This rating is based on our last experience with replacing our stove top. Prior to that our experiences have been 4 to 5 stars. We have recommended your service to friends of ours for the last six years with several of them signing up and using American home shield. One of them has already left due to poor service and another one is seriously considering dropping your services. Basically in the process of getting our stove top return all I got from people answering the phone as apologies with no results. In fact of the three calls I made I received a different story every time and finally requesting a supervisor to speak to and was told she would call me back within the hour, which she never did. We know are seriously thinking of going to another insurance like company Again all of these readings are based on my latest experience with replacing my stove top

AHS has been responsive to most requests and has saved me money, but they refuse to reimburse me for the replacement of a washer that they could not repair. I am out nearly a thousand dollars because they keep trying to only pay part of the cost even though they gave me a higher figure to use when purchasing a replacement washer. I submitted all the needed documentation and each time I call they say they need to do 'research' and then never send out a check.

When I tried to actually use my warranty for a covered plumbing issue, American Home shield sent two different incompetent plumbers who couldn’t fix the problem. After that, they said they would give me authorization to hire my own plumber and they would reimburse me. But I was never sent the formal authorization, and the claim representative I had been working with stopped returning my emails and my calls despite multiple follow ups. My claim was eventually marked as completed even though the problem was never fixed and I was never given their authorization to hire my own plumber. Customer service also never got back to me to resolve the issue. It’s pretty hard to come to any conclusion other than this warranty is a scam. I had to just give up and hire my own plumber and pay out of pocket.

The last few times we have had to use AHS, we have had issues. Our freezer was supposed to be fixed, but ended up being denied and not one reached out to let us know. We recently had to have our hot water heater fixed and it took 4 times SAP, the company AHS chose to partner with, to get the new hot water heater installed. When I call AHS to get info because SAP was non-responsive no one at AHS seems to know what is going on. I asked for AHS manager to call me and NO ONE ever called.

After 2 months of trying to get someone to figure our what was causing our ceiling to leak, and us having to pay someone to cut into the ceiling, they quoted us $980 because the toilet was loosen by excessive force even though the plumber they contracted said it was normal wear and tear. After an additional 2 weeks and hours, no exaggeration, on the phone on hold, they said it wasn't covered and we would be held responsible for fixing the toilet and replacing the whole in our ceiling. I was 6 months pregnant and this was at the beginning of the pandemic so saying we were highly upset doesn't fully convey what we felt at the time.

Poor response time, partial fixes. I have waited one month to get a water heater fixed, no response from Veritable Plumbing. Called also to have a clothes washer fixed as it was making noise and dripping. The tech said he could fix the leak but not the issue with the noise. He said machine was not right but working. Call back when it stops working. The rekey was fine, just had to wait several days.

No more customer service. Always talking to a virtual asst in the Phillipines. I have 9 warranties on the homes I own and your vendors that you hire are thiefs. 90% of the time the $75 sc. is not enough. Always want more money and give ridiculous estimates to repair. I'm also a realtor with ERA Brokers Consolidated in Las Vegas and have been selling warranties for AHS to my clients for over 25 yrs. AHS is now under umbrella of Frontdoor. All warranty Companys suck in my Unprofessional opinion!

I submitted a repair request on my oven ay my rental property. First technician couldn't diagnose. Second technician was rude to property management staff using profanity so he was cancelled. Took AHS 13 days to schedule the third despite me getting on a live chat and phoning them wasting three hours of my time on hold. He didn't show for his scheduled slot and said he couldn't get there until 8:30PM so the tenants cancelled the appointment. I had to replace the unit because it had been three weeks and I was in violation of the state landlord tenant law and needed a quick solution. AHS refused to reimburse me for at least the repair estimate because I didn't obtain prior approval for a third party technician despite them violating the contract for timely scheduling.

They replaced my water heater with an inferior product. Now they won't communicate with me or rectify the situation. Only offshore call centers handling calls, so frustrating!! We can't even wash a dish and take shower without running completely out of hot water. I'm so disappointed. Plus their vendor/installer took me for an additional $660. They have been out here three times to fix my refrigerator and not it is doing the same thing again. Had to pay another $100 to get them to come out for the 4th time!!! Please contact me if you want the whole story on the water heater, it was as SHADY AS IT GETS!

The contractor messed up my water heater looking for the valve to shut the water off which was NOT even the reason I called!!! And they believe him when he said he didn’t😑 They told me in order to get it fixed or looked @ I would have to pay them $75! When it was NOTHING wrong with it before the plumber got there!! So now it’s under “investigation” I will update in 10 days that’s how long the investigation takes until then I’m mopping my floor from water!

I guess i should have red AHS fine print ...I had to pay over 1000 dollars because AC company you guys sent told me i need some new parts that according to their technician said i already had so that company gave me two different stories ..tech located in san antonio was very knowledgeble ...but the corporate person i spoke to was very rude he asked me questions that he knew i wouldnt know about AC and i answered and he said i was wrong ...of course i was wrong i am a radio person not AC person..very rude CHUCK was very rude ..I wish you and all home warranties would choose respectable companys that i see on the Teli instead you guys send companys that i have never heard of ....

The most expensive system you will replace is the HVAC. AHS will replace the unit with an exact model but you will be charged for modifications to install it. This cost could be upward of 2000 dollars. Also it takes a long time to get a service call complete.

1. Misleading: Was told at sign up that I could choose my contractors (not true at all). 2. Poor customer service: Have contacted customer service three times with promise by rep that there would be a call back. Never happened even when one rep gave me a specific time that I would receive a callback. 3. Terrible contracted service providers. Heat company came out and told me that the problem was due to poor maintenance and that AHS would not cover the issue so I would have to pay them myself (not true per AHS contract). They did not fix the problem. I paid an independent service provider to evaluate the issue (rotted heat exchanger). When asked the AHS provider admitted they had never checked the heat exchanger at either of its visits 4. Money waster - I paid $75 for the fraudulent service provider to come out. I paid $125 for an independent assessment. Now AHS is insisting on YET ANOTHER contractor come out to provide an opinion. I have had to take 4 days off of work for these shenanigans. I will have to take another day off for this new contractor (who has not called me to schedule despite being assigned to the project 48 hours ago. Oh, and when you call his number goes straight to voicemail which is full so I can't call then myself). The actual amount of dollars and time I have expended already is ridiculous and the problem is still unfixed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
