My initial impression was hopeful, but that soon died after my first consultation. The lady seemed confused and half asleep. I had no co guidance in her at all. She never answered calls or emails and was imposing legal to get in touch with. I sent her everything I had received from The IRS at my time and cost. Her first initial suggestion was to call and make voluntary payments. I though to myself, 2400 dollars and that's what I get. They assigned me a new tax expert and the final options that they gave me was the same as the original IRS documents I sent them. From what I see they copied it off of the document I sent them, just in a different format. So to sum it up, the worst decision of my life. Everything they told me I already knew. I have to say the o lytime they did contact me numerous times was when they were setting up their payment. I am definately going to speak with someone about their terrible service and what I believe to be a scam.

My experience with Tax Defense Network was horrible to say the least. Initially when they want your business they will call and email you every five minutes. Once they get your business and assign you a rep good luck getting a hold of that person. The person I dealt with is inexperienced, missed deadlines, I had to contact her to ask her if I needed to respond directly to letters because I hadn't heard from her and something was due the next day. Sent me documentation that belonged to someone else, wouldn't respond to text or emails until I contacted a supervisor . She always claimed to be sick, in court, on the phone with another client and also asked me to wait after tax season for her to answer my questions. Treated me like I was a burden. According to the contract I signed my issue was not resolved. You don't get credit for doing half the work and taking the whole payment. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Save your money, make a payment towards your taxes or do your research and higher an attorney or reputable firm that will do what was stated in their contract. This company is SMOKE and MIRRORS!!! STAY AWAY!

When I do finally get a hold of someone I am promised that a phone call will be returned but has not. I owed the IRS a good 6000 dollars. I decided to work tax defense network because they said they would work to get my penalties dismissed & I dont even think that was brought up in their case. That was the main reason I hired them. It doesnt even seem like they did anything for me. I could have worked with the IRS directly without having to pay out all this extra money.

The person who I was dealing with for two years got an upgraded job with the company and gave me to someone who does not return calls when they say they will and avoids me when I call her. I am very dissatisfied with this company at this time! I still receive IRS notices and no one will tell me what to do anymore! very poor communication. I am a new client. At first workers were very professional. I received calls frequently almost on hourly basis. After I signed the papers and I entered into a loan agreement to pay for their services, no one calls me again. No one is asking me to submit documents that are tax related. I hope things will change for better. I want the company to look at the wordings in their response to complaints. The response is the same to every negative complaint. The word ‘hear’ from you is spelt ‘here’ from you. This does not give good image to this company. Manny

I reached out to this company to assist with filing taxes from prior years and to work with the IRS on penalties. From the beginning they stated that they could assist and could also get the amount of taxes owed reduced and could get the penalties reduced or removed. In working with them for a year the ONLY thing that happened was they filed my taxes and during the year the IRS kept tacking on more and more penalties. In the end from the time the tax returns were submitted until my wife contacted the IRS agent herself it wound up costing us an additional $80K in penalties while the tax defense company kept telling us nothing. The only time we received ANY information was when we emailed and called over and over for a couple of weeks. You would finally get a return email or call regarding information that they had apparently been sitting on for a month or two but never sent it to us. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and would HIGHLY recommend if you have tax issues deal with someone else.

I contacted Tax Defense Network and they were all very nice and very reassuring. I was told that they would start on my case and I would hear back from my assigned tax analyst that same day and was required to a payment the next day. I made the payment and future payments the next day as well as signed the required forms. I even called back the same day and the next day when I had not heard from my analyst. By the time I was able to actually talk to my analyst it was well beyond the 3 day cancellation period so I basically paid $650 for four phone calls. Had I been able to talk to my analyst earlier I would have cancelled within the allotted time period. I feel the reason for the short cancellation period is so that by the time you know if you really need their services it's already to late.

I previously (August, 2018) submitted a review outlining my dissatisfaction with Tax Defense Network. In a nutshell, they provided NO SERVICE beyond extending the due date for my taxes, as I had to pay EVERY CENT OWED, including penalties and interest. After filing my review, I was contacted by a representative and assured that my case would be looked into and some answers provided. After an email and a couple of phone calls, nothing. I was informed that the previous agent working with me was no longer with the company, but that my situation would be reviewed and perhaps I would be entitled to some sort of refund of part of the $6,500.00 it cost me to engage them. Obviously, NOTHING came of that promise. I have not been provided an answer on any of my concerns, but now it seems that I am receiving regular marketing solicitations from them promoting their services. I even tried to opt out of receiving those emails to no avail. Talk about adding insult to injury, try getting screwed by a company and then have them relentlessly try to solicit your business again!

They did not help me as promised in a timely fashion. Aside from that I got charged 400 for services I did not recieve which mwas lifting a wage garnishment. After I tried to speak to my "case worker" about a refund since I never got any info about my student loan nor did they ever lift my wage garnishment which was the main reason for my call. I had to do lift the garnishment myself since they mistyped my Date of Birth and could get the power of attorney in their name. When I cancelled my card so they would not charge me, I had a rep call me and ask me for my last payment to which I replied with the events that took place. I was told I would be contacted by someone at their office so they could refund me what I was charged for and I never recieved a refund nor a phone call from anyone. Worst experience ever!!!

The CPA that I was assigned to and was charged an additional $1,000.00 for their service cost me an additional $860.00 due to making me wait to pay the IRS their amount your staff sent me. Communication with the CPA was poorly handled. The only thing Tax Defense Network did was charge me $2,500 to refer me to a CPA. I have documentation that proves the above statement.

Total waste of time and money! After dealing with them we actually are in worse shape than we were before we started because of their handling of our case. Tax Defense has been paid in full for their services and the case is still not resolved. Hard to get return phone calls and prompt responses to email queries. Even contacted the corporate office to say we needed some answers to why we received a lien while Tax Defense is working on our case, which we were told COULD NOT happen, and of course so far they have not returned our call or responded to the email! The money that we been paid to Tax Defense could have gone towards our taxes to show the IRS we are trying to resolve the matter, instead we wasted it on Tax Defense only to end up with no results! UPDATE - (November) ...Issue still not resolved, but tax debt continues to climb. They promised no levy while they are on the case...ALL LIES, our situation is not better, no relief, and certainly not better off by trusting this company. Do yourself a favor, call a reputable company that wont lie and make you promises they can't keep, just to get your money. If I could rate "zero", I would! I would not even recommend them to an enemy.

After inputting my initial information online, a Customer Service Rep called me to walk through the services and then put me on hold for a few minutes, came back to tell me she was going to connect me to someone else and put me on hold again. I waited again and when she came back she again advised me she needed to put me on hold again. I told her she could call me back when she has someone ready-to-go to talk to me, but that she shouldn't call people and then put them on hold multiple times, making them wait for long periods. Bad customer service and just plain rude. And while I was very polite I have not heard back from them again. Good riddance ... I guess if they can't manage their front-end how can they manage the IRS?!

I ran into financial issues due to previous year of taxes not being reported correctly. I reached out to Tax Defense and was told on the front end that my situation with my debt and heal issues would be a good case to get the $7,000 tax reduced or absolved. Of course their fees were approximately $2,600 which was my entire savings. I could have used this to settle with the IRS. They told me that by absolving my debt would cost this and that would be all that I am looking at financially. 7 months later and several attempts at getting this resolved, all they could do is set up payments that really cut into my budget of $145.00 and now the balance I owe to the IRS is $13,147.54! They claim to have all this success and great rating. Their customer service is good but how could they not help me, a single woman who supports herself and OBVIOUSLY has no money to pay the IRS. I feel I was totally deceived and there is nothing I can do now that they took my money upfront. My suggestion, is get a CPA to work with the IRS or some other company.

Don't get fooled by TDN! Our odyssey with TDN began when we received a notice from the IRS for failure to respond to an audit. The audit was for 3 years and somehow we owed 75k+ even though we had paid taxes. We explained the circumstances of the issue and was told by TDN they could help us for $7500!! We were very concerned and naïve about the process and paid the fee upfront in two installments. This fee had to be paid in full before TDN would begin any services. Needless to say TDN sold us a bill of goods that did not hold up. There are too many bad things to list here but in the end we ended up owing the IRS the same amount for the years audited; had taxes filed late for the following year because TDN took over 1 year to complete and file the taxes; and then TDN refused to help us resolve with the IRS unless we agreed pay more money to continue services. One really frustrating issue was that they frequently transferred our account to the "new" person in the office causing delays and significant time on the phone re-stating the issues and background to bring that "new" person up to speed. The only reason we give TDN a rating of "1" is because the first person who initially handled our account was an advocate unfortunately she left TDN because she was overworked and underpaid. Bottom line do not use TDN!!

I contacted these folks, 1st they made sure I knew that they only take on cliets that meet their criteria and our case may not apply. We owed $ 80,000 + due to closing a business and capital gains from that. The attourney we spoke with made his consultation to check out our case and then promised to contact us on a Saturday to go over his findings. He never got back to us. But my wife pusued the case with the IRS and on her own was able to get the Offer in Compromise we requested help from the TAX DEFENSE NETWORK. THEY FAILED TO HELP AND RESPOND BACK RESPONSIBLY, OUR DEBT WAS REDUCED TO $12,000 WITH NO HELP FROM THESE FOLKS i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY ENEMIES!!!!

I engaged Tax Defense Network because of the positive reviews received online only to learn otherwise. They delayed and delayed, passing me from one person to the next without actually performing any work. The only thing they did do aggressively was tap my bank account. I sent all back returns promptly only to learn nearly 2-months later that the person on their staff I sent them to was no longer assigned to my case but that person and the organization overall did not have the decency to provide me with any information. Do yourself a favor and stick with not-for-profit organizations when pursuing assistance for tax-related matters. Their motivations differ and are better placed.

TDN charged me over $8,000, for the WORST service I've ever experienced! The first person told me a few days before Christmas to "... liquidate my 401k and pay the taxes, have a Merry Christmas...." When I explained that I received a monthly income from that account, she shifted me to a 'supervisor', then gave me to Mr. B. He wound up getting me into an unsustainable payment plan for NYS, taking a third of money needed for rent, and caused me to have to overdraw my 401k just to pay rent & utilities. He NEVER addressed the IRS issue, and made it sound like the world would end if I didn't sign off on the payment plan for NYS. I eventually wanted a refund. I was offered $2,500, which came with a caveat that I sign an agreement not to speak ill of the company. I refused, and I NEVER got the refund. I complained to the BBB and I still haven't had any resolution, and the payment plan nearly bankrupted me.
