Do not use this Home Warranty Company if you live in the Tampa Florida area!!! I had Choice Home Warranty in Charlotte, NC. Service was great and the technicians were very competent and operated with honesty and integrity. Because of that experience, I decided to use Choice when I moved to Tampa. That turned out to be a big mistake. My home in Florida is an older home so I have had a few more issues that I did in Charlotte. Response time in Charlotte was excellent, here fair. The bigger issue is the level of technician expertise. Of the claims filed, I have only one technician I felt comfortable with and for all 3 AC repair claims, I had to call another company to actually fix the problem. My latest experience with an AC service call is what prompted me to finally write a review. My AC was cooling so I submitted the claim. The claim was assigned to Five Star Heating and Cooling. The response time was actually very good. They were here the next day. That’s where the good ends. The technician was here less than 30 minutes basically looked around and supposedly did a refrigerant pressure check and came back and told me I had a leak and there was nothing else they could do until they were approved for a leak check and they would let me know if it was approved. I was not comfortable with his assessment so I called All Season AC & Heating for a 2nd opinion. The technician was here the next day and spent over an hour going thru the system. Cleaned and serviced the system and checked all connections. My AC has worked fine ever since. No refrigerant leak, if anything the unit was slightly over serviced. I went in to write a complaint and saw the repair was approved two weeks after the initial claim. I could only imagine how miserable we would be two weeks after the fact with temps exceeding 90 degrees. Based on response times and the quality of Choices technicians in the Tampa area, please do not use Choice if you are looking for a Home Warranty Company.

Been without AC for 6 weeks. One company never showed up. The next one put on a new compressor and hooked it up wrong. Now the compressor is damaged and I can't get him to come back. Choice says call and make an appointment. He says he'll try to get to it soon. The 3rd company was very good. I saw with my eyes how it was hooked up wrong. I'd love for him to come back.

I have had pretty good experiences with Choice Home Warranty but when my air conditioner went out they refused to replace it indicating that it was not maintained properly. My central air and conditioning is maintained twice a year, has been this way for over fifteen years. We have filters automatically shipped every three months so their reason for not replacing my unit was absolutely scandalous. The first repairman they sent out was at my home for over an hour, doing all sorts of diagnostics. He wrote a report sent in pictures and said the unit was old and needed to be replaced. They then sent a second guy from another company that was at my home for less than 10 minutes. They then came back and said they were denying my claim. I then had an independent service guy come out and he said the unit was worn it was over twenty five years old and needed to be replaced. I then contacted the mfg of the unit and he said the life expectancy of my systems was 13 -15!years so considering it's held up for 25!years is great but it worn out and I will continue to have problems. With all of this info still no luck. I give them a zero for how they managed this call and would not recommend them to anyone based solely on how this one call was handled..

What you provide is not clearly explained by your sales force. My water heater went out and you don't cover the tank. My clothes washer went out and you did not replace it but instead gave me $200. The wait for a technician is very long.

It will take like more than 1 hour for the customer service to pick up the call on existing claim which I do not like. My AC unit broken and I filed a claim. The whole process was very tedious and it was not at all satisfactory. Moreover the rep who spoke to me regarding my claim was very rude he was like talking like a dictator and he didn't even want to listen to me. The technician came in and he confirmed that it needs to be replaced. It was a very hectic painful process, especially with minor kids in the home and also a pet. I will tell my friends that they definitely should not use choice home warranty because the service is horrible.

Had American Home warranty and the price for the person to come to your house was lower with Choice Home Warranty so I gave it a try. The service was good and the gentleman was fantastic but I had to wait an extra day to get my air conditioning fixed, in Las Vegas, to get approval. I never had that happen before.

I loathe them. I needed a new water heater, and they were aware of that and, for weeks, made one excuse after another to delay purchase of same --- during which time I, a disabled senior heart patient, went without any hot water for either a bath or shower. Finally, they approved my new water heater, then informed me that I would have to pay $455 for a series of "non-covered charges" that would be owed to the technician. They refused to offer a cash-out instead, and told me that if I declined to pay the $455 out-of-pocket expense, I wouldn't get a new water heater. Avoid this company like the plague! They are nothing but a rip-off and scam!

About two to three months ago we had a hot water issue and the guy came out and did a nice job and then when we had an air conditioning problem, they turned us down. When they get things fixed it is good but when they don’t it is not.

When I bought the house, the previous owner had it already and pair for it. We have used it multiple times. I had an issue with my water disperser and they came out and fixed it right away. I had an issue with the AC and they said it was not covered.

Choice is cheaper than the others. I don’t believe they have the best contractors. I needed a contactor to work on my air conditioning and instead of doing what he needed to do and telling me what they were doing, he turned off my power and it was hot in my house at night. When I asked why, they said so it wouldn’t break.

Coverage is misleading. I had to replace my washer and dryer after one year. CHW would only allow $400 for a new dryer and $450 for a washer. They said that's what they could buy them for, but in shopping around I didn't find anything near those prices. My units were stackable and gas. My air compressor went out on my HVAC unit. They would not pay for the replacement part, only the haul off and replacement Freon. Not great experiences with this company.

Very poor customer service - I had issues with my refrigerator . I called choice home to schedule an appointment but they kept giving me the run around and for about two weeks I couldn't get anyone to come see my refrigerator because they kept putting in the wrong phone # to the service tech and they could never get through to us . We called customer service several times but could never understand them they all sound foreign and didn't understand them. I finally got to talk to a supervisor in Florida to make sure they had our phone # right and tech person can come out to see our refrigerator. Long store short they couldn't find one of the parts so now they said they would have to pay us out on our refrigerator _Ÿ__â€ç♀ï¸è. Now we wait for our prorated refund . ....

Wish they could react a little bit sooner on some cases. I am surprised when a vendor doesn’t reply quickly to my requests. I know that it isn’t Choice’s fault. I think they give me a good deal. I have had some plumbing problems, a garbage disposal that needed fixing, and a kitchen faucet replaced.

The have very poor customer service. Technicians cannot speak with a human concerning a claim, and policy holders cannot either. My te hnician and I are STILL waiting on a replacement part that is covered under the warranty. It has been 1 month and neither of us have heard ANYTHING. I switched to Choice from First American Home warranty because if this company's past ratings. My experience as been horrific and I will be switching back at the end of this contract. I paid for the full year upfront. I will NEVER do that again...and thankfully I did not get reeled in to their 2,3 and 5 year coverage at a discounted rate. I highly advise

I’ve had issues on both end of the spectrum. Getting something done is good. My air conditioning went out and within two days I had somebody fix it, that was perfect. Signing up was disaster and there are too many exclusions. The plumbing is not covered. I was lied to in the beginning so my price was lowered.
