Coverage started late, wasn't available when I needed emergency service in my new home. Fight to get coverage to start LATE but it sure ended right at the date it wasn't active 1 year later. Difficult to get answers from overseas call centers. Overcharged, difficult to get refund. Appliance program was worthless as they had no brands I actually wanted to purchase. Not worth the money, glad the seller paid and not me.

Seemingly after you pay your $100 fee for the service call, there really is very little that can be done while the plumber in this case is there, they have to take pictures and send a request in for permission to do repairs.

I've had very mixed experiences. Some issues have been resolved very easily but with my air conditioning I was repeatedly sent incompetent contractors and charged me for multiple visits for the same issue. It actually took years to resolve and we went a whole summer without Air conditioning while my wife was sick and pregnant. I called many times and tried to escalate the issue and get reimbursed for all the charges but to no avail. When my contract expires I will be finding a new home warranty company

It depends. Pure Pool did an excellent job. Active Appliances is unfortunately not competent & tech lied to AHS and filed a false report, because the tech did not know what to do & admitted that to me. Appreciated AHS 2nd opinion being sent. Trinity Appliances fixed my refrigerator.

I had a plumbing issue, my floors were still not in after hurricane Ida. The company they sent out said AHS would not let them do anything because my floors were not in. They told me it was a problem with my toilet after I paid them $80 to run a clean out! In one week, my whole sewerage system was clogged. I had a broken pipe and had to have it dug out and replaced, costing me $8,500.00! I have been a customer of AHS for many years and have only used them a few times. I think their response about my problem was unwarranted.

Contractor's first visit was prompt. Haven't seen them since. They say the air handler needed is not available. It has been two weeks now! Required payment up front and haven't seen them since. Would not recommend AHS use this contractor. Required payment for parts and still don't have!!le. It has now been two weeks!

Technician said the motor for my AC unit was damaged by me after he told me he fixed my AC. He left the old part on top of my unit and it is still there. AHS has informed me that they will not fix my AC. We requested another technician and we are still waiting. I have had no AC in my house since Sunday. It is 99 degrees in my house right now. I have been a loyal customer and recommend AHS to all my friends and now that my AC need repair and I was denied. The technician said that he was doing what AHS told him to do. I am upset and disappointed with the service that I received. I am still waiting for a technician to call or for AHS to call me.

I put in a call on April 30 and was assigned a contractor and waited 2 weeks for the part to com in. After the contractor left my husband went to use the washer and still wasn't working. He called the company and was advise that they had to contact American Homesheild and that they would be in contact with me. After another 2 weeks not hearing from them I placed a call on 6/1 and was advise that it was my responsibility to have called you and that the contractor should of told me. Than she said that someone will call be within 24 hours of course I never got a call I am on the phone as I text you. I was advised that no guarantee they will find a contract and then the lady said they can't tell me when. I want my washer replaced it's been since April 31.

Prodigy came out within 10 minutes to fix my main board. The refrigerator still not work. Fan compressor on top not working showing an error not cooling he went out town 1st weekend then had to wait a week for new part. He was going out of town at 2 on Friday. I found this out on Friday. I called him 3 times on Thursday never returned my call. Some he was leaving earlier I asked for tracking would not provide hot mad I asked & said was not going to fix. I have been without a refrigerator going on 3 weeks now. It was daughter graduation this weekend. We had family & needed for party. He send the part back instead bring by now waiting another week for some to come out. Not good customer service

This company is not urgent when it comes to urgent matters. Furthermore, they have no interest in helping provide a contractor who is willing to work. The entire company "American" home shield is actually ran by Phillipines line operators who do not provide actual asistance and have no supervisor who can override case by case determinations and are not reachable. This entire company appears to be a scam because they avoid paying for servicesat all costs. On a Monday night we discovered a blockage in our plumbing system, after plunging the toilets we found this was a real issue that required plumbers. We immediately contacted AHS who said tehy could get a plumber to come out the following day. we cleared work schedules to be available for the plumber. When the 1-star rated plumbers arrived they complained that they did not want to be there. They came with inadequate tools to resolve or diagnose the issue. When I contacted AHS to complain about the contractor they provided, they told me that we were stuck with a plumber who would not make themselves available outside of the hours of 11am and 1pm (always requesting a 1-5pm time slot). After many conversations with AHS about the problem not beng resolved because of the plumbers inadequacies (while we could not run any water through our pipes, no bathroom, no showers, no laundry, etc.) AHS did nothing to help. We finally had to find our own plumber who came out the same day we contacted them and diagnosed the problem immediately. We informed AHS that we needed a right now solution; AHS did not care and has not accomdated payment in any amount for the plumbing services we had to pay for out of pocket. AHS seems to purposely contract bad (1-star reviewed) companies to frustrate the customer into paying for services covered by the home warranty plan. This company is an utter joke, they have our premium paid in full due to a new home purchase, have collected the service fee $85 only to provide no help at all. They would not entertain reviewing the planned work from our own contractor prior to work being initiated to see if they would authorize the work. They ended up rejecting our claim based on false report (they never returned to finish diagnosis but nonetheless provided a "diagnosis" of our plumbing)provided by their contracted plumber. AGAIN! after raising this concern to AHS I was met with spending over 1 hour on the phone to be passed around to phone reps located in the Philipines and could never speak to an actual supervisor. I will make complaints with the BBB and reviews on all available platforms as I hope this is not happen to anyone else.

I am going on 4 weeks without my refrigerator working. 4 parts later and 2 more today. I asked for buyout and they said they have to get a second opinion! this is ridiculous! contract says that you guys will replace if you cannot fix. does that mean after you replace every single part in it? 1 month is unacceptable for a refrigerator to be out. this is a high necessity. and if the parts they are replacing today don't work, then what? I am very disappointed in this "warranty" company!

Some good experiences, some bad experiences. Regarding the bad, I had to escalate to a manager and he did not provide me accurate information. Some contractors are better than others. I had to learn that the hard way. But overall, appliances are not made like they used to be and I have found it is necessary to have a warranty.

I had AHS for years on multiple homes. Used to love them but then they switched their customer service to out of the country and most do not understand English or AHS policies. Have to keep calling back until I get a rep that may understand. We got screwed with no warm water for a year due to this. It should not take 15 phone calls to get someone to understand. Also their quality of contractors has got really bad. I will NOT be renewing this year.

I called them and told them that my sump pump was not working. A few days later it began to rain. My entire furnished basement flooded. After 3 more weeks, I had to buy a sump pump and get someone else to replace it. The plumber didn't show up. They sent one for a SECOND opinion AFTER I had paid to have it repaired.

on the 1st 2 contracts I was charged and nothing was done. on that 2nd contract LA Appliance didn't even bother to show up, after several phone calls you finally assign the 2nd contract to another company and it got fixed. you guys are hitting about 33%.

For a fee they can arrange to have a service provider come to the customer's facility and repair an item. However, the service providers are very small companies who lack customer service skills, do not have inventory and when supplies/parts are needed, it takes them a great deal of time to receive and ultimate install them.

Horrible customer service and weeks for repair people to respond. Had to call over 5 times to customer service to get a response from Omni Appliance Repair. Called on the 20th of May, called back on May 25th and still washed is not repaired and there has been no follow up. I cancelled my service and that was the only time I spoke with someone I could understand. The repair person was extremely unprofessional and would not return calls or as I stated never fixed our washer. I cancelled American Home Shield and so did 2 family members. Pathetic service, follow up and and they don't do what they promise.

The contractor, Caldera, was beyond incompetent when it came to EVERYTHING. First, they wanted to give us a window of 5 hours - between 1 and 6 for the repair. Then told us that our burners needed to be replaced. After over a week, they sent another guy out who was supposed to be there at 5. At 7:40, I rcvd a text saying that he will be there shortly. This technician came WITHOUT THE BURNERS! And lied and said that they needed to be cleaned. Anyone know that you do not clean burners unless you are maintaining a furnace. My husband and I can clean the burners - so why would we pay for a technician to come out and do that?!

I had to call 6 times to resolve an issue. Every time, I was told it was taken care of; but it wasn't. We were with AHS 9 1/2 years at our previous house, & only once had a problem with them. I didn't even shop around before giving them the home warranty on our new house, because they gave such good service before. Now, I feel that I cannot trust them to do what they say they will do.
