The plumbing contractor was looking for a big money job. He had a lot of good suggestions. However, what he said to me and what he wrote on the estimate were 2 very different things. AHS doesn't want to cover my systems because"its not normal wear and rear? That's highly subjective. And an excuse to not cover basic services. Very frustrated. The only good one was the rekey. Otherwise, Im wasting my time and hundreds of dollars.

"My request was submitted on May 12. Today is June 15 and I still have no resolution. I have been given the run around by ProTech Appliance. They have been full of excuses. After reaching out on June 14 to AHS I finally received an email with a repair date of June 23rd which is more than a month from the initial repair request. This has been a terrible experience. ProTech is located in Conroe over an hour away. There are many reputable appliance repair companies in Houston, TX alot more accessible to my area."

Quick initial response after appliance issue. However, problems were not correctly diagnosed or resolved for over a month. After a month a replacement was recommended but only one 'feature matched product' was offered and it was conveniently out of stock. All similar level items had an associated 'upgrade' charge and customer service was completely inflexible and unhelpful. I m still waiting for an appropriate replacement to be in stock.

Refrigerator still not fixed, called home shield 3 times to ask why GE hasn't fixed it. Was told I would get a call back which I never did. Last call last week I was told GE didn't fix my frig but came to service my microwave which isn't true since I have a brand new microwave. So now there is an investigation but I'm not holding my breathe for a call back. I will be canceling my contract after this month.

I had a horrible experience. I recently put a claim in for my whole house fan. It started great within two days A company by the name Jaeger came to check out fan. The guy looked at the fan for five minutes then said he would be in touch regarding the fan. He didn't say much more than that. About three days later I get an email from AHS warranty stating they WILL NOT COVER THIS ITEM. The whole reason I bought into this warranty was for things like this. The woman I spoke with said it was denied because of how the company Jaeger explained how the fan broke. Obviously I was upset since I didn't break the fan it wore down until it stopped working, hence the WARRANTY. the woman at AHS said I could get a second opinion but I would have to pay the deductible again. Horrible, a warranty needs to fix things that are covered regardless of how things were stated.

I am not happy with how I am being treated by AHS and United Air Temp. I was charged $100 each for 2 service requests, one of them was to have a hard start capacitor put in, which cost me $175 that I had to pay out of pocket. The other $100 charge was for the service request I put in to get my hot water tank checked. The Air Temp person was scheduled to come out to my home to look at the hot water tank on 6/3/22, but they never showed up nor did I get a phone call. I ended calling AHS letting them know what happened and they rescheduled my appointment for 6/14/22, but the same thing happened, no call and no show. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get someone out to my house to look at my hot water tank. This whole process is not easy and I feel like I deserve my $200 back that I was charged when I initially put in the service requests.

My expectation was that having AHS warranty would save me major out if pocket costs on home repairs which is not the case. I'm practically buying a new ac unit that has been holding on with replacement parts and freon that is outdated, yet my home warranty doesn't cover it. I'm disappointed. Also given conflicting info about what is our isn't covered with the first saying she believes it will be fully covered, only to have a "manager" call to tell me all that isn't covered. Shameful and obviously saving money for AHS at the policy holders expense. I'm looking for a better home warranty company

1 month in February w/o hear before my heater was fixed. Days this June w/o AC and still waiting. I am a customer w/AHS for over 15 years. I will cancel my contract my also after service calls, my monthly contract goes up by at least 10%. I am paying now $90 monthly and each service call I pay $75. Customer Service folks are rude and nasty. The barely speak English and extremely hard to understand .. AHS orders parts for fixes with no ETA. They don't allow me to purchase parts myself and pay for myself. I am told that if I do they would not warranty the service. While most parts are available online

I've had very mixed experiences. Some issues have been resolved very easily but with my air conditioning I was repeatedly sent incompetent contractors and charged me for multiple visits for the same issue. It actually took years to resolve and we went a whole summer without Air conditioning while my wife was sick and pregnant. I called many times and tried to escalate the issue and get reimbursed for all the charges but to no avail. When my contract expires I will be finding a new home warranty company

Coverage started late, wasn't available when I needed emergency service in my new home. Fight to get coverage to start LATE but it sure ended right at the date it wasn't active 1 year later. Difficult to get answers from overseas call centers. Overcharged, difficult to get refund. Appliance program was worthless as they had no brands I actually wanted to purchase. Not worth the money, glad the seller paid and not me.

I had a plumbing issue, my floors were still not in after hurricane Ida. The company they sent out said AHS would not let them do anything because my floors were not in. They told me it was a problem with my toilet after I paid them $80 to run a clean out! In one week, my whole sewerage system was clogged. I had a broken pipe and had to have it dug out and replaced, costing me $8,500.00! I have been a customer of AHS for many years and have only used them a few times. I think their response about my problem was unwarranted.

This company is not urgent when it comes to urgent matters. Furthermore, they have no interest in helping provide a contractor who is willing to work. The entire company "American" home shield is actually ran by Phillipines line operators who do not provide actual asistance and have no supervisor who can override case by case determinations and are not reachable. This entire company appears to be a scam because they avoid paying for servicesat all costs. On a Monday night we discovered a blockage in our plumbing system, after plunging the toilets we found this was a real issue that required plumbers. We immediately contacted AHS who said tehy could get a plumber to come out the following day. we cleared work schedules to be available for the plumber. When the 1-star rated plumbers arrived they complained that they did not want to be there. They came with inadequate tools to resolve or diagnose the issue. When I contacted AHS to complain about the contractor they provided, they told me that we were stuck with a plumber who would not make themselves available outside of the hours of 11am and 1pm (always requesting a 1-5pm time slot). After many conversations with AHS about the problem not beng resolved because of the plumbers inadequacies (while we could not run any water through our pipes, no bathroom, no showers, no laundry, etc.) AHS did nothing to help. We finally had to find our own plumber who came out the same day we contacted them and diagnosed the problem immediately. We informed AHS that we needed a right now solution; AHS did not care and has not accomdated payment in any amount for the plumbing services we had to pay for out of pocket. AHS seems to purposely contract bad (1-star reviewed) companies to frustrate the customer into paying for services covered by the home warranty plan. This company is an utter joke, they have our premium paid in full due to a new home purchase, have collected the service fee $85 only to provide no help at all. They would not entertain reviewing the planned work from our own contractor prior to work being initiated to see if they would authorize the work. They ended up rejecting our claim based on false report (they never returned to finish diagnosis but nonetheless provided a "diagnosis" of our plumbing)provided by their contracted plumber. AGAIN! after raising this concern to AHS I was met with spending over 1 hour on the phone to be passed around to phone reps located in the Philipines and could never speak to an actual supervisor. I will make complaints with the BBB and reviews on all available platforms as I hope this is not happen to anyone else.

Technician said the motor for my AC unit was damaged by me after he told me he fixed my AC. He left the old part on top of my unit and it is still there. AHS has informed me that they will not fix my AC. We requested another technician and we are still waiting. I have had no AC in my house since Sunday. It is 99 degrees in my house right now. I have been a loyal customer and recommend AHS to all my friends and now that my AC need repair and I was denied. The technician said that he was doing what AHS told him to do. I am upset and disappointed with the service that I received. I am still waiting for a technician to call or for AHS to call me.
