this "install": January - Signed contract - was advised this would be up and running by May 1st, and start being billed June 1st so i could skip the outrageous prices of my local provider. first week of March - construction completed (was promised someone would be out for inspection within 1-2 weeks max) first week of April - oh no we realized that we forgot to submit pictures of our work to the inspectors to get the inspection scheduled, this will take more time. Mid April - photos sent out first inspection failed completely they used the wrong wires. late April - Failed second inspection (have no idea why) May 7th - Third Inspection (today in fact) - hopefully this one passes because there are still 2 other steps before i can even turn it on and start producing. this has been a complete mess with no accountability from sunrun.
