Sprint is a major provider of wireless phone and Internet products and services for individuals and businesses throughout the world and offers the latest smartphone and tablet device technology with 4G LTE data coverage in over 500 cities nationwide.
Founded in 1899 and headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, Sprint now owns Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and the Assurance brands of non-contract providers.
Though Sprint's coverage depth and breadth are not as robust as that of the top companies, its coverage is improving in certain areas. Sprint now offers especially fast 4G LTE network coverage improvements in four major U.S. metro areas in preparation for 5G speeds:
Sprint focuses heavily on serving families or groups of friends that want to go in on a phone account together. The group pricing provides an incentive to add more lines because of the discounts available.
For example, the Unlimited Basic service plan gets you your third, fourth, and fifth lines free, totaling $20/month per line, a price that is very difficult (if not impossible) to find elsewhere for what you get. The carrier claims using its Unlimited Basic multi-line plan actually gives customers a $1000 savings over their first year over certain competitors.
Sprint's three "Unlimited" plans, Unlimited Basic, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Premium, all include these benefits:
Unlimited Plus includes a Tidal account as well, and Unlimited Premium comes with Tidal, Lookout, and Amazon Prime.
Customers age 55+ or customers who are active military or veterans qualify for specialized Unlimited plans. Data plans for tablets, mobile hotspots, and smartwatches can be purchased, too.
New and popular Apple and Android phones and tablet options are available through Sprint. Financing rates are based on credit qualifications, but generally, you can utilize the Spring Flex 18-month lease on a new phone. Pre-owned phones are also available. If your current phone is compatible with the Sprint Network and it is unlocked, you can activate it with a new Sprint account. You do need a SIM card to activate your device.
Sprint also sells other tech product accessories:
Depending on where in the U.S. you live, Sprint's network coverage can be outstanding or poor, so potential customers should closely study Sprint's coverage map prior to signing up to avoid slower download speeds and dropped calls.
The early termination fee (the cost a consumer pays when they cancel their contract early) is something you should be aware of before signing up with Sprint. If you sign up for a 1 or 2-year contract and then decide to change carriers, you must pay a fee for each line of service you signed up with. The fee is prorated based on the length of your remaining term commitment, but depending on how many months you have remaining on your contract, you might end up paying a steep price.
Standalone hotspots and Wi-fi card plans are expensive with Sprint. The cheapest plan the carrier currently provides is $30/month for 10GB of data. There are also additional fees that can apply with the limited GB data.
It's so discouraging and disappointing to write this review. However the reps in this store have horrible customer service particularly a guy by the name of Geo. My grandfather went into the store to do a change of ownership. This guy talked him into porting the line out to att & then had him come back to open up 4 new lines that he didn't need that weekend trackers saying that it would make his bill "cheaper". The cause my grandpa such distress as he didn't have access to his original phone line that he uses for work and missed tons of work related calls. Going back into the store to have Geo help him to get the line back. He got so mad went into the back office for about 30-40 minutes saying he was going to get a manger to help. Manager never came. He came out and left out the store to sit in his car for im guessing a lunch break. My grandpa sat there for 2 hrs until the store closed Without anyone ever coming to assist him with this issue. Geo than came back in at closing time and told him to come back in the morning once the store opened and he would personally go to get him a SIM card to help get his number back. My granpa desperately trying to recover his number agreed to come back and did just that only to find out that Geo called off and was not coming in. Wow he was so discouraging as a customer service rep. Rude, disrespectful, & took advantage if the elderly by selling him products that he didn't have a clue about and opening new lines that he did not need. If I can rate him at 0 I would we resolved the issues but it wasn't at this store with all there terrible customer service. In Inglewood ca century and Crenshaw.
Sprint is alright. They are cheap which is great but I often don't have the best reception as compared to some other companies I have been with before. On the plus side, they have very cheap deals for families so that's why I have stayed with them.
Sprint's review score is 48.1% lower than the average review score of the top recommended Cell Phone Providers Company
Not that we have a discount pricing is better at least. But service goes in/out. Calls drop. Can't connect to internet sometimes.
Good service but a little costly for 2 unlimited everything
I'm very unsatisfied with Sprint, I've been a faithful and excellent paying customer and they have only jerked me around
customer service is superb, connectivity issues still abound which is unfortunate
Its was that this doesn’t give you an option to give less than 1 star. This is the worst experience I have ever been through! We were lied to and deceived... It is nothing more than a scam. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with reps supervisors telling me different things. Being placed on hold I’m actually on hold right now. This is outrageous 2 hrs with the rep before this call. She even told me I’m not allowed to record the phone conversations lol. I can’t believe I’ve how many times they have lied and told me one thing then another!!!
Their network is week in isolated areas, they will send you equipment free of charge to help strengthen the signal. They at least try. Other company's such as Verizon what you to pay for their equipment to restrenthen their poor signal areas. Sprint does not get credit for that. They give about Airave's and other new pieces of equipment to help their customers.
We had Sprint for many years. We attempted to sign up for a new plan to save money. It was a very frustrating experience as one service representative would tell us one thing and another representative would tell us another. In a nutshell, we were told we weren't qualified for this plan or that plan, then they'd try to talk us into a different plan. So, we shopped and picked a new provider. Then, we had significant problems getting Sprint to unlock our phones to transfer service. Sprint kept putting us off and finally sent us to a store for help. At the store, we were told the store wasn't a "real" Sprint store and we would have to call Sprint again, which we did. We then got the run around again saying they couldn't unlock the account for another 30 days for some billing reason. Then, Sprint kept trying to sell us another plan. We spoke with a supervisor and told her how frustrated we were. She said a manager would give us a call in 24 to 48 hours. We never received a call. Sprint finally unlocked our phones so we could change to the new provider. This process took many calls, many delays, wasted time traveling to what we were told was a Sprint store. I think we were with Sprint 14 years and spent $320 per month for four lines. You would think they would have been more helpful and reasonable.
Expensive. Sold my daughter a plan but were not honest about the total cost. Said it would be about $5 more a month for our plan. Cost over $45 more!
terrible, dont care about their customers, and only want your money, they lie about prices
It has a fair Service for a lower price.
Worst phone company ever. Please do not give anything if you are not 100% sure that you want it. We have trade an iPhone 8, and we just lost it. After talking with executive manager Mari she personally has decided to delete a replacement option of an iPhone 7 that her team has given to us because we were asking for our iPhone 8 value. This turned into something personal. Now we do not have any phone and their only solution within the 30 days of prove offered was a value of $105 for an iPhone 8. What kind of company does this? I have never seen anything like this before. All is a trap, it is no worth the change at all.
Sprint is horrible in customer relations !!! Worst experience ever!! The lady told me that I would be without my phone for a week !!! I was going to pay to fix mine and get a new one ! She told me I couldn’t !!! Great service! 6 years with them! I’m done !!!!
Sprint was okay but I feel like it’s slowly gone down hill lately. I wish that had service in more places.
Sprint customer service is poor and the service is fair. i would recommend a different cell carrier
I was mislead and customer service would not correct it
Terrible customer service. Terrible reception
Too Expensive and poor service in some areas.
Customer service is good but price and value is poor because they make you pay full price for the phone and be on a contract and still charge u a forever lease on the phone
With the Coronavirus in full effect I contacted Sprint and requested a credit as MetroPCS has offered to their customers to be told by SPRINT they are not offering any credits or benefits at this time. The supervisor proceed to say that’s the service is still working so you need to pay. I will be switching carriers if this multi billion company ONLY SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT THE DOLLAR and not assisting their customers. Time to make the switch I do not want to allow a pathetic company to benefit from any revenue I can offer them.
Sprint has gotten better throughout the years however at times I don’t have service and the internet can be slow.
Usually have good coverage, hate when I need customer support talking to someone I can’t understand. Hire American workers already
Sprint has been slightly spotty in my area, so we were forced to change providers. If they had better coverage, I would be more likely to switch back.
Love that you are able to get a cheap iPhone upgrade just for switching
The connection with Sprint is always great and never gives me problems no matter where I go. Sprint has been my go to company for all of my phones that I have ever purchased.
The signal goes out in the middle of my service sometimes while I am doing an assignment.
I had sprint for years and really appreciate their great customer service! The unlimited data plan is the best!
Not happy with sprint recently. Every months bill is different and no one from customer service can explained why. I even talked to a supervisor about it who assured me she would monitor my account for several months to make sure bill was the price she quoted me but have yet to here from her even though my bill was different the very next month. I’m rating customer service a 0 on a 1-5 scale.
Internet service is horrible! Had it for many years for Growing up. Definitely cheaper than others
Sprint is a great phone company. I always have signal for calls and internet all the places I go. The plans are convenient, especially since you can pay off your phone monthly while paying the phone bill. The plans aren't pricey and customer service is fairly helpful.
Sprint was not as best of quality as it thinks. The data rates were slow and were used up in seconds.
Sprint is not my favorite cell company. Their service is slow when it works, and tends to drop off far more than my friends who have other providers. Not happy.
This is my review for Sprint cell phone services my husband and I stayed in contact with Sprint customer service within the last 3 months letting them know that we needed to suspend our phone line and would be making a payment later. We contacted Sprint customer service three to five times within that three months just to touch base with him and let them know when we would be making a payment. Today we call them to make a payment and get our cell phone turned back on and the women we spoke to at the customer service office for Sprint told us they had sent our Sprint bill to a collection agency the price was over $100. That meant they never suspended the line they would just listen to us and not do anything we'd asked or anything they said they do then after speaking with the woman today ask to speak with her supervisor 4 times and still never got through to her supervisor we ended up hanging up and deciding to go with a different cell phone company Sprint cell phone service is the worst cell phone service the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life they're rude and foreign. People do not go with Sprint you will regret it.
I have been with spring since 2013. Customer service could be a lot better. In most stores the employees are rude and couldn’t not assist me.
We’ve been with Sprint since 2008. If I felt comfortable switching carriers I would. The customer service is poor, had an issue it took me hours on phone and chat to resolve.
Sprint provides fast internet speeds and covers most of the country. It’s fast reliable cellular data.
I'm not a huge fan of the service reliability. In some areas it works really well but in other areas, I have little to no service.
I've had Sprint for about 5 years. For the most part Sprint is a great service, but in some areas i have traveled the service has been sub par. Some of my family members cannot be on our plan becasue there is generally no service where they are located.
If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck Sprint is a good option. There is a caveat, their service is very spotty and quite frankly annoying! I've dropped so may calls:-(( So when you see the old Verizon commercial guy trying to say that Sprint is within reason, they're not!!!
I have always had a good experience with Sprint employees. While their cell service can be spotty, their prices are very reasonable and I enjoy doing business with them
Their customer service can be difficult, particularly when trying to change a phone but keep plan the same. Overall decent phone service
lies and tricks to get you into their contract. was told my mo. bill would be no more than $150. got my first three bills of $250 which then after dropped to around$190. complained to customer service after a year (when i realized the bill, they set me up with autopay). CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! I do not know where they are located but they DO NOT comprehend my English language!! I was going back and forth with the same person for about two hours and still got NO WHERE. I got frustrated and just gave up. Their service sucks. I have little to NO service where i live. There's times where my internet goes down for several hours. Their internet is SLOW. I wish i could go back and not get this contract.
Decent prices and good deals once in a while. Not very good coverage. No perks or rewards for being a long term customer.
I had a bad experience with Sprint. Whenever I would call customer service they were rude and they kept increasing my phone bill.
Tried Sprint and totally regretted it. They kept raising their prices and the service was no better then other companies!
I have been with Sprint for 7 years and I love the 'Sprint Forever' plan. I am able to have unlimited calls, text, a 10G hotspot, and while abroad I have free text SMS, and calls $0.25/ minute. Sprint has made everything cheap, easy and affordable.
I have had spring for about 9 years now and I really value their customer service. I have been a customer for a long time because I enjoy their service and what they offer me!
I have had nothing but a great experience with Sprint. I have great coverage and service
I do not like Sprint because their signal is not so great. When you get an iphone with them, you cannot do anything with that phone if you are unhappy with their service and company. They trick you with their deals.
