very bad experience so far. bought 5 years policy few months ago and i needed a service first time 4 days ago when my garbage disposal broke. i have not been able to get hold of anyone since then. Tried calling Richard Z, the guy who sold me the policy many times and he kept putting me on indefinite holds. Very very frustrating experience so far. no body calls back or take any responsibility. thinking of cancelling the policy now.

SHW is the worse! They did not deliver as promised. I would not recommend this company. I had an open claim for 6 months (COVID became a priority) and they decided it cannot be fixed so stated that they are going to send me $150 and I will have to buy a new oven. All they asked for was photo and the serial number and made that decision. The tech that came out I believe over exaggerated the issue because the top oven did the same thing...the thermostat was blown. Regardless, DO NOT do business with SHW. I regret that I did! What a waste of time and money!

First claim denied this company in my opinion is a scam they sell you on how everything is covered when in reality it is not. They go out of their way to not pay la claim. I wanted to use my own Tech (that didn't sit well with them) even though they tell you when you sign up that it fine to use your Tech. Sent them the estimate for the water heater and trhen they told me it wasent covered because it had aleak, well it cannot leak if it is not cracked and the tank is a component of the water heater. Don't go there look for adifferent company

Horrible experience with this company. They do not care about your concerns or have answers to questions when they sucker you in to buying a policy. Lots of out of pocket expenses that they do not tell you. Lacks knowledge of policy coverage, professionalism and courtesy. You are transferred to an endless loop and no one answers your call. Buyer beware!

HORRIBLE COVERAGE, purchase in 2019, 6 months later had a furnace motor burn out in freezing weather, and they denied the claim. Only coverage is for Wear and Tear, but ONLY IF you have it serviced and can prove it. You can't know it's wearing out until it breaks, once it breaks claim denied. Also, no service contractor would accept their work, they are known in the industry as very poor pay to the contractor. I called to cancel and they built in cancellation fees so you would pay them an ADDITIONAL amount to cancel. Do NOT Purchase from them. Jen H May 20, 2020

I'd give this a lower rating if I could. Submitted a claim for my A/C to get fixed, they emailed me 2 days later and told me the soonest they could have someone in my area is 4 weeks. My other option is to pay for it myself and MAYBE get a reimbursement in 6 weeks if they decide the work is covered. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT waste your money on this company. They basically stole 42$ a month from me since I'm going to end up paying for my own repairs anyway

I would not give this company any stars if possible. I wish I read the reviews up front everything I had fixed cost me extra out of pocket nothing was just the $45.00 I was supposed to pay when something broke. They say to use your own technician and pay $150.00 on a $600.00 repair. I would sue for breach of contract if possible there must be better companies out there stay away from this one … you have been warned!

I'd give them a 0 if allowed. A/C went out. Called select and technician out next day. Reversing switch on heat pump broke and all Freon leaked out. Took 6 days for them to deny claim. Their tech, following their procedures and no coverage. Cost is $1600 to repair. Elderly with health issues in SW Florida. waited 6 days in 90+ degree temps. They kept blaming the tech for delays, rude customer service and management. Total waste of money, Stay away.

I had Select Home Warranty for a year and, for that year, they never honored the contract once. Three requests for service were flat out ignored. I was told to find my own repair service by them with the promise they would reimburse me for the expense. Guess what happened next? Select Home Warranty was a complete waste of money and I encourage everyone who reads this to take your business elsewhere. Once they have your money, they just don't care.

I’m in a issue currently concerning my washing machine. I have an estimate for repair of $875.00. Select, is offering to pay a total of $185. They stated that the washer is to old. Be caution, if anything you have is older than 5 years , this may happen to you. I changed from AHS, bad move, they replaced my 11 year old A/C unit and my refrigerator, it cost me $75 per unit. Problem with tankless water heater, didn't cover a dime of the replacement cost. 2 year old wash machine (Samsung) control board went out. 425 dollars to replace the board. All they say they are going to pay is 230 dollars. People if your looking to purchase a home warranty by all means, DO NOT purchase from Select Home Warranty. The DO NOT do what they say they will.

I had a leak in the wall and they refused to cover the repairs and that was after months of arguing with them. They first assigned a contractor to me but they never contacted me so I asked for another contractor to be assigned to me. I finally gave up on the warranty company and I got a long time friend to do the repairs. He did a real nice job and I ended up having to pay $600+ for it. If I could do it I would give Select Home a "0" star rating!!!

I purchased a warranty for 3 years and paid in full. My A/C blower went out & they ask for history service report and I provide them with 2018-2020 (3yrs) and now they’re sayin they cannot use 2020 records because it’s still 2020 !!! EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS NO FROM THIS WARRANTY COMPANY!!! Every time it’s always no when I try to use my warranty and I DON’T RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE TO USED THIS COMPANY!!! They’re the WORSE that I’ve ever dealt with in my life... I live in FLORIDA And you need A/C!! Not to mention I’ve had 2 MAJOR surgeries in 2 months and I need to have A/C working...

I had a gas burner problem on my stove. It has been since April of 2019. They sent out several different tech who knew nothing in fact the last one mess up the burners. I had ask several times to speak to a managers they never would send me to one. I even had my lawyer request the rest of the money I had paid them! They never even knowledge the letter. We signed up online over a year ago and received no response that said it was received. So about 3 months later I signed up again. I they have been billing us for two accounts for a year. The first time I complained they didn't show that they were billing us twice. Last week the agent I talked to could see it. Then when we made our first claim they still had no idea of account # or anything. Refused to repair the stickers attached to our house. Most recent claim handled well.

Most claims resulted in hours of being misinformed or arguing over claims. The AC did go out and they sent someone who took my copay and never returned to fix the AC last July!! We went over a month with no AC in AZ during the hottest times. Upon hiring my own contractor, (my NormaL service provider)I was told I needed a new unit at @7,000. Even with given documentation I was not given back my stolen copay, paid the copay a second time, and was granted 200$ Despite evidence of regular maintenance records. This is only one of many issues I had with Select Home Warranty.

If I could give them a zero I would. We have had several claims all have been denied for repairs and offer you a replacement reimbursement have a minimal amount. Air-conditioning needed to be repaired they wanted three years of maintenance receipts on a home that we only owned for over a year. A $600 repair they’re going to offer me the maximum of $150 to repair something that is covered under the warranty. Stay away from them do not buy this warranty from this company. Not to mention you never get anyone who speaks English!!!

This is terrible company and I cancelled my coverage after my first claim. My HVAC system wasn't working and I just purchased a warranty through SHW 6 months prior. The person they sent said that since the unit was old it was not worth repairing it so he strongly recommended replacing the entire unit. He did so and I submitted the claim but it was denied. I immediately cancelled my coverage and sued SHW in small claims court. I won the case but they never paid and they currently have numerous outstanding judgments against them. Don't ever buy a warranty from this horrible company!

This place lied to get my business. The very first claim I filed I paid out of my pocket $200 because my plumber said my services weren’t covered. He completed the job and left and called me about 15 min later and said they covered it but they wouldn’t let him reimburse me. I had to file for reimbursement. I submitted it the same day. Now I am being told it will be at least 30 days before I get my money back. This is not fair. I could have been reimbursed the same day, instead I have to wait 30 days.

They denied my claim I put in on Feb 27 because they said that I said the problem started on Feb 7 2020 and that before the 30 day coverage started. I didn't report it till Feb 27 2020. Very disappointed in their service I had to wait 6-7 weeks before I even had anyone come out, they had to send a second repairman out. Poor service on Select Warranty's part. I cancelled my warranty

They are nothing but a scam company. They find excuses not to cover repairs or replacement. Even tho I had coverage on ductwork(Heating & air) they said they wouldn't cover it due to corrosion. When ductwork is 22 years old what else could go wrong other than corrosion or rust. Bottom line is they don't really cover ductwork. They also refused to cover my hot water heater because it was leaking water. Do not do business with this company, put your money in a bank account instead.

Worst home warranty ever! If I could give 0 stars, I would. They wouldn't cover repairs to my pool pump (which I pay extra for) because it had sun damage. I live in freaking Arizona! It took them a month to find someone to repair my diswasher; they kept contacting companies that don't service my area. And it took them nearly 2 months to reimburse me the cost of a garbage disposal. Their customer service is horrible. Don't waste your money!!

It all starts with the representative who sells you the warranty and then it becomes a scam after that!! After having the policy for 9 months I called in a service for my ceiling fan and electric breaker. Long story short after they told me to call a certified electrician myself, they have not reimbursed me after 7 days so far and they give me the run around. The bill is only for $275!!!!! Really!!! They are great until you have to call them.

House plumbing was clogged. They sent over an UNLICENSED man who said company denied claim because of improper dishwasher installation, but he could fix the issues personally if we pay him hundreds of dollars in cash. We did this, but all he did was reinstall the pipes under the sink so they were upside down and cause major water spill in kitchen. He left and never would return to fix this. Had to hire a real plumber to undo his incompetence. Customer service was no help at all. Just wasted hours of my time talking to call center who never followed through, or hung up on me.

SHW is a total scam, be careful when you sign up for coverage only a prorated amount will be reimbursed. So if your item is a few years old they rather pay you an amount that they tell you instead of repairing it. And that amount is ridiculous. Also, you will pay $75 cancellation fee plus all expenses you have used by them. Dont do it... soooo not worth it
