This was the worst experience ever! This company operates like a scam, solely focused on getting your money without providing any real service. From the moment you sign the contract, it feels like it's rigged against you. To summarize, we experienced an HVAC failure, and they didn’t send a technician for a week. After ten days, they rejected our claim, stating that electrical failures are excluded from the warranty. As a result, we ended up paying an annual warranty fee, two technician fees, and all repair costs out of our own pockets.

The worst home warranty ever! Don’t waste your money. I have been having different home warranty companies. Select home warranty is the worst one I had! I had to replace a breaker, which is absolutely covered, they made me to pay for the labor plus the service fee. I had a plumbing issue which was denied all together. With the other companies, I just paid the service fee. They are absolutely worthless, the customer service is in Philippine and is very hard to understand . Horrible experience.

Select home warranty is by far the WORST home warranty company to deal with. Their primary purpose of existence is deny your claim. I have had several claims with them over the years and 1 of of 8 claims got resolved, they never cover A/C claims. They have the nerve to request 3 years of maintenance history for the A/C. If you're thinking about signing up with select, run the other direction.

Poor communication. Slow on response times. Will not listen to reason when discussing an issue. Had an AC leak (I know that leaks are not covered). They stated it was a condensation leak immediately without sending out a technician to diagnose even though the leak was coming from inside the main unit and not the condenser coils. All I wanted was a tech to diagnose the issue and if it was a condensation leak I would pay. They would not even send out a technician.

Worst home warranty ever. It’s a scam and they keep updating their fine prints with exclusions based on where they spend the most. The only intention of Select Home Warranty is to steal your money and not provide support. When you need them the most they leave you hanging. They left my babies in a 95 degree house for 96hrs. If you have some money to burn then go with Select Home Warranty, otherwise, stay far far far away from this company. They are shameless when it comes to ripping customers off with frivolous charges. God forbids if you decide to cancel your policy, they charge you full price for every service visit. You end up getting a small fraction of your money back, maybe!

Wish there was a half star to choose. One of the worst insurance companies to work with for appliances insurance. The sales agents are very convincing to sell the insurance but when you have any issues there’s no one to help. I had an A/c repair and they gave me a very tough time. When I was frustrated and wanted to cancel the insurance, that process took even longer and painful. They deducted a huge chunk of my payment and the manager was of no use either. On the whole will not recommend them.

Select home warranty put words in my mouth when filing a water heater claim. They said I said it was leaking which I did not say. I had to get my own plumber to say it was not leaking. Then Select said it had a gas leak. Again I had my own plumber say it was not leaking gas. Then they try and say the 30 days wasn’t up to cover the water heater. I join Select Home Warranty January 10, 2024. It is now March 19th 2024 and the 30 days is pasted and they refused to comply with the contract, put words in my mouth and circumvents the contract.

Classic case of what happens if you don't read the fine print. They don't tell you during the sales pitch that after a certain age, Select depreciates the item and will only pay a small percentage. Learned this the hard way after the CSR told me and to go ahead with the repair only to find out they wouldn't reimburse me because it was too expensive for a repair. After deducting the service call, they only gave me 10% of what I paid.

Unfortunately we were scammed by this company also in Oct. 2021 ( 125 service fee). We pd 2279 upfront only to have every claim denied with fly by night companies coming in with the exception of a septic claim we pd up front, whilst my husband dug and covered trench from house to septic and we waited a yr for 400 refund… my last at with them ended up with me going to BBB and asking for refund cancellation, to which they told me they owed me 4.26 so I might as well finish my contract through 2027… of course with them Denying claims!! Disgusting company

Filed my first claim after a year of paying the premium. Have been without hot water for 4 days and still no Service Technician. The first company they "supposedly sent out" NEVER showed. Called and complained about their service and they said that someone would be out today to evaluate the situation......No show and No call back info. Called for the 2nd time and they stated that they will look into it tomorrow during normal business hours. Will be dropping this warranty company because as soon as my claim is closed. Terrible to work with!!!!

SHW sent a sketchy individual to my home. He didn’t diagnose the issue and upon arrival, before even seeing my well, he said the entire pump needed to be replaced. He demanded cash out Zelle for payment and quit answering my calls once paid. SHW didn’t offer any assistance with resolving the issue. Instead, they supported the repairman. I had my own well person diagnose the issue and the well (which is new) doesn’t need replacing. The quote was less than half of what the SHW guy asked for. 2 weeks later no repairs. Don’t waste your money on their policy. Service is non existent

When choosing a provider go with one that covers loss of Freon! This is a symptom of system failure, yes my plan doesn’t cover Freon leaks and since my system is too old to repair, I just replaced the entire system with no help from this company. Yo make matters worse, they “forgot” to let me know they’d rejected my claim. It seems when you have become a liability to them by filing claims, their customer service goes out the window. CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY.

They don't honor there mistake and give you the run around and try not to give you your money back even when they violated the policy. A home warranty is worth having when you pay and they honor what was paid into and employees are honest and they takecare of there clients.

We located one immediately, had them repair the furnace. They called back three days later to tell us to get it fixed and send them the bill. It's been months of phone calls and emails without payment. The government needs to investigate this crooked company. DO NOT BUY THEIR PLANS!

Last fall I ordered a home warranty from Select Home Warranty. The representative indicated it covered the furnace. Not part of the furnace, but the furnace. I paid the money and did not receive further information. A few weeks ago I noticed condensation coming from my furnace. I called and asked them to send information on my policy, and filed a claim. It was immediately denied. They did not even come out, just denied it. Not only that, they were extremely rude. I have had home warranties from other companies and I would definitely not recommend this company.

If I could score less than 1 star, I would. They tell you all of these appliances are covered, but also have every clause that overrides any coverage that you think you have. If your appliance is depreciated (which all appliances are), you will only receive the depreciated value toward a repair or replacement, which obviously won't ever cover the cost of a replacement, and rarely the cost of repair. Don't get fooled by the "We'll repair or replace your covered appliance" lip service.

Home select warranty is an extremely shady company. First of their call center is in a foreign country the people who take your calls can’t understand you nor can you understand them. It takes days to get a technician to come fix the problem and then home select either refuses to pay or what they pay is almost nothing. Stay away from these shady folks!!!

The only thing i liked was how fast they sign you on. However, i am very disappointed with the service. Please do you homework, you are promised a lot but they are lacking in fulfillment. There are a lot of things that disqualifies you from being able to qualify. Also, service calls take days. It took so long for them to show up i cancelled the call and called a plumber myself. I could not wait 4 days for a plumber. If you have an emergency forget it, you are toast. We went to "Liberty Home Guard". Wow! They really stand by their word. We are very happy. I will give zero stars if I can. very slow response. I sent a mail for a claim Thursday morning and don't get any response till Friday night while they commit 24 hrs feedback. This has happened for the last two weeks since my cloth washer broke. It takes days and days to delay and finally after 10 days of endless calls, they told me I can get $250 cash settlements. I am disappointed that it takes 10 days for my case. Even if you keep calling them, nothing helps. Also, the cash settlement is not enough to replace a washer. (not as they advertised at all). Please avoid this company.

This company sucks and ranks near a scam. I placed my first claim, a ceiling fan. Since I am 70 years old, I can inspect the ceiling fan why it isn't turning on. So I figured, I'll pay the $75 service call, probably a quick fix. No, Select decides not worth coming out and offers me $45 less deductible (which adds up to NOTHING). $700 year coverage and they can't fix a $100 problem.

We are not happy with the lack of service. After a year on the agreement, we called SHW to cancel. Per their agreement we are entitled to a refund on the balance remaining on the agreement ($564.00). We have been trying for over a year to get our refund. Our claim has been escalated to a higher person in the company. They keep lying to us, in every way. Absolutely horrible experiences with them. Nickel and dime you. Tried to get parts cheaper than the tech had on hand, which resulted in a delay in getting my AC fixed in Florida in July. Had a plumbing issue and they claimed they couldn’t find a technician. Asked me to find one myself and they would reimburse some of it. Customer service seems overseas and they read off a script. Can’t get a supervisor. The worst. I had American home shield in the past and they were 1000 times better.

Horrible procedure to file claim. They want the brand, the model #, and the serial before processing the claim. After that, it takes weeks to contract somebody to fix the problem. If the dispatch CAN'T find anybody, they just leave it at that. I have to call back to find out that I have to hire somebody for repair. On top of that, they will find any possible reasons NOT to reimburse your claim. Basically, you are buying a warranty program THAT is not going to pay you back if anything is broken.

My refrigerator is 4 years old and it quit I contacted them and was told to try and get my own repair person and they would rein-verse my fees. I cant afford almost 1000.000 for a new compressor. We have talked every other day for over a month now and they offered me 500.00. I have tried to get a superviser and they wont call back.I did not accept so they canceled my policy. Now Im without a refrigerator and I have children in the home. In my opinion its just a scam

This company is a fraud as others have stated. They don't warranty any of the major A/C Components. I had the Executive VIP membership and I got hit with a $4700 A/C bill at my house and this company DID NOT warranty any of the work. The wiggled around the terminology in the plan so they didn't have to pay. My service technician told me this company is a fraud and will never approve any service work more than $250. And he was right. Get your money back IF you can.

Total SCAM of a company. EVERY claim we submit for a repair is rejected and they offer us the "depreciated value" of the appliance. To fix our oven, the quote came in at $725. They paid us the depreciated value of $185. Same for our microwave. If your appliances are over 5 years old, you'll never get them repaired...you will only get a check for a tiny portion of the cost of the repair. SCAM artist.

This company is a TOTAL FRAUD. They are using all sort of SCAM to drag customer into agreement. The moment you agreed to pay them, you lost everything. We had this insurance for 16 months and when we filed 4 claims during that time (Appliance repair, Water heater issue, A plumbing leak and broken AC fan). They denied all 4 and every time we paid the contractor $65 to each every one of them. They caused us pain and grief. We paid them over 16 months a total of $1200 and they fixed nothing. THIS COMPANY IS A VERY BAD COMPANY. Stay away from them.

I am regretting making decision to go with this horrible company. I don't feel like we giving even one star. My AC unit had issues and we raised claim in early July and they been assigning different contractor but no one showing up or responding. We went through 3 such contractors in two months and we are still without AC in this heat. This company does not have good technician contracted.. STAY AWAY from this company. It is fraud.

Thank goodness I never had to file a claim. I am trying to cancel my policy because I sold my home and I'm not transferring to a new owner or buying another house. I've been on hold three times, disconnected twice. After 45 min someone answers. She says her supervisor has to call me back. Do not do business with this company. They take their time to resolve a claim and do not pay on a claim. My air conditioner died. Inspector said it could not be fixed. Select then wanted pictures of the old condenser. Two days later they want last 3yrs maintenance. (I maintain a/c myself). Small clause in contract says they require this before honoring contract. Now 3weeks later they will only pay $150 I replaced a/c at cost of $11,196. Tried to cancel contract and they want $75 to cancel! Do not do business with this privately owned company

Select home warranty refused to repair my ac unit stating that the electrical wasn't covered when it is clearly part of the service I was paying for. They sent multiple companies out to check the ac unit and although the serviceman didn't leave the unit how they found it select declared that my home wasn't properly maintained and simply refused to repair the unit. Select decided they weren't going to fix the unit and used every excuse not to do so. They are not worth the headache you'll having trying to get any assistance for repairs.

You will be pleased to know this insurance company doesn't even deserve one star. We have now been loyal customers to them for a little over 4 years. When we started out using this insurance company they seemed reliable and committed to the concerns of their patrons; however, within the last two years they have been unprofessional, slow with following up on our claims, and to be honest a waste of our time and money. I would not recommend them to anyone and I'm very displeased with the services they have provided.

I have been a loyal customer for many years, now that I need service my issue A/C compressor is only covered for less than 1/4 of cost.I am told I have low tier policy 'Platinum ' I didn't know Select had a better plan??? I'm out alot of money especially in this economy. I work very hard for my money and expect a company to stand behind their policy. I'm frustrated, angry and disappointed!!! Don't waste your money on this company!!!

It's too late for me, but please don't use this company. They will definitely bait-and-switch, and then if your Appliance cannot be fixed, they will give you a small amount saying it has depreciated to that amount and that is the resolution. They will let you think that they are sending your complaint to a different department. In all reality, it is probably the person sitting beside them.

If I can leave zero stars I would. Any one considering select home warranty STAY far away from this company. No customer service help, they just give you the go around when you need to submit a claim and will not replace appliances they just keep charging you $60 for service fee and keep sending a technician to temporary fix your problem. Look else where for home warranty. You will thank me and save future headaches.
