I can't understand how this company is stays in business. We have been thinking that we had a good home warranty company for at least 6 months and the first time we have a claim they deny it. Our hot water heater started leaking so we called Choice. They quickly sent someone out to diagnose the problem and sure enough hot water heater had a leak just like I told the customer service representative that took my call.The technician called choice to get an approval to replace leaking hot water heater. He was on hold for 45 minutes and finally told us he had to leave because he still had 4 more calls to get to today. About 30 minutes later the technician called and told me that he had just talked to Choice and they would be calling me with their decision. Nobody ever called they emailed me instead. The email was very long contained a bunch of legal jargon and bs. From what I understand they don't cover hot water heaters that fail due to a leak. I never heard of a hot water heater failing because of anything other than a leak. I have heard now from people that I trust and would know that Choice denies coverage on many items due to the reasons that normally cause the item to fail. In other words "good luck getting them to ever replace anything"! I really believe that they are the biggest rip off company I have seen or heard of.

Both claims made in 9 months were originally declined. You have to speak to a Manager to see if they will "make an exception" then you have to wait 30 days for the claim check...I repeat 30 days! The plumbing issue was over a thousand dollars and their plumbing maximum was only $500. Then upon cancellation of their service agreement they are keeping over $200 of the $1,400 3 year contract. I negotiated a discount and their argument is that the pro rated refund amount was based on their full amount of their contract without discounts! I suggest you read their "fine print" before moving forward with Choice. I don't know how they even remain in business!!!!

Great outfit if you need a socket replaced, switch changed out, leaky faucet fixed.....appliances, not so much. They have built into your agreement each most likely causes of failure as not covered. Example, all visible advertisement says water heaters covered. However leakage (the most common water heater failure) and damage to the burner from such leakage is NOT COVERED......READ THE AGREEMENT BRFORE INVESTING...ADVERTISING VERY MISLEADING........

Customers be aware, Choice Home Warranty is a complete FRAUD! After reviewing online for a reputable company to cover my home, I called Choice. The representative sold me a three year coverage with $45 deductible. After 32 days into the contract, my furnace went out. Choice contacted THEIR OWN PREFERRED HVAC company to come over and look at it. The technician who was very knowledgeable, informed me that the furnace is not repairable and Choice will replace it. After 2 days of waiting and calling CHW, finally I received a deny email that the furnace has not been maintained properly???!!! I could not believe my eyes reading this ridiculous reasoning behind denying my claim. I called them 5-7 times in 11 days (keep in mind, it's December in Ohio and the temperature is well below zero) without being able to resolve this. The company would not honor their contractual agreement and I finally was forced to call a HVAC company to come over to replace my furnace. I also called my attorney to file a lawsuit against the company for denying my claim and in addition contacted BBB in NJ and attorney General in NJ as well to inform them that this company won't honor the terms they set forth. The bottom line is, save yourself hassle and frustration and find a REAL warranty company who doesn't pay George Foreman to advertise for them in order for the company owners take home millions while your children freeze to death. I will have my day in court very soon and trust me Choice WILL PAY for their GREED.

I filed a claim for washing machine that stopped working and technician came out and reported that it needed to be replaced. We settled for the cost of replacement and they said we would have the check within 30 days. Well, they said that they sent the check January 2, 2019. We have not received the check and they have said to check with the Post Office, they have said to re-issue a new check there would be a $30.00 processing fee that would be deducted from the check or we could wait 90 days to see if the check arrives and then they could re-issue another check without the fee. Hmmm, wait 90 days to see if check arrives without paying the $30.00???? I feel that this company is not honorable. I am a senior citizen and Army Vet. and this is not how you honor your customers.

I got this program when I first got the house. They say they cover a whole array of things in the house, but when you need it, they take the claim with no issues, but this program covers mostly the assessments of the issues which we pay dile anyways with the call fee.

submitted a claim on 1/16. Choice had to find a contractor to address my issue. I told them that I had to be out of town and would have to my Dad sit at the house for the plumber. The plumber called and said they would be at my house second stop. They didn't get there until after 5:00 that night and was told that they had emergencies come up. I asked why mine wasn't an emergency since I had water leaking in my house. They replaced two water lines they said were leaking. I told them I didn't think that was the problem because there wasn't water coming from the water lines it was coming from the floor. Plumber said yep you have a drain problem and left. I called Choice and Choice said that they denied the Claim because of rust but this one time they would go ahead and pay for it. I said that's fine but the problem isn't fixed. The agent said ok I'll send you the money and you can find someone to fix the problem. I then asked what about the money owed to the plumber who came out. He said if they didn't fix the problem I wouldn't pay them. I eventually got assigned a claim manager who said that we would need to do a recall and get the original problem fixed. Plumber called back and said you'll be our second stop. Waited until almost 6 o'clock before they got there. They had emergencies come up. Water still leaking. This was a week after the original claim. They "fixed" the problem and left. Next day the sink backed up and then started leaking from one of their connections. Called them back out. We'll get there as soon as we can. 6 o'clock. Tightened all the connections and said that should do it. Next morning while washing dishes I hear water dripping. Call the plumber and was told well I don't understand what is going on we tightened everything and we are booked up for the day. I called in another plumbing company that said I would have issues from now own because the job wasn't done right unless everything was removed and done right. I called Choice, because the plumber said that Choice wasn't going to pay to fix the leak, to see if we could figure something out. I said that these are the people that you sent to my home to do the work. Choice said you could have picked someone else. I said no you told me I would have to do a recall so that the plumbers could address the original claim. Choice said yes we did. I said now I'm going to have to pay out of my pocket to get the problem fixed and pay the plumbers that you sent to my house and didn't fix the problem. Choice said that it is not their responsibility to pay for negligence due to contractors. It has been two weeks. I still can't use my kitchen sink because it still leaks. I'm having to pay to get it fixed. Choice is sending me a check for $226 for the original work that didn't need to be done. I said I want to cancel my warranty because if these are the kind of contractors you use it's a waste of my money. Choice said if I cancel they won't send me to $226 check. I originally chose Choice because the reviews said that they where the best. They aren't I've had better luck from American Home Shield. I guess it's like everyone says, Home warranties are a waste of money

I have not had a good claim experience with Choice. They could not repair my oven and they refused to provide funds to replace a comparable oven. They made an offer based on a single wall oven and when I questioned the offer because I have a single convection oven they refused to change the offer. They even acknowledged that the offer was below what they could find a replacement for but still refused to change. Don't be fooled, there is no repair or funds to replace. They play with the wording of the contract and there is no recourse to go to anyone to change the offer of the claims handler.

When I purchased a three year extended warranty from Choice Home Warranty, I thought I was buying some piece of mind. But no, they find every loophole to deny a claim. When the evaporator coil in the attic on my AC unit failed a couple of years ago, they denied the claim stating that if it is under a manufacturer’s warranty then they will not cover it. Ok, on some level I understand it, but the manufacturer only covers the part. Since the manufacturer covered the compressor, it should have caused CHW less to repair it. However, they will use every loophole to deny a claim. Another gripe I have is their heavy handed marketing to renew policies. After three years without paying a single claim, they have called me at least 20 times asking me to renew the policy. I politely told them that I was not interested and asked them to please stop calling me. Sadly, on the 20th time, I was not very polite about it! When they are so aggressive about trying to sell policies, home owners should be cautious and look at other companies.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY! I put a claim in on the Jan 3, 2019 for my glass stovetop. The first assigned company never showed up, the second came out and then myself nor Choice could reach them, the third just called to get some info from me. The parts I was told came in on the 21st still no call about install. I have called their solution and authorization numbers numberous times, don't know why when they can't solve or authorize anything they just keep talking in circles. I even sent a certified letter to the CEO about someone that sent to repair my refrigerator, NO REPLY. They sent a guy out with only a screwdriver. Kept asking if I had tools he could use. Instrad of unclipping the old part he cut the two wires on the old part, cut the wires on the new part, was going to rwist them together and put plastic tape on something that gets cold, damp and wet. I told him to get the _ _ _ out of my house and I fixed it. If I could give this company a -5 star rati g that would be to good. STAY AWAY, IF NOT YOU'LL BE SORRY!

As a first time home owner I wanted a security blanket for my large investment. So I picked Choice Home warranty. HUGE MISTAKE! I made a claim on my outside heating unit, it wasn't pushing warm air into my home. The AC/Heating technician came out and checked the unit out. After his inspection of the unit his conclusion was holes in the heat exchanger. The technician felt confident that everything else was in good working condition and the only problem was the heat exchanger. so the technician submitted his findings to Choice Home warranty for repairs. A few hours later I was notified by email from Choice home warranty that my claim was denied! I was shocked! How could this be!?! Here's what the Choice Home Warranty Team. "It has been determined there is a cracked and/or compromised heat exchanger. Heat exchangers are made of materials designed to withstand the transfer of heat through the chambers and cabinet of the furnace and the standard expansion and contraction that is associated with this process. Carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium and various alloys are all incorporated into the structure, with the outer shell being steel or stainless steel. Water leaks on the system, weather from a drain line that is plugged or a humidifier that isn't seated properly, will cause a corrosive build up on the outer shell and rust which creates premature cracking". "Please refer to your terms and conditions section F number1; we are not responsible for malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances." This is absolutely crazy! Everyone knows that heat exchangers burning natural gas , a natural byproduct of that process is moisture. Moisture which causes rust inside the heat exchanger and rusts from the inside out. No way to avoid it! I feel that choice home warranty is being deceitful in stating that air-conditioning, furnaces and appliances will be repaired. I following up with the case manager & she laughed at me when I told her that the home warranty was bogus and the company was taking money from clients that trust the warranty is valid, when in fact the company never intends on fixing or re[placing any broken appliance. My wife and I paid this warranty 6 years in advanced (fully paid)and are really regretting it. This warranty is very limited on what they cover. Also had a tech come over to diagnose my washer and apparently CHW can not send you a copy of the diagnosis and the Tech is not responsive. (45 dollars wasted). The only reason I give 2 stars is the customer service. They are not the nicest, but explained everything so I can understand thoroughly which I appreciate.

Choice home warranty is a HORRIBLE company there customers are NOT their top priority. Choice home warranty picks and choose what is cover all the service providers have contracts with them that work against the customers. In 2013 or 2014 my dryer stop working so I got a call from choice stating my dryer couldn’t be fix give me 350.00 for replacement I call someone else out to look at the dryer 475.00 fixed the dryer I’m still using that dryer it’s 2019. That was the first lie I knew that much couldn‘t be wrong with the dryer because I purchased it in 2010.In 2015 my air conditioner stop working wouldn’t cover at all. Didn’t call me just email me with denial ok that was 4,000. Still stayed with them (Choice home warranty) January 2019 my furnace stop working again refused to fix(repair) I called another company out (after paying 37.50 month plus 45.00 service charge each time) I paid the other company 270.00 to fix my furnace don’t used this company NOT TO BE TRUSTED !!! WORTHLESS !!!! I CANCELED AS 2019

These people are crooks. They took three years punt out of my bank account after i stressed several times i only wanted one year. Then i had a water heater problem where my burner would not stay lit. They sent a repairman out who left with parts and never returned them. The second repairman they sent out eyed it and said II needdd a new water heater and left. I called and found my report was closed as a leak in the tank not covered. I sent pictures proving there was no leak. They then said it was dirty. It was not. There were a few parts left by it from the first repairman. They then sent a third repairman who confirmed there was no leak. I never heard back and called and they said the report was closed as a leak in the tank not covered even with the pictures I sent and their own third repairman telling them there was no leak. I went over a month taking cold showers. I finally replaced it myself. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. THIS IS A SCAM. THEY SHPULD BE SHUTDOWN. I WAS OUT OVER 400 dollars and HOURS of lost time trying to reason with these crooks. They did not even read their own repairman’s reports. They are horrible and would not even refund my yearly fee. They are crooks. Tanisha I think was the person I talked with. She was rude and no help at all.

Although I have been unhappy with CHW because of the number of unapproved claims lately, I was completely satisfied with Jeff of AAA Air and Heating. Not only did he fixed the problem associated with my claim, but in his diligence, he solved a long running problem of my HVAC unit continuing to run after reaching temperature that other repairmen had failed to fix. My claim involved my outside unit not engaging. Jeff discovered that the unit was not getting feedback from the thermostat and installed a new one. 2 problems solved.

On December 13th, 2018, I submitted a request for service for my dishwasher. On December 15th Ryan H with Next Level Appliance came to work on the dishwasher & paid him $60. He determined that a valve needed to be replaced. I called him on the 18th & he stated the part was ordered. I HAVE NOT heard from him since & he has not responded to my calls or text. Choice has told me that the was not even ordered until December 21st & has repeatedly told me he would be calling me. As of this moment, January 16th, 2019 have yet to hear from him. What must I do to get this handled??? This is by far the WORST service I have ever received/not received in my 75+ yrs by both Choice & Next Level.

We've had minor problems with small appliances in the past and Choice has provided adequate support. In early November of 2018, our washer stopped working. Choice sent a technician and determined that the washer was not repairable. They offered us $350.00, which we felt was a reasonable amount considering the age of the unit. Near the end of November, we called for information on when we would receive the payment. We were told that the payment had been processed and sent on November 27th. We called twice in December and were told that Choice had 90 days to get the check to us, but that we could have a new check written and sent if we paid $30.00.! We've purchased a replacement washer thinking that Choice would provide the payment within a reasonable amount of time. Early this month(January) we called again and the representative told us to wait before requesting a new check to be issued. It is now the 15th of January and no check. We have a second home and were planning to get a home warranty through Choice. Having seen the bad service we've received, we may go elsewhere.

My furnace went out on 1/5/19. Called it in. I live in Wisconsin so figured they would get somebody here quickly. I receive an email message on 1/9/19 saying someone would be coming on 1/11/19. On 1/10/19 I received an email saying the company that was going to come on 1/11/19 had refused the request for service so someone ele would be here on 1/16/19. I called Choice Warranty to let them know we need service and he said the company that was down to come on 1/16/19 had just sent a refusal so they would have to look for someone else to help me. I couldn't wait any longer so I called someone myself to come and fix the furnace. I've been with this company 2 years and this is the response I get when I finally need them. Horrible service.

I called choice in September2018 because my dishwasher needed to be repaired. I was sent at least seven different Techs who could not repair my dishwasher. Each Tech refused to send over the diagnostic for my machine. After the third looser came to my house I refused to pay any more deductibles, however Choice kept sending them. It is now January 2019 and they Choice have decided to give me $300.00 to replace a $800.00 drawer dishwasher. It is not worth the aggravation, some of the people who came to my home just plain stunk and others frightening. I found a better warranty that states up front "after 4 attempts they will replace the appliance". Choice does not dare to make such an offer. Choice is just plain a fraud.

This was my first claim with choice and the experience was terrible! My garage door opener stopped working and I expected it to be replaced with a “similar” one as the policy states. However choice would not do that and wanted to put in a less expensive design. I spoke with the supervisor who spoke to me like I was an idiot saying similar doesn’t necessarily mean the same type or design. Unfortunately I have already referred several people to Choice because customer service when getting signed up was great. Now I will let all of those people know this is not the direction to go in. Very disappointing!

My warranty is expiring very soon and I have no intention to renew it. The response to a claim is slow and several times I could not wait for them to call me back in a couple of days. Once my sump pump quit working and my basement was flooded the other was a 5 day weekend over 4th of July with no air conditioning. Both times I had to call a repairman immediately. Both times my claim was denied even though they would have sent out the same companies that came out to repair the air and sump pump. I did let them know but the customer service agents just read from a script AND WERE NO HELP. NO THINKING GOES ON THERE. Customers are not their priority. HORRIBLE!!! My advice is to get a lawyer.

I had two (3 year) warranties through Choice Home Warranty on each of our homes in Georgia. When I had an HVAC issue at my home in Augusta I called to see if the issue was under warranty. In order for that to be determined they sent an HVAC company out to assess the issue. They did not cover the cost of the repair but the company they sent out gave me the best price of the 4 companies from which I got estimates so I hired them to do the install. The company turned out to be a complete fraud. They installed a unit that was supposed to be new with warranties that was actually 3 years old with no warranty. Once I realized the unit was not what it was supposed to be I had to make a fraud claim through American Express to try to recoup my money and in the process of all the investigating I found out that they are not licensed in Georgia to do business and that they failed to get a permit or an inspection from the county for their work. Consequently, Columbia County has brought charges against the owner, who did my work, and I have been summoned to court as a witness for the county in their case against this business. I can't get anyone of substance with Choice Warranty to speak with me about this issue so I'm hoping you can get someone to contact me or to at least not to send fraudulent people to unsuspecting costomer's homes!

After speaking with a sales person who said "all your appliances" were covered, I purchased the warranty. I should have read thoroughly the pamphlet which basically states that this is a MECHANICAL WARRANTY ONLY!!!!!. It does NOT cover anything that isn't mechanical at all. DO NOT BUY with the expectations that your appliances and other things are covered top to bottom. I had a service contractor come out, diagnose the issue and CHOICE decided that they didn't like his report so sent another one out. He said he would fix the problem but for $165 since the issue WASN"T COVERED under the warranty ( not much is ). I said go ahead and lets do it, haven't heard from him since. It appears that probably ALL of the warranty companies are a scam so I would suggest saving your money and just pay out of pocket and be done with it. Totally NOT pleased with CHOICE. I wish I had another 'choice'. Additionally, they told me after 10 days I couldn't cancel but the pamphlet says otherwise. Might be time to exercise my rights

I appreciate how quickly you responded to my claim off the website. The technician came right out two days later!! Awesome! My motherboard in the dryer was broken and cannot be repaired or replaced, so you said you'd replace it. HOWEVER, I was only offered $299.99 . When I appealed it, Sal, my claim manger said that was the price of the motherboard so that's it. Well, that's not a REPLACEMENT. 😒

They were supposed to be here Monday, but after I called on Wednesday they said they would be here that afternoon. They showed up at 2:52 PM. A part was needed they didn't have. Said it might be here Friday but no show. We will wait until Monday I suppose. We will see It's now the following Monday (12/31/2018) and nothing yet has happened. Still waiting. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO GO UNTIL MY DISH WASHER IS FIXED? This is during the xmas and new year holidays.... Called about 12/19/2018. They showed up about 12/24 ? I have lost track. My dish washer is still not fixed on 1/4/2019. I left a message on the 3rd. They called this morning and said the part still was not here. Expected to be in soon. I CAN ONLY WISH!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE....

After purchasing our home, we looked for a home warranty and then got call from these representative from CHW. After talking to 1 agent who was so annoying and rude to the maximum extent ....................someone called Charlie, I had to call CHW to file a complaint against him literally harassing me over phone. Then another agent called and I finally signed up for 5 years plan on December 13th. I was told that I will be getting al the information by postal within 2 weeks which i have not received so far. Also, even after signing the plan with CHW, I got zillions call per day till 29th december when I was vacationing and these people almost called me daily 6-7 times with so called good rates. Even after several complains to take me off their calling list and email list they kept on calling me until I got mad to the extent to ask the agent to stop calling me or else I am reporting this company for harassment by multiple calls and ruining my vacation to the extent that I had to keep my phone switched off. And finally when the calls didn't stop, I had to cancel the policy with them today. When you take the policy these people will charge you right next second but after cancellation they will take 15-30 days for money back, that point I don't get.... Hope none of you get harassed by these so called CHW reps that you have to look for policy cancellation even before it starts. My experience is awful as my 9 year old heard my conversation with the rep few times (i had my speaker phone on) and he got really scared with the rage some rep talk to the customers.

This company is a complete scam, they’re only in business to sell memberships and profit. They’re not interested in your or your warranty needs. All of my conversations with them have been taped or recorded “ for quality purposes”, I strongly advise you to record everything they say or do. Short version, I bought a home, haven’t even made the first payment. Buyer purchases a home warranty policy for me. The house was inspected, it passed with flying colors and it was emasculate from top to bottom. These ::::scammers::::: got a call from me when 1 of the 2 water heaters pilot would not stay on. The ::::.scammers:::: sent out their team who said it needing replacing. Do they denied my claim. Claiming the Seller was liable for not maintaining the hot water heater. It had considerable calcium build up, causing the pilot not to burn. Even the most uneducated person on the planet could abstract the lies in this accusation. I had 3 more Plummer’s come out the same day. All gave reviews and all were recorded, none agreed with the Scammers. I loathe these people and I am willing to go as far as I have too to exposed them. I will also post the tapes on YouTube

Their service they provide is not worth the monthly fee. You need to read everything they DON'T cover. The service people they use do not have proper ID or come in company trucks. This has happen twice to me now. The last time I called because the breaker box keep turning off one of the breakers and was warm to the touch. The man that came out looked in the box and said I needed a sperate breaker, said it was not covered, demaned the $45.00 and left. I contacted Choice they said the would look into it and contact me, they closed the claim without any contact. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SERVICE.

It was determined that our clothes dryer start switch was no longer available to purchase; consequently the dryer was not repairable and in need of replacement. I was given an offer of $299.99 that was not even close to replacement cost. I declined the initial offer. We were contacted a short time later and it appeared to turn in to a "negotiation" session and the representative increased their offer to $350.00. I had no choice but to accepted the offer but I will still must spend a significant amount of out of pocket money to replace the dryer. I was also told that the company determines the amount to replace an appliance on wholesale and not retail so in order for me to get another dryer I will have to pay the additional amount; and it would take twenty days to process the offer and an additional five business days before the check will arrive. THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST. IF I COULD GIVE THE COMPANY A ZERO RATING I WOULD. This company is a disappointment. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before dealing with this company.

The very first claim ( bathroom exhaust fan) we made with Choice was never settled - we received an email that they could not find anyone in our area to make the repair! They said if we would find someone to do the work, they would re-imburse us for the cost....total scam. They immediately started their game of wanting our electrician to call them before making repairs so they could review...after having us do the work we thought we were paying for when we took out our contract! After a couple months with no communication from them, we decided to cancel our contract and demanded a refund. They did not refund our total amount and charged us for the first couple of months - in which no repairs were made. This is a sorry company to do business with and we are informing all our friends and family to avoid them completely! I guess it’s an old fashioned belief to think you should get what you pay for...definitely the case with these Shysters!!! Avoid at your peril...

I have had nothing but bad experiences, I put in two claims on December 15, which neither issue is fixed. I put in a request for my chain on my ceiling fan that controls my light . The schedule appointment was scheduled for Wednesday from 7 to 11. Here it is 4 o’clock no one has called or anything I called technician number and he said I am out of town choice warranty was suppose to reschedule it and get in contact with you I said no one has call email or anything !! So I have to be without a light in my bedroom until when ? He said he would fall them to see if they could assign to another technician still haven’t heard from them or anything totally unprofessional. But what makes me the most furious besides this during the Christmas holiday!! The other request was my faucet on my tub was leaking .. which was told to me this summer before getting this package all fixtures in bathroom are replaced etc . The representative pretty much bribed me into getting this higher packages and to not go with another company to basically get a sale .. plumber comes out and barely do anything and says am not gone try to take it apart bc the entire cartridge needs replacing so I will order it and submit it to then . Hour later received email claim denied cartridge not a fixture .. I have a lot of neighbors with these guys and told them my experience and they some are not renewing either . I will be sure to let the neighborhood know bc they not professional and representative don’t care about customers just trying to make a sale . Company’s are now based off numbers and metrics .. They don’t care about the customers really it’s sad.
