I know very little of other similar systems, but I find this one short on features. You cannot speak through the pendant, which causes me to hobble painfully through the house on a false alarm. They do, however, call before they dispatch emergency services, and I try to keep my cell phone on me or nearby at all times..

I called with a question because I had gotten a letter saying that I had purchased a protection plan WHICH I DID NOT DO!!!!! The man I spoke with was totally rude, and wouldn't accept the fact that I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS PROTECTION PLAN. He insisted that I had and told me 3or 4 times that I had talked to someone for 7 or 8 minues and some seconds - I did not, but he kept insisting that I had! MOST ANNOYING!!!!!! RUDE MAN!!!!!

They advertised the fall detections pendant and it is a joke. To test it you throw it in the air and it lands on the carpet and does not go off. The place I spend most of my time is in my carpeted house or maybe outside on the grass so the alalarm would not work there. The only place that it would work is if I were to fall on concrete or a very hard surface. If I were in that type of situation then there would probably be someone to help me like in a store. I cancelled the detection pendant after about a year as I considered it as being worthless.

Poor customer service. Receive calls to update my service, I say no and feel pressured to accept offer. When I call to end service, I am told the person I am being transferred to will instruct me on how to remove battery to prevent the device activating while in transport back to you and I get no such instructions. This happened both times I returned devices. I call to replace a pendant and told it will arrive in 3 to 5 business days and two weeks later I call back to follow up on why it has not arrived and after speaking with the correct department the pendant arrives shortly after thereafter. I am told refunds take up to 30 days and 30 days later I am calling back to check on the status of my refund and having to wait another 30 days to receive the refund. Also, when I make a follow up call the person who answers my call tells me they don't see notes in my account regarding the previous call and have to speak with their supervisor to be told what to do enable to help me. No one seems to be on the same page there. Your customer representitives are caught off guard when I tell them about the notes I took from my last conversation with a person there or when I tell them according to FedEx you did receive the devise returned to you and the location, date and time it was received at your facility. I am currently still waiting for my refund that should have been received March 10, 2021.

Although we have not had an emergency we've had false alarms mistakenly set off and that in itself gives me confidence that my husband who had Alzheimers is in good hands with MedAlert.. I have dropped it and it did now sound the alarm that I had fallen, several times. Also, I pushed it twice for 911; it just rang and rang--they never answered. A person was having a heart attack, and I could have got an earlier response. The battery does NOT last 4 days, as I was told--about 2 days. I called in a few times to report issues and was not offered an exchg and it is a brand new device--at least the first time I called.

Sometimes the device calls for help for no apparent reason. This happened twice for me. Sometimes the device does not work when I test it for a fall. It doesn't seem to work on carpets and my home has wall to wall carpeting. Yet it called when it accidentally dropped from my hand about three inches on to my bed.

I would recommend Medical Alert; I think they're good and there for you in an emergency. When I test they call right back and they seem very efficient, I have never had to use it in an emergency but I test is every once in a while. Any time I ask a question, they seem to have the answers for me.

They are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough, especially the fall detector. I have had several false alarms when nobody pressed the button and the first responders came to my door because we couldn't get to the phone because it was my old phone number. I called on Saturday and the office was closed and I couldn't reach any nobody and that disturbs me. There is a lot of room for improvement.

We had a problem before we got a new one because my husband would cross his arms and the device would go off and we had rescue people at the door and we didn't know what happened but we got a new one and the pendant around his neck so that hasn't happened again. They showed up at the door when it was a mistake so it works and that's what we want.

They have been helpful but it has been somewhat confusing and takes more time than I would expect to set it up and to troubleshoot it. I'm not sure how to change the battery on the component that the person wears. I'm alerted when the battery's dead so it seems like they're monitoring that so that part works.

I accidentally pressed the button and in no time I had the emergency crew very quickly. When the agent came on it was a very quick response even though it wasn't actually an emergency. I was very happy with the quick response in both cases. Every time I've called in to check the system, I had no problem. I've gotten very good answers back.

I tested it. They ask you to do it once a month. So far it's working okay. The one that hangs around your neck isn't very convenient. It gets tangled up and I can't get it adjusted properly.

It's gone off buy itself sometimes, but other times when we've had to use it they've sent ambulances and alerted the family members. If they don't get a hold of her, they contact other family members to make sure she's ok.

My husband fell out of bed and was barely able to move, but he pushed the button and they magically appeared. I'm paying for this to be hooked up, but it's not hooked up yet, so I don't exactly know what to do. They give you a number to call but it doesn't work, I've tried it a number of times.

I am away from the home just about everyday of the week, I take it with me all the time, occasionally I forget. It's a good device for a senior citizen living alone. I'm not too found of the idea that you have to take this battery pack with you when you want to ever go outside or away from the home. I am always away from the home, so frequently that I have to remember to take it with me all the time and I have forgotten that on occasions. So I'm not thrilled about that
