My insurance carrier was the one that recommended it for me. When I ordered it they failed to ship it when they said they would ship it. The supervisor that I talked to was very good about resolving the shipping problem that I had, but everyone else just transferred me around. As for the device, the battery life it has is very short.

The button works very well. The straps holding it on my wrist keep going bad, lleading to a series of false alarms as the button rotates to the underside of my wrist causing it to be vulnerable to accidental bumping.

Life Station is helpful in getting emergency help. But after that they drop the ball. It would be nice to know if a person is picked up and taken to the hospital where they went. I received a call about my husband but after the notification. Life Station did not know where he may have gone. I was not at home and it was alarming

Purchased this for my 95 year old mother who lived alone. Scheduled tests of the system with email to me that all was good was helpful in monitoring her getting assistance if needed. However, I paid extra every month for the Fall notification. When needed it did not work and she lay on the floor for a long time until she could get herself to her cell phone and call a neighbor. She wore the pendent outside her clothing as directed by company. She fell without notice and did not try to stop her fall. LifeStation stated that trying to stop her fall would not set off the alarm. Not doing these were given by the company as reasons for the pendent not registering the fall. In addition, the customer service representatives gave other excuses for why the pendent would not work. If there are so many reason why it won't work, they why sell it and charge me extra. I would not use this company again, nor recommend it.

I haven't had to use it yet personally. I have to contact them every month or so to check that the service is working. When I forgot to test it though, they never contacted me to notify me or to make sure that it was all alright. That's kind of a shortcoming.

I know that you're supposed to carry it around on you neck at all times, but since I'm in pretty good health I just don't have it all the time. When I called them first, I didn't get anybody on the line. They had to call headquarters and change the station that I had. After that change, they always answered very promptly.

Late on a Saturday night I went and laid out in bed to go to sleep. I rolled over and I felt a sharp pain in the center of my chest. It wouldn't go away, so I called my son. He was 3 hours away so he just suggested I try and press the button. I did that and they sent an ambulance out to check on my vitals. I didn't even have to take the ambulance, but they really helped me.

We got it because it was the right price. I once pressed it by accident and they called me right away to see if there was anything wrong. The thing is that they wouldn't let me stop paying for the service for a time while I was figuring out my living situation. I've been paying for it for a year without needing it because they wouldn't let me suspend the service for a bit. I'm hoping my son will return the machine so I can stop paying for no use.

Response time is WAY too slow. The phone will "ring" about 4 times (I'm told it's looking for a signal with those rings), then another 7 or 8 rings before a human answers! I could be dying by then. I'm very disappointed with the time involved. The only reason I'm keeping the system and not depending on calling 911 myself.....is because the LifeStation works away from my home and I probably wouldn't have my phone with me.
