In 2020, Sigora Solar acquired Sacramento-based Aztec Solar, one of the longest-running residential solar providers in the nation.

Financing Options

Sigora Social offers solar power systems with $0 down and 100 percent financing available, with low monthly payments. According to the Sigora Social website, a solar power system can increase a home's value by up to 5 percent.

Financing through Sigora Solar also qualifies the homeowner for certain tax incentives and tax credits, namely the Federal Solar Tax Credit, which can offset solar system installation costs by up to 26 percent.

Certifications and Awards

Sigora Solar is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Such a certification demonstrates solar installation training, experience, and having passed a rigorous photovoltaics exam.

Sigora Solar is also a certified contractor with Pearl Advantage and BPI GoldStar, as well as a certified Tesla Powerwall installer. Pearl certifies a small number of top-tier firms that do high-quality work, ensuring that each is equipped with professional training and quality control processes. BPI GoldStar contractors adhere to a set of standards to ensure quality and consistency. Tesla Powerwalls can store solar energy for later use, such as at night or during a power outage.

Furthermore, in 2020 Solar Power World named Sigora Solar the #1 solar company in Virginia and the #22 solar company in the United States.

Guaranteed Results

Sigora Solar financially guarantees the results of its solar power systems. The company guarantees that the solar power system will produce a certain amount of energy in the customer's contract. After the system has been on and activated for 12 full calendar months, the customer can request a review of the system's performance. If the system hasn't generated the promised amount, Sigora Solar will reimburse the customer double the difference.

In order to guarantee results, Sigora Solar sources solar components from leading manufacturers. These include solar inverter producers like SMA and SolarEdge, and solar panel manufacturers like Q CELLS, whose solar cells come with a competitive, 25-year equipment warranty.

Battery Storage

In addition to rooftop solar panels, Sigora Solar also installs energy storage solutions from Tesla. The Tesla Powerwall remains one of most efficient solar backup batteries on the market, and comes with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

Widespread Availability

Sigora Solar provides renewable energy to homeowners in the following states:

  • California
  • Florida
  • Indiana

  • Maryland
  • New York
  • North Carolina

Referral Program

Current Sigora Solar customers who refer new customers to the company can receive rewards via the referral program. Five customer referrals will result in a $100 gift card. If a new customer has solar panels installed, the referring customer will receive $500. Two installations get the referring customer $1,000, while three installations result in a $2,000 reward.

Sigora Haiti

Sigora Solar works with customers to bring electricity to people living in rural Haiti. Through the company's Produce + Reduce package, each purchase of a solar power system also provides one for a family in Haiti.

The Bad

  • Limited Sigora Solar Reviews
  • Undisclosed Workmanship Warranty

Limited Sigora Solar Reviews

Though Sigora Solar has developed a competitive and widely available solar program for homeowners across the country, and has been in business for at least a decade, few verified reviews could be found that speak to the solar company's solar installation quality and customer service.

Undisclosed Workmanship Warranty

Sigora Solar does not as yet disclose its workmanship warranty, which would protect homeowners from paying for damage caused during the installation process. Leading solar companies cover the workmanship of their systems for up to 25 years.

The Bottom Line

With a focus on technology, service, and competitive pricing, Sigora Solar installs residential and commercial solar power systems across 11 states in the mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

The company has received a number of awards and certifications that demonstrate its experience and dedication to customer service and high quality standards, including from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, Pearl Advantage, BPI GoldStar, Tesla, and Solar Power World.

Sigora Solar provides a generous guarantee for its systems, paying double the difference if an installed solar power system doesn't produce the promised amount of energy in the first 12 calendar months after the system has been activated. Furthermore, current customers who refer new customers to the company can receive up to $2,000.

The company also provides electricity to a family in rural Haiti for every purchased solar power system.

Homeowners interested in saving money on their electric bill through solar panel installation — particularly those interested in giving back through their purchase — may find a clean energy solution with Sigora Solar. We encourage readers to check out the latest Sigora Solar reviews to see how this solar installer compares with top companies in the solar industry.

This company has exhibited poor workmanship on install and lack of communications. They are doing thing to bypass standard inspections to move ahead with project that is 4 months behind. We have expressed to several staff that we wanted to terminate agreement and got no responded. Now they are saying that we only had 3 days to cancel after agreement was signed. That is weeks prior to any work being executed. Now they are attempting to strongarm us into continuing with them. Please run from this company, We also referred a good friend whom is now moving to cancel prior to install because of the same lack of communications exhibited by this company. PLEASE TO YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE PRIOR TO ANY INTERACTIONS WITH SIGOR SOLOR LLC. We have also filed complaint with the BBB.

One star is too much for Sigora! I signed a contract with Sigora a year ago to install solar at my home. Sigora never did any work, and now I am being charged through their finance company Mosaic for solar that was never installed. They won't even return my phone calls. My next call is to our Attorney General, Jason M!

Worst company I have ever worked with in my entire life. The worst customer service, follow up, and the worst results..The biggest waste of money in my entire life. My units break often, they do not produce as promised and my electric bills are over $400 a month even with panels--how is this possible. I'm a Realtor and know what people with similar sized homes spend on electricity. DO NOT USE SIGORA SOLAR! They are SO FRIENDLY and nice and accommodating until they get your money and then it is TERRIBLE!

Their warranty does not cover parts. I chose the battery backup option. My batteries failed within 1.5 years. Sigora will not repair and blames the Manufacturer which was LG and will not do anything.

Sigora's panels are super noisy in the wind. When asked to check the installation they demanded $350 prepayment. Basically Sigora doesn't support their work, they just cash your check and you are on your own.
