They were great until I accelerated and paid my program off early. I was told they couldn't stop taking monthly payments altogether and so instead of taking just over $500.00 a month from my bank account they would take $25.00 a month until they could finalize everything with my creditors, which they did, for exactly one month! The next month they promptly went back to taking over $500.00 from my account which caused me to be temporarily overdrawn. When I called to straighten it out the guy on the phone said the withdrawal had only been set up to drop down to $25.00 a month for 1 month and asked me if I wanted to do it permanently? I was livid! You've basically robbed me and my account is overdrawn and you want to play word games! When I exploded and told him to quit talking to me like I was an idiot he told me he was just trying to tell me what happened and that I needed to call my bank to fix it. Then he promptly hung up on me. I called my bank and blocked all future withdrawals by Freedom Debt Relief. They will have to get their payment from a low balance debit card from now on! When I called back and tried to speak with a supervisor they were all too busy so I asked for a call back. Based on the day's interactions I'm not really expecting one.

I reached out to FDR Averi B back in June 2020 via email and phone in regards to my account! I logged into my portal to update my new banking information and instead of pulling money from that bank it pulled money from the bank I removed and the new bank! Over several months, emails, and conversations, (even with the proof that I still have that I did NOT authorize the transaction to come out of the account I was removing) I was told I wouldn’t be able to get the full amount back or at all, and if I took the partial amount that was available back that I would lose my settlement! That was a very low low blow in my book! Especially right now with everything going on with COVID and my husband has no job. It’s now September and no one has bothered to call or email me with anything. I am out my $1311 that I could most certainly use for my family! Thanks FDR for taking $1311 away from my family and not caring at all during these tough times. Just goes to show you how companies really care about their actual customers. All they really want is the money.

When FDR does a settlement, sometimes they don’t think about how much you have accumulated in your account and put you dangerously low. If the customer (me) have a bit of a financial crisis, FDR doesn’t really care and can be insensitive to your situation. That’s my only complaint. Otherwise, it is an effective way to pay off your debts.

While I had an initial impression of getting help from Freedom Debt Relief, I am now convinced that I could have gotten help faster (and better explained) from another company. The amount I am paying to "resolve my debt" is what I can afford, but I was misinformed about the amount of money Freedom Debt would be taking out of my monthly payments. I could quite possibly be closer to paying off my debts if I didn't have to pay 25% of each payment to the company to do basically nothing. Sure, they contact the companies I owe money to, and supposedly negotiate how much they'll take to resolve the debt. But that isn't much more than a couple of phone calls. I'm due to pay one bill off in another 8 months (!) unless I can pay more each month to my account. Then I will have one bill left to be "negotiated" and paid off. Which means I won't be completely done until sometime in 2022. That also wasn't clear to me at the outcome. Once I get these bills paid off, I will make CERTAIN not to have this happen to me again.
