Run! Run! Run! Going to close my account and never look back! I had a $1200 debt with them which I always paid on time, then suddenly, out of the blue, I was charged $550 plus in interest for 1 month. For what I asked them??. I called, I emailed, I questioned and I inquired…and got nothing… not even the courtesy of a response! Please... do yourself a big favor and stay away with them! Go somewhere else. I'd give them a zero if I could. Pay them off and get yourself outta there quick before you get screwed over! .. Do not trust this bank!!!!

Closed my account without any notice. Have never missed a payment and had $2000 limit. This is the third time having them lower my credit on two other cards. Same type of excuse they use. Never have had any problems like this with any other cards that I have. Tired of dealing with company that obviously doesn't care or want customers. Poorest excuse for customer service every time I tried to contact them. Stay away form Synchrony.

I have 3 credit cards with Sychrony from three different retail establishments . I signed up for the Ashley furniture 60 mo no interest payment for a Labor day sale. When I went into my online account they had scheduled full payment for over $3000! I went in and arranged a much lesser payment for the due date about 2 weeks ago and checked my bank account tonight and there is a full payment of the $3000+ pending! I have alerted my bank and will be calling Synchrony in the morning to retract that full payment amount! This is horrid.

They closed my JCPenny account without any prior notice. They claimed the credit bureaus had my balances on other credit cards as too high. Keep in mind, I only had a $100 credit line with JCP, and my account was in good standing as are my payment histories on those other accounts. Tried calling customer service to find out why and was told they sent a letter that never came. I have a 98% on-time payment history on my credit report. Synchrony Bank? FUHGEDDABOUTIT!

Customer service is trash. Had same issue since March 2022 and still dealt with it in September. Finally just closed my account but still wasn't even resolved. All the supervisors there have no idea what they are doing and when you ask to speak to their supervisor, they say there is no one above them. I know they aren't the bosses but try and act like it. Do not bank with them.

TRANSFERRED 4 TIMES TO FOREIGN PEOPLE TRYING TO SPEAK ENGLISH. COULD NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF THEM AND THEY SAID SENDING ME A LETTER. Synchrony financed my couch. I paid it in full, never missing a single payment. When the loan was completely paid off in the contract terms without a single missed payment or underpayment, I asked for the account to be closed. They refused and continued to access me a monthly "account fee" which I refused to pay. I asked MANY TIMES over TWO YEARS for the account to be closed. I paid my obligation IN FULL. They have completely ruined my perfect credit. I would NEVER consider financing with Synchrony ever again. They are a complete scam.

Horrible bank that has the worst customer service. I am a paypal customer and didn't realize they deal with this bank for credit. If they can't help you, they disconnect you pass you to account manager who give you the wrong info to resolve an issue or assure you they will take care of it and never gets done. Spends hours and months trying to resolve a very simple refund transaction and experienced the most horrible and unprofessional customer service.

This bank has been nothing but a nightmare. Twice I tried to pay with electronic transfer. I checked and they said I had a zero balance. Then I get a notice that I am late with my payment. I finally asked for my balance and sent them a check, I called them today for my balance and they said I owe another $30 for interest fees. Do not trust this bank! They use to be Allegro and Synchrony took over. I made June and July payment and I owe more now than when I started. Beware of this bank and read the reviews they have more complaints than good reviews.

Worst bank in the world. I let them know last month I was moving and gave them my new address. First they froze my account because I was getting an ADT alarm system installed and just today they froze it AGAIN because I was getting a new riding mower. BOTH to the new address they have on file. NOW THE KICKER....... they make you go through a FIVE step process to unfreeze your account..... to include a 5 second video of your face, photos of the front and back of your drivers licenses and they finally send you a verification code.

So if you are just charging & paying your good to go, but as soon as other services are needed their customer service is HORRIBLE! Do not believe what any rep tells you, including supposed managers! From July up to today, 9/6/22, I have spoken to various reps & managers & they all have told me different info.! The managers are the worst! Check them & re-check them again because if they screw up on their end they won't make it right-- you'll only get the run around & basically just got to deal with their screw up! They take no responsibility!!

I had a payment due for 30 some dollars I paid 3000 some thing and unfortunately paid it twice. I canceled one of the payments my bank canceled both. Synchrony retaliated by closing every synchrony account I have one by one stating it was because of a default payment. There was no default payment it was overpaid by $3000 and I was trying to stop it from putting my checking account in the negative

I just used the online chat function and the phone chat function and both of these people can not see any info on the accounts except how much you owe... I informed them that the bills are going to an address I had 5 years ago and not to the address I have on my bill from rooms to go. It was like pulling teeth to get them to correct thus error. Be prepared to call 5 different people to get a full answer to a simple question.

Synchrony bank credit cards have done more to damage my credit rating than any other entity even though I pay more than the minimum every month and on time they continue to lower my credit limit which of course lowers my credit score thru no fault of my own. I would like to know of any class action lawsuits as I believe it's very unfair of this bank to damage peoples credit scores when they are dealing with them in good faith.

I sent them a passport copy as the verification document like they asked. The scanned PDF document was in the highest resolution in the setting while being made. Later I asked why my application was declined, they told me they couldn't verify my ID. They were literally blind and still claimed it was blurry. This document has passed every ID verification internationally and this is the first time it failed. This is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard in any application in my life. The truth is, they just wanted to steal my personal information.

They will ruin your credit if you are trying to rebuild. They do random credit pulls and if your score and utilization don’t match what they require they will close your account or lower your initial amount of credit to what ever you owe. Therefore it looks like you made a huge purchase and maxed out your card to the credit bureaus making you utilization increase which then hurts your score. A lot of people complains of this so save yourselves the headache I wish I read the reviews before applying and receiving this card.

I got a discount card for tires through synchrony Bank never use the car before I ran into an emergency used the card two days later I get a letter they does decreased my amount I never was late with them or anything it makes you not even want to do business with them I’m gonna pay it off and close the account I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have that card for seven months and never used it and soon as I use it you decrease it that’s dirty.

I recieved the card for gas purchases. After 30 days they raised my limit, after 69 days the cancelled my card and when I called to ask why, she stated my credit score went down. My credit score went down 5 points for using the card. Hahaha. She then stated I can reapply after my score goes back up. No way!! I will never use them again. My payments were always on time! I highly advise not to use them!!

I e been overcharged with my synchrony credit through PayPal , I made several payments over the phone with my credit card to them and they won’t apply it to the balance “ stating we don’t accept credit cards” well your employees accepted my credit card over the phone. They have charged me interest on 6- months promotional purchases that I paid off by the due date . Their wrecking my credit now because I’m refusing to pay them more when I don’t owe . They’vee got an app That's worthless because for whatever reason, you can never log into it without first calling their sorry asses to Re-Set your password. Synchrony is by far my worst experience among all banking institutions I've used. At all levels: rates, service, usability of their app, ultra long delay between payments and the time they actually get withdrawn. transparency of the fine print rules. Almost everything they do, is less good, or less fast than other banks. I wish Amazon (and Google) would partner with someone else.

Even some account which i never start with synchrony end up they buy and same issues as before . Unusual late payment charge even u make payment on time . Variable interest rate means slaming on credit line and credit score on one account and changing higher intrest rate on most of the account . I was trying to verify my identity for a CC (Harbor Freight) and the process was terrible. They needed a video of me which I wasn't prepared for. Then they wanted to take a picture of my license with my IPAD camera front and back and the process did not work. I tried to pre-qualify. It sent a link to my mobile phone and it came up verified but the website didn't detect that. This whole process was ridiculous. I have existing credit with synchrony bank and never had to go through all this.

I got pre approved for care credit in january. Never received the physical card. Now with that on mind I tried to access my account that month said everything was incorrect meanwhile I still have no card and called everyday over what I owe and when I explained my situation they said I will get a call next week. 2 days later I am being called again. No sympathy and unprofessional at best. Will not be recommending and will be urging anyone I know to avoid.

They are villains and not worthy of any customers, they will only jack up interest rates on you and then you will have to fight them. I was charged thousands and thousands of dollars for items, I never purchased I was paying my bill every month but I wasn’t being credited my bill kept going up and up every month, I disputed all the charges on my Amazon and no card and they stated that the charge’s are mines. I have been a synchrony bank customer for years. Many of my have transitioned to Synchrony Bank. I just went to use my Synchrony home card to have it declined. They closed my account due to inactivity. I was not notified that it would be closed or that it had been closed. I spoke with a manager and her reply was they are not obligated to notify you of account closures prior or after. Synchrony obviously knows nothing about courtesy or good customer service. Manager told me I could open a new account. I told her I will never have an account with them again

Sam’s Club Master Card through Synchrony Bank was the Worst credit card ever used! Had card less than one month and card was canceled twice for suspicious purchases. Card was shut off each time. Was told a new card would be mailed within 7-10 days??? Furthermore, Synchrony Bank’s Authentication tool did not work! Just paid off balance and CANCELED CARD. We weren’t able to use card half the period of time we had it. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!

ZERO stars! It is fine until you need to access your money! They have a limit on bank transfers that is not stated anywhere on their website. Manager told me they would air freight a check because I needed more of our funds for a closing on our new home. They did not air freight the check for 2 days! I was on the phone with 3 different managers, for 3 hours, the last one "off shore" and NO ONE was able to help me or called me back. Filing complaint with Better Business Bureau also.

I've had the card for a year. After a year of on-time payments, and paying more than the minimum, they cut my credit limit down to my current balance. So now it shows I am utilizing 100% of my credit limit and caused my credit score to drop 57 points. Of course, this happens right when I am shopping for a new car. I received no notice this was happening, and no explanation from Synchrony Bank.

Gave no notice prior to taking action but decided to close one of my accounts because my “balance was too high” even though the card is paid off EVERY MONTH. Not minimum payments, paid down to $0 every month with no issues and no missed payments. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not get a credit card that uses Synchrony Bank. We purchase a house and got furniture from Rooms to Go and a bed from Sleep number but cards through Synchrony Bank. The only reason we did was because the no interest payments for 12 months. Two months before the cards were paid off and interest kicks in the bank closes both cards and say it due to non usage for three months. Who purchase furniture every three months. This messed up my credit and now I am looking at reviews they do it all the time and that is not fair.

Over a 10 day period I tried to transfer an ira to this bank. Their system wouldn’t allow me to access their online banking. I placed multiple calls, always being placed on hold. Again and again. They finally fedexed me a code, call again, placed on hold multiple times again. Opening an account shouldn’t be thus hard. I’m bringing them business. Why did they create such a difficult process? I finally just gave up and went to another institution. Wasted 10 days of effort!

I went to discount tire to get new tires. Offer was interest free for 6 months. I paid off my balance in 5. Now I am fighting a fraud charge and they are saying it's me. I live on the east coast and charge was in California. I have never been to California in my life and have no family there! This company is the fraud! My credit will be ruined. I will have to get a lawyer to fight them and see a class action lawsuit coming. DO NOT USE SYCRONY! I was hung up on multiple times and left on hold to rot by the indian cartel. I repeat! Do NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Recently charged 300 in Interest when I was told there would be no interest for 6 months. So that means they just piled up the interest and tacked it all on in the seventh month. I pay more than the minimum every month and they are making it so I can’t even pay off a small loan of 3k. I’ve payed this company over 500 in Interest and late fees on a 3k loan! That’s insane!!!!! Stay away if you’re struggling financially. These people are sharks.

Syncrony bank will automatically renew your CD without your knowledge or approval. Once renewed, its very difficult to get your money back. My CD matured on March 31. On April 1 they renewed it. I noticed on April 3 and told them that is not what I wanted. They said it would cost me $800 to get my money back. On top of that, they have been telling me for the last week that my money would be returned "today" and they still have my money.

Synchrony bank Credit cards are not suitable for business owners. My cards keep getting declined for nonexistent, but suspected, fraud. To reconcile, it typically takes 45 to 60 minutes, proving my identity 4 different ways and repeating my contact information three and sometimes four times to different people. I have to get offline, take a video of myself and relog in where I go to the back of the line and have to, once again, prove my identity. If your time is worth anything, you will use a different card. I have had it and I will cancel this account after I've cooled down.

A dentist sent two fraudulent charges on my CARE CREDIT CARD for procedures he did not perform. An x-ray and my ledger as evidence I proved those procedures we’re not performed, but the dispute dept. sided with the crooked dentist. I am not paying a loan for procedures I didn’t have , so my card was cancelled, and a report sent to the credit bureau. Don’t use this bank - don’t use their CARE CREDIT card. The bank has terrible reviews . Synchrony Bank lost two big customers recently — they are no longer the issuer of GAP and WALMART credit cards

I run a business and offer financing to my customers through them. Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. I don’t have time to deal with idiots. They will ruin your credit score, lower your credit limit, and close your account for being a GOOD CUSTOMER...UNBELIEVABLE!! My Ashley Home Store account was closed because I never used it....my Lowe's account was closed because I was (1) day late making a payment. My JC Penney & Belk credit limit was lowered, which resulted in my credit score taking a plunge. This company will do major damage to your credit score. STAY AWAY!!

Got notice today that BP is jumping ship. This ‘bank’ has a habit of requiring payment by the 19th of each month. Then they extend the charges billed long after. Called to see why my bill wasn’t closed by the 28th this month. Said they were closing the next day. Looks like they try to collect as much interest as they can in any way possible. Goodbye and good riddance!
