On a current claim to repair a clothes dryer, American Home Shield informed me that a part was ordered on September 4th and would be delivered on September 8th. It is now September 16th and the part has not been delivered yet. When I called American Home Shield to check the status of the part and the claim, I end up on hold for an hour and the Representative promises to follow up with me. Three Representatives from three different phone calls over five days and not one of them has followed up yet. A Supervisor was supposed to call me last Saturday but no one from American Home Shield has followed up with me at all. I have several contracts with American Home Shield and I plan on canceling them all and encourage anyone who is considering a home warranty with American Home Shield to find a different provider.

I had trusted AHS for years…I understand there are things not covered, but my last two experiences were very poor. It might have been better had there been any transparency, it might have helped, but I received to itemized bill, no breakdown of what I was paying for and what they were paying for…it all seemed very secretive. My latest issue was a bad water heater, which I thought was covered; the plumber replaced the supply lines, a little insulation, and a new water pressure control valve, so I expected to pay a bit extra…but $2600? Plus the $100 service fee? And the premiums going up to over $100/month? A few months earlier, I called about a leaking kitchen faucet. In the meantime I just bought a new faucet for him to install instead of trying to repair the old one…for some reason I ended up paying several hundred dollars extra for that, plus the $100 service fee and the price of the faucet. In both these cases I believe I could have done far better on my own. I feel that my premium money would be far better spent being saved up for eventual necessary services; therefore, I will now self-insure.

I have an issue with costumer service, I have a leaking kitchen sink Air Promaster my contractor saw the problem and said the kitchen faucet was unrepairable, this was a MOEN faucet, i called them for the warranty, they're sending a cylinder, I called AHS to confirm that they sending the part, i talked with Nelly & he said he'll call AirProMaster to confirm the work order, i did receive the part from MOEN yesterday 09/02/20(Wed), i called AirProMaster today 09/03/20(Thurs.) they said there's no work order, i was thinking that this was a recall, I called AHS & waited1hr.& 20 minutes to spoke to Natasha i gave all the info to confirm that i was the home owner, she said the work order has been closed, I told her how can it be closed, I have the part from MOEN, her customer service was low, I hanged up...

One contractor never showed up. The other denied me, until we got a second opinion - then it was approved, but still a pain. To be without hot water for 2 weeks is not good business. My AC repair (added Freon) was the only one that went well.

That was July 16 and August is now behind us and still no response. I have made numerous phone calls and no response. Very discouraging.

The first time I used them it went great. Water heater went out and was fixed in two days. Right now my gas cooktop is out and the company they assigned has not contacted me and I can only text them or leave voice mail. No response from them at all after 5 days. On top of that American Home Shield has no contact information except to sit on hold and wait 45 minutes to talk to someone I make approx $500 an hour. My time is worth more than their service especially when I pay them up front and get no action on their part or the referred service agent.

I was on hold for FOUR hours before someone took my call. English is not the primary language of those taking the calls. They read straight off of a script rather than having an actual conversation which would be much more helpful. I have never been contacted by AHS regarding my open claims. I have to continually call, only to be put on hold for hours.

Lack of communication/ knowledge and poor contractors. Took 3 days for someone to come out for a leak that should of been an emergency and he put a clamp on which made the pressure build causing 2 more leaks in other areas. He came back 2 days later and they wouldn't fix it because the pipes are welded. Took 9 days for my AC not working and 3 different contractors. 1st one had pins in his knee so he could crawl, 2nd one told me i should of had a ladder but since i didn't he couldn't get in the attic to access anything. He was actually supposed to come on a Friday but didn't show up until Tuesday. Don't honor what they advertise. I had a plumbing leak that's advertised as covered BUT they didn't cover it because of the pipes are welded

Have had AHS for five years, but this last service has been so complicated that we have realized AHS is not worth it. They have failed at providing capable and qualified contractors to fix the repair needed, and when contacting them they are not helpful at resolving the problems or concerned with the holding and contact transfers between representatives or the lack of customer service they provide. They have taken out deductibles without ever fixing the repairs. So I've wasted countless hours on hold, have had contractors no call and no show, deductibles taken without problem resolved, still have a clogged drain and a leak in the shower, and they don't want to lose my business.

i've been a paying member since 2014 & live in the same house &i have always covered my house/ pool. I have an in- ground pool w/an heater. I have never had an issue with my heater until now. ABNation came to my house on April 4th & Pete, from ABNation was supposed to check my heater, my pool for DE going back into the pool & that my pump had lost prime. He fixed the issue with the prime but never looked at my filter nor my heater. He only took a picture of my heater & left. Your company denied my heater to be fixed.-due to chemicals. When I called back to AHS,the person looked up my contract. I asked her if it said anything about denying the heater being fixed due to chemicals & she said there was no such mention of chemicals to deny getting it fixed. I asked for a second opinion. They sent Eden Pool out on (I think ) April 16th but they only took care of the DE issue & when I asked about the 2nd opinion on the heater-they responded that they were only to check the pool. To this day-no one has come out to give me a 2nd opinion to fix my heater-everyone has just blown me off like I don't exist. Every time I see your commercials & how if its broken AHS will fix it-my blood wants to boil. Please have someone fix my heater without giving me the run around like your commercial states. Practice what you advertise.

AHS took too long to call us back for a cash out option. 3 weeks. While we were waiting with a broken air conditioning in a 90 degree home. We called you 3-4 times after you sent us the technician. This company wanted to charge us a lot of money comparing the price we got from another company. The technicians you sent us wanted $15,000 for a new air conditioning. We got another estimate for $8,700.00 for the same thing. And you ended paying us only $1,100. after waiting for you almost a month in a 90 degree home.

I have been a customer for at least 30 years. The quality of their customer service has deteriorated badly over the last several years. The hold time for anything is at least 1 1/2 hours. Most of which is outsourced and the language barrier has been poor in most cases.at one time AHS would have Excellent ratings in all categories.

I switched to AHS because my payment randomly increased with my past company. I was told it wouldn't with AHS advertised on the website and over the phone, but that wasn't true this year it jumped 13 dollars. I've only used the warranty one time so far... the service was great the company that came out was amazing. The balloon payment is my only negative so far.

Everyone I know am friends with and those I have talked KNOW that any requests filed with American Home Shield will be denied. This plan was purchased by my sellers for any issues after I buy the house. Upon receiving the warrenty, I knew if I needed it you all would not honor the warrenty if anything went wrong. Well my AC needed replacement, I called- someone came out and GUESS WHAT, your company found every way to push the blame on everything that the warrenty will not cover. It is not surprise to me and knew your company would pulled this. I WOULD NEVER USE MY OWN MONEY to purchase ANY warrenty from your company!

It was very bad. They sent Technician, Vaughn to my home to fix ceiling, cut by plumber of AHS to find leak. The plumber fixed the plumbing leak, but requested AHS to send another technician to fix roof. The roof or ceiling technician wants $450 to fix damaged roof. I didn't agree as it is the responsibility of AHS to fix the roof cut by AHS plumber. I was on phone to talk to AHS over 3 hours and there was no answer from them. I was able to talk to AHS first time after 2 hour waiting. He promised to take car the issue. But now they are showing on their AHS web site that the work was completed. But nothing was done. I couldn't get hold of any body from AHS on phone after waiting hours on the phone. I don't know what to do ?. The ceiling was cut by them and not yet fixed after a week.

Klaus Nalley - Still waiting for a call on when we will get our new washer!

When I made the initial call it was great, serviceman came out same day. Said AHS would replace washer. Here it is over a week later and I have not gotten anything from AHS. After waiting for over two hours on the phone Tuesday I was finally told that I would get contacted. That the replacement department was still working on claims from 7/6. I just have to wait. Well, here we are three days later. Still not contact from AHS, not even a text, I've been on hold again from almost two hours. Tell me where to go get it, I'll pick it up myself! This frustration and aggravation is not what I pay you for!

Horrible customer service. Repairman out last week. States dishwasher is too old and costly for repairs so will report back to HSA for replacement and they will contact me within 2 days. Ha! Ya, right. So I attempt to call them. Customer service takes all my info from her scripted questions and then transfers me to the replacement department where I stay on hold for about 1 hour 14 minutes. Finally, hang up. Try again a little later. On hold about 1 hour and 6 minutes. Hang up . Next morning, I try again first thing; on hold for 1 hour and 36 minutes. Hang up. Try again later. On hold for 1 hour 17 minutes. Hang up. Call back and talk to sales department to cancel my warranty. It's supposedly good till the end of the month... I guess I have come to terms that I was bamboozled out of 2 years of monthly home warranty payments. I will never get the replacement dishwasher that I'm owed. Not without a fight. My brother in law is an attorney so I will discuss this with him. Just want everyone to be aware of this sham company and I will do my part to make it known.

Customer service is a big thing to me. It usually takes about an hour to speak to a person. Supervisors are never available. It appears they read a script and do not fully listen to your concerns. If the wait time for a contractor to come out is unacceptable for you, you have no other options. There is no corporate number to reach a person to voice concerns. I gave it two stars, because it is good to have for minor repairs that are not urgent. I recently requested service due to my air conditioner cooling and I was told they have 48 hours to get a contractor out to my home. I decided to pay for another contractor to come out sooner and was told they will only reimburse if they have no contractors that can come out within 48 hours. Of note, my air and heat goes out every year. They come and fix it, but it is an inconvenience when the temps are very low or very high. They have never suggested a replacement for it even though they have probably paid more in repairs over the years. I have had instances where the contractor does not show, which can happen with any company I suppose. I look at reviews on the contractors they send out and the majority of them have horrible reviews online. I recently had my garage opener serviced and the service was great, but that is a minor non-urgent problem.

Their service people are available fairly quickly and are professional. When something has to be replaced if it is of a higher quality it will be replaced with a smaller/cheaper or lower quality replacement.

Homeshield has it's benefits but it can go either way depending on your needs. I have had multiple service calls to my house to find out that they don't always fix everything. In some occasions they have arrived knowing they can't fix my problem but still got my deductible for showing up.

Call in wait time and hold time are poor . I prefer talking with an agent not sending emails. Monthly payments continue to increase. I was suppose to be credit for a 75.00 service charge but no credit. Yearly air conditioning and heating preventive maintenance I had to contact Greenway or another contractor to take care of those units

I have been an american home shield customer for about 20 years, I have two contracts ! My biggest complaint is the time I spend trying to contact a person. Once contact is made the current process works well.

They lack customer service. I purchased the plan at what was to be a discount however; I was charged the full rate. When I called to dispute the full charge, I was placed on hold for 55 minutes two different times. I attempted to chat via their website but it does not work. When I finally spoke with someone, I was told that I was given the discount (I was not). I was told that the contract would be mailed and then I was told it would be emailed then I was told I would receive it after the contract was active. Some of the vendors that they use provide worse customer service than AHS. I was given a window of 8am to 2pm for service. I called at 1:45 asking for an update and was advised that the technician had four people ahead of me. Their office said they would call with an update. I called again at 4:45 and reached a recording that their office closed at 3:00pm. The technician showed up at 6:15 and spent about 15 minutes trying to sell me on purchasing additional services from his company that are not covered by AHS. I did receive great service from another vendor.

I'm giving them to stars instead of one just because we were at least able to get our refrigerator fixed. Recently had a contractor come out and refused to even touch our oven because it did not have a barcode or serial number on it. Our home was purchased with it that Way in our home was brand new. Called into the customer service line to get assistance and the representative could not answer any of my questions. She kept repeating himself over and over again as if he was reading from a script. I had to also wait for an hour and a half just to be able to speak to someone. It's unacceptable.

I have a policy purchased by the home seller we have used them several times the wait time on the phone has always been between 38 minutes to 1 hour and 25 minutes, a maddening experience. Their customer service people are not empowered to make decisions and give the same canned excuses that they have to research and call you back in 24-36 hours and no one ever calls back. Then the process starts all over again with waiting on hold after 36 hours to resolve an issue. The only good part about working through this is the service call is relatively inexpensive and the contractors they use are knowledgeable. But be ware, if you have a problem you will have a nervous breakdown trying to get it resolved. Thus far we have had 3 problems with the company itself, not the technicians and AHS is a nightmare to work through
