This company is nothing but a scam! Bought a sleep number bed and financed through Syncrony Bank. I have never had a credit company that randomly reviews your credit score several times a year without any notification. Last week after 2 years they closed my account without any notification. I am going to work my ass off to pay them off as soon as possible. I will NEVER do business with them again. I would give them -5 stars if I could. This company should be shut down!

The absolute worst! If you are in any way trying to build your credit or have good credit or any credit at all this company will ruin it. They constantly are lowering your limits making it impossible to use the recommended 30% credit card utilization recommendation. If it gets paid off annually why punish people for it. JUST STAY AWAY goal for 2024 pay off what I owe and NEVER do any business with anyone who uses this company just a terrible business who uses unscrupulous tactics to hurt there customers.

If I could leave zero stars I would. If you care ANYTHING about improving your credit score, stay AWAY from Synchrony Bank. They are infamous for closing accounts w/o notice. They've done this to me twice on accounts with long history that I have paid on time. They're justification was that they found something on my credit report that led them to (not simply reduce my limit) but go straight to closure. However, my credit status hasn't changed. Please do not support this bank and their borderline criminal behavior. Its companies like this that keep people from progressing.

I would give a zero if I could. The customer service team and supervisor are horrible. I had a late payment fee because the payment was made on my due date and they do not offer any kinds of grace periods. And since they returned the one late payment fee, they can’t do another in a 12 month period because my payments were made on the due date. Never dealing with Synchrony bank again.

These people are crooks!! The agreement states they will charge 26.99% interest, they charged 39.98%. Nowhere in the agreement does it say that they were going to take the amount they should charge and multiply it by 365(days of the year) then divide that number and then multiply that number my the number of months for the promotional period to overcharge by nearly $1400. I do believe this is illegal and this company should be fined and shut down. I will be seeking legal action against them. This is unacceptable!!!

Do not use their banking, nor get a loan through them. The customer service is horrible, also not the best people to talk to and are not helpful at all. Plus I've been trying to pay off a loan that I did with them for dental work and have not once been able to pay on time due to the fact their auto-pay doesn't work and have been charged 200 dollars so far for something that wasn't my fault to begin. Run! Run far away from using this bank. We purchased furniture almost 6 months go with Mor and they put us in the wrong payment plan. It has been a literal nightmare. Even after we showed them that we were supposed to be in a longer agreement, it has been 3 months and this still hasn't been resolved and now I have a notice on my credit that I'm 30 days past even though we have made the monthly payment we were first originally told.

The worst bank I've ever had credit with. Closes your account for no reason when your bill is paid on time. Decreases your credit limits when you've been paying on time. They make no sense, once my accounts are paid in full I will be closing them all even if it hurts my credit and will never apply for credit or bank with them ever again in my life. Just trying to open a new CD account so far has taken a half day and still not done. Now I have to wait for them to approve me to open an account. Seriously, they are the ones who need approval, and they are failing miserably. Now I'm supposed to receive it by snail mail for their approval! Another week or so while rates go down. Purchased a Synchrony Home credit card on 11/2022. This was the first time for me to know how this works. I thought in 12 month the amount paid to buy furniture would be paid and autopayment also gets cancelled automatically. In Jan 2024, got to know Synchrony has charged 613$ interest on my account as the full amount in 12 month was not paid. I called the customer care to explain the situation and was the first timer , they did not wave off the amount. Very poor experience with Synchrony. Immediately paid the amount and closed the credit card.

Customer service is terrible once I pay off my credit card I will be closing my account and never again dealing with Synchrony bank. I’ve only called in twice and both times the representative yelled at me and I literally had to go off. English is not their native tongue so basicallly there’s a communication barrier and since they don’t understand what I’m saying they just yell Judging from these reviews I see I’m not the only one that had a terrible experience. I was never late on my payments and always paid more than they amount due every month, and they took my unused credit away after I cancelled a Credit Security Program charge that I found on my bill every month. They were literally charging me $65.00 a month for whatever that Security Program was. I had no idea. I kept wondering why only a few dollars of my payment was being applied to my credit. I am so angry with this company. I have been a loyal customer for years and thats the crap they did. Run, don't walk from this company. They do not have the customers best interest at heart.

This "bank" is absolutely horrible, they will reduce your credit limit,Even when you have not missed a payment. Worst customer service ever. I made the payment on a new account too early and scheduled the recurring payment from my bank on a monthly basis. Their system ignored that first payment and charged me a later for all payments there after! I only realized this when I received a past due notice in mail for a payment that was scheduled. Customer service was of no help stating there is nothing they could do about the situation, it is just the way their system works.

My payments have been made timely for over 1.5 yrs, I am ahead two months on payments, they closed my account and for three months have been reporting negative remarks (SINCE /8/2023)or showing late payments even though I am two months ahead EVEN ON THEIR RECORDS per their customer service , I had auto pay and they still hit my acct many months showing that I made 2-3 payments a month 14 payments in 9 months) on my bank statements, this place is far from correct in any business practice and is very shady!!!. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

I paid all of my payments on my Synchrony Care credit credit card early every month. I paid my July payment that was due on 7/19 on 7/5 2023. I paid my August payment early on 7/27. I then paid my September payment early on August 28th. Synchrony Bank charged me a late payment fee and a non payment fee which they did waive one fee but would not waive the other even though they agreed that I did not miss or make a late payment. I'm very unhappy with Synchrony Bank customer service!

I asked for my statements to be sent to me since they weren't accessible online. After the wrong statements were sent, I had to call in SIX times to ask for access. Four times, the customer representative hung up on me. One supervisor promised that I would have the statements in 24-48 hours. After three days, they told me I would get them by 5pm. At 7pm, they told me I would not get them and hung up on me. I still haven't gotten what I need. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't bank with this company if you want a bank that you can trust and that respects you.

This has been the worst Credit Agency I've ever dealt with. Consistently lowering and/or closing accounts that are in good standing, due to elevated credit use on other accounts. News Flash Synchrony! We sometimes have to rely on our credit accounts when going thru temporary financial issues! When needed the most, they closed accounts and lowered limits to a fraction of nothing! Will never recommend nor patronage this company again.. I gave them a 1 only because "0" is not available. I had a loan for a flute to pay in equal payments to pay for 36 payments. If the loan was paid off within a particular date there would be no interest. Well I paid on time each month and paid off the loan with date agreed upon. They have now added around $250 on interest for “fraud” protection which was for around $350 which I never signed up for. I got them to drop the $350 but they are still charging me $250 plus interest on this interest. I will never use Synchony Bank again.

They will cancel cards even if you made payments on time, AND EVEN AHEAD OF TIME! So my credit score dropped for a time and so one of their products, the car care card, they closed and an Amazon card that they do they severely lowered the limit rendering the card useless in my case. Remember while my credit score had went down, I had never missed paying them on time and the full amount due. So they didn't do good business with me, as I kept my end of the deal but they didn't keep their end. I strongly suggest that you find a better more understanding company. Shalom.

Very disappointed with this bank. Never ever I had this kind of ridiculous experience in any other bank with ridiculous promotion. When I applied for the card they said it’s 0% interest for 12 months. Nobody literally nobody inform me they will charged whole bunch of year interest in the next year. When I called them they said “they can’t do anything now since it’s been months”. For god sake please do not involved with this bank. I rate them 0 star. Worst worst worst bank and experience.

I will never do business with this company again. I have four accounts with them. I forgot about a payment on one account but the other three were in good standing. They lowered the credit limit on all four accounts although three of them were in good standing. This action increased my credit utilization because they lowered my credit limit on all accounts and my credit score suffered.

I have always made my payment early and paid more than my minimum payment. I was never told that I couldn’t make a payment in advance. So apparently I paid it too early and they put it down that my payment was late and put a late charge on my account. They refused to remove the late fee and now I have a late payment on my credit. I will never use this company again! I only used them because I bought furniture from Ashley Furniture and this is the finance company they used.

In June I was trying to get my sister some dentures through Aspen Dental.. I was approved for the cost with a Care Credit card.. The dental office didn’t do all the work I was charged for and said they would contact Care Credit to take $1400.00 off the cost.. When it didn’t happen I opened a dispute for the $. 1400.00 to be taken off the original cost of $4135.50 .. Well Synchrony being the low class uneducated financial institution they are told Aspen I was disputing $2700.00 of the cost.. Well go figure I have to pay the entire $4135.50.. PLEASE SHUT THIS FRAUDULENT BUSINESS DOWN!!

I will never do business with this bank again!! I have been unsuccessful at logging into my online account which caused me to be late on my credit cards. Then they started closing my accounts after I had repeatedly reported the website error notification. Most of my cards with them are paperless statements and I had no way of knowing where to send a payment or any other way to log in. When I tried to log in on each credit card site it said I entered the wrong information. Now my credit that I was rebuilding is bad again. Thanks for nothing Synchrony Bank

Dear Fellow Citizens, I previously held one account with this charlatan and they gave us a 7500 credit line in Ashleys manager approval on the sales floor and we spent 4500. As we got to 3600 to pay off the interest they hit me with a 3000 interest charge. Dust in the wind I have paypal and pay on time and I logged in now and it says account closed. No explaination other than they are an illegal banking entity that engages in bad faith predatory lending and bait-and-switch tactics in order to write off customer junk debt. Waiting for this case to hit some fancy lawyers desk.

I made a large payment because this bank is messing with my card utilization. Almost 2 weeks later they still have my funds on hold because it was a large payment. I was told they would report it on the 29th, and you guessed it. They still haven't processed it. I was told now that an additional 2 days later that they would finally process it and report it to the credit department. Never again will I use them. They will report usage almost the same day, but will take their sweet time to update your usage.

Had a loan for 2 months, made 2 payments already and today I was going to make the 3rd payment but showed as late and with a $30 late fee. I was not late; I have been paying one month ahead. However, according to the lady on the phone, if I make a payment before the statement is issued the payment does not count towards that month but counts towards the month before, so they are counting 2 payments in the first month and no payment for the second month and charging a $30 fee. Never have I been charged a fee for paying early or before my statement was issued. Ridiculous!

The customer service department is absolutely terrible! Long long waits on the phone. Representatives are not knowledgeable, have gotten different answers to the same question. Do not do business with this bank! They have closed 4 of my accounts with them for no good reason. This lowers you credit score dramatically and when you need credit this is not a good thing. I paid all my bills on time and this did this to me. What a joke of a bank and hope they go out of business. I hope karma bits them in the butt for doing this to loyal customers.

Don't bother opening an a card with them. We had 3, paid all in time and even early. They closed 2 of them and reduced the availability by half on the other one. This was all at different times. It always said it was because my score dropped. plus the drop in scores were very small and very temporary. Them closing it made it go down . I paid them on time and they punish you by dropping your score. And that drop was much bigger and harder to recover from

I had a Heart Attack and took a cut in pay which landed me behind in several bills. Synchrony bank hired Tenaglia and Hunt to take me to court. They asked why I fell behind I told them I had a heart attack and that did not help the situation at all. They still didn't want to work with me. Stay away from this bank. Set up auto pay with them. Wasnt notified that it didnt go. got a late notice and statement after the 30 day late.. I was out of the country. Called them right away as I had never been late on my credit and they confirmed it wasnt reported. Synchrony closed my Lowes account because an ACH payment failed. I do not know reason for the failure. I paid in full from another bank account. However, Synchrony is falsely reporting the account as "settled" rather than "closed" which says I did not pay the pay the full amount. They are the worst bank I've ever dealt with and I will never get another account with them. I think poorly of Lowes for choosing to do business with this dishonest company.

Due to past mistakes and the pandemic, being a single mom, losing my job, and getting behind is my fault, but to let someone open a secured credit card from amazon and then they close it without warning because of that past is seriously messed up. Synchrony Bank ran my credit without notifying me and reduced half of the approved credit claiming that they were doing it on a regular basis and that it was in the regularity part. I spent all night looking for it and never found where it was written. In addition to that, they added more interest than allowed. Just opened HYS account and attempted to transfer $10K into the account from external bank. Received an email stating the account is suspended and need to call customer service. Put on hold for 30+ minutes only to be told there's technical glitch with transfer system on its system and no ETA. I can't trust this bank with my money if they can't even get their things together. Closed my newly opened account and move to another bank with better customer service and wants my money.

Month after month, Synchrony's computer will not recognize the correct log-in data, either at the hyperlinked log-page or any other site they say is "correct." Try to pay by telephone, and you may wait for hours and never get picked up. heir attitude is that you are privileged to be their customer. i pay the entire billed amount monthly and have now paid the entire balance. i will never use their card again. Arrogance and incompetence is not an attractive mix.

Synchrony Bank is a vulture capitol bank. They buy out credit card accounts like Lowes, HSN, QVC, Sams Club, and many others and begin closing accounts that have been in good standing for years. And they give no warning of the take over so account holders can flee before the takeover and adverse action. Stay away from this company at all cost. If you have an account with them, it's only a matter of time before they hatchet your account.

Just like everyone on here, they'll give you an offer for a card and then take away or close your accounts without warning or notice. I opened a new Lowes card last year after I moved and was given a credit limit of $5k. By the time I received my card, my credit line was decreased to $4k. I used my card 3 days ago to charge $65. Today I received an electronic letter that my credit line has been reduced to $100. I paid off my $65 balance and told them what they could do with their card.

I was forced to use Synchrony Bank after purchasing a washer/dryer from Warner Stellian and wanted to finance. Although it was MY error that I set up my auto payment for 24 months vs 18 months, I received no email notification or anything letting me know my promotional balance period was ending and had to pay over $1000 in interest. This bank does not care about you and only wants more of your money. BE CAREFUL if you have a payment plan through them.

We got new gutters and they offered synchrony to finance. We set it up over the phone. We put it on auto pay and months later find out we are being charged some outrageous security charge each month dor protection that we NEVER asked for and we were never told about. When we called to ask what it was, the rep even said yeah you probably weren't told about it. We have been trying to call and dispute it but getting someone on the phone who can fix it is providing difficult. Absolute scam. Ive also found that Synchrony has had a few class action lawsuits. I can see why.
