Very upset, money was taken out of my account when system was not in use. Spoke with Lexis, after speaking to Kimberly. Lexis was so rude to me. I tried to explain about the money and she said, “This is not how this conversation is going to go”. I told her I was the customer and she had to listen to me. I asked for a manager and she said it could take up to 48 hours to get a call. What kind of business does business like this. This rude person needs training in communication skills or fired. One hour later I’m still shaking with upset. I have a bad heart and just had to back surgeries, plus three months in rehabilitation after back surgery. I’m moving and want my money back now! I’m calling my bank in morning and asking if this is fraud, due to you system not in use and your company stealing my money!

It’s a comfort to know that if I fall, there is someone I can reach out to for help. I dropped the device once and it registered a fall, which I suspended. Then a day or 2 later it actually fell with the device on, but it didn’t register fall.

I wonder how hard one has to fall before MG is activated. I have fallen 2 times and nothing was alerted. I didn't lose consciousness but nothing happened! I tried canceling my membership but the young man would not accept it, giving me 3 months free. I tried refusing that. I just wanted to cancel. Due to changes in my finances, the monthly charge is more than I can afford.

Very impressed with it, but one time it did not work, even though it was fully charged, I tried the test button nothing happened, I called this service number and they were able to fix it over the phone, other than that it’s great! I hope it doesn’t fail if I ever need it!

Medical Guardian had good reviews from neighbors so I initiated the contact. The sales rep was knowledgable and things went smoothly until the very end. At that point he gave me a choice of paying monthly or paying 4 times/year and getting free shipping. I took the free shipping, I gave him my credit card and we hung up. When I got the receipt I noticed I was charged for shipping. So I called back immediately and left a voice mail as no one answered. Eventually he called me back and said here was no way to give an immediate refund of the postage but that it would show up on the credit card eventually. Of course, it never did. Its too bad, because I think you have a good product, but when the sale is screwed up like this and you don't react to fix it, the memory dominates any feelings I might have toward Medical Guardian. Its a small thing but it speaks volumes about your ethics.

Generally I like the MG aids, but in my experience environmental adjustments are not very good. i.e. I was in a noisy restaurant the other night and the control to quiet background noise was useless unless I turned the volume so low I couldn’t hear anything.

I thought this was a good system until yesterday when I took a great fall flat out on the pavement in the road. Hit my head, hands, elbows, knees...all scraped up. But the MG did not go off. I went back to the house and pushed the MG button, but NO ONE ANSWERED FOR 10 MINUTES! The rep asked questions and said a manager would call. No call. So....my MG did not work to ask if I was all right, and they did not follow up.

My mother used this service for about 3.5 yrs She only used the device 1 x to seek assist after a fall .The equipment was easy to set up and worked well . My issue with them is there failure to return her money following her death on Feb 11,2021 .She had paid for 3 months service on Jan 12 and I reported her death on Feb 15 th and returned their equipment and they received it by Feb 20 They refunded $2.19 and today I was told they kept the remaining $50 to restock her returned equipmentIm sorry but that seems ridiculous

I purchased the Medical Guardian (MG) Active Guardian with fall detection for my now 92 year-old mother who lives independently (but with close support). She is remarkably fit, mentally, physically and spiritually, for an octogenarian survivor of polio. Nevertheless, last fall after a short respiratory illness, we (mom, my wife and I) decided that she was a fall risk and that a medical monitoring system would provide all of us with a sense of security. I did my homework and chose MG with the Active Guardian option and fall detection to provide mom the freedom to take short walks with her Rollator Walker and to get her mail. Except for an initial blip with the free lock box, which would not unlock, the equipment arrived on time. The equipment is attractive and setup was easy. Everyone at Medical Guardian was helpful and friendly. Initially, MG's response was excellent. Several times mom accidently activated the device's fall detection feature and the MG staff responded quickly and courteously. Periodic monthly checks resulted in the same quick response. Unfortunately, we grew complacent in our confidence that MG was there. As it turns out, it wasn't. A week ago, mom suffered an out of left field, life threatening allergic reaction to some flowers brought to her by a caring friend. She used her rescue inhaler (a precaution due to her polio) activated her unit properly (press followed by vibration), but no one answered. Luckily her rescue breather kicked in, but she was severely shaken by the lack of response. Later she was able to contact MG, but their response was unsatisfactory. A few days later, she tested the device and northing happened, the unit completely failed to make a connection. We called MG and a customer service representative took us through a reset procedure after which we were told that the unit was functioning properly with excellent battery and signal strength. The only reason given for failure was a possible interruption in local cell service. I was initially inclined to accept this excuse, but knew that that MG functions on AT&T's very reliable cellular network, and so only once. Because mom's confidence in the MG service was shaken, I suggested that she test the system more often than the suggested once a month, but especially when she is most vulnerable to a fall--just before she goes out for her daily walk to retrieve her mail. AS A RESULT OF THESE TESTS WE ASSESS THE MEDICAL GUARDIAN ACTIVE GUARDIAN WITH FALL MONITORING SERVICE TO BE ENTIRELY UNRELIABLE. This morning has been the third time in a week that my mother has tried to activate her MG unit without it making a connection. Now she refuses to wear it and I don't blame her. I am realistic about technology, especially when there is a human element involved. Nothing works 100% of the time, but the MG service failed miserably during my mother's first crisis (if her rescue breather had not worked, she would be dead with all that that entails) and has failed consistently in subsequent follow up tests. I now wonder whether this is a recent or chronic problem. There is no way to know. I paid for the entire year in advance, but will be returning the unit and asking for a refund. I trust that MG will respond quickly to my request as I am in no mood to quibble. MG was supposed to be the best service with state of the art equipment. It has failed my mom miserably. And now I have to begin the frustrating process of finding an alternative service.

Everyone was very friendly. Set up was easy, a bit too easy. Called and signed up for my mom. Got device quickly. Set up went smoothly. Two days after set up, pushed the button and nothing. It was a holiday weekend so had to wait until Monday to call. They said device wasn't charged but it had been on the charger all day and night. So they were going to send us a new charger. Never got it. Called back a week later. There was a glitch in the system and the charger order never went through. Now we are sending you a new charger. Got the new charger, set it up and charged device. Still wouldn't work. Called customer service. Oh well, your area doesn't have a consistent cell phone signal (which I believe but they couldn't have checked that when I called to sign up?). Send it back and we'll refund your money. Sent it back. Still waiting on the refund. But everyone was friendly.

I signed up for the service for my elderly mother. I paid for a full year ahead of time. They do not make it clear the "FREE" equipment is not actually "FREE" it is only a loaner. The unit they shipped was used and had what appeared to be old food and other things on it. The power cord was dirty as if it had been behind someones dusty counter for years and the box was torn. Very disappointed. On a positive note, when I called customer service they apologized and stated we should never have been sent the unit. They are as of this review supposedly sending out a brand new unit. We will wait and see but my confidence level is very low at this point.

Active Guardian worked for my mother just fine for over a year. Paid for another year of monitoring. Suddenly the battery won't hold a charge for more than 24 hours, and then less than 12 hours!! They told us that AT&T has phased out 2G and 3G service so the device is hunting for cell towers and using battery power faster!! OK, but 12 hours is worthless, so we returned the device and are waiting for a refund. Medical Guardian knows this yet they still sell the Active Guardian touting up to 5 days of battery life. Be sure to test it out for coverage in your are during their trial period. But be aware that it uses 3G and that is being shut down by AT&T.

Upon arrival to my home I learned the Base station was not preset/recorded in your computer system, which rendered it useless because my loved one could not be located. Also, the combination was not set on padlock so it is currently useless to us. I will have to call customer service again and be placed on hold forever to get this straightened out. I gave up once a few days ago. Lastly, the speaker on the base station is too weak to be clearly heard in the adjoining rooms. One would think your company would have integrated a headphone/ext speaker jack to allow your consumer the option of amplifying the caller. Because the beginning of this business arrangement and the speaker on base is so poor, I am left with no faith in your monitoring capability. I am leaning towards returning the system and reseaching another company offering your services. I paid for the service a full year in advance hoping to receive what I did not receive--more security and peace.

Everywhere in my house, I have 1-2 bars coverage! I have tons of windows. The sound coming out is not that clear and sometimes hard for my mom to understand. They sent the lock box key the first time with wrong combination ( we had discussed extensively.)

The person I spoke to provided me the information I was calling about. He then asked if I wanted to schedule a callback so I could think it over. I said "No. I'll call you when we make a decision." After receiving three calls from this person I finally decided to block the number. It's sad that people, and companies, can't honor a simple request. It's this lack of acceptance of my request that makes me think twice about conducting business with a company.

I called for information about the company's products for my father. The salesman was nice enough but seemed pushy. In the end, I did reluctantly order a subscription as opposed to talking it over with my father first. My VISA was charged the $49.45. I was told the product was being processed for shipment. I find out from the billing statement that my product was shipped USPS ground. So I've paid $50 to sit and wait for a product, which basically tells me that is the product acquisition fee. My statement also shows that I ordered a standard package when I specifically agreed to pay for a mobile package with 2 buttons. I am waiting to see what comes in. It has only been 10 days since I placed my order. USPS ground can take up to 6 weeks, according to my local post office. Now I sit and wait to see what happens. I am not pleased so far. Btw, there is NO lifetime warranty/guarantee like bestcompany.com advertised. Not sure I'll trust this site again. *After posting this review, I finally recieved a nice looking email from Medical Guardian with my shipping information and company contact information. Either serious coincidence or bestcompany.com commented?

With regards to shipping, you should typically receive your device in 7 to 10 business days if the ground shipping option is chosen (2 calendar weeks excluding any holidays), so the 6-week timeframe you discussed in your review should not be a concern. Your device should arrive shortly if it has not already. The salesman Ispoke to was polite and professional. He had a thorough knowledge of the product and sold me on the reputation of the company and the product. A billing error was made, I was billed for $439 instead of $39. Customer Service friendly and professional and took care of the problem ASAP.
