The repairman identified and fixed the problem within 10 minutes of arriving to my house for $65 service fee. A service man from a different company was at my house for 30 minutes to 1 hour, charged me $240 maintenance fee, and said I need to replace the furnace for $6,700.

I was without air conditioning for 2 days of 100+° temps, and recovering from surgery. I called CHW several times, and the CSR's were borderline rude. Once the technician was FINALLY assigned, he was at my house within a couple of hours and had my a/c back on and functioning well. So KUDOS and 5☆ to Justin with Birdnow Mechanical, and 1☆ to the CSR's at CHW. Previously, my water heater went out, and I had to have it replaced. The plumber CHW sent out submitted the information, but I ended up having to pay out of pocket for the new w/h.

They were untruthful in their response to a repair service. Rather than repair the refrigerator for a 3rd time (a design flaw with the refrigerator) I requested they just given the me cash for the repair appointment and parts to use against the cost of a new refrigerator. The manager I spoke with said it was against their policy to do so, and besides the appointment and parts had already been paid for. When talking to the repair company they said that was impossible as they hadn't event billed the insurance company. They had recommended that we replace the refrigerator due to the design issue. It is hard to trust a company that says they are the best, when in fact their team members can't event tell the truth.

We picked Choice because of their high ratings and extensive plan coverage. We have not had a home warranty before, but it was paid for when we purchased our home. Our AC broke on the first day it hit 110 degrees. We called Choice on Sunday and they responded. We learned that their service comany (Sears Home Services) could not come out till the following Friday. We felt that was too long to wait given the heat. Choice let us hire an HVAC company and they came out on Monday. The condenser fan motor was leaking fluid and seized up. The part had to be ordered from Trane because our unit was 34 yrs old, and no one had it in stock. It took a couple weeks gor the part to arrive. Meanwhile, Choice sent us a questionaire and wanted pictures of the AC unit and part. They also wanted the technicians pay rate and part cost. We quickly learned that this information is not shared by most HVAC companies, including the one we hired. We called several other HVAC companies to see if they would work with a warranty company and the answer was, "No". So this caused us some stress and the technician wanted to cancel the order. On the day the part came in and the technician was enroute, we received the approval to proceed. We were prepared to pay for the repair, because Choice was making it difficult. Then more pictures and questions needed to be submitted, and in about a month the claim was paid by Choice. We believe that our experience is probably typical with warranty companies. The fact that most HVAC companies wont work with them, really limits the homeowner. The Sears Home services in our area did not receive good ratings and we think they handle most calls for Choice. We were offerred a renewal rate that is the same price as the part that was replaced.

In the 6 years that I had your insurance, I've had a microwave handle replaced; some damaged sheet rock, from a roof leak, fixed; my stove's ignition system fixed, and a new pump put into my dishwasher. All were very much appreciated. Of course the insurance was $2100, and I paid out $45 each occurance. Your techs did a good job. I would suggest you give homeowner's receipts for the work completed. I had nothing to show a prospective buyer to prove repairs had been completed. Also appointments should be announced by texts on smart phones in addition to emails.

I like the price and peace of mind. The customer service & response time has been unsatisfactory on 3 claims— 1 on my microwave, 2 on the HVAC. They sent a repairman to fix my microwave 3 times then did not tell me it could not be repaired. I found out from the microwave repairman and then it took me another month to get the email voucher. Likewise, my heat went on my hvac last winter. Took a week to send someone. He had to order a part. Part arrived. Wrong part. Reordered. Broken part. It took 3 weeks to fix the heater. Fast forward to July heat wave (triple digits daily) in San Antonio. A/C goes out & it took 48 hours to get a repairman there. They could only give me an 8-hour window when someone might contact me but said I could call someone on my own. I spent 2 nights in a hotel & the guy fixed my A/C in 10 minutes. The Service provider was amazing. I let the microwave stuff slide bc you can make do w/o a microwave but you cannot be without A/C in Texas summers. Choice Home Warranty seemed indifferent to the emergency.

I'm waiting for the job to be completed because they found a refrigerant leak and requested a stop leak treatment and recharge. Stared last Thursday. Job is ongoing!

I have been a Choice Home customer for nearly a decade. Choice Home generally covers most necessary items, however, their customer service is subpar. When a major appliance or system breaks in your home, it can be very stressful and overwhelming. To spend time waiting (sometimes days) for a technician to get assigned and then to spend additional time advocating for adequate reimbursement for appliances or waiting for parts (sometimes up to two weeks!) while being met with resistance from customer service staff can be exhausting. There are some good customer staff members, but those who are rude and argumentative spoil the lot. I continue to be a member as my home is older and I have generally had success with getting appliances replaced, but the protocols and procedures during the claim submission, review, and reimbursement process are what drive my 3 star review.

One was fixed, the other one was denied because they said it was unusual usage of the appliance because we had an electrical outage and the dishwasher didn't come back on and I'm still waiting right now for my washer to be determined what they're going to give me a settlement or not.

The last time I used them was for a hot water dispenser and they came out and checked what needed to be replaced and it was turned down. They said it's not covered, but if it wasn't covered I think they should not even send anybody out to struggle on the phone with it, save me 65 bucks. A few months ago, I was having problems with my air conditioner. The compressor was making a tremendous amount of noise. Choice had a guy out here but he said Choice won't fix that because it's just making noise. I live in a small neighborhood with 105 houses, retirement place for over 55, so the houses are pretty close together and I said this thing is making all this noise and it bothers my neighbor at night but Choice won't fix it, not for just making noise, so I was very disappointed in that.

The services are good. I have had my dishwasher repaired once and it has worked ever since. One time I logged that wrong request and then they really charged me twice. If a customer is doing something wrong because of the system and the way it is designed to submit a cliam, the penalty should not come to the customer.

The only thing I don't like about Choice is when when you need something replaced in your home, you have to wait 30 days in order to receive a reimbursement check to get get your product. Once I call, I don't have any problems with speaking with someone, they get me back to the right person that I need to talk to to get my claim out.

I thought their prices were fair and their coverage was good. I've always been able to get help by calling. I just had to use it for my kitchen sink. It was mostly a positive experience, but I did have to pay out of pocket to get the faucet that we needed. But the sink wa repaired, and I'm happy about that.

It took them 4 days to get somebody here and we had a plumbing problem so we had to turn the water off. We couldn't take a shower, couldn't flush the toilet. Choice advertises 80% of our claims are responded to within 24 hours. Well, with me it took 4 days to fix the leak. The guy sat here for 2 hours, probably on the clock, waiting for Choice to okay. The quality of workmanship was first class and it got done and Choice paid the bill. So you got to be happy with that, I just wish it could have gotten done 2 days sooner.

We had 2 experiences that weren't so great, but the rest have been very good. One was when we called them to come to fix the washer which was recently 2 years old, all the guy did was look at it, say it wasn't covered and he left. That left a bad taste in my mouth, I thought that was awful. He didn't even check it out or anything. A few weeks ago our dishwasher got fixed and the person did a great job, that would be a good experience.

I just recently used it for 2 things. My oven was not working correctly and the technician came out and got the part, got that replaced and I'm very happy with that. However, I also have a washer dryer stack and the washer started to leak and the technician came out and recommended that it be replaced but Choice said no, get the parts and fix it. So I waited for the parts to come in and the technician to come back and then when he came back he could not repair it because he couldn't get the old part out. Then Choice told me they would offer me so much money, which was about half of what it cost me to replace it. And they said I could talk to an agent to discuss it. But when I got around at that time to get the agent took another week because their appointments were all taken. So that was another week. And so I just spoke with the agent a couple of days ago and then she said, well you know, I just wanted to make sure that there's nothing that we're missing and she said we're well aware that you have a stacker unit. I thought maybe they thought I just had a washer because the amount they are offering is just enough to replace the washer, basically a very basic washer which is fine. But she said no, we're well aware it's a stacker, but she said we offer you the price that is wholesale. And I said, well, I can't get it for wholesale and and I said it's going to cost me twice what you're offering me. And she said, well, that's what it is, so I'm very unhappy with them, quite frankly because I was under the assumption they would either fix it or they would replace it. And they're not doing that.

I had an air conditioner problem last summer, they couldn't get anybody. That's why I had Choice Home Warranty to take care of it for me, so I wasn't very happy on that one. I had my oven go out here in January and again I am saying they didn't have anybody to do it. It's just kinda irritating to get that. If you want to do it yourself, why do I have the warranty. I could turn it in to get rebated, but I just didn't know that at the time. Then 2 days later I got an e-mail saying they'd come to be there the next day to fix it up. And they did, they did a good job.
