I have an AIRBNB home and this system is great for what is needed to be sure there are no large parties and that the air conditioning or heating is not left on with the doors wide open. This system allows us to control the heating and cooling remotely and also gives custom door entry codes to guests that expire when they leave. I have no idea why this company has any bad reviews. I have had nothing but great things to say about vivint and our representative Lee here in Las Vegas.

I have some mixed emotions with them. When they first installed their equipment, they didn't remove my old security system. Instead they just put their equipment inside the existing security system. They explained to me why they used the existing equipment that was there because it would save me money, but I said in the long run that it would cause me problems. Recently, about 3 months ago, I had a lot of trouble with the equipment they had put up in the bathroom and also the smoke detector. The alarm went off incorrectly while I was at church and the Sheriff was at my house when I got home. This was because of some mistake Vivint made when installing the system. However, they replaced the equipment and fixed the problem so I don't have any trouble now.

The Las Vegas sales person was up front with me about the contract terms and cancellation process, if it should happen. The installers were friendly and went above and beyond in order to figure out the appropriate wiring for the thermostat, which was unique in a new house, compared to other installs. The team genuinely wanted to meet my needs, and nor did I feel the sales person tried to push items on me that I did not need.

I've been with Vivint just one week now. My sales person was forthcoming with information and options available. He was able to answer all my questions accurately. Within the first two days I had a false alarm caused by high winds on my roll-up garage door. Vivint response was fast and professional. AND a service person came out same day to re-install the door sensor. The control panel and APP in combination are fantastic and are operating without flaw. For the service I'm getting, the warranty on the equipment, I feel that the price point I chose is fair. I'm highly satisfied.

I have installed a system in my home and one in my fathers home. I have had the systems for 2 years now. I grade Installation A, they put things were they belonged. Service I give an A, they are extremely quick to respond to alarm breaks (cellphone notification, Smartphone App instant notification, home call and Email). Equipment I give an A, it is user friendly for sure and high quality. Troubleshooting I give an A, they are helpful when they get the call. Contract Agreement I give a C, longest contract I have of any service. You pay on this one and I am guessing because it is costly equipment. With good credit I did not pay for ANYTHING.No complaints. Probably the only complaint is that Vivint has left me on the phone a long time more than once. I mentioned my dad. I save the best for last. My dad has Dementia really bad. My Vivint system is one of my guardian angels besides my Caregiver! I could not manage his safety and my awareness if I did not have the system. I have shared this with many people who are going through what I am as a Caretaker. I use the APP on my phone and know when he gets up, when he goes to bed, when he moves anywhere in the house. I monitor his temperature in his home, automate locking up his home, control lights and set alarm notifications on my phone if any of my conditions or sensors are exceeded. I had this websites #1 Alarm Company and I am telling you for sure that I would place Vivint #1 because there was no comparison. Best of all, nobody can cut a telephone line that is not needed. If someone tried to disable it, you better be fast because help is on the way and you will get blasted by the deafening alarm. You best remember your password.

We've had VIVINT since 2013 : love how the monitoring talks into my home over the panels rather than calling my landline. My husband is a power linemen and all the road a lot so it's nice to know that in the event that I'm home and something happens someone could help me through any situation. My camera goes in and out sometimes but our sales person told us that it reports via our WiFi and our WiFi is always slower in the evening when everyone is using it. We have been Vivint Customer's now for quite a few years. They bought out our old alarm company that we had 1st signed up with. I had wanted the alarm system mainly for the medical alert function as my husband is a type 1 diabetic & I feel better knowing that if something happens he can just trigger the panel for help if he needs it. (haven't had to use it, but nice to know it's there). We are no longer under contract, we are just going month to month which I have verified through customer service multiple times. Every person I have come in contact with has been friendly & professional. Response time is very quick when an alarm is triggered (under 1 minute) & if they cannot get you on the phone or on the two-way panel, they will dispatch the police which has been sent out more than once due to one of our cats setting off the motion sensor in the house daily. We had a tech come out as they have said it should be fine with cats & thought it was faulty due to age, however after installing a new sensor & moving to to a new location, our new cat set it off again. We have since stopped using the motion sensor to avoid the false alarms. I will say, for years the motion sensor worked just fine with our other 2 cats in the house so I think it is just the fact that our 3rd cat is just way to active & likes to climb & jump off the top of the kitchen cabinets & hutch. Not really Vivint's fault. I like the fact that I do not need to have a land line for their service. There was some miscommunication when we switched to the full cell line only service as we needed a new panel & had to pay for that which we were not informed of. After talking to customer service, the issue was resolved to our satisfaction though. All in all, I am very happy with the service & when ADT came to the door trying to get us to switch, the sales guys with them even had to admit that the system we had installed was above what was normally given & the monthly pricing was lower than what was normally charged & better than what they could do for us. They were actually surprised.

I have a panel, two cameras and then I also have two door sensors as well. I am very pleased with my system. The only thing is I just think they should give their employees or techs a little more time to install their systems in these people's homes. I know they work by a point system and I also know that they give their installation team a certain allowed time. But a lot of the time these people don't understand how long it actually does take to install a system. So I think they need to actually get those people out in the field and let them see what it actually does take to get these systems installed. I think this would help things work a lot better for them and for their techs. But overall I believe Vivint is a very good company.

Best company I have ever seen. Had it for about 6 years now and they have always taken care of me. They come out whenever I have an issue and they actually waive the tech fee all the time. Moved the system to my new house and upgraded to cameras. Amazing system! They set a perimeter around my house with the cameras and I've had them for a few months now with no issues. I love he smart home aspect but yet vivint has called me every time the alarm goes off so I know they are watching over me. I love the peace of mind. Awesome system highly suggest!

There's only one small complaint and that would be with my aunt. She died a year ago in April and we cannot get Vivint to quit sending the bill to her. The alarm kept going off and all that kind of stuff and we still have not been able to get them do anything about it. So we finally just took the system out ourselves, but they continue to send the bill. Can't tell you why but we ain't paying it so it doesn't matter.

Great company. It was a Friday when my house got broken into, I was in the hospital at the time. Vivint's product caught the guy trying to get into my house while I wasn't there. Alarm wen5 off and scared him and the doorbell camera helped the police catch him. If my family had been home, instead of with me at the hospital, and if we'd still had our terrible ADT system, my family would have been at the mercy of that crackhead. God bless Vivint, and the salesman who sold us our system. He saved us money on a better system then most of our neighbors have, and it payed off.

I have had Vivint for 7years, I had another alarm company prior to this and it didn't compare to what i have experienced with Vivint. It has been an excellent journey, nobody is perfect like some would expect all to be. Issues that people experience can and will happen with any company, equipment can fail just like parts on a car. I have read all the negative reviews below but that is what most people like to post if there happens to be an issue. They are the most advanced technology driven security company in the US. i have signed and extended contract and will do again.

Because I'm at home alone most of the time, I needed to feel that security. Everything with Vivint has been exceptional. Every time I call them regarding an invoice inquiry or anything, they are able to answer my question, offer me deals, give me discounts, and offer support when I need it. I'd recommend them to any of our family member or friends that I know of that would like home security service.

We've been with Vivint for many years (even when they were APX). Have always been happy with them and their excellent customer service! We recently added an outdoor camera and had their Solar division put solar on our roof we currently have their camera/audible doorbell and 3 other indoor cameras along with their normal glass breakage, and door break in notifications. Can't say enough good about this company.

Everybody on hear complaining about the length of contact, be aware and ask questions. Been with his company for many years, product is second to none. Service is great never had an issue with techs or sales. Our sales guy was great and super informative. When paying $0 upfront you have to expect higher costs in the monthly it's a business, and I'm very happpy with!

Ive actually had a positive experience with Vivint!! Not sure what the other reviewers signed up for but I got the basic package plus a door bell alarm and it's been working just fine for me for 3 years now! I can verify any alarm on my phone, (they Triple ask you if you're sure you want to silence your alarm and if it's a false alarm). They call over the touch screen panel almost immediately to see if my family is okay and if we need the police and are always nice to us. Sad to read so many negative reviews about a product doing wonders for my family!

I have nothing but good to say about them. My system never had a problem. I had extremely fast response time and always good customer service. The only thing I am not crazy about is the length of the contract and it's in readability. Becomes a problem if you have to move in muddle and cannot take system with you. If they would make change to that or at least let you go month to month when contract period over I would give highest review

we have had Vivint for about 6 years now, we have it on two homes. I love the customer service, you get a lot for your money. I have had a few issues with sensors going bad, ect, they would send someone by to fix it or if it was an easy one I would have them send it to me, I would change it and call them and they would reprogram the system and test it. I would recommend Vivint to anyone. I have had friends look at our system and switch to Vivint from other companies because it would do more for less and is always expandable.

However I know we are new to this (we just signed up) but our sales service was awesome and set up was super fast. I would recommend the service. I do agree it is a little pricey and also lengthy contract but Im hoping it will be worth it! Since moving into our new home in December (6months) we have had a TON of solicitors and not just that but they have been after 800-830pm when it is dark. It was very scary for me being home by myself now I feel comfortable.

I was skeptical becuase of bad reviews but my grandmother has had Vivint for 8 years that she bought from a door to door sales rep so I went with it. I have been nothing but impressed with the customer service so I have no idea what some of these customers are talking about. Love the doorbell camera and the Google nest and the Amazon echo that allows me to control home with my voice. I don't think any other alarm company is partnered with those two.

Guys every alarm company has good and bad reviews. When do you ever have a good experience with an alarm company? Vivint has the BEST products out there and they will be protect your home like no other company. Yes their customer service could be better but that's the case with any big company. The most important thing is protecting your family and home and that is Vivint does.

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. I've used and seen a lot of different alarms and I've never enjoyed anything better than my experience with vivint's new stuff. The app, panel, key fob experience are all the same... Super easy to use and wonderful. I guess if people want to hate it just keeps them on their toes so I can get a constantly improving system with better results than any other company is even dreaming of being capable of. Oh, and the doorbell camera is the coolest feature ever! Keep it up vivint!

My father has had Vivint for years. I also had them when I had it in my own house. Thank you to Vivint! They are fast response to our house fire back in September of 2013 we only lost a lil bit of our stuff. The fire department got to our house before the fire spread past the living room. Also my husband and our family dog made it out alive cause of them!!!!! Thank u from the bottom of my heart Vivint!!!

Contract- We have no contract; quit anytime. Service- They have always answered our questions immediately and completely. The area rep is here anything we ask. Rate- $39.99/mo for monitoring - our only cost. Features- System can be programmed to do anything we want. The Bad- Does not have Siren/Horn, only monitoring. You want to scare the burglar away quickly, not wait for monitoring to call police while intruders attack you and make off with valuables.

I really think things with Vivint have gone very good, but I have one small complaint. I'm supposed to get my bill adjusted to the first of the month, but I don't think that's ever been done. So I'm still paying at the end of the month. I wanted it to be adjusted to the beginning of the month. So that would be something that never happened that they said was going to happen.

I love my new alarm system. I am alerted when someone is near and I am able to control my home from my phone with ease. The ability to disarm and unlock my doors for family without me needing to rush home is a plus. I am also able to lock when they leave. I am able to view live image where my cameras have been installed. Being able to have a device that helps with controlling my energy is a plus. It is worth the price and to know that my home is secured gives me the peace of mind.

I have to admit that I'm surprised to see all these terrible reviews but I have loved the system. I'm paying $70 a month because I added two cameras and a lot more sensors etc. but have felt the peace of mind has been worth every penny. The thing I like best is how it tells you if any movement has been detected in your house. It gives you a history of any moment where something moved so when you come home, if you forgot to set your alarm all day, you can still feel pretty safe going inside if nothing has been detected. The customer service has always been very good. They've been very polite and pretty quick to respond. It sounds like a lot of the problems have been in getting them to stop billing if you cancel and I have no experience there. My 3 year contract is expired but they have never called to pester me to sign another. It might turn out awful when and if I ever do cancel but so far, I have been extremely satisfied. The alarm went off once while I was at work and they called right away, sent someone out before calling the police and because of all the cameras and sensors, I was able to realize that my cousin had left the back door unlocked and it had swung open slightly and tripped the alarm. I do understand everyone else's concerns though so please consider their stories as well as mine.

Our rep was great and disclosed everything. We don't plan to move, so the moving fee doesn't matter. The quality of the video is great. We didn't take the door bell cause we had one and works with our system. The fire alarm system is linked to 911. The equipment might be cheaper for you to install yourself if bought elsewhere, but for them to install it set it up, it's worth it. Yes the 5 yr commitment sucks BUT you can get out if it after a year by paying off the equipment. There maybe some shady reps but ours wasn't. He told us everything and we knew what we were getting into. Ask questions people to get them to disclose everything.

Have my Vivint system now for 2 years and replaced my old alarm system. It is an amazing Smart Home Solution for us. This is a comprehensive system that does everything we need when we are at home or away on vacation. Service has been excellent when needed. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a top of the line Smart Home Solution. For those just looking for a doorbell cam there's cheaper stuff. But when it comes to my family and protecting my property, I am not interested in cheap.

The customer service rep was very upfront about cost, contract and ongoing cost as was the tech who installed the equipment. Customer Service worked with us to fit an install into our schedules. Arrival time was within the window we were given. Technician was professional and took the time to install equipment correctly. I was a little put off that he could not correct a problem with the area covered by the door bell camera; however, he offered a solution and said he would return once I purchased a wood block to move the camera away from the homes brick blocking part of the cameras capability. If the tech comes through when I call him later this week, I will have no complainants.

We have had Vivint Home Security for over 10 years. We have moved several times during that 10 year span and each of our homes have had Vivint in them. The monitoring is great and puts my mind at ease. The price point is great for the coverage that we need. I like that they are on auto pay so that I don't ever have to worry about the bill. In my busy life, this is one less thing for me to worry about and I am thankful for that. The customer service is usually good to work with. My one complaint is that I feel like whenever I contact them, they are always trying to upsale me. I don't like it when I call for a concern or simple question and I feel like I am being pressured to spend more or to upgrade to something that my family simply doesn't need.

Vivint has a excellent response time on every alarm code. When i moved and tried to transfer my service they informed me my service was not in my name. Interesting being a renter at the time i guess i was not eligible to obtain the service. So their service agents interviewed the previous owet and used his social security number and info for my service. Which is a illegal so they have kept charging me. So now i have my own home and had have them here 3 times tomorrow will make the fourth. And with Vivint i had no rights they would not let me cancell or pay for old systems. The response was that they did not offer financing when I obtained the service as for tbe months they charged me for nothing i cant get any credit for that. If i can suggest buy your equipment online you can get the sane quality or better and they have apps I have learned the hard way once you sign you are done!!!!!

We had Vivint first for 5 yrs and service was great! The only thing we didn't like too much was the length of the contract, but they changed that and now you can get a shorter one. Customer Service and technical support over the phone is very good. The only issues we have had is after a storm that all devices are out of battery and system need to be restored. They have always walked us through by phone to do it. After the contract was up, we renewed for 2 more years for an excellent price!

It seems that more people who have a problem with VIVINT write a review than those of us who have had a more favorable experience. I have had this system for over a year and there were occasional small issues, low batteries in one of my thermostats, panel needed updated software, but they were quickly corrected by customer service who in my opinion has done a good job. My system has two thermostats, 5 motion detectors, 5 cameras and several door switches, all of which work well. The ability to see my cameras remotely, three inside, two outside, is what got me to VIVINT in the first place. Granted it took some time to get all the WiFi repeaters in the right place to service all the sensors, but in the end it was worth it for the peace of mind. Other than spotting a few outside unknown animal eyes glowing in the dark I have been able to identify everything my cameras captured. at this point I am 99%$ satisfied with the system and will recommend it with the following condition; make sure you get a good installer, our first one did not have the knowledge to do it right so we requested and received a second one who was top notch. We have been pleased with the response of Customer Service so I am not sure why the others complain about that. All in all I recommend this system if you want the ability to monitor your home remotely and you want to monitor your home temperature adjust your thermostats on the go.

I got Xfinity home security, and then cancelled in a week due to the numerous issues. So I looked up the company with the #1 rated customer service, and that was Vivint. They showed up, installed everything cleanly and professionally. The installation tech was very knowledgeable and professional. The system works great, records any time there is motion, the camera clarity is outstanding, and the technology is easy to use and clear. I am very glad I got away from Xfinity. Xfinity is horrible. Vivint is fantastic so far.

We are very satisfied with Vivint. Had about a year in our home. Never a problem with installation or service. Price for comparison was about same. Instead of trying to sell us more equipment the installer looked house over and saved us several hundred dollars and still have excellent coverage for house. He was professional and thorough. I would recommend them to all.

We have had Vivint for 2 years now. We loved the doorbell camera and inside camera. The ability to lock and unlock the front door, check the cameras, and set the alarm from the phone app is awesome. The sales man at our door was not pushy. We explained to him that we never make a decision on the spot and that if he would leave us the quote, we would pray about it and let him know what we decided. He was very respectful. He was shocked when we called him the very next day to get it installed. We moved after the first year to a bigger house and Vivint came out and removed most of our sensors and brought them to the new house which already had wireless sensors in it. They worked with the Vivint system so we didn't have to pay any extra for more sensors. We also recieved a new wireless door lock since our original had brass and our new house did not at no additional cost. He even installed a wifi extender to help the signal reach all of the sensors in our house. The only downside so far, is that sometimes the doorlock will not respond to our phone app when trying lock and unlock. Once in a while the doorbell camera goes offline. Probably due to poor signal. Customer service has always been great. Not sure why Vivint has such low ratings. I would say other than having to sign up for a 2 year contract, Vivint has been very good for us.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the services. The auto door is so convenient when you have kids that keep loosing their keys. The doorbell camera is so crystal clear that I can see the stains on people clothes as they walk up. I would highly recommend this company, as I have had two other security companies before. The customer services reps have been extremely helpful as I have recommended them to other relatives!!!!! LOVE the services! One of the techs was late arriving, however he called to inform that he was running late due to him helping another customer's installation.

My elderly mom has had Vivint for 5 years. I like the system, it works well. I really like the app. I was able to watch her movements in the house. She fell, and I was able to tell she had not been moving. Had to break in, found her, then just had to push the vivant button to get the ambulance. Now she's in a home, but there house is guarded, and I can let people on for repairs and time remotely. About 45 per month and no internet needed, uses cell phone technology. Really like it. They've always been nice in the phone and helpful, must depend on the service area because they've been great.

We have been with Vivint for a few months now- absolutely NO issues. I had to call customer service one time and the gentleman was very polite and talked me thru reconnecting the wifi. The young man that sold us the system came by to check on us a week later to make sure we were happy with the system. I would recommend Vivint to anyone looking for a security system.

I have used several other supposedly higher ranked companies on this list and I have never read such BULL. VIVINT is by FAR the best HS company I have ever worked with. This system works 100% of the time! I have never been more pleased with a product!!

Easy to use home automation. Has room for improvement with customization. Good integration with Alexa as well as Schleag smart locks. The motion sensors are not necessary I would have opted against it. They state 50lbs will trigger the sensor however they are VERY sensitive and shadows or our 10lb dog have trigged it and caused false alarms. All else is great so far.

We have had Vivint for years and have never had a problem with their services. The system works tremendously well. What is your home and personal security worth? Years ago, we decided that since our children were home alone more often that we would put in their security system. It was 'peace of mind' when the kids were home alone and when we go on trips. One thing that I like about their system is that it is internet connected not phone line based.

We have had Vivint for over 10 years and have never had a problem with them. The installation was free, the equipment was free. They came out and replaced the wireless phone when a newer model came out. They call periodically to check and se how our system is doing. My step-daughter and her family also have Vivint. They also got the same deal and set-up that we have and a few extras. They love it and feel secure when there gone away as well as when there sleeping at night.

We have had Vivint for about 4 yrs now. I am super happy with this company. We even got some of our friends to join up. I don't know why they are getting such a bad rap. Customer service has always been good to us. We have had a few accidental set offs with the system.. But the cops show up pretty fast as well as the fire department. I would highly recommend this Company to anyone..

I have had a great experience with vivint as my security system provider. The tech is top of the line and works really well. I was very pleased with the transparency of the salesperson in explaining the cost per month and the equipment cost. I noticed that vivint has completely changed the pricing model and it now mirrors Verizon and AT&T pricing model with a reoccurring service fee and a separate equipment cost that is financed at 0%. After I pay off my equipment my cost will go down to just the monthly service fee. I feel this is really fair and is upfront about what the cost is.

Had Vivint for a little over 3 years now. No issues with installation, billing, or anything. Customer Service is on point with all of my questions and assistance. Initial equipment was free and based on a point system, you are given something like 40 points and window and door sensors are like 4 points. Anything after you have exhausted the 40 points costs extra, but, the amount is minimal. Panel needed to be upgraded (chip upgrade - required by Vivint) and was done free of charge.

I've been a customer of Vivint for about 10 years and I NEVER take the time to write reviews, so here's a quick snapshot: PROS: Customer service is out of this world, truly impressive. Technicians onsite, huge improvements from prior. Equipment works flawlessly. Billing has never been an issue (save for when they switched me to paperless billing without me knowing and I missed a payment, but they were more than happy to accommodate). Online and App space, effortless, easy to navigate. CONS: I pay about $5 to $10 more a month that competitors, a tad higher than most, but certainly not a deal breaker.
