I wish I had read the fine print prior to getting this card. Synchrony bank along with a few others are not worth the money one pays them monthly. First, they decreased my credit limit and sent a letter stating that months after. I contacted them and asked and the customer service staff was rude in explaining that I had not been making payments on time. That was a lie. So come in 2023 they closed my account. Now I am paying them off in a few months and will say good riddance! When applying for credit, read the fine print and make sure one stays clear of this bank. They are terrible! Please read the fine print. I am waiting for a class action lawsuit against these clowns!

To put it politely, the Mafia uses less aggressive tactics to fleece money from people. The credit card consistently "creates" new charges on a monthly basis that I have to spend hours fighting to remove. I've been successful in removing the charges, but why does Synchrony continually create "deferred interest" or "net interest" charges? The answer is simple: most people don't view their statement, so the charges stick. Furthermore, the website is primitive and difficult to navigate; for example, I can't view any statements online because "I didn't sign up for e-statements" . . . huh? I can't end the autopay option on my account . . . why - no answer from customer service! The list goes on and on . . . DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE!

If we could give a zero/no-star rating, we would. At the very least, when you speak to a human, they are nice people & sincerely seem to want to help, not that anything ever gets resolved. Outside of that, not so much. We have many credit cards that converted over to Synchrony some time ago. Online access to those accounts has been nothing less than a nightmare, each & every month. We have to struggle to login, use the USELESS live chat, call-in for support &/or change our password nearly every time we attempt access each month on every account. A complete cluster! The latest? On two of our open & active accounts (same creditor), Synchrony has replaced all e-statements with disclosures & can’t seem to explain why or where the statements are now located. So now we have no way of viewing or downloading the actual e-statements (which, by the way, were all present & accounted for last month!). Synchrony Bank is completely irresponsible & should be taken down by a firing squad!

I had a really good relationship with synchrony bank. I have three different credit cards with high credit limits had them for years never been late we went and bought two new trucks for our business and of course, with interest rates as high as they are these days I shopped with multiple banks to get the best rate on both trucks after doing that on every single credit card synchrony Didn’t even send me an email I went to use my cards and they all got declined called synchrony and they lowered my credit limit one card 7800 to 280 second card $9000 to 230 and third card $10,000 to 3250 which Only reason they lowered it to that was because I had a that as a balance for a 0% for 12 months offer. When I called to ask what happened they told me due to my credit report, not having a real estate account which my house is paid for and multiple inquiries. They classify me as a high risk even though I’ve been with them for years none of my payments are late and my credit score is in the upper 700s One of the worst banks I’ve ever had will never do business with them again.

Lack of communication his correct. I was informed to use my debit card online to pay my bill, only to receive a noticed days later the payment did not go through. Thinking it was an error on my side all payments were made again only to have the same outcome. After speaking to a customer rep for the 3rd time was I only able to get the information that you can only use a debit card via phone, not online. Online you have to enter the actual checking account. Closed all accounts even though all accounts are paid in full or up to date due to the multiple payments not going through. All because their communication was inaccurate. No I am not even able to go online to pay other than a guest as they closed the accounts which closes the online registration. Have to make payments as a guest. Synchrony is fortunate they partner with these companies as stand alone they are terrible.

If possible, I would give a -1000 Rating. They are a scam. I took a loan for care credit for a dental procedure( the doctor made me sign up for it saying it's interest-free) for $6200; after paying it for almost three years and the principal amount coming down to 3800 this January, Synchrony added another $2900 saying that that was promotional APR. They charged another 29% APR from the day I signed up for the loan, saying it was deferred interest. It's such a scam, folks. Terrible customer service. Never again will I approach Synchrony BANK for my financial needs. I paid off around 6K today; I hope they won't come up with another story again to scam me.

Synchrony Bank has the worst customer service by FAR!!! If I could give a negative 500 star review...trust me, I would. I indirectly became a victim of their terrible customer service 2 years ago when I was making a large purchase for camera equipment through B&H in New York City. On the website they had an offer for a Payboo Credit card by Synchrony Bank. If you applied for the card and got it, you could make a B & H purchase with the card and you didn't have to pay any sales tax. It would have saved me several hundred dollars. I applied for the card several times and was denied, even though I have a credit score above 800. I couldn't get anyone on the phone and there was no online customer service support. The only way to contact them was to type letters, send them through the mail, and wait 10-14 days for a response like it was pre-WW II. The written responses were vague and didn't help with any of the issues I was having. After several weeks of back and forth I never got the card and ended up paying several hundred dollars in additional sales tax. You know the bank is awful when your only recourse is to send letters through the mail. My last letter was blistering...a profanity laced tirade where I hit them with 12 barrels of verbal 00 buckshot. Don't EVER do business with Synchrony!!!!!!!!

Synchrony Bank has terrible customer service in my opinion! I have their Sams Club Credit Card, which had fraudulent charges on it. I use this card for EVERYTHING! When I first talked to the fraudulent department, I was told they were canceling my account, would rush me a new card since I use it so much. I should receive it on Saturday, April 8. This is Monday, April 10 and I have no card. When I called back to the fraud dept., I was told no rush was put on it and I can expect is in 7-10 days from today, which is when it was sent out. I have had this card for two years, always paid in full, never late. I am canceling this card and starting over with a new company. So frustrating!!

I was a loyal customer of Lowes and held their "Advantage Card" which was backed by Synchrony. I spent thousands of dollars and always kept a good standing with them. I had a $0 balance on an $8000 limit and purchased a new dishwasher for just shy of $750. Out of nowhere, they lowered my credit from $8000 to $750 (what a coincidence) causing a credit card utilization of 95%. Thanks to this outrageous incident, my credit score dropped by 15 points. I paid the card off and refuse to shop with Lowes until they change their card service. I suggest anyone interested in one of their card offerings beware of this extremely shady business practice. Thankfully I was in a position to take care of this issue right away, but there are a lot of people out there that are not in my same situation. So, with that, I will say bye Felicia to both Synchrony and Lowes until they change providers.

The last 14 years of my legal career were spent working for 3 of the largest lenders in the U.S. I applied for 12 month, interest free, financing, (free money is good money) for installation of a new home theater system, After submitting the credit application I was required to use Synchrony's lame website based "verification" system. Worst system ever. Spend 5 hours over two days on the phone with the verification department trying to use the system. Involved two levels of management, none of whom could get its system to work. Ended up sending photo I.D. and bill with name and address by overnight mail instead. Just received card in mail today. Called activation number, was automatically transferred to a live person and was advised that the insurance bill I submitted was rejected. They wanted a utility bill. The people I spent 5 hours on the phone never mentioned it had to be a utility bill. I have not decided what action I will take at this point but beware, you are dealing with the stupidest group of people I have ever encountered in banking and I have encountered quite a few. The inmates are running the asylum at this bank.

If you haven't read it a thousand times yet....they are predatory in the way they conduct their business. I do not aim for minimum payments but sometimes while juggling it becomes necessary. Don't pay minimums with synchrony. On my account the minimum never covers the "card security" and interest fee resulting in every minimum payment actually raising your balance. In the future I will ensure that I have no credit accounts associated with synchrony. They will never get my money again and I'll do everything I can to prevent those I know from making the same mistakes. Also block their numbers unless you want over 35 calls a day (that was an average within 3 days of a late payment).

I had a previous account with Synchrony Bank. I paid this account in full within six months. It was a total of $7000 and it was paid off early without penalty per the contractual agreement. A year and a half later, I decided I wanted to purchase a musical instrument and my only option to finance was through synchrony bank. They approved me not for the entire purchase price, as I requested the full credit to purchase the instrument, but they were $37 short of the actual total. This was something not mentioned until I attempted to make the purchase some time later when the instrument came in stock. When it came time to pay for the musical instrument, I was denied because there was not enough money to cover the purchase amount on the credit account that I got from synchrony bank for this purchase. I then had to ask for a credit increase of $37 making the total credit $5337. They denied the increase. (important note: the $37 was not the issue, the issue was the credit extended was supposed to cover the entire purchase price) The reason they gave in their letter for the denial was debt to income ratio. However, when I received the copies of my three credit reports for free, I knew something wasn't right. I contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who handles these types of issues and according to my assigned case worker at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, my debt to income ratio was not an issue according to the standard numbers she ran. My income was more than sufficient and closer to exceeding than not meeting the criteria from what the case worker told me. My lowest credit score was 747 on the three reports as this was clearly not an issue either. I filed charges with them against Synchrony Bank for discriminatory credit practice . I am writing this to you today, because I was just informed that my case has also now been put onto an existing class-action lawsuit against synchrony bank. My point is; if you are in the right, speak up and follow through. In this case, there is a reason why a class action lawsuit was in place and even if one didn't exist, your situation may be one of the catalyst to begin one against companies taking advantage of people like us.

Worst financial company ever! RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS company. Their system dropped my checking account information after I sent them payment and then they said that I was NSF! Then, they charged me NSF fees. I called and used a different payment method and received confirmation that they posted the second payment. Then, for no discernible reason, they sent that payment back. And they charged me additional fees for that payment! I then spoke to a supervisor who admitted that their system drops payments often. There is a communication error in their system and when payments don’t post as expected, fees accrue, even though it’s their IT department’s fault! The supervisor then took a third payment for the March statement and assured me that there would be no additional fees or issues. That payment did go through but a week later, I received an alert from my credit monitoring company that there was a negative report on my credit score. It was Synchrony. They closed my account due to the NSF that was their fault! And it dropped my credit score by 34 points! Additionally, upon reviewing my closed Synchrony account, I discovered that I was charged an additional fee for the supervisor processing my payment in person! In trying to get this fixed, I have spent hours and days on the phone with them. The standard customer service response is to blame the customer. THEY KNOW they have a FAULTY ACCOUNTING SYSTEM AND THEY BLAME THE CUSTOMER AND PENALIZE THE CUSTOMER ANYWAY. When confronted with the facts, they simply stonewall and continue blaming the customer. That is their PRACTICE and POLICY. Thousands of people have complained about their practices. There are even class action lawsuits against them now. RUN. RUN FAR AWAY FROM SYNCHRONY BANK!

I would give a negative review if available. After calls to fix the automatic payment on my account a few months ago, synchrony bank still can not get it right. When I called in this time, the rep Diana wants to argue what my conversation was a few months ago that I had with a male representative. When I told her she wasn't there in the conversation and that I want to pay and close my QVC account ...she continued on that i didnt have the conversation and she hung up on me. Having to call back through the automated system where you have to say customer service 6 different times to get through...a rep answers the phone but doesn't greet or say anything, I feel that it was Diana that answered as they can see the phone number. There is no person on the line but the phone call was live as the seconds were ticking on my phone screen. Very childish! This, of course, then causes another phone call through the automated system. Then rep: John fixes it all..funny thing is they had the right account number on file the whole time but the automaticpayment didnt go through Hummm ... I made a complaint to Vella who said that she was an account manager and I believe that she didn't care one way or another that a customer of 10 plus years closed their account. She had really nothing to offer and I believe the complaint went on deaf ears. So just saying, their customer service sucks!! Oh, and I did tell John that I hope Diana gets the poops on the way home and hits each red light...darn I forgot to tell that to the account manager but I'm sure they will hear it in the recording. Beware, if Diana answers the phone...she is there for the paycheck and not to help people..you will get hung up on! They don't care about the people.

There is absolutely NOTHING to like regarding synchrony credit card services...The worst customer service, pathetic website, you can't even access statements. I closed our Ashley Furniture Advantage card but could never get it removed from the account website which shares Lowe's, Belk, and Amazon store card...which, by the way is idiotic...I compare them with Chase, who has the best website I have ever encountered! I simply wanted to remove the the card from the account site...no big deal...right? Yeah...the story is to long to describe... just ridiculous. So depending where you shop, for me, Lowe's, Belks, Amazon store card and "If'n" you have PayPal credit, it's synchrony...They offer many more retail store cards. Do-Not-Use ANY store card that offer credit through synch'y deadheads credit! They will hound you with "promotional" deals like alleged no "interest"...it's bs, do not by into it...walk the **** away...do not give them your business...they suck! Only thing I would give them...my finger and my cats litter box ☢️❗

Worst customer service you can ever find at a financial institution. You will never encounter any problem to deposit into you Synchrony Bank account, but good luck trying to get any transfer out of your account because they will make you go through hoops. A supervisor just hung up on me saying I can't do a wire transfer from my Synchrony bank into an external bank account, both under my name, because their system is not validating my phone number, so even though I need the transfer today, she said I need to wait for a letter that I can expect in 5-7 business days in my snail mail, and call back. Then she hung up.

I have never had a good experience with Synchrony Bank. Staring with Wal-Mart statements. Just an amount to pay without any kind of list of what was bought. Just take their word for it, this is what you owe. They have been trying to collect a Lowe's payment from me for that was paid for a year now. I sent them proof of payment from my bank and they still will not stop. My credit score has dropped a hundred points and my borrowing power has dropped 60%. They closed my personal and business account for Lowe's. This is insane! They say they can see where the discrepancy is and STILL won't fix it. Now I have to take it to litigation.

I have bought tires from Discount Tire and also several major items from Lowes dealing with Synchrony Bank as a credit card; the 5% incentive was OK, but honestly... when I went to JC Penney recently, they had discounts using ONLY Synchrony's Master Card, and I easily qualified, but then... while I made the payment in full, I NEVER RECEIVED THEIR CARD! You NEED the card info to send a payment on-line, but also even at the JC PENNEY STORE! Their people at JCP are less than helpful anyway, even buying things, but making a payment was not possible there! So, I mailed a check for the small amount I owed, but it failed to be delivered by the date it was due (mailed it going to their Orlando office a week in advance!). Several weeks later the dated check was received, so whether the PO or JCP screwed up, who knows! The late ordeal cost me hours of phone and transit time, and in the end also a $2 late fee! I HAVE EXCELLENT CREDIT, but also it was not late! Now, hopefully they will send my refund as they finally said they got my check (I never pay by check for credit) and I closed the JC Penney account! Watch these guys... JCP I suspect is the real problem, but the offices for Synchrony are in Orlando, and I am currently just 13 miles from the PO There! If you MUST shop at a JCP store, use your most faithful bank credit card... forget the lousy 5% as it likely will cost you more in time and extra effort than it's worth!

I only gave one star because there's no way you can leave a minus if there were I'd give it a minus 10 for their customer service nothing but a nightmare trying to make payments with this company. Ours was for a piece of lawn equipment Finance through Lowe's with the Synchrony Bank don't do it just don't do it not worth the aggravation every single time trying to make a payment turned into a 3-hour ordeal avoid this company at all costs no offense but you will always get a call center from the Philippines with people who do not know how to press buttons to make the correct entries on a computer. Customer number always wrong payment amount always wrong they will take out two payments they will charge you a finance charge on a payment. Nothing but bad news

So i found out that in Saturday for no reason my account was closed no matter that my transunion credit is good, not one single missed payment, but they closed my account THEN notified me. After it does my credit score. When i called today the woman could not give me a viable reason as to why it was closed. No matter that i bought one set of furniture, went back bought another price of furniture and recently went to look had ANOTHER set picked out to buy. When i went to get the last set quoted found out they had lowered the amount i had been approved to be able to use. Even though the last set would have been paid for in FULL on purchase day. And the lady tried to convince me that i wouldn't be paying more in interest. But shes right, they closed the account so i paid it off, AND WILL NEVER USE ANY BUISNESS THAT GOES THROUGH SYNCHRONY, AND WILL LET ALL MY FAMILY N FRIENDS KNOW TO DO THE SAME. POOR BUISNESS ETHIC I BELIEVE, ALL THEY DID WAS LOOSE A CUSTOMER, (who would have continued to purchase through them). BUT THAT'S OK IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO KEEP THEIR CLIENTS BUISNESS.

BEWARE OF SYNCHRONY BANK On January 20, I invested $100,000 at 4.6% interest with Synchrony. This transaction was verified with my bank. The agent told me the transaction was complete. Weeks later I received a letter dated Feb. 3 that indicated I had to complete the process. On Feb. 14, I spoke with Renita. She told me that Synchrony was in error since the transaction had been verified. She asked if I still wanted the investment. I told her yes, if it would be backdated to 1/20. I told her I would also increase the amount to $200,000. She said she would call me personally within three days to confirm. She did not. Instead, I received an email stating that the money had been withdrawn from my bank and invested in Synchrony. On 2/21 I spent about 70 minutes either speaking with an agent that could or would do nothing, and then on hold for a so-called supervisor. Finally, an agent told me that Renita had to return my call in 3 days. I told her it had been 7 days, She used all kinds of excuses explaining how 7 days does not equal three business days. She said Renita was still waiting for an answer before calling me. Of course, I never heard from her or anyone else from Synchrony again. Then she tells me that the investment was denied. What kind of a company makes a mistake on an investment, and instead of correcting their errors and apologizing, they just cancel the entire transaction? I have never received an email or letter indicating my $200,000 had been transferred or cancelled from my bank. Synchrony has not allowed me to speak with a senior official, despite my repeated requests.

So, I found out on Friday that my account with Care Credit had been closed with no notification from Synchrony Bank via email, text, call or mail. I didn't understand why and called them on today. Synchrony Bank closed my account in June 2022 that I had with them for over three years, with no late payments ever, no payments due ever, and nothing owed to them at this time based on a credit report that was received by them from Transunion. I asked the representative why did Synchrony Bank pull a credit report on me after having been with them for over three years, the representative stated to me that Synchrony Bank automatically receives these reports every month from the credit bureaus and based on what Transunion stated they denied me credit and closed an account that had been open and in good standing with them for over three years,. Did you Synchrony Bank forget that everyone is suffering from the fallout of Covid 19 and still recovering and I am still trying to find out how they received a credit report when my account has a fraud alert on it from the breech of a certain credit reporting agency and had a freeze on it? Neither Synchrony Bank nor Transunion had permission to access my account without calling me (Transunion and asking my permission if my credit report could be accessed by any company, so one of these companies also broke the law, that is criminal. I also stated to the representative why I didn't receive notice of this decision via mail, phone, email or text from Synchrony Bank, the young lady stated one was sent out, I stated to her no, I never received any type of notification from Synchrony Bank stating my account had been closed, the representative stated to me that she would email me one today, I stated to her, no, I didn't want it, it was to late for that now, I already new. I want to say to you Synchrony Bank, what you did was criminal, dirty, underhanded and sneaky, if this is the way you treat loyal customers after over three years I want to warn and let anyone and everyone know that based on your character and treatment towards me you are not worthy to be in business, your account is closed.

Trying to pay a bill with them is a nightmare. They sent me email links to pay the bill but the link was to an insecure site. I didn't want to use it. My sister was in ICU for 8 1/2 weeks and I just got back from her funeral. I had to do some searching to find the original bill. I don't know why they aren't sending me monthly statements by mail since it is impossible to open their email statements. I had paid 6 months of payments on the first payment, yet I was charged a late fee because I couldn't find a way to contact them. Ridiculous. It is by far the worse online payment experience I have ever had. I am paying this bill off as quickly as possible and will never do any financing again with them.

Never, EVER get a card serviced by Synchrony, especially for a promotional purchase! You will NOT get a reminder that the promotional end date is approaching. It didn't line up with the date of purchase AT ALL. If you miss it, all the interest you would have gotten steadily on a regular purchase will get added all at once to your outstanding balance. It almost doubled what I owed! I would have taken care of that balance one way or another if I knew that was how they operated. I've never had that experience with any other purchase or credit card. On top of that, they closed the card, randomly and with no reason given, about 5 months before the promotion deadline. We were ALWAYS on time. Autopay set up, no missed payments. So why close the card? It counted negatively on my credit report too. This is the third card my husband and I have ever had with Synchrony, but the first time we've used a promotion. One of the other cards was closed randomly as well, no reason given. I can't stand this company and will NEVER apply for another card serviced by them. This country allows these financial institutions to get away with too much. They are rarely held accountable for the damage they do to everyday people.

I have 5 credit accounts that mysteriously went over to Synchrony. Naming 3, HSN, QVC, and Lowe's. I just got an alert from Experion that one of my credit lines have been reduced. It was Lowe's. My credit line went from $2,600 to $1,018. They run periodic credit checks and adjust your credit limit according to your FICO score. Get this, my Lowe's balance was $1,042. Now my credit report will show a maxed out credit card, plus over limit. Unreal !!! They did this to all 5 accounts. I contacted all the companies and told them, by switching to Synchrony, you are losing a customer. All 5 did not care. My FICO was fine until I refinanced a vehicle, It dropped my score from 700 to 600. I have 12 years perfect credit history, but that don't account for much anymore. I have been advised to file a case with the State Attorney General's office and the FTC . Good Luck to anyone else having this same issue...

I had a synchrony bank, PayPal 2% cash back credit card. I used it often throughout the year totaled around $130,000 in charges. I alwyas paid it off immediately, without ever having a balance or paying any interest, as the goal was to get the 2% They cancelled my card, stating "your charge pattern indicates you would not pay us back" lol. When I called they stated "using the card to get the 2% cash back is not the way one is supposed to use a credit card" lol They owed me $520 in cash back rewards and they told me that they were going to keep it and not pay the money owned to me. My credit score is 830.. never ever had a late payment, never had a balance or even an interest payment. They simply didn't like me using a 2% cash back card, and they decided to keep the money they owed me. Don't use their cash back card. They will cancel it when they owe you money and not pay you . The customer service is horrific. I got four different answers regarding my $520 cash back. 1) it would be deposited into my PayPal actin a few days. 2j it would be deposited in my bank acct in days. 3) they would be sending me a check I would receive in days. 4) they were keeping my money and never sending it to me. Lol The New York State Attorney General, believes this is a violation of the law. That's the next step. I would not want Latisha James, NYS Attorney General knocking on my door if I were them. She is a pit Bull and a bear. I, hoping it’s class action

I have never dealt with a more underhanded, unsympathetic, money grubbing bank in all my years. I have had them screw me over three separate times and I didn’t do any thing wrong any of the 3 times except pay my bills. The first time was my Lowe’s card , used it for years always paid on time and out of the blue they cancel my card because they saw a drop in my credit rating!! Next time was my Sams card they approved me for 14 or 1500 in credit . I used it up to 1200 or so and decided I wanted to pay it off to help my credit rating and out of nowhere they put my credit down to 400 so instead of of raising my credit score it plummeted!! Now just today I receive a cancellation to my care credit card… they really care!! I used it once paid it off and kept it to use at the vet if needed. Unless you have wonderful credit and don’t really need it it doesn’t matter how faithful you are about paying them , you are like shit under their boots!! That’s what I think of them and they need to be out of business!!! There is no room in this world fir a bank with such contempt for struggling people trying to do their best! Shame on you!!!

When I went to the checkout counter at my local Duane Reade I was told I would get $25 of credit if I applied for a Walgreens, credit card. There was no mention of a third-party i.e., Synchrony bank. I never used the card and I only purchased $14 worth of goods which I was not charged for which was less than $25 I was entitled to, but I didn’t care.. My understanding was all I had to do was apply for the card and I got the free purchases. I never used the card, not even once. Then I got bills in the mail from synchrony bank. I called them and said I was canceling my card and that I never charged anything. Now I’m receiving bills in the mail and calls from them. Added to the $14.50 which is not explained. I’m also being charged an additional $16,60 late fee. This is predatory, and Duane Reade is complicit in this scam.

On February 11, 2022, I ordered two 36x36 frameless bathroom mirrors from LampsPlus.com. The mirrors were delivered on February 17th. The mirrors were shipped encased in form-fitting Styrofoam in separate boxes. Opening the first box revealed a shattered mirror. The second one held an intact mirror that had several deep scratches that went unnoticed at that time. I contacted Lamps Plus immediately about the shattered mirror. I was told I would receive a replacement, that I did not need to return the mirror, and that I would receive an email from them with an address to send an image of the shattered mirror. I received that email and replied with all the information they requested. By March 14th I had not received the replacement mirror and had heard no more from Lamps Plus. I sent them a third inquiry that day. Again, no reply. I had purchased the mirrors through Synchrony Bank with my Sam’s Club Mastercard. So, because I was being ignored by Lamps Plus I contacted them to dispute the transaction. Synchrony Bank agreed with my position, initially, and credited my account with the $421.82 purchase price of the mirrors. Now it gets weird. On June 24th I received a message from Synchrony Bank stating that, based upon “new information”, they were reversing the previously issued credit. The “new information” supplied was a proof of delivery statement showing that FedEx had delivered the mirrors on February 17th. That’s not new information, that’s the date I phoned Lamps Plus to report the mirrors had been delivered in damaged condition. Non-delivery was never the issue. On June 29th I sent a letter to Synchrony Bank. I told them; “before I take further action on this matter, please verify, in writing, with a signature of an actual human with some authority at Synchrony Bank, that you agree with Lamps Plus that delivery is all that matters, that the condition upon delivery is irrelevant.” The letter was sent Certified Mail with a Return Receipt, it was signed for by Rolando G. On July 13th I received a Voicemail to Text message from Synchrony Bank stating; “Hello this is a message from Synchrony Bank for Steven N nickel [sic] regarding your Sam’s Club Master Card account. We are calling to inform you that we received your correspondence. We appreciate your patience while we review your request and we’ll update you as soon as possible. We can be reached at 866-xxx-xxxx. If you have any questions. Thank you. Goodbye.” I responded with another letter to Synchrony Bank stating: “It is important to understand that I did not make a request, I stated a requirement. Nothing short of the letter described, clearly stating your policy that receipt of damaged goods is not grounds for a refund, will suffice. Upon receipt of that letter I will pay the full amount of the purchase, $421.82. I will not pay any late fees or interest as the delay is solely your fault. “Further communications on this matter other than that letter must be via an email that is monitored.” That is where we stand. My account balance is now $589.61, the sum of the $421.82 purchase plus about six months of late fees and interest. Clearly, Synchrony Bank wants to be paid, but nobody there is willing to put their name on the letter required to obtain it.

Synchrony Bank sent a 1099C to the IRS claiming I received $11,000 from them. I didn’t know this happened until I received a letter from the IRS threatening to withhold or garnish my bank account if I didn’t pay the taxes on the amount. I called their customer service and was on hold over 2 hours while being passed from one person to another. None of the reps could find any trace of this transaction on my account, but stated they could not issue a statement to the ITS saying the 1099 was an error. I’m not sure what my next steps will be, but I will never use this sorry excuse for a bank again, and I urge everyone to consider doing the same. They caused the problem with the IRS based on their shoddy workmanship and documentation, but can’t spare 10 minutes to correct their mistake.

This company is very deceitful. They will notify that you owe zero in your account in a given month only to change the amount later without notice on their website. Their design of customer account information is designed to deceive customers into being late so that they can charge them $35 late fees. If you are their customer, pay close attention to your account and keep a record of every payment. This bank will not inform you about due date via email as it approaches but will be very quick to let you know that you are late. Other banks will send you multiple automated emails to inform you as a customer about your approaching due date. This bank does not and it does this purposely because it is their policy to maximize profit from late fees!!

The bank called me on Dec 27 to say my payment was late and I needed to pay right then over the phone. They didn't get the check I mailed don Dec 9. They had gotten all other checks prior. The were closed on Dec 26th. She said no grace period, and even if they DID get the check, it won't count as paid on time. This line of credit doesn't have an online account to view, only paper statements. So, I had to pay my bank to put a stop check. On Dec 28, they cashed that check! Then on Dec 29, they refunded the check with a check refund fee. The rep even acknowledge, well the weather may have delayed things and the due date was on Dec 26th, a holiday.

Synchrony Bank has inept, incompetent employees who provide the worst customer service I've ever experienced-personal or business, at any banking institution. They do not follow instructions, they do not follow up, and getting someone to call back in a timely fashion is almost impossible. Here's the abbreviated story of what should have been a simple transaction. I provided instructions to close a CD account, withdraw and send me some of the cash from the CD, then open a new CD with the remaining balance. Multiple representatives of Synchrony mishandled this simple transaction. It took many calls and over 6 hours of my time on the phone, along with 5+ weeks of waiting before I received a check that should have been sent in a week. I heard apology after apology from each new customer service rep but the incompetent employees at this institution just can't seem to get anything right. I also emailed multiple senior executives of the bank alerting them to the experience and not to my surprise, I didn't receive a single response. Let me say this. There are many good banks with excellent CD interest rates available right now for those of you who want to find a safe place to park some cash. I strongly suggest that you avoid Synchrony Bank and find a banking operation that values their customers, doesn’t repeat the same mistakes over and over, and responds in a timely fashion to requests for return calls. Synchrony does none of this and as such, they do not deserve my business or yours. Think carefully before you make the same mistake I did. I will never work with this bank again and I had been a customer for over 10 years!

Had a a Furniture account with Synchrony for over a year. Balance of $1600. Made $100-$200 Payments monthly, sometimes higher. Earlier this month I switched my personal bank and therefore my December payment did not auto pay. Synchrony bank immediately hit me on a $30 late charge, a $395 interest fee and closed my account for being outstanding. I called and confirmed that I owed Decembers payment but that I was not behind except a week or so. They explained that my account was closed in bad standing and sent to the credit agency because the auto payment didn't go through, not because I was behind. I asked why someone wouldn't call the customer or email or send a letter, his reason was that is not the way they operate. This seems like a total SCAM and FRAUD. A way for them to screw the customer right when the account is about to be paid off. That is exactly what has happened here. I have all the statements showing payment up to date.

I wish zero stars was an option. I stared with a credit limit of $7500 and purchased a mattress from mattress firm. I've ALWAYS paid on time as well as with all my other bills. I guess Synchrony receives/pulls credit reports every so often, they saw a over 30% usage on another card that I had and lowered my credit limit to 100 more than my outstanding bill which my credit score took a HUGE hit because it looked like this card was maxed out. Today I received an email that they closed my account, still with a balance. They can have their zero percent interest offer and I will never do business with this company or any company that does financing with Synchrony Bank. They are AWFUL!!!

I recently came into some money and I wanted to put it on my credit cards. I will admit that I was carrying high balances on my cards and because of that Synchrony lowered my limit from $3000 to $1910 I didn’t have a high balance with them nor had I missed a single payment (PayPal credit) there is only so much to buy with PayPal. When they changed my limit, I went from carrying a moderate balance to being MAXED OUT. So after making a $1000 payment I find out my out they lowered my limit again. By $1100. I called and was told to upload proof that my balances have been lowered on to the website. I did all of that and they sent a letter saying they will stick to the decision they made. I owe a total of 800 to Synchrony with PayPal and Amazon Store card and I am going pay them off and NEVER use them again.

Well they were great and convenient until I started the autopay. Payment was sent on the due day but would be charged from $29 to $41 in late fees on the day payment was due. Never mind that some months, I made 2 payments. Then all of sudden no notice, account closed within 7 days when an autopayment did not show on their end. In order to open the account, the stated to reapply...why they hell would I want to have new credit apply on my credit report and then lose more points for them closing the account. Est balance 1600. If you really need this, don't do autopay and don't make payment the day it's due. You'll be charged late fees.

I should have seen the red flags from having an Ashley Stewart account with them for years. My credit limit was $100 which was fine that's all I needed to stay within my budget. After about 2 years, out of the blue, my limit was raised without my asking, to $500. Okkaaayyy.. what's going on?? My credit with A/S was great, I had 2 missed payments about 1 year earlier, out of work but still struggled and made those payment. Here it is 4 years later, excellent payment history, those bums won't even waive those 2 payment, so I could clean up my scores overall. So, here I am years later, in November,2022, about the 1st week, I applied for the Sam's Credit Card. It has been totally down hill and I haven't even got the card yet!!!It took 3 weeks for them to mail the card only for it to be sent to the wrong address, Customer Svc. Rep. bad typing had my name, address incorrect whereas, it was undeliverable. I called the first time only to get someone that spoke terrible English, sounded like they were reading from a prompt. This person could hardly understand what I was saying, OK, I'm like I will call back tomorrow and get a better person....NOT!!! This one was even worse and had the nerve and audacity to try to talk over me as a customer. OK, no answers on where the card is and when do I get another one sent. 2nd go round, a well versed person in English explained she would have my card sent FedEx, would receive in about 3 day, and would have to sign for it. I advised her at that time that I could not be there, well chickey said just let them attempt delivery, and then you can go to a Hold Location, and just pick it up. All lies detected. Could not do no such thing since it required a signature. It will be sent back to them after this attempt. which is today. I just like at a tennis match, looking from east to west. The 3rd person today tells me I have to wait another 2 weeks, yes, it wont arrive until AFTER Christmas. The whole purpose was to catch some great deals for gifts. buy groceries, gas, etc. all at one place, and pay the sucker down on my next pay period. Yeah. they have a real plan for us, after reading these other reviews. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, WITH ANY CREDIT CARD BANK I HAVE EVER USED!!! So i get to do none of that, but when I do get that sucker trust me, its going to go where it needs to go. Before that, I got approved, went online to shop at Sam's going to pay using my debit card, fine no problem. Ready to check out, my cart loaded, my card number (new Card) pops up asking if I want to swipe the new account, mind you I haven't got the card Yet). I'm Ok with that, keep my other fund, and pay for this next month, I was surprised that it was already loaded into my Sam's account, I paid for items in the warehouse AND went and got gas..no card, scanned the QR code, good to go. Fast forward, 2 weeks later still no card, low on gas. Get in line to get totally embarrassed. Didn't have my bank card, so I used the Sam's card to fill up, mind you I'm almost out. Sit until my turn, scan the QR code with my phone, now its asking for the security code from the card!!! I don't have one yet. So my question was why was I allowed to purchase initially without the code?? This has been a complete horror story and for me it has not ended. I'm not sure when or if I will ever get my card. And when I do, it will be right there with Ashley Stewart drawing dust, I would close them both but I'm trying for a mortgage, closing accounts this close won't look good. So I'll just spend my normal $20, pay them 2 weeks in advance as another customer suggested, to avoid any flumped up charges, to keep them active until I get clear of my ultimate goal. This is the worst bank ever, wish i had read the reviews first. Customer service is the worst, they will tell you anything, never accommodating to the customer.

Synchroy bank ia a thief It looked into every possible way to charge me. First through Patpay. It kept sending me unjustified statements, and I had to keep calling them and explain. In response they said okay we will run an investigation. But they di not!. So finally, I was fed up I cloed my paypal account and filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Department of the Attorny General of California. It worked they stoped sending me statments. Unsuccessful through paypal, now they turned to Amazon. They created an Amazon store card for me and began sending me statements. The amount they are charging is quite insignificant, it is about $8. But imagine if they do this illegal activity for 50 milion people they will make millions of dollars. Isn't it about time that somebody in this country take Synchrony bank to court?

Is Synchrony Bank a partner with Pep Boys in scamming customers? In May 2022, I experienced the 3rd or 4th time issues with my OEM battery on my 2017 auto not charging/starting. I therefore, after taking my daughter to work, stopped by Pep Boys to have the charging system, etc checked. At that time they stated that the system was fine but the battery was only showing a 40% life. Since the battery was so old I went ahead and purchased a new one. A month later, I was experiencing the same issue, unable to start the auto. I once again dropped my daughter off at work, then stopped at PepBoys to once again have the system checked. All a-ok I’m told, however, there is a corroded part that prevents the system from charging/starting properly. Ok order the part and let me know when it is in for installation. Told to come in the next day, I show up and part is not in. Come back tomorrow I’m told. That happened 3 times and after the 3rd time I told Pep Boys to cancel the order, they argued but I said cancel. That was the last time I spoke to anyone at Pep Boys, about mid-July. That day in the mail I received a bill from Synchrony Bank, showing a $214 charge and a 2nd $214 charge, neither had any description. I called the bank and they opened a fraud check on the account. I also, after an argument with the bank had the account closed, they at first stated that they could not close the account, thus the argument. A couple of weeks later the bank sent an online letter stating that the charges were applied in error prior to the purchase completion. So I thought ok that’s it. Then in September 2022, I received another statement showing both charges as well as late fee charges. Once again I contacted the bank, once again the bank stated they would look into the issue. No letters from the bank, only silence. However, I am now in late November been subject to 2, 3, 5 phone calls per day for weeks from the bank demanding payment. So I wonder if Pep Boys and Synchrony Bank are partners in ripping off customers. That is especially since, in July, I checked the battery and noted that the connections on the supposed corroded part were very loose. I tighten down and have had ZERO charging/starting issues. Leads me to wonder if there was any issue even as far back as May other than loose connections.

Do not do business with this bank. I always make my payment way before the due date and I double my payment. They will take the payment out of my bank account right away but will not apply the payment until weeks later. You will be charged a $40.00 late fee. They are the worst bank ever. Save yourself the trouble and don't get sucked into their dark web. I make a payment this month and they took the amount out twice. They are operating out of India and have no customer service. I stayed on hold for one hour. I opened an account for $1,000.00 and after I had the account almost paid off they lowered my available credit to $500.00 without notice. They are horrible. A nightmare. The Attorney General needs to know about their actions. I am going to get the word out to everyone I can.

First, there is something wrong with a supposedly established company that doesn't easily give you a contact number. When you do find the number, good luck getting past the automated system which continually tells you it can help when it obviously can't but gives you the runaround. Even the written response I received, after messaging the online support did not contain a number, nor did it address the problem. Then there is the matter of actually paying the monthly amount before the due date, but you are still charged a late fee. Also, paying above the amount owed only to have your balance increase even when it is supposed to be a zero percent loan. You have the information and proof that you paid it, but it doesn't matter. So then, to protect your credit rating you decide to completely pay it off. On a zero balance for some reason, you get another charge. You pay off that charge only two days later to have an even higher charge on a zero balance. No response. No correction. It's a scam. From this point on I will never purchase from another company that uses Synchrony Bank as their lender. That includes you, Amazon. You can keep your card as I will never use it again. Goodbye Rooms to Go and LL Flooring too. We are done.

Beware of their Promo Balances - you will pay "retroactive" interest to the tune of thousands of dollars if you don't pay that promo balance TOTALLY OFF. For some reason, I was stupid and thought that the interest would "start" not be "retroactive". Please read all of your terms and conditions. Their customer services is all exceptionally rude and obstinate. They will not help you or even listen to you at all. At the end of the day, I am going to end up paying four times the value of their "Value City" furniture, when I had the full payment in cash in my pocket when I went shopping but allowed (again stupid me) the salesman to talk me into one of these PROMO Balance credit cards. The Promo Balance kicked in after I paid over 1/3 of the first balance, which doubled my balance and threw me over my credit limit. They then proceeded to charge me over the limit fees AND closed my account even when I was paying my bill on time, every time, and paying over my minimum due. As an added bonus, after no late payments, and paying over the minimum, they closed my account (due to my credit score they said). So this dinged my credit score even more. All I can say to you is to please slow down and read your terms and conditions and make sure you "Understand" what they mean. I didn't. And never do business with this company because they will "FINISH" you even when you continue to pay on time and over the minimum. Lastly, if you have the money in your pocket like I did at the time, just go ahead and pay cash for the furniture...... I hope this helps someone!

Would rate 0 if I could. Second bad experience. Both times I had issues with returned payments that appeared to go through and then got emails or letters weeks later with return payment fees. Both times they closed my account, hurting my credit score. This last time was for PayPal credit. I called and asked to pay in full over the phone and demanded they close my account. I was told there was no way to pay over the phone. I was asked to "give them a chance", that "these things happen and are common" (bank connection Issues), that there "would be no credit score issues or fees." They asked me not to take such "drastic actions such as requesting to close an account." I explained that I was concerned about my credit score and didn't want any more problems with supposed late or missed payments. They ASSURED me that everything was fine. I told them the balance (that they wouldn't take over the phone) online showed zero so there was NO WAY TO PAY ONLINE they said, "yes, Mam. It will take a few days to re-appear on your account. Wait for it to re-appear, disconnect and re-connect your bank and try again. No problem at all." Three days after this conversation they closed my account, dinging my credit score. I'm reporting them to the BBB and going to my credit union to consult with someone as to what kind of further action I can take. This business needs to be stopped.

NEVER USE AUTOPAY! Synchrony processess auto payments on the due date after the 5 pm cutoff for payments. No matter what date you select for payments, the bank will always charge you a late fee first and then process your payment. Therefore, every month your payment will be late and you will be charged up to $41 per month for a late payment. It’s a horrible way to conduct business. I would say Synchrony is walking the razor’s edge when it comes to being fraudulent. And, definitely do not give them your bank account information under any circumstance. If you want to automatically pay them, set it up through your bank account and make sure the payment is two weeks early.

Issues with rejected payments, 3 payments from 3 different sources, 2 of which were linked to the website with bank routing and account numbers, one was chase Bank, the other was Huntington bank, and the 3rd payment that was rejected was a transfer check from my Huntington credit card account. All to pay for value city furniture. The credit card check was hand delivered to a value city employee in June of 2021, on Sept 21st, that payment was reversed, nobody knows what happened to the check, it was never returned. Late fees and interest was applied due to a glitch in synchronys system. They won't admit they screwed up, and they closed our value city account, both my wife and I have excellent credit. I will never again do business with synchrony bank, worst banking experience of my lifetime. Horrible horrible bank.

This is the absolute worst customer service that I have ever ever experienced. I am calling to pay off my CC balance and settle. Do you know I was transferred to 4 -7 departments to PAY MY BILL! Each transfer I had to provide: Full Name Social Address DOB 7 TIMES!!!! I was on the call for a total of 57 minutes. The calls kept getting dropped, the agent didn't understand the ask, all I wanted to do was pay by bill aka settle the freaking account. Why is the process so cumbersome. This is the worst, this will make someone NOT want to pay their bill. Every person stated YOU WERE SENT TO THE WRONG DEPARTMENT AND THEN I'M ON HOLD FOR 5 MINUTES, THE CALL DROPS I HAVE TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I STILL DID NOT SETTLE BECAUSE I KEPT GETTING THE WRONG DEPARTMENT THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM AND I AM REPORTING YOU ALL TO THE BBB.

The absolute worst customer service. After each time I sent a payment request, the system was not responding to then find out it took my payment 3 times. I called and they told me if I removed the bank account it was pulling from that it would not go through, but it did. Then I called to get my overpayment back and they said they can only mail it and it will take 7-14 days. I asked if they could FedEx it, since they gave me bad information and they fought me to defend that they had no way to FedEx the check????? I gues FedEx does not pick up from their offices. This is a number of bad experiences with them. I just finished disconnected their cards from any auto pay and cut up the cards... They do not know what it means to take care of a customer

I opened a Care Credit Card account through Synchrony Bank in 2021. I did this for Emergency Vet services for my animals should I have an issue. I did not need to use the card for 367 days and on the 367th day I found out my account was closed for inactivity. This is absolutely unacceptable and poor business practice. The point of a credit card is to be there for EMERGENCIES. I need to take my dog to the vet TODAY for an EMERGENCY and now I do not have my EMERGENCY credit card available to help pay for the visit. I am unfortunately not prequalified again. I demand that Synchrony reactivate my card immediately.
