In my opinion this is one of the biggest scams going!!!! The person that signed me up promised me all kinds of stuff. Said they would get late fees and penalties dropped. They did not. Told me he could get my debt to the irs cut in half, they did not. I ended up paying the irs the original total I owed and paying tax defense network almost $4000 for there “services”, which amounted to the occasional phone call or email. All the tax defense network did for me was file my 2018 taxes !!! Biggest scam ever and I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. So all in all my experience was very negative and I would not recommend them to any one!!

The only thing positive about my experience with tax defense was the representative that I had at the end of the process, Kaitlyn W. Prior to working with her, I struggled to have any communication and felt that the promises your company made during my initial contact were very misleading. I was told that I would save more than enough in adjustments to my taxes to offset the cost of your services. I ended up with no savings for the $5,000.00 plus dollars I paid. My original representative closed my case without even letting me know that it was finished. I also, had two levies on my bank account by the CA Franchise Tax Board that I was not assisted with. In the end , Kaitlyn was the only bright spot in the whole experience. I appreciate her help.

I am updating my original review I posted in September 2019. Take my advice and DO NOT USE this company!!! In the beginning they were great, and conveniently that is when they hit you up for a review. I have paid almost $4K to this company, which in hindsight, I wish I would have used toward my tax debt. I started with Deanna whom I have not heard from since before Thanksgiving. She assured me they were waiting on the IRS to negotiate a settlement. On 12/23/19 I received a certified letter from the IRS threatening wage garnishment. I have repeatedly attempted to contact her, sent her copies of the multiple notices I have received from the IRS. I have received absolutely NO RESPONSE. I don't even know if she works there anymore. Last week Tomika called when I was on a phone call at work. I was not able to answer the call. She sent an email requesting for me to respond with a convenient time for her to call. I responded to her within a few minutes to call me at 4:30. Did not receive a call that day, or the day after. On Saturday I received yet another certified notice from the IRS. I immediately sent Tomika an email expressing my frustration. She actually replied to me that evening with a message that "she doesn't work weekends" and told me to give her a time on Monday she could call. I told her I would be available at 1:00. Monday morning she sent an email asking what time zone I was in. I replied Eastern. Guess what - no phone call!!! I sent her a message later that afternoon explaining I was in the Eastern time zone in the United States (in case she was confused). Today is Thursday and I still have not been contacted!! I came home this evening with a notice from the IRS stating they are putting a lien on me. All I did by using this sham of a company was put a big target on my back! I am so frustrated! Shame on you! To top it all off they screwed up filling out my taxes several times because obviously they didn't take the time to read the tax organizers I filled out at the beginning of this process. That is what their business is! I will be contacting the BBB. Don't be fooled by the good reviews, they make sure you send one at the beginning of your case. Deal with the IRS on your own, you would be better off!!!

I wish I could give a NEGATIVE star. I paid them 500.00 to go to the IRS for me, 2+ months they never returned my calls. when I finally did get to talk to someone they said my case had been closed, stating that they did not receive my paperwork. this was BS because I had gotten a call about refaxing 2 pages. I do have confirmation that everything went thru. they had no problem with them taking my money, but they sure did have a problem with contacting me. we will see how long it takes to get my refund. faxing over a signed paper and I stated I wanted my money back in 4 days. being on a limited income, people beware of scams.

In September 2019 I agreed to use services offered by Tax Defense Network. I then consulted my accountant and was advised that the issue could be easily resolved on my own. Same day I signed agreement I called Tax Defense agent back and cancelled the service. Almost four months later they have taken a fee of $810 from my checking account. Their lousy reason for this was “the agent noted on your account that you were undecided”. This makes absolutely no sense. They have agreed to refund the money, but it resulted in an overdraft and fees charged with my bank. My advice is beware. They appear to be shady crooks. If the business is in any way legit, they wouldn’t have to lie and steal from people. Disgusting!

If I could leave a negative star I probably would! I have been more than patient with this company. For starters when I agreed to use this company I was assured and reassured that I would not have to pay the back taxes on the federal, only the state. The first person who helped me I could never reach, would never return my calls ect. My tax consultant changed 2 other times before Alex took my case. I will say he has been good. He is sometimes hard to reach but I’m sure he is busy. He has been honest about everything and helpful. However the first person who had my account never filed one of the years on my taxes. I had a deadline due to a state license that I hold and I ended up fixing everything myself which was a nightmare!!! (Alex did help get that year filed but that’s all) after that was fixed I was then informed I would be paying not only all of my state taxes back (which is fine I knew that from the beginning)but my all of my federal as well... ok I owe it, it is what it is if I have to pay it so be it..... That isn’t what I’m pissed about..... I’m mad bc Since the first guy messed up filing my taxes or IN THIS CASE NOT FILING them. I now have two tax liens, a garnishment, and they made my w4 where I claim 0 and I can’t change it at all. I have expressed my concerns with no response except from Alex who can’t help me any further with this particular issue. It’s been 48hrs and I am still waiting. I wish I would have never used this company and wasted 3k on something I could have done myself!

At the start it seamed that there was no real direction to go. It was like i was the first customer that had this problem. The answers came from California Franchise Tax office... as to what we needed to do. Once that was communicated to TDN we were able to focus on getting the correct documentation. TDN was helpful in getting that all filled out.

I contacted the Tax Defense Network in 2017 because we had a tax debt the was more than our combined annual salaries. They set up a loans for over $4000. PLUS INTEREST. That I am currently still paying and we received nothing from them. Little to no communications and when we asked question or wanted additional help it was always an additional fee attached, So we started with 20,000. owed to the IRS and as they have wiped their hands of us currently, We still owe the loan they got for us over 2000. and now our IRS debt is over 60,000. I kid you not, we were advised that the only resolve he could help us with is to stop collections. We will still have levies and liens and the interest will continue to accumulate. We just have to wait 10 years to see if they will cancel the debt or remove it off of us. we barely make 60,000 combined. RIP off I am so sorry I contacted them. I am so disappointed

I am very,very unhappy with Tax Defense. They have done nothing but get me into a contract to pay them. They have not gotten my taxes reduced and advised me to pay the IRS monthly as well as pay them. They could have been honest like Optima Tax, once they learned that I was on an installment plan with the IRS they told me that they could not help me. They appear to only want your money, they didn't help me, I will still have to pay the IRS the amount I presented to them, they got me no relief, just got me owing them thousands of dollars as well. I would not recommend them to anyone, the are not honest.

We have had absolutely no help after paying $2700 to your company . We were told last dec that our 15 and 16 taxes were closed with zero balance owed. In April of this year got a notice from irs stating we owed $26.000. A “mistake” on your part. We have been sent from person to person on our case. Couldn’t get our original case worker to respond to our issues. A complete letdown. Now after nothing done since April we are having to pay $480 a month for who knows how long. Very upset and feel like we were taken advantage of after our initial payments were made. Nothing absolutely nothing was done to lessen our amount or even interest! We work hard for our money and expected your company to do the same to help us out.

I don't really have much good to say about TDN. I took on there service in March of 2018 to help with my huge tax problem to the tune of $30,000. I had to take out a $6000 loan to pay for TDN services. To make a long story short I paid $6000 to TDN to negotiate a payment plan to the IRS. This is something I could have done myself with the IRS. I hired TDN to negotiate my tax bill down to a affordable level. They didnt do it. I owed the IRS $30,000 dollars from the beginning and now due to hiring TDN I can add a additional 6k to my tax bill. Think twice before hiring these crooks. Thanks TDN for doing absolutely nothing

IF I COULD RATE THIS COMPANY A "0" STAR I WOULD. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE JANUARY. I PAY EVERY MONTH FOR SERVICES THAT ARE LESS THAN WHAT THEY HAD EXPRESSED TO ME WHAT WOULD BE NEGOTIATED. THE AGENTS THEY SENT ME TOO IN NJ HAVE BEEN SNOTTY ON THE PHONE. EMAILS SUCH AS "LETS GO, I NEED THIS INFORMATION" THEY REFILED MY TAX'S AND SENT THEM TO THE IRS AND THEN SETTLE A DEAL WITH THE IRS FOR MORE THAN THE 1040S THEY SENT IN TO THE IRS. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?? HOW AM I STILL PAYING THIS RIDICULOUS PLACE EVERY MONTH FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS. I ASKED OVER AND OVER TO BE REASSIGNED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE NJ AGENT WAS NOT DOING WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. NOTHING HAPPENS. I RECIEVE A LETTER STATING THAT AFTER MONTHS OF NEGOTIATING WITH THE IRS THIS IS THE MOST THEY WILL COME TO TERMS WITH... BULL.. THE IRS HAS THEN NOTED SPEAKING TO THEM 2 TIMES AND THE LAST TIME THEY SPOKE TO THEM WAS IN APRIL.. HOW DOES THAT WORK? THE IRS HAS NOT EVEN FINISH PROCESSING THE 1040 THAT WERE FILED BY THE NJ AGENT.. BUT YET THEY SETTLE A DEBT ON INFORMATION THAT IS NOT CORRECT. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM AT ALL.

I am unhappy with my experience and have already shared this a few times with your company. You keep sending me a review also as if you didn't receive the others I sent. I was promised things and pushed hard to enter into an agreement with your office that would reduce my tax debt. No tax debt was reduced and you set up a plan that will undoubtedly fail in the near future. I am in more tax debt now and I'm out the $5000 you charged me as well. I do have a payment agreement set up with the IRS now but I had one before that I had set up with them that was much better. Now the payments that IRS are requiring are too high for me to possibly make.

I am so sorry I ever trusted these people to help me. Of course they got paid almost$4,000. up front so what's their hurry?!? December, 2018 is when I contacted them. Today is July 18, 2019. Still no resolution. I'm actually on hold right now with the IRS. I am tired of waiting, I'll talk to them myself. When this is resolved I will be calling the BBB. The last time I got an email from them it was for my 2018 1040. I faxed it to them months ago. I haven't heard a word since! Meanwhile I'm paying monthly payments for the loan they arranged for me so they'd be paid. I will always voice my experience with the tax defense network!
