Century Link is a very basic internet service in our area. Their cost are very competitive, but it would be nice to have better service to go with the price.
The speeds were not very fast and they seem to always try and increase your rates. They automatically included things into my bundle that I didn’t ask for and didn’t want.

I Just switched over and though I cannot get highspeed in my area it is the first rural provider that has offered consistent speed at a decent price. Worst internet provider ever. Constantly had internet outages sometimes for a few days. Told them when we were moving to cancel our service and they never did. Then tried billing us for a house we no longer owned in a state we didnt live in. Then while trying to fix it they were trying to say we didnt as everything is time stamped yet we did in November. Took a supervisor and his supervisor to fix the situation about an hr later after being on hold for 30 mins.

Century Link is a despicable company right along with Sedgwick, the administrator of their property plan division. This company had a low hanging cabe attached to my house stretching to a telephone pole that was falling over. The city would not repair the pole. The cable fell on my RV and damaged my rig to the amount of 4k. Century link, 8 months later continues to refuse to respond to my property claim. WA ATG won't follow through on the consumer report and I nw have significant loss with an rv with no internet or operating rv due to damage and a custom paint job that is also damages.
They have too many accountants dreaming up ways and fees to charge people. You can ALWAYS count on your bill to be twice as whatever the price they are advertising. The customer service will be provided by people who are so ignorant of the company they will only tell you how your bill is made from pages of the Bible and you must worship it.
Slow and what seems to be throttled internet speeds if it's working at all. Forget someone coming out to do repairs on they're own equipment, they always try to troubleshoot on the phone and make it out to be a problem in your household. Customer service is non existent, you will be talking to someone in a foreign country and keep getting transferred and put on hold only to have nothing resolved.
Century link had good products but way overpriced. Unfortunately they did not provide Internet to our rural area.
Honestly this is the only internet we can get where we live. And we are always coming. I wish I could say something nice about it but it usually doesn’t run more than two TVs at a time. With all the smart technology now kind of seems like a waste to even say we have it

It is very difficult to review something that does not exist. I am speaking of customer service. On six different occasions I called customer service. I was put on hold once for 43 min once for 38 min once for 26 min another time for 24 min. I had already gone through the loop of answering the multiple security questions. I requested a supervisor and was notified none were available. On one occasion I again requested to speak to a supervisor and was told he would not come to the phone until I told them what is was about. I had already told six different people before what it was about. They have accidentally (or on purpose I am not sure) hung up on me and NEVER called back. And here I thought they were a phone company. I have tried to chat online and been told that the online chat will not allow anyone to call back. Meanwhile my phone issue continues. If at all possible chose another company for your provider. Here is a final insult to this Centurystink problem. I got an email answer saying they want payment for service I was not given. “Please call this number”. With the SAME stupid customer service number I have had all the problems with. It would not even let me respond to their Email because it was a ONE WAY only email. PLEASE FOR YOUR SAKE try xfinity.
I live in the country, four miles from town. CenturyLink is BAD as a internet provider. If I could have given it a half star I would have. The most Signal we can get is 3 Mbps download and 0.55 Mbps upload. That’s it, if it rains, snows or looks like it might be bad weather, every thing falls OFF! Calling Customer Service is a Joke. How many times do I have to speak to someone in the Philippines! We need a NEW Fiber Optic cable. We are running off of a telephone line that must be over 50 or more years old. The way CenturyLink fix’s any service call is to change pairs in the phone box near the road. The line is bad, changing pairs isn’t making it and never will without updates to their system!

Rates are reasonable, speed is nearly 20Mbps, service is pretty reliable.
Poor Experience. If you have a choice (which we didn't!), choose wisely. Customer service terrible trying to get bundled services discontinued. Delay after delay transfers to different departments. The internet performance is marginal at best. My best suggestion is to get your internet elsewhere.

We had a bit of trouble with service in our home and ran a bit of a slower speed than we need for work purposes so had to make a change.
"You don't need to worry about pricing increases, an early termination fee, or rate changes." You need to update this. Even with the "Price for Life" plan if you decide to cancel your service in the middle of your service cycle (which is different than your billing cycle dates btw), you will still be charged for an entire month of service and charged early termination fees. Even if you are just moving, which they claim is easy to do, if it's in the middle of your service cycle you will get charged fees and pay for a whole month . They treat moving as if you are closing your account and opening up a whole new one. They won't tell you this up front, but that is what ends up happening. Oh, and when you finally decide you've had enough of their incredibly slow speeds and non stop fees that you have to battle, you'll have to go through multiple attempts to figure out what to do with your modem. I was told I had 30 days to return my modem (because you have to use their terrible modem, they refuse to configure any modems now, so tack on $10 more a month to every plan) and that I'd receive an email with instructions. Well 4 days later and I've received nothing. I call again and I'm told that I have to print my own label, put it in a box that I have to provide, and bring it to a UPS store. I explain that I do not have a printer and I live rural, there isn't a UPS store for nearly 50 miles. Their answer? I should just find a library to pay to print it at, and that it wasn't their problem that I don't have a UPS store near me.
CenturyLink is fast and easy to communicate with internet service. The billing was easy and with multiple people, we never had an issue with streaming.
They are very good (thank goodness) as they were the only internet company available when we moved into our office building

Closed my Centurylink account in August. It's the END OF NOVEMBER and I still have not gotten the refund they owe me of $86. Imagine if YOU didn't pay Centurylink for three months. Unfortunately, before that, it was BAD and unreliable internet service. Centurylink is an awful company, unreliable, untrustworthy. Their executives deserve to be in jail, not on the golf course.
I LOVE that they offer 1G internet in my area and it is the same price as other competitors standard speeds (100-150Mbps). I am able to get much better internet for the same price? That's an easy choice. The only thing I don't really care for is that the service isn't always reliable. Overall, I have no issues connecting to the internet and getting decent download and upload speeds, but, more often than not, I am only pulling a fraction of what I should be. For example, on a normal day, I pull around 300Mbps Download. It's not bad, but it's definitely not nearly as good as it should be. I would still highly recommend them, though. No other provider can beat them in my area.
For one thing, the different stages of internet they have is a lil weired. Some are inexpensive and some are more. I got the best one but sometimes threw out the day it has issues. I wish these bugs were fixed do I don't have a delay on my things im doing.

Honestly have no had a good experience. They havent upgraded our service in over 20 years, and we still receive rates of 1mb/s MAX. When asked if they will be upgrading units, weve received several responses with "soon." They could improve by updating their service, and providing atleast some decent customer support

I had scheduled for new service to be installed in my home today between 1:00 pm and 5:00pm. I took a half day off of work to make sure I was here to ensure the install could be completed smoothly. I received a voicemail at 2:23pm today saying there was an issue and the installation couldn't be completed and to call them for more information. I called thinking stuff happens and something must have happened unexpectedly with the install prior to mine and maybe I was being pushed back a day. NOPE, They called to tell me there was in issue with their system on the day I made the appointment and that the payment couldn't be completed. Why it took them until an hour and a half into my install window to figure this out and let me know nobody was coming I don't know. As I said earlier I took the time off work for this and this is how they treat a potential customer. When the lady said it's no problem she can take the payment now and we can schedule another appointment I told her exactly the situation and she simply said "I am sorry but if we can take your payment we can reschedule" again. At that point I just told her no thanks and I will be sticking with comcast. At least they had the decency to show up on time to our appointment. I will recommend to everyone I know against using this company...
Had Centurylink internet for the past 6 years. Experienced pretty good service and price was good, assuming you contacted them each year and got the discounts they were offering.
CL was ok, their speeds were inferior for our day and age but their stuff worked so I guess it was ok.
When I started working from home the internet speed was not fast enough but it was great for everything else. I would use them again.
Horrible customer service. They will never call you back and update you. They will cancel work orders with out notice. Took me 3 hours to get through to a manager and he couldn't direct me to someone with answers and wouldn't give me a direct number to follow up about my issues. told me I would have to start the whole process and no one would follow up with me about my concerns or issues with my phone line.
We've used century link for about years now and it's been working fine. Sometimes though, there are of few annoying times where it doesn't work. CenturyLink is a good way to go!

I had century link for several years and service was always irregular. Sometimes it worked great, other times it was slow and there were times it wouldn’t work at all.
We didn't care for CenturyLink in our area for internet service. It was slow without options to be faster and went down too much for us. I had to switch away. I am sure they are better in some areas than others, but it didn't work very well for us.
