With Rise Broadband, customers receive speeds between 3 Mbps and 15 Mbps. Its internet packages start at $39.95 per month. Rise Broadband's typical data caps are as high as 250 GB.

Different customers have different needs, and Rise Broadband understands that. Rise Broadband offers residential services through three main plans:

  • Good — $29.95, up to 25 Mbps internet speed

TV Streaming Services at No Additional Cost

Many internet service provider companies will also offer TV streaming services by partnering with a cable or satellite TV company and bundling services in order to help customers "save" money. However, even with these bundles, customers typically pay for both the high speed internet and TV services. This is not the case with Rise Broadband; the internet provider offers its customers TV streaming options at no additional cost, which can be a big money-saver. Higher Than Average Prices

Basic Rise Broadband internet services start at $29.95 per month, which is a fairly high price for a low-tier internet service. As speeds increase and other features are added in, the price goes up. This means that the customer could end up paying a large amount of money for their internet services each month.

The download speed and speed test results offered by Rise are also very slow in comparison to the industry standard. Some companies offer as high as 1 Gbps and Rise can rarely guarantee that much.

Fees

Like most other ISPs, Rise Broadband has some additional fees to watch out for:

  • Early termination fee — $250 for a two-year contract, $125 for a one-year contract
  • Modem/router rental fee — $10.99 per month
  • Installation fee — $75It is helpful that Rise Broadband outlines many of these fees transparently.

Low Data Caps

Not only does Rise Broadband have set data limits for its customers, but the limits are fairly low. Ranging from 150 to 250 GB per month, Rise Broadband's data caps may deter some customers, especially considering that there are several other internet providers in the industry that have higher data limits or no data limits at all.

Work from home Complete drop in speeds 2-3 times a month, with little to no help from tech support. I live in a remote area, and Rise is the only internet I can get. I've been with them since they were Digis. 2 to 3 times a month the speeds plummet to 0.6Mbps, once I call support, they tell me to either connect a laptop directly to the radio cable, or to power cycle. I've been told about 9 times now that its my router, I have about $1200 worth of routers in a box now because I replace them, only for the issue to keep happening. I whole heartedly think that they are throttling speeds (which they claim to not do). I'm about ready to go around town, find all the customers in the area, and file a class action lawsuit over violation of contract, and false advertising. Either te speed issues are the customers fault, or its because there are just too many people on the service at once, which is nonsense. Last time this issue happened the lady I spoke to laughed at my frustration, and once I got off the call everything was back to normal, in less than 30 seconds of ending the call. Something shady is being pulled by this company, and its going to cost them a whole lot more than a few angry reviews, or phonecalls.

New construction home. Been a customer for over 12 years. Install tech didn’t want to work from the beginning! Pulled in front of my house on the road and sent a nobody is home leaving in 15 minutes message. I have a picture of the rise truck with 6 vehicles in the drive way and the window cleaner standing by his truck really??? Tried to quit because he didn’t know which of 4 wires was the one he needed. Tech left then was told to come back from his boss because he did something wrong. Eventually left said everything is good. Had my audio video guy come the next day to perform his work and no internet! I’m told they can’t come back for a week. Merry Christmas to us. Thanks rise! Very un happy

Rise broadband texted me the day before and day of my installation appointment and also sent a text when the installer was on his way, this was followed up by the installer calling me in person with an ETA. The installer was professional & extremely competent at his job. Everything went very well and as Seth was my first point of contact with RIse Broadband I found him to be an excellent representative of the company. I'm delighted with my service. I highly recommend then as an ISP.

Excellent customer service at my residential site. The dish was mounted on the roof at the most effective spot and then the router was connected inside the house. It was very easy to reset the password and reconnect all my devices that were dependent on the wi-fi. I am writing the same review here that I will put everywhere I can review Rise Broadband because I am so thrilled with their service and I am shocked at the low ratings. We have not had access to high speed internet as we live in the middle of farmland outside of Morris, IL. As we were re-building our home after a house fire, I kept looking into internet service because I knew we would eventually be offered something other than satellite internet which is highway robbery that costs an arm and a leg for very little data. As we neared completion of our home Rise Broadband came up in a search. I stifled my excitement at the thought of having internet like the rest of the world, even after calling them and having them tell me that they DID in fact offer internet in our area (this HAD happened before with other companies only to find out they couldn't cover us). I reserved my excitement until they sent out the service technician who would install everything and we actually had everything hooked up and running. Well, the tech/employee who came out had everything hooked up in less than 45 minutes and we were streaming all of the different platforms moments thereafter...HALLELUJAH!!! After reading the low reviews before signing up, I really thought that it was going to be a disaster or too good to be true. But after having a couple of months with no problems I'm starting to wonder why so many bad reviews? Are we the proverbial people walking through the desert and simple food and water is a godsend? Other people are just so used to internet that they complain about having service? I don't know but after having nothing for so long and now we can watch everything in our Netflix queue, Amazon Prime, HBO, Showtime, Hulu, EVERYTHING! We could not be more happy! I truly am sorry for anyone who does not have internet at all but if you are complaining just to complain or your internet wasn't lightning fast literally every second of the day I don't have sympathy for you. Maybe go without internet in your home for a few years, then reinstate it and see if you're not grateful to be able to stream all those tv shows and movies. I am eternally grateful for Rise Broadband. The few times I've called, their customer service has been extremely helpful. I've never had to call them about problems with our service, only to ask how to pay online and a question about a fee (which they took off immediately because I asked if they could).

i live in Palisade, colorado. there is no cable service or phone lines for DSL. my only choices were satellite or broadband. doing my due diligence, i saw good reviews for satellite but expensive at $75 to $85 a month. Rise Broadband had really horrible reviews not only for service but for over billing and wrong data usage charges. but i was desperate and Rise just now at end of 2018 started offering no contract, $29.99 service at 15Mbs, $10 equipment per month for one year. i figured that since i could cancel with no penalty, i might as well give it a try. well, to my happy surprise, service has been great with 15 to 20 Mbs service and accurate billing so far for the 6 weeks i have been with them. it seems maybe they have made big improvements in service and accounting like the sales people claimed. i'll review again if things change. but right now would highly recommend them in the grand junction, colorado area.

I don't know why there are negative comments, maybe some people have had a bad experience with this company but not me. I live out in the country and they are the only internet provider that services this area. Their service is great and I am very happy with them. I an online student and a mom of three and sometimes its hard to keep up with bills and they always seem to work with me. Since I am an online student I always need to have internet and cannot go without it and they always work with me no matter what and I have not gone without having service EVER. I think it's a great company and I would actually recommend it, I have three neighbors out here where I live and they all have Rise Broadband and have never heard them complain. Thank Rise Broadband!!!

We are at the end of Century links lines and Long lines cable internet lines. So right in the middle of NO service! So mobile hotspots were our only option. $90 for 20gb is expensive. Rise Broadband starting sending flyers. I thought sure this is another we can give you internet oh nope sorry. Rise broadband actually installed working internet. (Gaming, streaming, we can use wifi in the house internet!) We have 350gb data cap which we have come close to (Summer bored kids) but I can't complain about this company they gave us something nobody else could. It works, we can play online games. I'm grateful for Rise Broadband! It's around $53.00 a month which isn't outragous so I'm happy the kids are happy!

It is in my opinion that Rise Broadband is the worst ISP in the country. My internet has only worked two days in the the last two weeks. I am a computer expert. My 93 year old uncle Don was one of the major engineers for NASA for the Apollo 11 mission who sent Neil Armstrong to the moon. My family built the eniac the first computer. So we basically invented the first computer. I have ran a full diagnostic test on all my internet equipment and find no problems. Any other company the field techs wouldn’t just go home and leave you without working internet during the entire Labor Day Weekend. Only Rise. Undependable, arrogant field tech’s with an ahole attitude and no college degree. They will use trick sales tactics to make you think your router is a problem when I know better. I’ve also known field tech’s that will intentionally screw up your internet to make you think the router is a problem. With the way Rise does business they should have their FCC certificate suspended or go to jail for these serious FCC violations. I have done business with many internet companies. I’ve never done business with a ISP that will just leave their paying customers without working internet for days and just don’t care. We’re also suppose to have wi fi in our public park powered by Rise Broadband. It never works. They rip their customers off at every angle. I’m done with Rise Broadband. I’d like to see them go out of business. Their like dealing with a crooked lawyer. I’d happily pay $100 a month for starlink just to have internet that works. I’ll be seeking an isp that can actually keep the internet on. Save yourself a headache. Avoid Rise Broadband at all costs. They should give me a year of free internet with all the trouble I’ve had. If you have been a unhappy Rise Broadband customer call and report them as a violation to the FCC. Their just not worth the headache and the buyer has a right to beware.

This has turned into an absolute joke. Call call call had them for many years. And pay 96 a month to have no internet and a tech to come look at my house to say the equipment is fine its the tower that they will not fix. Was told i would have them adjust my bill and call backs setup to just get ran around and nothing get done. Still waiting to get a credit nothing . About at the end of my string with this. When you pay for service you expect to get service not call call call. Been calling for months for nothing except b.s. reps are getting rude and you call customer service to get transferred to tech to get a call from tier two to say well its not staying connected. Well no duh sherlock does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. I would not.be calling if it was working. To say its overpriced is an understatement when you figure it never works and constantly is down. When your technician who comes out says call them everday to fix it because he has the same problem. It would say you know there is a problem.and are still charging customers which is the definition of fraud.

Setting up service is so easy. Makes you think they are a great company to work with. However canceling service and returning equipment a whole different story. 4 weeks prior to moving my 5th wheel on 8/11 I contacted them to have service picked up. Lady on the other line was EXTREMELY rude and said my equipment would be picked up 8/5. 8/5 rolls around, I call to get an ETA so I wasn't waiting all day. They tell me they don't have any information about a cancelation......FRUSTRATING! Get a woman who helps and gives me actual information. Equipment will be picked up 8/11 12:30-4:30. 6:30, 2 hours late I get a call they didn't finish their jobs, earliest they can come out is 8/12 10am. I have an appointment(pregnancy. Am I right lol) they ask me what time I can have them out 8am on 8/12. We will see if they show up! Trailer is being moved at 11am on 8/12. I'm so fed up. Also told me I'd be responsible for any lost equipment if I left it behind, which would make sense if they showed up when they were originally supposed to!!!! At this point I do not know what to do with this satellite. If it's not picked up, I have no choice but to leave it behind. 0/10 would not recommend.

When it is up it is good. Unfortunately it goes down after every severe storm. Usually back up within an hour or so. Sometimes it takes days. Seem to lack feet on the ground to fix problems. Support team is an oxymoron. You get the same results by calling Dialaprayer. Promises of things getting better-- things just drift along with no meaningful estimates or status reports. The persons on the help desk always hve a heavy accent and names like Carlos, Bernie, or Erin. They are usually in Arizona. The problem is in Texas. They will give you a ticket number and plenty of buzz words, but leave you feeling that they don't really give a damn. Living in rural Texas, there are few good options. I have had DSL, satellite, and broadband. They all seem to depend on the same leased tower bandwidth and go down with severe weather. My next try will be to see if Verizon offers internet connection at a good price. I have one of their broadband modems for my PC that I use on the road. It always provides good bandwidth and availability. It has limited data and high cost Time to see if Verizon can provide an affordable solution. I have been getting less than 1 mbs with Rise Broadband for almost a week. Sometimes nothing at all. I used to do better than than with dial up. Time for a change, hopefully for the better.

Working from home I needed to choose a reliable internet. I chose Rise Broadband It took a few days for someone to come out to set it up. The set up was quick and relatively simple. I hooked up the internet and phone. I used it for approx 5 years and then moved to an area where they didn’t service. The pricing was consistent and pretty reasonable! They have awesome customer service and support! I hope they service my area soon!

I love that their unlimited plan is actually unlimited. Unlike my old provider who was constantly throttling me. There’s no throttle on my plan until 2 TB, so I Can stream movies constantly without having to worry.. — no buffering and no throttle, for the same price I was paying for 10 GB with my old provider. There were minor problems with getting my install scheduled but they stepped up to the plate and got those addressed for me. #BestCompanyReview

They have great service in Sadorus, IL. I can stream music and my kids can watch their Roku T.V.'s and I can be on the computer all at the same time without interruption! Great speeds. I thank God they provide service in my area. The only drawl-back is their prices are a little high, especially for a family trying to squeeze by. But I am happy to have them.

We just got our Rise Broadband installed on Saturday and so far, so good. Our previous provider, HughesNet, was ridiculously slow so we decided to try Rise. Like I said, so far, so good, but it's only been a few days. The installer came in the time window scheduled and was very courteous and got us up and running with no problem. I hope our speedy internet continues without issues.

So far, so good. Installation was a breeze and the technician arrived as planned - even called prior to arrival to give estimate of time. After 3 days, my internet is working just fine — I live in a rural area with only 2 options for WiFi service so I was concerned. TV streaming has been good/great so far. Fingers crossed for long-term happiness.

We could never get service. Been on hot spot for 3 years. After Rise made a location change on their tower, we found we could begin getting service. I must say that I am SO glad to finally have something. Install went well, and staff have been extremely nice/professional. Rise has had some mixed reviews in my area, but I have had no problems so far, and am hopeful that they are working hard to correct their issues.

Morgan was absolutely amazing with our install. He answered all the questions we had about how everything worked. He went over every aspect of the equipment and he even took the time to explain to my children why they didn’t want to mess with the equipment and how to “fix” it if they pulled out the plugs. My kids are 1&3. Right from the very beginning I have had great customer service from the initial start to the install and any questions or problems I have had, they have quickly resolved them.

I had some problems the first week I had service, and I put off calling a technician thinking I could fix it myself...but when I finally gave up and decided to just call...it was a good decision, and made things easy from then on...I called and the lady was nice....I wasnt home at that moment, but the lady offered to call back,..She called back when she said she would, instead of having to call and wait on hold again....she was friendly and helpful...at some point I lost connection with her, and by then their tech support was closed...I ended up calling back the next day...another guy was really helpful, instead of putting me on hold to consort with his team, he offered to call back shortly, and he did!...within five to ten minutes...he said the connection loss was due to something involving the router, or the antenna, and offered to send a technician out on the same day!...a guy came and replaced the router, and I haven't had a problem since! ....I am only in a 5 meg plan, and have still had averages faster than 5.. I'm happy! ...fully satisfied with their service....I could be using windstream, that is popular around here, but they are overpriced, and they charge a lot of taxes on their bills...Rise is much cheaper, and better than windstream I think! I moved to Colorado in 2005 and started with LpBroadband. Over the years, the company has merged with others until it is now Rise Broadband. I recently switched to their new high speed service on a 2 year contract for abut 60% of what I had been paying. Previously, I had 5 Mbs down and 1 Mbs up. The new service is 20 Mbs down and 4 Mbs up. This has been a huge improvement in my connectivity. I can actually stream HD video without constant pauses for buffering. I use my connection for working from home and as a software developer, it is now much faster uploading my code to servers in the cloud. Overall, I am very happy and finally feel like I have true high speed service. Prior to this upgrade, I would have rated them as a zero, but now, I have enough speed to really get things done. (I can't cut the cord on my satellite TV service ... there is a 350GB per month data cap.)

When our family first became aware of Rise we were ecstatic, 25mbps was unbelievable for our area offer 3mbps on DSL. When it was installed we got 14mbps from the technicians own devices, he admitted we probably would get much better, disappointing, but still a vast improvement and was acceptable for us. Over the next year speeds fell to 10mbps and at "peak" times 5mbps. Again, I tried not to complain as it was still better than our alternatives at the time. Then in December of 2021, we got an email about an upgrade to our tower and how it would improve speeds and stability. Over the next few months Rise became unusable, dial-up speeds of 1mbps or less and that's when it wasn't disconnecting every 10 minutes. We called got told various, but different, things every call. Eventually a technician was sent out and, after trying various things, was kind enough to tell us that the new "upgrade" to the towers make it more difficult to reach us as far away as we are and that Rise for all intents and purposes stop servicing our area and probably could no longer provide any faster or more reliable connection than what we were currently receiving. Yet, Rise kept charging me for a service and speed that never reached what we were paying for, was now worse than dial-up when working and, customer service still had the audacity to tell me I should be paying $10 more a month when I called to complain. The two stars is simply because at one time they gave us an acceptable service, not great, when we had nothing. It wouldn't surprise me if they were doing this or other shady stuff to other customers, especially after reading some of these reviews.

We live in a area where service is very spotty and unreliable, but our technician was able to find a perfect line of site to a nearby tower. The service is great! We can stream and use zoom with no problem at all, even with multiple people using the WiFi all at the same time! I’m very happy with Rose Broadband!

UPDATE: I am raising this to 4 stars since I now am getting the speed I am paying for and the great customer service. I have had Rise Broadband for years and after many many phone calls and many service visits with new towers pointed and new equipment. I can't do it anymore. The speeds average 4-5 Mbps download when I pay for 15 Mbps. They have never improved. But EXCELLENT customer service though, every time I called. Also prices are fair. If they could get me the 15Mbps, I would gladly stay with them.

Recently installed Rise Broadband at our new home where choices of internet coverage are very limited. The installer answered all of our questions, provided a very professional installation and had the system up and running in a half hour. At 25mb loading is much faster than what other carries offered in the area.

Was scheduled between 8 and 12 am, installer was a little late but received update on when he would arrive and was here just a few minutes later. Installer was helpful and did an excellent job. Was able to give me an unobstructed view of your tower so have a reasonably fast service.

I live in the country and there no internet providers in my areas. Rise was the only one that would provide service. I have had service for almost a year and must say my data cap is 350 and if i go over which i do often the charge for every 10G over is almost nothing. Service is great and connection fast. I was reluctant to get service cause of bad reviews, but i'm glad I didn't let that sway me and my family, cause we have never been happier, having internet. My cap is 350 my speed is 15m down and my bill is $68 a month. Not bad, I have paid way more in the passed from companies with no caps.

Poor reliability and internet speed is up and down. When I went to cancel service their tech came to my house when I wasn't home and climbed on my house to remove the dish. He left the bracket and they refuse to come out and remove it. This company was disrespectful of my time and property. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

goes from 50-20-10-5 and back up ... if yall want us to remain customers yall have to do better to maintain consistency... I UNDERSTAND I can't get 50mbps 24/7 I don't expect that... but at least consistent speeds of 20-30mbps would be nice instead of the ping spiking and service dying all together and needing me to reboot the whole system to get the internet back on. The hoops I have to go through just to get yall to stay on top of this is ludicrous , and as I said I UNDERSTAND its not perfect but there's no consistency with yall other than consistently bad service

Switched back to rise after 3 years with 903 and their 35% late fee charges , then charging double that for not paying the late fee and will disconnect your service even though they bill a month in advance. We left rise after two years for constantly throttling our internet speed, we went back to them at the end of January26 , 50mbps downloads, got slower the past few days to 5-9 mbps, technical support couldn’t resolve the issue so we were told that they were currently making upgrades to the system and had no scheduled completion date , so we just have to deal with it. It’s February 17th. So if 903 broadband is screwing you over, rise broadband is not the solution

One of the worst internet providers I have used. The speeds I had were not bad, I never complained about the speeds. The connectivity was horrible. Their service went offline many times a week. When you would call them, the excuse was, our technicians are working on it. It wouldnt come back online for maybe 8 hours. Then they would not give you a discount until you called their billing dept. and gave them a case number. The last straw was when they went offline for 7 days. Calls were always answered with, we are working on it. I had 4 other neighbors on the same tower. They were all told the same thing. We asked what the problem was, they said, there was no power at the tower. We got all 5 families together and called and said if this issue is not fixed and back online in 8 hours, all 5 of us are leaving Rise. What do you know, it got fixed. Phone calls to the Regional manager told us, not one person had been working on the problem. All 5 families left Rise. Then, they owed me a refund of over $100. They said it would take 6-8 weeks to receive the check. 3 months later, no check. They had already got their receiver off my roof and told me, oh it's 6 weeks after the equipment is returned do you get your check. 2 months later, no check. So my lawyer made a call. Oh my, what do you know, the check showed up in 4 days. I would never in a million years recommend this company to anyone.

Our family has been with Rise Broadband for years being us and our in laws that live nearby. Tech service has always been great and would leave them 5 stars anytime we have had to make a call but when it comes to billing I would leave it at 1 for the fact it’s easy to talk to get ahold of a person. I called last month to change my bill to unlimited since the up charges were INSANE. I was told that it was updated to the unlimited plan and the total would be $70 something a month. Perfect I can work with that. This month our bill the came back at $242 for only INTERNET!!!!! I called and literally all they would do was said sorry the Rise Broadband customer service person I talked to last month made a mistake and didn’t change my plan so to make up for this they will take HALF the overage charges away and sorry there is nothing more they can do and that my bill is for sure updated to unlimited for the next month… I shouldn’t have to pay any of the overage charges in my opinion since it isn’t my mistake… I used to recommend this company a couple years ago but not anymore. I would hate to see someone I cared about it treated like this.

When I started with Rise in 2018 I asked for a 25Mbs plan. There was a special going on and it was very tempting so I asked for the higher speed. At the time I was told that in my area there were only 5Mbs plans available in my area. Well, that was still ok, figuring we did not have any cell service and no idea when that might happen. Ok, I have never been charged the “Special” price for the plan I signed up for, my fault I guess for not canceling the first billing cycle. I have written several emails, never a response to the request for explanation on the overcharge. The service is ok, though so we live with it. Now I am getting these really obnoxious emails about “going over the plans cap” and they will charge me for the overage in 10GB increments. When it is a problem with billing and it IS their fault, you can’t get anything from them. When it is a “overage issue” they won’t leave you alone. According to their advertised plan, they have overcharged me $10.00 a month for over a year. Alright, take the overage out of THAT. Mike, Nevada

I have been a customer of Skybeam/Rise for over a dozen years. There has been some interment interruptions once in a while but it has been most acceptable. Anytime that I needed service regarding a problem with my connection they had technician here within a couple of days. Never was there a question regarding my having to pay a service fee.
