I have had AHS for many years. I've use them several times. Most of the time I've been very satisfied. I don't like how they only pay for a portion of Freon for Central Air. I'm now paying someone else several hundreds of dollars to replace my septic tank pump because it's not covered by AHS. Very disappointed in this. It's still part of my home property but not covered.

That's what I tell the last time I take the survey. Before the service only takes about 2 to 4 days the equipment is fixed then the last few years it takes about almost 2 weeks to fixed. Thats what I experience to the American Home Shield now.

I’ve had a positive experience every time I’ve needed a service request (2) during the past year. The customer service reps were very helpful and the contractors were prompt and very professional. I’ve been able to schedule an appointment within 24-36 hours after the request is submitted and always pleased with the contractors.

Like medical insurance, you hope you never need it, but when things go south, you are so glad you have it. Only contacted them once and they handled everything. This is a split decision the first time I get service through American home shield it was to fix my stove the repair person came by inspected the stoves gave us a date when he will repair them came on that day punctual on time fixed both my stoves did an excellent job I was very pleased the guy was very professional and respectful. Here in lies the dilemma I then had to call American home shield once again Because I had an issue with my boiler they sent a repair man he inspected the repair man told me it needed to be replaced he would put the information in to American home shield I received a call a day later from a lady name Tanya From American home shieldwho left a message on my phone telling me that my service was completed and my boiler was replaced now I would like to know how does a repair man come one day and then the next day the service is completed and the boiler is fixed that’s not possible .. If that was an oversight on her part then they needed to correct that ..I then called American home shield and asked The representative the same question when they checked they also thought that the boiler was replaced The service man explained to them that my boiler could not be repaired it had to be replaced . Nobody gets a Boiler replaced in one day.. after talking to the Representative and informing her that no work was done and I was told I needed to get a new boiler she then told me that the approval department was looking into it .. A couple of days later I called to find out what the situation was and was told that they could not approve me for a new boiler because mine was already damaged but wasn’t that the reason the service man had to come to my house in the first place I would not have requested service for a boiler that was working .. American home shield claims to be good don’t be good be better people out there depend on you my contract is up in a year I do not think I will renew it.. I received a new boiler from Petro My oil company with a 10 year warranty so I am covered and I am good thank you for your business..

I absolutely hate calling AHS but the website makes the request for service quick and easy. The only think]g I do not understand is that the last two times I have requested service they assign two different companies. This creates confusion. However, my problems have been resolved in both instances. It just takes multiple phone calls to get it all figured out.

My water heater wasn't working properly. Water would start hot and get cold quickly. I requested service online and a plumber called within an hour to set up a day and time to come and check it out. He diagnosed and fixed it quickly and professionally. I highly recommend AHS!

Going with 4 stars for now. That varies from 5 on some calls to 2 on others. Over the years it has paid off as we have an expensive range, dishwasher, and freestanding ice maker. While they are generally very reliable, from time to time they have issues and the prices for repairs are absurd. Think Audi in the auto world. Back in November we had a door switch on the microwave replace. Almost exactly 90 days later it happened again. But their warranty period is 60 days, so another copay for the same issue. That would be my 2 star.

Three timesI had to wait a very long time before a item that was broken in my home was fixed. The first time I waited over a month for a company that looked at my central air conditioner. The air conditioner needed to be replaced it stoped working in the beginning of the summer. I was with out air conditioning until the end of summer. Due to the fact the first contractor they sent out never got back to American Home Shield for over a month. Finally American Home Shield sent out another contractor. After I kept on calling them. The second time was at my vacation home. I needed to have my boiler replaced. AHS sent out a contractor who took a month to contact AHS to tell them I needed a new boiler. That was with me and AHS contacting him daily. I decided to use another contractor because the first one they sent was not competent for the job. The third time was with my microwave. AHS sent the first contractor over he ordered parts and I never received the parts. I called Sears daily and weekly I always received the same story they ordered the parts but have no idea when they will come in. Then they even canceled the order and never notified me. AHS decided to send another contractor. I do not fault AHS I just fault their choice for contractors. Three separate times I had to have two deficient contractors sent to home taking a few months to fix. There has to be a easier way for the customer and AHS.

The same day we had a major snowstorm, which impacted the contractor's travel plans! The AHS rep. worked with me and the contractor to get our refrigerator repaired. My water heater blew out 7am Saturday morning and within 4 hours I had a plummer diagnosis the problem. Regrettably I needed a new broiler. AHS approved the installation; I had a new broiler by Tuesday. Blessed with the service.

Recently i had a non-functional cooktop. After a few attempts to repair, the technician suggested that the unit be replaced with a new one. The AHS suggested that we accept their choice or get our own. They atd supposed to send the reimbursement for the unit. That is great service.

Prompt in replacing microwave, but there was not an installer in my area and they never got back to me on who could install. Finally hired contractor to install and they said they would cover up to $125 of install fee. Wish I would have heard from them before I hired contractor. They said the check is in the mail. I'm sure they will follow through, but just waiting for check. Only thing they could have done better was to call me back, like they said they would (Dante) to tell me to hire someone as they did not have anyone they could send.

I had/always have a good experience with AHS. I went online Monday afternoon to get a request for service. I got a call, text and email from AHS and the service provider scheduling the appointment right away. The service provider came out, diagnosed the problem and was able to install my new furnace the next day.

I had a very hard time at first to get AHS to agree to send another service company to come and repair my refrigerator. I am very pleased with the results. My refrigerator is working, they were professional, on-time and cleaned up once the job was complete.

My work is a RECAll. I had a garbage disposal removed and new one install. It is now making a horrible noise and something sounds like it is coming loose in it! Your company is sending repairman back again to fix the problem.

I have used AHS twice and both times they have taken care of the problem in a very timely manner. One of which was my heating unit in the middle of winter. I will continue to be with them as they are professional and back their word.

I am writing this review about the second contractor you sent ONLY. This contractor was wonderful it took him maybe 30 minutes to fix the toilet and it has not leaked again since. He was every knowleable, and knew just what was wrong and fixed it. Please always send him if I have a plumbing problem.
