Rise Broadband is a terrible internet provider. For the first two months I had great service and then the speed dropped so low it has become nonfunctional. They keep saying th3 trouble is on your end or it’s on their tower and that they have technicians working on it. I have had it and I’m going to call the Iowa Attorney General’s office in Des Moines, Iowa and see if they will investigate them for perpetrating a fraud by advertising to deliver a package and taking my money but failing to deliver 60% of their advertised speed.

TERRIBLE... They have been charging me for service that I have not had in 6 months. They are not authorized to charge my account, yet somehow they still keep doing it. I have been using my phone as a hotspot for internet for the last 6 month. I have NOT had access to Rise broadband. This is an awful company and I will be consulting with an attorney as this cannot seem to be resolved.

We ordered small business service as we moved to a new location and Rise Broadband was the only provider available. Their internet service is decent but we were 'misinformed' by the rep that helped us sign up for service. We were meant to also have phone lines installed but the technician didn't have the equipment. We had to call customer service in order to remind them to install our phones. One would think that the technician or someone would make a note in order to provide full service before we had to call. Customer service is pretty terrible.

I just signed up with Rise, they didnt come on the appointment date at all the first time and second appointment they were late after waiting all day its pretty irritating. Im currently paying for 50mbps and only getting 0-1mbps. I called and they said there was an issue woth my connection to their tower and would call me back. Its been two days and no call back as of yet. Very disappointed with their customer service and service.

They are absolutely GREEDY. They bought out Digis in our area several years ago and all they have done is increased my bill every 6 months until I am paying 70% more money now without increasing my service or MB speeds one iota. They say they are spending more money to upgrade equipment, but haven't spent the money in OUR area because we are rural and they don't have enough of a customer base to justify it. So, same single tower providing same service for a LOT more money. Totally unscrupulous as far as I am concerned.

The WORST internet provider I have ever had. I paid for 20Mb download speeds and rarely had above 4Mb. It's time for internet providers to be held accountable for advertised speeds, at least 80% of what their selling or refunds are due, do you hear me state attorney generals! The only reason I stayed as long as I did I had no other choice, now I do and I'm gone. The new company provides 15Mb down and every time I've checked it I'm at least above 12Mb and sometimes close to 20 Mb

This is the worst internet service. It takes 4 days for someone to come “fix” any issues if you are having problems. All internet providers in rural areas are operating in a monopoly. What that means is all internet providers have an agreement to not offer services if there is an existing internet provider in the area so you are stuck with only one. This is unamerican and should be illegal. All these greedy lowlifes only want one thing and that’s your money.

Well just got off the phone with RISE Broadband.... they decommissioned a tower and no longer provided service to the area in TX where my parents house is.... I have not had service there for 4 months...Yet RISE has continued to charge me for service they know they cannot provide and that it has been canceled. They have refused to refund me for all the time i was not connected... Just need to let everyone know what kind of rip off company they actually are...

It is very sad that where there is an internet outage... you call in... and you sit on hold for OVER 2 hours and finally get fed up of being on hold and hang up. Internet was down for 3 hours give or take and no way to contact anyone about it since it was after 8pm. Not very impressed with the NEW SERVICES with Rise Broadband.

Julie Aldrich I was charged for 6 months after I had canceled my service. No one at Rise will talk to me about it. They claim I was suppose to call back in 30 days to verify that I wanted my service canceled. I told them I wanted it canceled absolutely because I had already been set up with another company. I had no way of knowing I needed to call back 30 days later to verify again I wanted it canceled. BAD BUSINESS.

Whats worse than their service, is their customer service. I have the fastest residental speed they offer, a bill over 50 dollars a month, and at 5 pm weekdays there’s so much congestion you can’t stream a movie and it’s the same on weekends. What’s worse is their customer service. I live so close to their tower I can watch the birds crap on it, and that’s pretty much what you get as well 💩. If i had two more arms I’d give rise and their customer service.... 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

This service is deplorable. I have no other choice or I would stop service immediately. The speeds are horribly slow. Having a cap of 150 gig on data and being charged for every 10 gigs over is outrageous. This is one of my highest monthly bills and there is nothing I can do about it. Customer service is rude and very unhelpful. This company is disgusting and deceitful.

Appt. windows 7 to 14 days out in the middle of the week between 12:30/4:30 pm, tell me how convenient that is for working stiffs. Looking so forward to an alternative to this provider. Would not recommend Rise Broadband to someone I hate with a passion, much less a total stranger. Happy surfing......

Outages... constant outages... and always on Thursday or Friday. If it goes out on Thursday I know it'll be up by the weekend. If it goes out on Friday, chances are I won't have it back until sometime Monday. When my contract is done so am I.

This is a very crooked company, they lie about speeds to get a contract for service, when the speeds aren't as advertised (in my case, supposed to get 50Mbps only get 4-9 Mbps) they will not let you out of the contract! I called only 5 days after the speeds were sub-par, only to have a tech come out and say " that's as good as it gets here". So I filed a formal complaint with the FCC at this web address: consumercomplaints.fcc.g… Hope some of the other people that had trouble will do the same. A class action suite is in order here, there are a lot of unhappy people.

DO NOT USE service was good for a while then came rate hikes it went from 40 to 87 a month I called and asked they said it was because I did not have a contract so I get a contract for around 40 get my first bill and its 75 a month I call and they say there is a change of service fee at 150 spread out over 3 months I ask to cancel service and they say there is a 240 cancellation fee. do not get roped into this service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up with them. Horrible customer service and sales with false promises... Told us they would take care of the transfer from Century Link to them, A Month later it had not been called called hem they said "NO" we don't do that. You have to. They said " you needed to request a from from us" Serious!! So not only to I get to pay for their lousy service for month I get to pay Centurylink to. I am so frustrated with all the companies lying to the consumers and getting away with it. If I could give a minus star I would. Consumers beware!!!

I’m hoping this is a public post, this company is a joke. Lousy internet at a high price and if you cancel before the end of the month they don’t prorate your monthly payment for the service you never use. Oh did I mention they then add insult to injury by charging an additional $5.00 2 weeks after I cancelled and after paying for a full month (only using 2 weeks of the service). Stay clear!!! Consumer beware!!

We have had this internet provider for a while now. And we are not able to recieve any better service due to our location in the country. Anyways, this internet service provider is the absolute worst provider ever. Clear skies and clouds will interfere with connection. Network passwords never works, constant disconnection. Broadband needs to get their act together and start providing a good internet service to the people paying for it!

When having my service installed in December of 2017 the technician stepped through the ceiling of our newly constructed home. We had a supervisor come out and view the damage. We had estimates to fix the damage and provided that with photos of the damage to the supervisor as instructed. We have still not been reimbursed. The service is the absolute slowest internet I have used. I would never recommend this service.

We have only been customers of Rise Broadband because they bought out Digis. We have been very disappointed with the reliability and speed of the service. Meanwhile our bill went higher and higher. So much so that we decided it was time to move on. We made our last payment and received a bill for $5. When we called about it we were told it was for the paper used for the statement. Nice way to treat your customer. Never going back to Rise Broadband again.

This is the worst company ever! Customer service is horrible and I can't even stream movie on HD. We have the LTE and it is super slow. If you live in Anna, TX. do not use this company. I have spent hours on the phone with them over the last several years. I would not even give them a one star but have not choice. We own our own company so I know what customer service should be and they have missed the bar by a long shot.

Ricardo the customer service rep when i called back claimed he was going to stay on the line with me until it was picked up by a Retention Specialist. Well after 5 mins on hold he is gone too and I am back to this miserable music.

Frequent outages. Current outage has been a month. They still expect you to pay your bill while they take forever to find out what the problem is. Calling customer "service" is a joke. Wait an hour plus every time before you get someone, just for them to say "we know there's an outage. We're working on it." There is never an estimate for when it will be done.

My experience with rise broadband has been horrible! From signing up for 15 mega and only getting 1.5 and being told the monthly charge would be 29.94 a month and getting a bill for 49.94 a month the then cancelling services after 5 days because it is horrible then they trying to charge me a cancellation fee of $10 a month for 2 yrs.. then finally got it cancelled as I was told I had a week to cancel.. but want a full months charge for 5 days of service.. what a joke company!! Do not use them!! Beware

Rise has given poor service, frequently it is down, customer service is clueless and you speak to some in a different part of the country each time....like Idaho then Indiana. .then Utah..then Colorado. Thankfully we have gotten a second provider here in rural Northern Nevada. Friends filled a Better Business claim against them...got action. AVOID RISE AT ALL COSTS!

I asked for WIFI only. I just learned that for over a year I have been paying for WIFI and a nonexistent phone line. I am not asking to be reimbursed for the phone line I just want it taken off of my bill. They want to charge me a $75 fee to downgrade to a packaged I asked for to begin with.. I called multiple people and no one would fix the issue.

HORRIBLE service! Been paying for twice the bandwidth we’ve actually been receiving, which seems to be a consistent theme in the reviews. Called to cancel service on 2/23, but fully paid through 2/28. Said service ends immediately- I’d have to call back on 2/28 to cancel otherwise. Also found I was charged a $30 “reconnect fee” due to my husband’s credit card renewal not updated for the autopay. But no alert to tell us! SO glad to be done with them and paying $20 more per month with new company and 5 times the speed! Really would have given them zero stars, but not an option. Good riddance and steer clear!

Rise broadband was one of the only providers in my area. Im used to having comcast with inlimited data. So rise doesnt have unlimited, they give you 200gb a month for internet which is nothing. We use about 500gb a month and they charge us for each gb we go over. No other company does this, most will just throttle the speed if you go over their cap not charge you. Do not use this company for internet at all, if you watch netflix, hulu, youtube and other stream services you will always go over. They have not got with the times and over service from 98.

Rise broadband claims to give you 15mbps when all you ever get is 8-10. They say if they give you 60% of the 15mbps they are within their rights. When I moved to new neighborhood this was one of our only options. Had to sign a two year contract. As homes went up around us the line of sight has been lost to our tower supposedly and they will not let us out of contract. When I talk with customer support, I always get some new excuse or reason why the service is slower. Recommend you stay away from this mediocre at best internet company.

I have been with this company for over a year because I can’t get out of the contract without paying a large amount of money. Customer service and technical support are awful and, after being on hold for over an hour, pretty much nonexistent. Can’t watch Netflix with any other device connected to internet and the internet is constantly not working. When I do get in touch with tech support, I am told to reboot everything. This doesn’t help at all! BE CAREFUL and SMART than me, don’t sign up for this scam.

Of course when you call them they tell you that a technician will get back with you as soon as they resolve the issue. Unfortunately no one calls back. They were great for 24 months. Now they are terrible. Speeds dropped by 80%. Now at AOL speeds from year 1997. I would highly recommend that you avoid this company as their service is horrible and their tech support can’t do anything, as they play the tier 1, 2, 3 game with zero results. Must avoid company for consumer business. Rating of zero by all categories.

I had a terrible experience with the customer service side of this company. I was on hold for 42 min to get hung up on!! Went to live chat and waited 36 min to get no response!!!!! Called again and waited 35 min to get no response. The have been getting a check in the mail and taking a charge out on a card!!! Double paying and no customer service!!! Do not use these guys!!!!

Instead of $59.99 Moth for the bundle with direct I get 2 bill for $100 each and after hours and hours on hold and being promised to be called back, nothing is resolved. They keep Kayla telling me I need to contact DirecTV and when I do they say contact rise rise yesterday tell me there’s absolutely nothing they can do. I’ve had service for three weeks with them it has only worked one of the three weeks

Very poor customer service. Misled, misinformed, and lied to. Also, their rates kept going up. Expected after the promotional period, but they kept still going up. No explanation when I would call. They said, is was because my promotional period ended, but why multiple increases. My daughter's was even worse. My monthly payment went up to 62/mo. My daughter's went up to 81/mo. Same service yet very different rates. We have both canceled and would highly recommend not to use Rise Broadband.

Rise has good customer support, but they have terrible upper management. They are a greedy company never concerned for current customers. They will put so many customers on a tower that it will no longer work and then they say OHHHHHHHHHHHHH lets put you on a different tower. Then you play the circle of hell with them until they threaten to start charging you for service calls. I use the internet to earn a living for my family and I wish there was a company with good internet and integrity. If I had 5.00 for every time my internet quit working with Rise I would not need to work.

If you live in the Carbondale, CO area, DO NOT bother signing up for this service, as it's completely unreliable. Their tower on the mountain is down - again - and when it goes down, it's literally no service for an unknown and lengthy time. This happened from about mid Feb 17 to almost April 17...literally out. The best they could offer me was a $10/month rebate for the following 6 months . Now it's out again and they have no idea when it will be back up. I am cancelling and going with Hughesnet, which claims to have 5G now. Or it's back to CenturyLink's DSL.

Worst flipping internet ever they charge my family $76 a month for 10mb connection and then I go by speed test.net and they say you get 10mb/s. WAIT A SECOND THAT DOESN'T MEAN SOME PROGRAM DOESN'T SUPPORT THAT SPEED CAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY TOLD ME WHEN I GET ON ALL BY MYSELF I GET 1MB/S. Say when my brother my father and I get on we each get around 300kb/s and I'm like huh call the guy up to see how to fix it he doesn't know even though he was a nice guy.

Cancelled my service and they gave me 30 days to pay termination agreement of $250. No problem with that however I paid on the 31st day and they turned me over to collections. I paid in full and asked when they would remove the satellite dish. After multiple calls to customer service they picked up the dish 5 months later. They only removed the dish. They left the mounting base and coaix cable as well the conduit that the dish mounts to.

Worst Internet provider I have ever had. I have had their service for over a year, and have yet to have internet access for over two weeks without internet going down. Several times no service for over a week. Same answer every time I call, engineers are aware of the problem. And ask subscribers to be patient. My patient has run out. BBB IS MY NEXT CALL.

This was the absolute poorest service I have ever had. company switched names and put me into a 2 year contract without my approval. They also added a service contract without my approval. We asked for voice recording of me saying that I would accept the terms and conditions they could and would not provide it to me. Be of these practices, i also filed a BBB claim on them.

Don't use this company. They're a scam. I use xfinity but somehow they got my account information and stole 50 bucks from me. Absolutely terrible customer service. Had to continually follow up to get answers. Even though I don't have an account, they charged my credit card and told me the informant they charged is "proprietary". If you're going to steal my money you should tell me what I an freaking paying for! Absolutely crooked company.
