I understood Choice Home Warranty sent out the “Best Qualified Technician” to do the repair. After the company they sent out to repair or replace an ice maker never returned after saying they had to order the part we checked on the BBB web site and the repair company is rated F, with complaints taking people’s money and never returning to do repair. Still waiting on return call from Choice Home Warranty on our appeal. Lesson learned, check out company before appointment. I would think that Choice Home Warranty would verify business license and their rating with BBB before sending someone to do a repair.

When I call them, they are on it and put you on the schedule to have a technician come out to your house that day. I called them for my ac at night and the next day, the individual called me and came out the next day.

I chose Choice Home because they deductible is way lower than the lowest of the all the other companies. There have been several times when I had issues. Some of the contractors are rude and some don’t communicate. That is my only issue, the communication.

They could do better with their customer service. You put in a claim or a complaint and you get a lot of back and forth with twenty million people. I thought they were good at first but I have encountered a few problems. they would not replace something when they couldn’t fix it.

We really haven’t used their services much. The last time we called to use this warranty, they made an appointment but then when they got here, they told it us it was not covered so I had to get my own air conditioning person and it cost me two hundred and seven dollars. I was not happy with that.

Too expensive and can't divide payment up. Great with some home fixes then not great at fixing my ac and have to pay the 65 fee more then 9 times for a company to never get it right. Took over 3 weeks to recently get my ac fixed in summer

I have had to make 2 claims in almost ten months into the contract. One was for my refrigerator which was fixed and the other was for my oven. It is a double wall oven and they have found it to be more beneficial to replace it because it is so old. That being said, the issue I have is that they offered $599.99 which would not even cover the one oven never mind the double oven. I don't see how I can replace one without the other. I have not yet discussed this with them so in all fairness perhaps we can come to some mutually acceptable conclusion.

My ac wasn’t working so I called choice to get me a service contract and they were not very responsive. It took them a while to get back to me. I used to have American Home Shield and they used to get back to me within 24 hours. We ended having to call another company outside the warranty to come to assist us. They did try to resolve the issue.

Took weeks to get someone to come out to look at my AC and I had no heat when it happened for almost a month and they wouldn’t cover anything because it was seven years old. For small jobs like plumbing, garage disposal, and stuff like that it is usually fine but with anything major it’s a waste of money.

This is the best value for the services they provide. Seventy percent of the time they are good and thirty percent the request is not great. Their contractors are pretty good and responsive but they could expand their contractors so it could be quicker.

If they stayed in bounds overall it would be good but they have not stayed within the bounds of what was advertised. It is a good concept but they over charged, I was under the impression that I would pay the initial service fee and then everything else would be taken care of. I am very dissatisfied.

Do not use this Home Warranty Company if you live in the Tampa Florida area!!! I had Choice Home Warranty in Charlotte, NC. Service was great and the technicians were very competent and operated with honesty and integrity. Because of that experience, I decided to use Choice when I moved to Tampa. That turned out to be a big mistake. My home in Florida is an older home so I have had a few more issues that I did in Charlotte. Response time in Charlotte was excellent, here fair. The bigger issue is the level of technician expertise. Of the claims filed, I have only one technician I felt comfortable with and for all 3 AC repair claims, I had to call another company to actually fix the problem. My latest experience with an AC service call is what prompted me to finally write a review. My AC was cooling so I submitted the claim. The claim was assigned to Five Star Heating and Cooling. The response time was actually very good. They were here the next day. That’s where the good ends. The technician was here less than 30 minutes basically looked around and supposedly did a refrigerant pressure check and came back and told me I had a leak and there was nothing else they could do until they were approved for a leak check and they would let me know if it was approved. I was not comfortable with his assessment so I called All Season AC & Heating for a 2nd opinion. The technician was here the next day and spent over an hour going thru the system. Cleaned and serviced the system and checked all connections. My AC has worked fine ever since. No refrigerant leak, if anything the unit was slightly over serviced. I went in to write a complaint and saw the repair was approved two weeks after the initial claim. I could only imagine how miserable we would be two weeks after the fact with temps exceeding 90 degrees. Based on response times and the quality of Choices technicians in the Tampa area, please do not use Choice if you are looking for a Home Warranty Company.

Been without AC for 6 weeks. One company never showed up. The next one put on a new compressor and hooked it up wrong. Now the compressor is damaged and I can't get him to come back. Choice says call and make an appointment. He says he'll try to get to it soon. The 3rd company was very good. I saw with my eyes how it was hooked up wrong. I'd love for him to come back.

I have had pretty good experiences with Choice Home Warranty but when my air conditioner went out they refused to replace it indicating that it was not maintained properly. My central air and conditioning is maintained twice a year, has been this way for over fifteen years. We have filters automatically shipped every three months so their reason for not replacing my unit was absolutely scandalous. The first repairman they sent out was at my home for over an hour, doing all sorts of diagnostics. He wrote a report sent in pictures and said the unit was old and needed to be replaced. They then sent a second guy from another company that was at my home for less than 10 minutes. They then came back and said they were denying my claim. I then had an independent service guy come out and he said the unit was worn it was over twenty five years old and needed to be replaced. I then contacted the mfg of the unit and he said the life expectancy of my systems was 13 -15!years so considering it's held up for 25!years is great but it worn out and I will continue to have problems. With all of this info still no luck. I give them a zero for how they managed this call and would not recommend them to anyone based solely on how this one call was handled..

Upon review of your specific claim, the failure that occurred to your unit, is not “Included” in accordance with the terms and conditions of our policy. Although this type of failure wasn’t covered under our policy terms, this is only 1 out of the 15 systems and appliances in which we provide coverage.

What you provide is not clearly explained by your sales force. My water heater went out and you don't cover the tank. My clothes washer went out and you did not replace it but instead gave me $200. The wait for a technician is very long.

It will take like more than 1 hour for the customer service to pick up the call on existing claim which I do not like. My AC unit broken and I filed a claim. The whole process was very tedious and it was not at all satisfactory. Moreover the rep who spoke to me regarding my claim was very rude he was like talking like a dictator and he didn't even want to listen to me. The technician came in and he confirmed that it needs to be replaced. It was a very hectic painful process, especially with minor kids in the home and also a pet. I will tell my friends that they definitely should not use choice home warranty because the service is horrible.

They were the most reasonable. Claims are processed and sent out in a timely manner, but if they can get out of paying a claim they will. I've used my warranty several times. Sometimes they didn't pay and sometimes they did.
