I run my own business . . SO, I understand customer service. I’m very disappointed w/ what little service I’ve received from your company. It’s been my experience; there’s NO direct communication b/w CHW and the customer; and very little follow up, except your bogus surveys hoping for positive feedback. I DO NOT understand the next two questions below this feedback box; “Paying customer service” ??? “Specific invitation from CHW to leave this review” ??? It appears to me, CHW has no interest in really helping me when I have a claim or need help.

It took a week to get someone to come out and tell me my microwave could not be fixed. Another week to get the approval to replace and once accepted the amount (which you can’t replace the microwave) I’m now waiting for the gift card from Lowe’s which could take a month! Am I happy with this…. NO!! I will be without a microwave for almost two months and the have to hire someone to install it!!

My first contact has not been a positive one. I was experiencing no water from my kitchen faucet. It was an entire day before s i was contacted by a service person. He arrived I paid the service fee. He said he had to submit paperwork. Choice Warranty decided it was not normsl wear and tear. At this point I'm three days without water. I am the owner as well as the occupent. The house was built 13 years ago.. The decision to deny the claim is based on an assumption not knowledge.

They are a joke. I don't say that flippantly or lightly. Each claim was handled with the intent to find a way out of paying for repairs. Read all the fine print...you will find that even with "premium" packages, not much is covered. Many of the service techs they partner with openly expressed condolences that we chose Choice (which speaks volumes). I paid for optional pool/spa coverage. It didn't even cover malfunction of the central pool pump...anything that gets near the atmosphere of electrical system issues (90% of time a pump malfunctions, this comes into play), it is a flat out "deny". I rarely if ever write negative reviews. I'm spending the time to do so to hopefully stear folks clear of disappointment and a colossal waste of their money. SHOP ELSEWHERE...believe me I wish someone had told me to do the same

I had a terrible experience with this company and I would never do business with them again. I purchased a home and the previous owner had the property covered by choice home warranty (CHW) for years and I paid extra to have the warranty continued and transferred to my name. The previous owner was not thrilled with the chw services but i decided to take a chance and pay for the ‘coverage.’ CHW supposedly covers breakdowns and ‘wear and tear.’. The AC system broke down in the heat of the summer. I called CHW and they sent an AC tech out. He was rude, curt, and unhelpful and charged me $60 but refused to fix anything. He wouldn’t even change an air filter. He said his job was not to fix anything but just to inspect it. When you pay a copay for insurance, it’s to receive services and repair. He did nothing. He said the filter needed to be replaced and he said the outdoor condenser unit was worn out (exposed to weather for decades) and needed to be replaced. But he said he couldn’t do any repairs. I had a new filter but he wouldn’t even put it in. I did. He said ‘take it up with CHW’ and left. No ac working in August. I called CHW and they said they would not fix it. They said it was not wear and tear. It was like segueing with a robot who just kept denying reality. The unit was worn out. Their tech said so and wrote it on the ticket. I eventually had 4 different AC technicians look at the ac system and all of them said the same thing. The unit was worn out and needed replacement. CHW refused to cover it and said there were no higher supervisors I could talk to snd I would be need to sue or go to arbitration. I am now involved in legal action with them. They collected premiums for years but when a repair was needed, they refused to help and were totally unhelpful. I would never do business with this company again.

Air conditioner is out. 95 degrees outside...currently 85 and rising in the house, both residents have a heart condition. Called customer service after submitting claim. The answer is: "We don't have anybody to service your claim right now! Wait 24 hours" Sales and sign-up immediate. Actual service call abysmal. Don't expect any sort of emergency service. Can't even offer known vendors in immediate area. Help desk was useless.

I moved into my house in Feb 2021 and my AC stopped cooling efficiently at the start of the summer. I opened a claim with Choice right after the end of the 30 day waiting period to try and get it fixed. They denied that claim because the issue began a week prior to the end of that period. I paid out of pocket for a tech to come service the AC. He said it was low on refrigerant and refilled it. His advice was to wait and see how long it lasted before having a leak inspection b/c then we would know how severe it was. Nearly 30 days later, the AC was failing again to pump cold air. I called the same company and they refilled the refrigerant again, did the leak inspection, and yearly service. They told me there was a leak at the evaporator coil and I would need to replace it and the valve. I made a claim with Choice and they sent their in-network tech to confirm. He sent the info to Choice and they requested more info from me about repairs. I sent them the previous invoices for the refrigerant fills. It should also be noted that the manufacturer warranty was no good anymore. Choice denied the claim stating the coil failure was a “pre-existing” condition - which you could say about nearly EVERY system that might fail when you purchase a new house. Sounds like they just didn’t want to pay the claim and made up some BS excuse. We paid over $1700 for this plan just to have our time wasted and help denied based on something we couldn’t have known about or done anything about prior to moving in.

They suggested we get a new refrigerator instead of fixing ours which would have been $1,000; they gave us a gift card for $736. to put towards a new one, but we can't get this gift card for 30 days; we need one now. They didn't tell us that before we "accepted" the egift card. Now we can't back out and have the repair done. We think this is to help their bottom dollar and not the customer! I won't renew when contract is up.

I am not pleased with CHW. I filed a claim on June 16 regarding my refrigerator. The service man recommended a new one. I have been without one for over 2 weeks and no resolution from CHW. They have over promised and under delivered. I lost all of my food and still having to feed my family at restaurants daily at my cost( Over two weeks). At this point I would not recommend CHW to anyone. They have no problem deducting my account monthly for money for the plan they sold me on. Why did I agreed on a 6 year plan. Everyone I speak with act like they are reading a script and does not under what you are talking about. Sorry Customer Service!!

Choice Home Warranty offered me only $241 for my Kitchen Aid microwave which cannot be repaired as Kitchen Aid no longer offers replacement parts; but has to be replaced. The price to replace the exact model is $683 from Home Depot. I understand Choice may not replace the exact brand but given the microwave's features, wattage and size there is not a compatible brand or model that retails less than $500. When I signed on with Choice three years ago I was told they would replace any covered item with a like make or model. This is BS service. Now I'm faced with arbitration.

The WORSE POSSIBLE SERVICE EVER RECEIVED!!!!! I submitted my first claim and the response time for the repair was great. I was actually excited to have switched to Choice. However following the repair, my AC unit began leaking into my house. For 3 days I argued with this company about getting a repairman back to the house to fix the issue. I was told that because it is a recall on my original claim I had to call and set up the appointment. I tried for 2 days and the contractor NEVER answered the phone until Choice called them. And they gave me an appointment for 8/5. This is on 7/26 with water actively leaking and damaging my house. I have had to hire a private contractor to come to my house and fix the repair that was caused by the original technician. I have pictures and documents on how this was the fault of the original repairman. I now have to pay for carpet cleaning/replacement as well as dry wall repair due to the delay. I called Choice and asked for a supervisor all 3 days and was told that they don't have supervisors or that they work from home so no way for the rep to transfer me to a supervisor. I spoke to one supervisor, Kent, who I inquired on the legal name of the company that did the repair initially as well as their tax ID number as I am unable to confirm that this is even a legit company.. I am still waiting for a follow up call 4 days later.

When we bought Choice Home Warranty 4 years ago, we really thought it was going to be amazing. However, having used it now for 4 years, I can't use strong enough words to say how disappointed I am. Had I taken the insurance premium I paid in 2017 and put it aside, I would be $$$$ ahead. There is ALWAYS a reason something isn't covered, or the reimbursement offered is pennies on the dollar. My most recent experience with my built in dishwasher. I was told dimensions were not taken into account. So, I was told $246 was all I could get, because they claims adjuster found a dishwasher for $349.00. The claims adjuster acknowledged that the unit she was looking at would NOT fit in my kitchen, but that didn't matter. Another experience was my air conditioner was NOT covered, because there was rust. The claims adjuster acknowledged that it was NORMAL for an 18 year old unit running R22 to have some rust (the R22 actually causes rust over time). She said that was why they were offering a new policy that didn't have the rust exclusion. My total layout for the A/C and Dishwasher $12 THOUSAND dollars. And here I thought I had paid for coverage, rather than just PAID! NO.....MY experience has been horrible. Want more examples? I do not have one positive thing to say!

Not a good experience so far! Put in a claim on 7/22, was given tecnican info and they would be here on 7/28 between 11 and 3 and at 4 p.m. I had to call customer service to find out why no one showed up. I was told it will be reassigned and I will have a new date and time within 4 hours, it's now been almost 5 hours and nothing.i am the only one in house hold so I had to take off of work to wait around for nothing. 12 hours at 30 dollars an hour is nor small change but didn't seem to matter when I was on the phone. Hopefully this company proves me wrong but so far that's 2 strikes, no show and no call is 1 and why tell me 4 hours and 5 hours later still nothing, that's strike 2.

Buyer Beware!!!!!!The people writing good reviews for Choice Home Warranty must be fake reviewers. In my humble opinion, Choice Home Warranty Company uses fraudulent practices. I am in the process of filing against them with the Texas Real Estate Commission for making up reasons to not cover my dripping faucets (when their own plumber worked on it earlier and didn't repair it correctly.) They also agreed to fix my leaking sink but the plumber they sent picked up the $65.00 service fee, diagnosed it saying they would return in a couple days, but it's been a month now. Their plumber keeps promising to come fix it but never shows up. It's been almost a month now and they are not showing up or answering my phone calls. This is just one reason I'm trying to warn others about the terrible service and fraudulent actions by Choice Home Warranty! I hope this helps someone else. Also, PLEASE note...If something can't be fixed and must be replaced, they will only pay a fraction of the cost to replace it. For example, a dishwasher that normally costs 500.00, they will only offer 240.00 AND YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT INSTALLED AND DELIVERED. Beware!!!!!!!!

So far not happy at all…. The service provider did not show during the designated time, I had to call him and then tell him that it was too late to come… This was 30 minutes after the time was over he was to be there… I allowed a 5 hour time frame and had to miss an important meeting for him… Called the company today and could not understand my person on the line. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told I would have to send an email…. Meanwhile the bathroom most used in the house is not in working order… The plumber they had chosen for me asked me when I called if this bathroom was used often…. I said it is primary bathroom… Not happy…

From 6/14/21 to 7/20 /21 we had no stove. We were feed on story after another. “We have tried 20 people and can’t find anyone to come there”. We had one appointment scheduled and no one showed. After multipack daily calls, a company came on 7/20. The repair was an $8.00 part. We wasted a lot of time on trying to get the warranty work. Of course, when it was sold we were told there was a 24-48 hour turn around….that is totally untrue. Frankly, how is it my problem that they can’t get someone to take the service call. Over sold and underperformed . I would have selected no star if it was an option.

CHWs coverage for the LIMITED ROOF is very limited you'll have a difficult time locating what part of the roof it covers. It is a waste of money and the contractors are not vetted. Out of 3 contractors sent to my home only 1 actually mounted my roof to view the entire problem and even he delayed diagnosis to CHW even when I made several attempts to contact him before CHW denied my claim. I am disappointed in the service I received on this claim and will never generate the optional coverage on any Home Warranty service again. The experience I incurred with CHW was unnecessary and could have been handled better considering my relationship with the other coverage services prior to the LIMITED Roof. I did not get the service I paid for with the LIMITED ROOF. It definitely wasn't worth the money I paid and the time I exercised to be inconvenienced by the many contractors visiting my home for repair. CHW, you have to do better in vetting contractors and inquire specific questions to note they even conducted any inspection. It is time-consuming for customers to appeal an assessment when CHW knows the contractor is not professional in conducting the work.

Terrible. . .just look at the reviews . . . they do not address and specifics in their replies. It is the same canned reply every time. For my area, they only use Sears service. Sears service only orders parts from Sears. Washer broke, made claim. the first serviceman came out and diagnosed the problem. ordered the part. Sears service only orders parts from Sears. Sears said the part was out of stock. I ordered the part from Amazon. They had it in stock. Three weeks later Sears still did not have the part "in stock". Nor would they pay me for the part I have and install it. Three weeks later they opted to say they would "replace" my washer. They told me they would pay me 2/3 of what the least expensive washer costs. NOR WOULD THEY TELL ME HOW THEY CAME UP WITH THAT AMOUNT. I appealed the amount and the representative would not tell me how they developed that amount. under that logic, they could offer me $1 and said that was the amount they could replace it for. Has anyone noticed that their response to every complaint, and there are a lot of them is identical. This was a horrible experience. They say they'll have a tech or someone's schedule to call you within 4 hours I did not get someone for 3 days then when the person was assigned they couldn't come out for another week and a half. I had no air conditioning in 90 plus degree weather. The tech came out and said that it was normal wear and tear that happens within a condensing coil of an air conditioning, he submitted his request to choice home warranty and literally within 1 to 2 minutes was declined coverage. I counted it they declined it again I've been sending emails with clarification where they had misinformation in a response as well as incorrect information after talking to two heating air ventilation inspectors for the city as well as two companies. I have still yet to hear back from them and it's been over a week and a half I would not advise utilizing this company

First claim was to pump my septic tank. The tech CHW sent didn't have any intention on pumping my tank. The first thing he wanted was the $65, then he told me I would have to pay him an additional $450. I can get the tank pumped for $ 450 without CHW. But now I am out of $65 for nothing. The second claim was for my a/c that stopped working. CHW sent tech ,tech turned in to CHW what it would take to fix it. CHW refused to pay, they said it wasn't normal wear and tear. My system is 18 years old and the normal life is 10 to 20 years. Now I'm out of another $65 for nothing again. I called the claim specialist, she was very rude, kept talking over me. The only reason I was polite was because I was talking to a woman. In my opinion CHW is a rip-off, I feel sorry for the people that have to work for a company that has no morals or integrity. I called due to a AC problem, received an email that said I would be contacted with in 24 hours. Did not receive any thing from you or a local technician, so I called choice home and was put in queue for the next available person to take my call. Or I could press 2 and choice would return my call. Did not receive a call back so I called again. This time I was told I could contact a local company myself and I elected that choice home do this rather than me. I then received another email that said I would be contacted via email with in 24 hours. I did receive the email with company and appointment for service. The day of the appointment arrived and no one showed up so I called the company and they said they could only take a request for choice home at one per day? I then requested a time they could do the service call and they were very accommodating. They sent a technician out and repaired my AC. I guess the long and short of this is I was very disappointed with choice home warranty. Communication with me was very poor. From the time I requested support to repair was approximately 4 plus weeks.

I am very dissatisfy with your services. It took you more than 2 months to find some one to look at my dish washer and after that the problem is not solved , the dishwasher needs a new pump and you told technician not to do that and the dishwasher will be replaced and you offered me 245.00 dollar to buy a new one. How about you buy me a dishwasher with that price and replace it. I am so sorry that I switched from my previous home insurance to you. Their services was great and I should never changed to you because you were cheaper , big mistake. I will never recommend you to anyone. I will change mine as soon as my contract it expires with you.

No follow up on claim. No authorization issued as stated. I had to spend two hours on the phone to get the authorization sent. Six days with no hot water. Update: Eight days with no hot water because company sent I repair didnt call or knock just rang the ring doorbell and then left because I was in the backyard for a minute.

Words can't express how bad my experience was. I called May 18, 2021 requesting service work on 2 items. One a refregerator and the other a dishwasher. Both Samsung purchased 2012. In my opinion this is the company from hell. They first denied the claim on the refrigerator. I followed with an appeal and finally got the part. I installed it to avoid my sitting here at the house hour after hour, day after day waiting for repair. Second, the dishwasher, finally got fixed july 9, 2021 only because I ordered and paid for my own part which they will not re-imburse me. In my case there were no concerns for the customer, me. Unable to communicate with this company. When ever i called, the person who was never the same would have someone call me back in 24 tos 48 hours. It was always the latter. No regard for the customers time.

0-but your system wont let people really tell their story. no problem. I have reached out twice about 2 techs who came out and were very unprofessional did not understand the job at hand and showed up in shorts, a t- shirt with a truck with no company name on it. Came into the house, smelled, and didn't take any hygiene care about spreading germs.I was told by your customer service to find my own tech because no one was available at the time of my order. After placing my claim I spent over an hour on the phone and communications to make sure the items listed in my claim were the exact items covered on the issues that were causing me problems in the bathroom. When the tech arrived, they took my money, then tried to write up things and get approved other things that were not covered, therefore, it came back that none of the work was approved. I have a faucet leaking from below. It is covered. After $$140 later I still do not have the item fixed and Nick the Self Identified Regional Manager out of Fl Lauderdale read his script to serve me, but used no problem solving skills at all. He was at home as I could tell when he hung up. He forget to hangup and my family and I recorded laughter, taunting, like a party background and the word, "there goes another stooge." Really, this is cushy. We can play with ourselves and get paid for it." And then there was a hang up. We and other members in the community are putting together evidence to send the Florida Business Commission office and Attorney General Inspector and we are reaching out to social media and we have gotten already 2,000 customers with complaints on your company service. In good faith, they chose your company. You obviously do not have your customers "Best interest at heart."

They suck. Horrible. Months ago my microwave went out. I called tech came out said I needed a new board. CHW said it would be cheaper to get a new microwave. I was only given $191.00 not even enough to cover the total price of a comparable over the range microwave(sYvette said that’s there cost. What’s their cost. They don’t have a warehouse). Yvette also refused to have someone come in and put the new microwave in. She sad that’s at their discretion and they only pay to install HVAC systems. It cost me $125 to get it installed. Found out they have a class action law suit against them for this very reason. They are Scam artists!!

After not having a technician respond for a week, I called Choice and was informed no technician had responded to the request for repair of my dishwasher & refrigerator. I requested to speak with supervisor and was told one would call me within 24 hrs. I didn’t receive a supervisor return call, but a technician did call to set appt. Upon diagnosing problem he ordered parts and has yet to call me to set appt to make the repairs.

They will do everything to decline your claim. I had an 8 year old washer. It burnt up. They will not cover. I also had a 4 year old commercial refrigerator. They sent someone out and he said it was a maintenance problem. Neither was solved. I paid $75 each time. Go with American Home Choice. I had them for 3 years. They had better options!! We had an air conditioner that went out in 2 homes. Much better choice!!

I like the idea of being able to get repairs or replacement, but it isn’t what it appears to be. You have to wait until the item is totally dead before getting replaced. Your company just does the minimal repair using cheaper products, and when it breaks down again before 30 days, when making a claim, the automated system doesn’t tell you that you have to call the last company to come back. Instead, an appointment is set up with a different company and I had to pay the service fee again. I was not pleased with that.

Worst service, frankly its very-very bad company and waste of money. In April 2019, i have bought 6 years of home warranty contract from choice home warranty. My use case about this review - in December 2020, my furnace was stop working so requested the service from choice, an technician visited my house and mentioned following: 1. Technician mentioned Thermostat and High Limit switch are the problem and need replacement. 2. Technician shared the invoice with me as well. 3. Paid the trade call fee to Technician. 4. Choice declined the claim saying that furnace is not cleaned. 5. Appealed the claim to choice with Picture of furnace which was pretty, making a note here that my new furnace was installed in 2018 only. 6. Choice approved the appeal and schedule another technician company to visit my house and was forcing me to pay trade call fee again for same furnace problem to be rechecked. It was horrible winter in MN during December and choice representatives were keep on making me fool by denying the claim and delaying the furnace repair, finally for the safety of my family decided to go with different company for repair and ended the contract with choice. Overall summary - Choice home warranty company is the Scam, please do not buy home warranty plan from choice.

The technician they sent to me the first time did not show up on time and when I called to find out why they were rude and inconsiderate. It was rescheduled he did come and gave me an evaluation and then they had to schedule a technician to come out a technician was scheduled between 11 and three today and it’s past 3 o’clock still has not showed up when you try to call them they do not answer but rather send you a text he indicated he’s running behind when I ask estimated time of arrival they have not answered. I am highly dissatisfied with the service

Reported a claim at 8:15pm and received an appointment email at 5:20 am the next morning. Service tech came, reviewed issue and am awaiting approval for repairs. So far so good. Waiting to see how quickly we get approval before I complete my final evaluation.

My experience with Choice Home Warranty has been very disappointing. They dont stand by their policy and you will spend your day playing phone tag. I can never reach a supervisor or anyone that can help proceed with my claims. The companies that I have dealt with haven't been reliable in keeping the appointments & some have servicemen that were so unprofessional that they hang up on you. It was to a point that I was assigned a case manager to resolve my claim, which she was unreachable at times & absolutely no help. I would never reccomend this company to anyone. They are happy to take your money until you need to use them.

CHW is a home warranty company that can be slicked at some times. My experience with them, while trying to obtain my own contractor or maintenance person to fix an appliance in my house was terrible both times it happened. I never got reimbursed and they found a way out of reimbursing me by saying the appliance team did not contact them first before applying the new part. The appliance company did contact them and it was standing by and waiting for a reply which never came. When I put in the second time to be reimbursed for a different appliance and they didn't reimburse me nor did they contact me with any kind of indications of when they would be reimbursed me, I contacted them 45 days later and they said that it went over the 30 day reimbursement time. Which I don't understand that. It was their fault that they never contacted me to let me know when I was going to be reimbursed after they approved my appliance to be fixed. The representative told me there's nothing she could do about it because that's their policy. I should have contacted them sooner to get my money back. So with these two experiences of never being reimbursed I can't say this is the better company because there's too many loopholes for them to get out of paying for a major product to be repaired or replaced.

It varies. I had an issue w/my washer, and a technician came right away. However, there was a part needed. The communication was terrible about this and when I called to address with a manager, I never got a callback. as a busy executive, I do not have time to chase people for something I pay for. There needs to be a better system in place.
