Customer service people are pleasant to work with and they do a good job finding people to come out and take care of the problems though it can be difficult to find a technician to who is willing to come to the house.

Most of the service companies they order for you are not good. I have had them come back numerous times for different claims. These appear to be third rate service companies. Most of the service people are rude. It takes calling and screaming about getting things fixed correctly. All the service person is concerned about is getting their fee the minute they walk in the door. Also, Choice does not allow them to fix something immediately. They need to call Choice and then wait for an answer. This can take a very long time. Some have had to come back because Choice will not give them an answer immediately or Choice does not even answer them. I wanted to cancel since I signed up for five years, and they told me I would owe them money because they would price out every little service claim that was done in my home.

It’s a good value and it gives me a peace of mind. When our air conditioner wasn’t performing well, the repairman came out and fixed it and I was only charged for a service call. They are very courteous and responsive.

It's like a hit or miss with Choice. I never know what I'm going to get. I recently called for a leak in my bathroom. A plumber came out to diagnose the problem and kept postponing the time when he was scheduled to come and fix the leak. He said he would have to tear a hole in my ceiling to fix it. I called Choice to send another plumber when I got tired of waiting for him to show up. Another plumber was assigned the job. When I spoke to him on the phone he said he was coming out between 3-8 pm. He Showed up around 8:30 pm. He spent less than 5 minutes in the bathroom and said that it looks like the problem was coming from water on the flop from my shower. He collected the service fee and told me that he would be back the next day at 10:00 am. Needless to say, he never showed up and he never called either. I ended up calling a plumber that I found on the internet and he came out within 45 minutes and he fixed the leak. He didn't have to tear a hole in my living room ceiling and there wasn't a problem with my shower. I don't know where Choice is getting these people from. I won't renew my contract with Choice again.

We have been working with them on fixing some electrical issues. The company who's name they gave us repair 2 outdoors outlets they wanted us to get fixed before they approved the other. I sent the receipt they gave 2 times, but they say it has to specify what was fixed. This was all they gave us. We are frustrated and don't know why the outdoor itrms(which they won't fix anyway has anything to do with the inside switches we need replaced).

Recently got a sump pump that was installed in a timely fashion. Most of the jobs are done well but there are some bad contractors they had working for them before but lately it has been pretty good. I was disappointed they didn’t cover my hot water tank.

I put in a claim to get my ice maker fixed on my refrigerator last October and it has not been a good experience. Every other time I've used the warranty it has been good but the ice maker it's still not fixed. The appliance people keep not showing up or calling and telling me they're not coming.

Overall, they have good customer service. However, I requested that my air conditioner be replaced and I did not get a confirmation on that, I just got a denial which I was not very pleased about. I ended up having to spend fifteen thousand dollars on an air conditioning system.

I had a claim that never got done for my ice maker. So it’s like I paid the fee for nothing. Now the fridge and freezer have completely stopped working and they scheduled someone 5 days out. I’ve lost hundreds of dollars in food and after the person finally comes and I have to pay another fee, I have to wait for an answer and a repair again! Meanwhile, I have spend extra money on feeding my household with takeout.

We called them because my sink was leaking and the person that came fixed some problem but that wasn't the problem. The next day when I turned on my garbage disposal, my sink was leaking very badly, because he didn't check the right thing. Then, they charged us twice for this same problem when he came to fix it the next day. I'm very unhappy, and I feel cheated because I got charged twice for the same problem that he didn't fix the first time.

My experience with Choice Home Warranty is sometimes very negative, sometimes very positive. I had somebody out to fix my refrigerator once and he was so wonderful. I told him I wanted him again for my dryer and he was wonderful. Everybody else in between has not been good. They keep fixing my toilet putting plastic parts in, then in a few months they go out agian, then I have to pay another 60 dollars service fee to have more of the same parts that break and when I could have paid for my own toilet and it would have been less expensive. Their customer service is always pleasant, however, I've had some very bad experiences--not with the customer service--but with with getting competent people out here. For example, I needed to use it today. I called them at 7:30 in the morning. They said that there would be no problem sending a plumber out today and that I would receive a call. I received an automated call telling me that they're going to come March 11, when I do not have a toilet to use. So I called up customer service and I said that isn't acceptable. He said, "well that's who picked it up and if nobody else picked it up before him then that's all that's available." Well, I don't use the warranty company to book something a week in advance when I need help right away or within the next day or two--which they are supposed to provide. However, they did not. Why did they book a week out when I said that it's an emergency and I need service? So what good is a warranty company if they're not going to get somebody out here when I need them. I pay a lot of money and I could get handy man to do this and probably cover the 60 dollars fee that I pay them anyway, so why am I paying for this warranty service? I am going to seriously think of canceling. I've been with them for years and there always seems to be a problem. When there was a problem with with my air conditioner, the man didn't know how to fix it, so I called twice but that was the only company they would give me. They said I paid once and that he has to come out again--well, he didn't know what was the matter with it so why why would I want him again?--so I would have to pay them 60 dollars again to come to send somebody else out. This is not acceptable.

One of the times I used it was terrible, the other was great. The first time it was the water heater and their service representative fraudulently told me I needed to have my hot water tank replaced and a whole bunch of things had to be done and quoted me fifteen hundred dollars and when I looked at it, the pipe and merely burst and it was a two hundred dollar repair. None of it was covered and I had to pay out of pocket. The second experience was much more pleasant. The technician came out for the air conditioner and he was extremely professional and very thorough. All was well.

I had a home warranty program before that I was not happy with the way they settled their claims. Choice had a better price. I don’t like that I get referred to companies who are way far away when there are companies much closed but I was happy with my last service call.

Support is always very courteous and they are usually quick to respond. The only thing I don’t like is the limit coverage. I’ve had several calls where things were not covered and it was frustrating. I’ve had good contractors when I do get service.
