Poor communication with Shawnee/for months call customer service on this three times recorded conversations went to I.R.S. myself to be told I would have been granted unable to pay thru them without paying for a lawyer because I didn't have enough income than after I called to be told your defence team would open my case which I didn't know it was closed until someone called to congratulate me that agent got me some help or tried to i was then told i should have gotten a written letter and a email from the lawyer which I did not and the I.R.S. didn't receive anything either. Finally Robert and new lawyer came on board and things where good Robert was focused on closing my case and I got the case closed with the same results the I.R.S. told me they would do but being i had already paid tax defense let them refile for me.I was not happy thru the process but have learned from it . Your gold star guarantee customer service knew I was unhappy because I called them at least four times. I would tell anyone who finds themself in trouble with taxes to talk to the I.R.S. first before paying almost 4 thousand dollars. A thanks to Robert he treated me with respect and did what said he would do,sorry I didn't have him first.

I used to hire a lady to help me file my taxes. She was like a friend of the family and had done this for us and her brother for a while. After she passed away my boyfriend called an attorney and they referred us to Tax Defense Network. The attorney said they would work with us on everything and that hopefully we wouldn't have to pay any late fees. When I first hired them customer support was good. They were very nice and did exactly what they said they would do. The only thing I received was a letter from the state of Missouri saying that I owed them some late fees. I probably won't let them do my taxes again though. I mean, I think they know what they're doing and they seem to be great. I just wish they would get back to me when I call them.

I owed $19,000 in backed taxes from the year 2015 and I thought that letting them help me would be better than doing it by myself. Once I got involved they promised that my penalty would be revoked but it wasn't. It just continued to accrue interest from October 2017 to March 2017 and now I owe more interest. I didn't know it was doing that until the IRS reported it. Now I also owe more taxes so instead of paying $19,000 I owe $26,000. I also had a hard time getting in contact with my representative whenever I called him. I could have called them and done that by myself. I would've avoided the $26,000 fee that they charged me.

The communication is horrible. They do not explain to you the process a since more than likely this is the first time going thru this but they assume you know I suppose. Messages don't get returned and I ended up feeling like I had been taken by a scam. Although the attorney that assisted me was kind, I believe that they ultimately knew that there was nothing that could truly be done to help me and didn't simply explain that to me. Instead, I feel as though I was lead to believe that I was at least going to get some sort of deal with the IRS. In the end, im still in the same predicament, only now, I have an additional bill that I have to pay plus the IRS bill. Simply a waste of my money. I could have made a deal with the IRS by myself and saved myself $5000 that I am now paying this company.

The representatives assigned to me kept changing- I had 6 or 7 in total- no one stayed they kept moving on. Also, the representatives were only a go-between, not the tax agent who actually needed to take care of my needs and I had to get very curt, almost rude with the representatives in order to talk to the tax agent. I almost demanded a refund.

I would not do that again. Based on the results I would not use it or refer them. I had over payed my taxes by six thousand dollars, I wanted them to be able to reconcile instead they got me to pay a hundred dollars and it was not what they had committed to for me and in that thing. I was really counting on them. I have found that they are a group of individuals spread all over the country and that they work with each other but they're really not a concentrated company. At least in my experience I was calling different numbers all over and I don't think they understood my request.

I heard about on an advertisement on the radio. They didn't live up to the to either my expectations or what the problem they had promised. It was not a good decision. In fact I'm looking at the other Tax relief companies at the moment to see if I can get an additional systems from them. My experience with them as they put me in a very difficult position financially and there were times when I called three or four times in one day and sent multiple emails and got no response.

There were billing issues from beginning I have had 3 different case workers in two months I have given all info requested, communication is miserable, the only progress made was made by a manager, I still owe as much as I ever did and that number has gone up since I hired tax defence in penalties, my monthly payment is 500.00$ per month plus what I pay tax defence 195.00 pre month, bottom line, I spent money on tax defence adding to my debt and would have been better off just dealing with the government my self

If I had to do it all over again I would try to find another company. It's disappointing when you have to call him and ask him what's going on and you have to keep calling and calling and calling then you have to call someone over top of the person that is helping you. And then you tell them to call you back or text or send a fax. I feel there was times I was in the dark and a couple of times I've had to take things into my own hands to get things straightened out.

i had a tax lien against me from the irs. i hired your company [for several thousand dollars] and you did get the lien lowered. started out owing 44,000 and after paying over 1200.00 a month for over a year still ended up owing 39,000 and still paying that now. i had expectations of getting my debt lowered.with the loan to pay for your services and the debt still owed i owe more now than when i started this process which was 44,000. sorry, just disappointed i couldn't get a break on the amount owed to the irs.

I signed up with them, because I needed help with my taxes. The guy that I talked to was very friendly and tried to be helpful but the tax relief wasn't what we expected based on what they told us at the beginning when we called to ask for help. They said that they were going to do all this wonderful stuff for us and they didn't. Actually they said that they were going to do so but they didn't do it the way that we were promised by the first person that we spoke to.

I had a fairly significant amount I owed to the IRS and I was hoping to get that reduced. They were generally fairly responsive and ultimately things were ok. They advertise that they have large reductions for taxes available but that's not really true. The whole tax relief field is basically just fraud and their advertisings are misleading. I don't get updates as much as I should. I am on a payment plan so it seems like I don't get things done as fast as I should have. The important things that I'm trying to get done is not done. I feel like it's because I gave all my money at once. But I do have a very good person that's working with me finally.

They should definitely disclose everything when it comes to what kind of services and how they will actually be able to help instead of misleading you in waiting until you paid a significant amount of money to tell you that there's nothing they can do.

Communication is sometimes pretty tough. I thought my case was resolved and I contacted the IRS and found that it wasn't and so I'm a little unhappy about that because I paid a lot and it is still technically hasn't been resolved. I can't always get a hold of someone, it is difficult getting a response once the resolution is in place.

I had to pay the full amount, they didn't relieve any of my taxes. It seemed like I got bounced between representatives constantly. It felt like a game of tag. I payed $500 a month for them to not get anything lowered, I could have just done it on my own.

I did a lot of the work. I called them a lot and never got return phone calls. Once you're done, you're done. Even if you feel that you still need help, they don't help you and they want you to re-sign up again and start your case all over again.

Totally disappointed

Slow response times, poor communication with their clients. I have to initiate follow-up. Incorrect information on tax returns. I have an expensive contract and totally disppointed with their services. I would not recomment to anyone.

I don't think they did all they could for me. They said that they would add my 2017 tax in with my other taxes, but they did not. I R S sent me a letter stating that we had to pay over $600.00 by July because they didn't do my 2017 tax correctly.

We’ve had an installment agreement for the past 10 years and the account that it’s debited from had to close due to our business shutting down because of a total loss from a fire. So we tried to change the bank account online via the trusty IRS site but wasn’t able to. So instead of dealing with the IRS directly, we hired tax defense to handle our situation because we knew we were getting close to the end and if you try to work anything out with the IRS they seem to want to reevaluate our situation and try to increase our payment. So we hired tax defense to handle it but our advice from their attorney was to continue paying it on line. Well after 5 months the IRS said we missed 1 payment by sending us a notification via mail. We immediately notified our tax defense attorney and he said to ignore the letters and continue to pay. So a month later we received 12 certified IRS letters stating they have intent to terminate our agreement. I was trying to avoid this exact situation but the tax defense attorney said to ignore the letters. His advice was not helpful and I’m not sure what why he’s not being more transparent with the IRS. We only have 1 more year and have done everything right so far but the attorney from tax defense is in my opinion did not put forth the work needed to avoid and help our situation so we could finish this agreement without any trouble with the IRS! I’m very disappointed.

1st and foremost,I was gonna call the BBB on your company. I've been dealing with TDN, since before covid. Have tons of emails to prove it. Going back and forth with different people. $3600 it cost me to get my taxes resolved and as soon as I paid all I got was the run around. 300 I had to pay to get my 2020 taxes done., bec the person said the IRS would not make a settlement with out it. They originally was asking for $400.!!!. Well I do believe in A higher power, bec that's wen Monica G-P step in. I dnt know who sent her, but she came in and handled Everything, Professionally and with empathy. She saw how long I had been with the company and was Amazing. She called wen she said she was gonna call and she came with understanding that I was tired and felt defeated. This afternoon I got her call telling me. That the lawyers came with an agreement. We have been dealing with TDN since January and charged over $10K with not much service. First they assigned our file to someone in vacation then after we contacted them they finally reassigned our case to 2 different teams. There were many errors made in our taxes since the beginning and it is like pulling teeth to try to get someone to get back to us and keep us informed. We understand that our case is not easy to deal with but we based ourselves with BBB to choose DFN. The pandemic and bad weather in Florida do not help and we imagine that the IRS must be so short of staff that it is difficult to get in touch with them but we trusted TDN to help us and get a solution for us so we can get our lives back again. Update: Tax Defense Network reached out to assure us that they will work to find a solution. We truly appreciate their response and will hope for the best.

My experience wasn't the greatest. The first tax professional I had we just didn't connect. She didn't seem to listen very well, and she would ask me to do send her bank statements ext. I would send them and she wouldn't respond. I had to call her a week later to find out if she received them, and she finally called saying she did, but that it wasn't good enough. She refused to present what she had to the IRS saying that it would get denied. I ended up speaking to a manager and they went ahead and presented everything and it was approved. I was moved over to a new tax professional and I didn't have him long enough to give him a rating, but he did give me information that the first lady didn't. At the end of the day, the experience was frustrating but ended up working in my favor. My stress level was high, but in the end, it all worked out. I would use them again in the future if needed. Honestly, I can't give that a yes or no, but I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know. The young man that I was transferred to was why my rating wasn't a one star.

I mis-reported stock sales in 2016 and was contacted by the IRS to pay back $16k in taxes + nearly $3k in penalties and interest. I contacted the Tax Defense Network and they said while they couldn't guarantee I could get the interest and penalties waived, that they had never seen a situation in which that hadn't happened with a case like mine. So I paid their $2,500 fee thinking at the very least I won't have to deal directly with the IRS and that the service would pay for itself by getting the penalties and interest waived. I was ecstatic when they audited my taxes and found that the IRS was wrong, that I didn't owe $16k but only $10k...great...then I wait and wait and wait...10 months before I get the go-ahead to pay the taxes but they were only able to waive $90 of the nearly $2k penalties and interest. Worse yet, I was told by the Money Resolver contact that they never get those fees waived...now I'm really mad because I was sold a line that I based on my decision on. In retrospect, I should have just taken it to my tax accountant who would have found the IRS discrepancy for a fraction of the cost. The other problem was that I had the money to pay the IRS 8 months before it was resolved but was told to wait to pay so that they could negotiate with the IRS...Mistake because then I ended up paying more penalties and interest during that time! From what I can tell, it's not that hard to contact the IRS and work this stuff out without this service. Get a good tax accountant and then work with the IRS and your tax accountant directly.
