Overpriced annual fees for a card with no added benefits. When I was looking for a card that offered great rewards I thought I had it with AMEX, it turns out that wasn't the case. The whole time I had the card I was underwhelmed. I would look into another card before signing up with AMEX.

I love that I can get frequent flyer miles and build up points with purchases. I wish they didn't charge an annual fee to use their services. Their prompts to make payments are quick and easy though.

I have an American Express card but I only use it when I have to. The cost to have the card is too much. And many times they charged me for services i didn't request. I had to cancel the services several times before they stopped charging me.

I like American Express but there are fewer places accepting it because of the high cost to the stores. I liked the fact that they didn't charge me a fee as long as I paid my bill in full every month.

I liked our American Express when we had it. We had the Costco card with them and switched when Costco switched. The cash back rewards were the best in the industry. Very easy to redeem each year.

I like their online portal where you can see all your transactions easily. They are quick to respond to suspected fraud and other accounting issues. I wish they didn't leave Costco, though.

Horrible experience with these arrogant people. With a FICO score of 790, AMEX delivered a letter asking me to deal with the IRS and request copies of my w-2, a transcript of my income tax returns, I don't think this is even legal here in California, my state. Additionally, good look dealing with the IRS, the typical wait to request, not free, it is $40 dollars, your IRS Income Tax Return Transcripts is 18 months. I should report AMEX to the FTC!
