Overall the program is working according to plan; however, with the POA on file with my creditors I can't access account information that I need from the creditors that has nothing to do with the program. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. If you're considering the program, you will definitely need the attorney option. I've pretty used them for settling every account.

That does sound terribly frustrating, Ms. Lewis. It is the creditor's decision rather to continue communicating with a client who has signed a 3rd party authorization to communicate or honor the request and discontinue contact with the client. This is to protect our clients enrolled in our program. It is never meant to be used as a tool to cause or create frustration. Thank you for sharing your honest feedback.

I tried to cancel my payment for this month but was told I needed to give a 48 hour in advance notice... I called on the 29th... and payment was due on the 1st okay maybe on the 31st anyway I was told it could be done!!!!!!

We apologize for the inconvenience caused in this situation. Understand that the dedicated account is provided by a 3rd party financial institution; CFT or Crossroads Financial Technologies. In order to modify a scheduled deposit, CFT needs a minimum of 48 hours notification. This is because the deposit begins to process within 24 hours of the scheduled deposit date. In some cases, we are able to modify a scheduled deposit due to the time of day. In other cases, we are not simply due to the amount of time we have to work with. I’m not happy with the way I have to go about to get my debt resolved. Had to go to court 2 x miss work the third time I missed because I never received the letter and it just seemed that my Debt relief people weren’t working fast enough to keep me out of court. I understand I have to have funds in my account to be able to negotiate a settlement but it seems there has to be a way of negotiating better.

Freedom debt relief is good, however, it is taking longer than they told me at the beginning. I feel I should be further along in graduating and resolving my credit card debt. It looks like at this rate is will be at least another year to a year and a half until I resolve my debt situatuation.

While I understand FDR is in business to make money, I feel the goal of FDR was to front load their profit immediately, taking the lion's share of funds from the dedicated account, or approximately 65% more to FDR, than the first payment to my creditor. And, each payment to my creditor going forward reaps another large fee to FDR. This effect causes my other account (I have two) to linger and rack up late payment activity since the settlement on account number one eats up most of my deposits (for example, the next 30 days' deposits will be entirely used up with creditor payment plus FDR's fee).
While there is the benefit of reduced interest over the course of the program it is mitigated by the fees. The program does cause a big hit to my credit score and a big boon to FDR's income sheet. I believe the fees associated with the program are expensive, and the program is definitely best used as a last resort.
Lesson learned: don't rack up too much debt.

We never want any of our clients to feel like they are getting taken advantage of or feel like the program is the worst decision they have made. We collect a one-time settlement fee, but only once a settlement has been negotiated and authorized by the client and we have started making payments toward the settlement. I'm not really happy about how they make it seem like you are saving so much when in reality after the fees you incur from letting your accounts go without payment, the monthly account fees you are charged, and the settlement fee you are charged, you are really only saving maybe $100 per account and causing yourself 4 to 5 years of headaches. Almost seems better to file bankruptcy and be done with it or negotiate with the credit companies yourself. I don't feel like the process and fees are clearly explained by the representatives. If they had been more transparent, I probably would have handled it myself but now I'm in it for the long haul since my credit is now screwed until they fix it.

Made things seem easy
I still received calls from my debtors I actually choose not to answer my phone rather than listen to them tel me my decision was bad for my credit
Take whole situation is bad
My checking account is overdrawn 910$ as we speak which is the lowest it’s been overdrawn since I started with freedom.
One has been resolved I guess I have 31 more months of not having any money and dodging phone calls and or emails
