We enjoyed very reliable internet access. A couple of times we had to call for estimated times of service turning back on after storms or high-winds. Customer service was always very helpful though not very quick to answer calls. Sometimes I stayed on a hold over an hour.

Centurylink internet has been a reliable source for our streaming and educational functions. Even during bad weather, the service still is consistent. The price is also fair.

I had CenturyLink in a few of my residences out in rural or outer urban areas due to lack of options, and they truly acted as if they were the only option in town. They had options for lower speeds than I'd expect at the time, the pricing was higher than competitors better options, and their support was more limited (if I lost internet it was always for at least 6 hours, usually 12). It's definitely better than dial up or DSL, but that's the best I can say.

My experience with CenturyLink is ancient. It was probably 12-15 years ago. For me, it was a nightmare. I had it for myself and my grandchildren. The billing was always (every month I had to call) messed up. Between dates and costs, they couldn’t keep it straight. And it would be disconnected ( service address mix-up?) every time. I’d pay a reconnect fee, later to be refunded. It was a nightmare.

Great staff who provide excellent customer service. But the Internet Service (Fiber Wiring) is very unreliable in my newly built home. The service has gone out at least 2-3 times per month. A technician has to come out to fix it. It is very disrupting to my business and lifestyle.

My phone services at CenturyLink are great but my internet services are terrible. I am supposed to be high speed internet, but the internet is so slow that I can't even stream netflix let alone download things quickly. I live in a rural community and where my house is located does impact it some, but it goes out quite often, sometimes for a few days and it is very frustrating.

I used century link for years and I never had any major issues with it. The internet speed is fast for the price you pay, and they're pretty good at getting back to you if you do have any issues.

I have had ups and downs with CenturyLink. They are slow to get service started usually from my experience, other providers can typically turn on same day. However I also had some connection and speed issues with CenturyLink. I will say it is heavily dependent on the area you live in. Be sure to ask around and see what your neighbors, family, and friends use in your area.

Century Link took over the Embarq company we had been using. While with Embarq we had very few problems. When Century Link took over we had issue after issue. It took me 3 months to have them come out. When they finally did they learned a local radio station was “ washing out” their signal and they had to install a “ booster box”. Even after, the service was mediocre.

The prices are lower than most companies for internet. Century Link offers fast speeds. There are times when the internet goes out at our home, which is frustrated. At one particular time when it was going on often, they replaced the modem without question.

Century Link is a good, reliable, internet service. Their speeds are fast and I used them when I lived in Las Vegas and I loved it. It isn't as available now where I live, but I wish I could have it again and will keep checking to see when it is available in my area.

Switched to Century link from xfinity for costs savings, the experience to move was a bit cumber-sum, as their TV package came with another company, and that transition was clunky, you have to deal with them if there's any issues with programming, and they didnt provide the same service as Century link..

Centurylink was mediocre when we had it. They simply don’t have the speed we need for our business and family usage. Also, the internet would slow down significantly each night when we needed it most for homework. However, when I call to cancel, their customer service was great. They didn’t make me feel guilty or pressure me into staying. I think they understood that their speeds were slow. I know they have made efforts to improve their speed, but they still seem to be two steps beind the competition.

Charlottesville. I have Fiber optic service with advertised 1 gbyte speed. From the beginning I have had intermittent daily outages and speeds varying from 8 to 25 mb. Can’t watch a streamed 1/2 hour broadcast without freezing up or shutting down. Had technicians come out, sometimes not showing up at all without notice but then showing up unannounced a different day. Horribly undependable service. Online technical help can’t fix the problem either. I’m giving up after enduring this for over a year.

Century Link is the worst company we've ever had to deal with! I can't believe you are still in business. A phonecall with you is a minimum of one hour, no body knows how or what to do. We've had no working home phone for almost a month. TWO repair appts have been set up in the last seven days, BOTH were no-shows. They didn't try to contact us at all on both days. Horrible customer service!!!

Horrible customer service, horrible internet speed for the money. Constant internet outages (several times daily for months now). Horrible service techs that have been out 5 times in the last 6 months with an 8 hour arrival window!!! 8 hours is ridiculous. I have to take the entire day off work for. Each tech gives us a new modem and says something is wrong that is different from what the previous techs have said. Use someone else, literally anyone else!

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Century Link is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I just moved to a new apartment and have been on and off with customer care for WEEKS. None of them can seem to help identify why my internet is not working and are very belittling when I explain my situation. Their answer is always "call customer care" to which I wait on hold for at minimum 30 minutes with no answer. I recommend this provider to NO ONE and wish I could use xfinity at my new location. Sincerely, a very upset customer.

Why doesn't Centurylink care? Land line phone has been dead for four days now. They don't consider land line dial tone essential and after hours on the phone and internet chat, they gave me a 3 day appointment 8:45am to 5 pm Weds. Then they were a no show. Tried to reschedule and they were a no show again. hours on chat with bots. No human to talk with and no service. I may never hear land line dial tone again because they are the only game in town.

This is a nightmare. 4 months with lines that don't work... wi-fi use 25% of the time. Stay away from century link terrible company who constantly moves dates and doesn’t care about the customers only want your money and try to rope u in with “deals” when it reality the deal last maybe a month. Concur with the even trying to get a problem fixed, they push you to their Virtual assistant, who get hung up, does nothing. Been on the phone now for 1 hour 47 minutes just to get my dead modem replaced. Only find out tech sent my modem to my billing address in Texas and not the service address in LA as I explained to them then when I started asking for tracking number and SR# for the replacement I got hung up on....

CenturyLink is the only provider available for our apartment complex. Service and support are terrible! They still use a model of requiring a customer to be home for an entire day with zero notification about when a technician may be available to install WiFi. The first time a tech was scheduled, no one called or showed up. The second time, there was no notification to specify an arrival time window. I would definitely choose a more reliable service provider if the option was available.

Absolute worst service ever. I lose service about three times every year for approximately 2 weeks. I live in a rural area and the line is supposed to be buried but is not so every time they mow the ditch they cut the line. The century repair people have told me themselves that century link Refuses to repair it properly. Each time they say I will receive a credit and I never do. They have no customer service because the people you call are all over seas and have no control. I spend hours on the phone to no avail. I would not ever use this company were it not my only choice.

Awful i have had to call 3 times. First time they argued with me and said they dont cover my house when the previous owners have centry link. Then the second person set me up for internet told me it would be set up in a week. I call to confirm my order make sure everything was correct and he set it for over a month out and i have online school. They cant do anything about it. And their internet is slow anyways you can barely load anything they are behind the game by other companies i would not choose them if i had a choice at all.

Just the worst service provider in Portland, OR. Three weeks without internet after I took the time to place a new order with them. After 10+ hours of hold time on calls, chats with their reps I finally gave up and cancelled. The first order I placed, they sent the tech to a different city & state. Next time they got the street address wrong. BOth orders were done through chat, all they needed to do was copy/paste the address and phone number. However bad you think Xfinity is, believe me Centurylink is worse. A simple new connection request was totally mishandled by their reps.

HANDS DOWN the worst internet and customer service ever created! Do not even attempt to chat online to an agent it's the worse! I had two techs come out to repair my service only for both techs to ask me why am I even with century link our service SUCKS! Sir you have the option to get Xfinity! Two techs in one week 16 chat calls and now a new appointment coming up as well a week later which will make two weeks without internet, I will take their advice and I have scheduled my new service with Xfinity! Century link just throw the whole service away!

Moved into a new place that previously had the 940 plan. They cancelled their plan 2 weeks ago. We had a tech scheduled to come out today and were called day of and told they can't offer us internet due to demand. After calling and getting hung up on several times by staff, I was offered 100 up and 100 down FOR THE SAME PRICE. Not to mention it was listed cheaper online but the rep "couldn't get that price in his system." Total scam. We have the fiber optic cable and they are artificially throttling it to upcharge people. Glad I took the day off work to spend it talking to idiot scam artists.

The absolute WORST internet provider I've ever had. In just a little over 2yrs, we've had internet outages for a day to days around 20 times. We've had to have service technicians out to our home roughly 8 times out of those. The service will be restored and will go about a month or 3 and then boom.....another outage. This company is a complete joke. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your service. I promise i'm saving you headaches .

After billing me for one year at an account that was told to be terminated Centurylink owes me $480. I was told that the amount was approved and a check would be sent in the mail. After calling to find out the check status after not receiving it, I went through a gantlet of calls to arrive at a supervisor that said that I will not get the money. I have recordings of all conversations. I would not recommend CenturyLink to anyone. There is a reason why they have faced class-action lawsuits. I just filed a FCC complaint.

This company sold me a service for business only to find out that it was a prepaid type of garbage. The internet was like a slug and couldn't operate my high speed system. I cancelled immediately and got a real business service through Xfinity. I was never given my money back, and they did not disconnect the service. Now I have been billed and they're saying they don't know how to disconnect my service! I asked for my card to be removed from the account and they say they can't remove it. As we speak waiting time over the phone is 45 minutes or longer. Chat is not available ( although it has dead link!!). Unfortunately they have a monopoly in town, otherwise I found stay with them even for an hour. I would be willing to pay TWICE as much but NOT to them, ANYBODY else. There are no saving graces beyond when it works it's fast. That's it. You'll be down 3-5 times per month for anywhere from an hour to a day. And whatever you pay per month, write off that amount from your account balance. When you cancel they do not prorate. You'll pay another month after your service has stopped. I haven't used their internet since March 28, and I've paid them twice since then. The person in customer service had no interest in explaining anything to me and practically hung up on me. Use ANY other provider in your area. I promise they're better.
