Ira Zuniga ,

Just cancelled direct tv after over 20 yrs with them..they had been reaching out to me to work out a better deal for me. I finally had time today and the best they could do was to offer me cellphone service!??? I have had premiere packet the entire time and Belle the customer rep said I should call at the end of month amd ask again. Did not allow me to speak to a supervisor. I guess loyalty has an expiration date like they say.. I feel good in my decision, ATT has ruined Direct TV customer service.

Wish I could have gave them a 0 rating. I was a very loyal customer for over 14 years paying nearly 200.each month which was extremely high so I found a new company with better rates. The day I had my new service installed we disconnected the direct tv and called them and cancelled so now their saying I still need to pay them for the month I didn't have their services and they have turned me into a collection agency for 177. I tried to dispute it but they still want me to pay for services I didn't have

If I could give 0 stars I would. The service is crap. Customers service is even worse. They lie and say and do whatever they can to get me off the phone. I was offered a 155.43 credit on my account which miraculously disappeared 2 days later with no record of said credit. Their solution was to offer me a $76 credit after 3 hours dealing with them on the phone, I cancelled . Especially since it was their equipment that was crapping out for the month. If you are looking for service....run as far and as fast as you can from this shady company!

Dave ,

I've been a loyal customer since 2003. My monthly bill increases yearly. There are no incentives for being a loyal customer. Once you're locked in, they will continue to gouge you. Depending on who you talk to will depend on your answer. I've received 6 different answers, talking to 6 different people in 2 months. The most recent lie was to call today for the best price, to find out that was a complete lie again.

I would allot less that 1 star if possible. I cancelled services with these clowns in January and they kept billing me for months. I called almost a dozen times to try and resolve this and was told each time they would take care of the incorrect billing. Nope - they then charged my credit card ... I contacted fraud and had the charge reversed and they sent me another bill. Real true incompetents - BAD COMPANY. Avoid at all cost. JUNK SERVICE and terrible customer support.

I have been with Direct TV for over 20 years and when AT&T took over prices jumped and programming declined. I am on SS and disabled and have the least expensive package which is mainly infomercials and the same repeated reruns . In the last 2mos. they have removed 5 of the few channels I watch without any notice. They no longer provide a decent programming line and charge outrageously for the packages they offer. I will be changing providers as soon as possible.

I felt like my bill was jerked around here and there . Prices of the bill would be higher one month or so and then it would just go back down after me calling in and arguing. Prices on the packages they offer that are available are expensive after the “promotion” is over. Customer service doesn’t really handle customers very well very Argumental

After 2 years with Direct TV, I was tired of seeing my bill continue to go up overtime. We decided to cancel. I canceled on April 17th. I just received a bill dated April 14-May 13 for the full monthly amount. I called and was told that they wont prorate the bill and would be responsible for the full month. So I am paying close to $200 for 3 days of service! Very poor customer service Direct TV/AT&T. As a result of how I was treated, you will be loosing me as a mobile phone customer too!

Absolutely the worst company to do business with. It is literally impossible to cancel this service without a penalty. They continually push the minimum cancellation date and make up things like 'you ordered new equipment' within 2 years (which I absolutely DID NOT). ANY changes you make to your account pushes the no penalty date out 2 years. I specifically waited 2 years to cancel and then got told it was another year out. BS!!! I will be posting this anywhere and everywhere I can.

At & T bought Directv and it's is not a good company anymore. They have over doubled my bill in one month no changes but will give a new costumer a low rate. Have had them for over 25+ years all but 1 yr. Pay my bill early never late. So if you think they will help you as a customer dream on. This company service and equipment below par now. Wouldn't even go into the nightmare of trying to get them to my house after I moved. Kept sending tech to old address etc. Box goes out you have to mail it back and they send you a new box, so no TV till it come after 3 days or more.

Horrible! They have done this x2 to us. Increase in our bill by 50$ Per month! DO NOT SIGN UP with them. After a promotion period they do not notify the customer that the period is up, they charge you two months at the higher rate even if you cancel with them. They will do NOTHING to help the customer out with the higher amount due, the phone representatives know very little of how to handle issues and basically just state that due to “company policy” they cannot change the bill.

I was a customer of Direct TV for 15 years. Never had any problems. I disconnected my service Oct. 2018 to travel for my job. I sent all equipment back in the box they supplied. Dec. 27, 2019 I get alert from Experian that Direct TV put me in collections for 472.00 for non returned equipment. Long story short... Direct TV found the equipment Jan. 5th 2020. Direct TV still has not reported this to the credit bureau's. My credit score has drop 22 points related to this incident....

While the service when working is OK, the maintenance support costs are not. When they send a technician to check a problem, it costs $99.00. If they find out that it is their equipment that broke, they still charge you $99.00, The warranty is only for 90 days. This means their equipment could break four times a year, and they could charge you $396 over and above your regular monthly fees every year. Nice rip-off scheme. I give you cheap equipment that continually breaks, and I make you pay for what is my fault.

Don't move, they will start a new contract on you, even though you still have the same account #. I had them over 1 year (2 yr contract) now they're charging me for 23 months, $460.00. I terminated because of the horrible customer service, (when you have to talk with 3-4 different people each time you call & repeat all the information/request.) Constant problems with my internet

Worst customer service team. I was switching to DirecTv to save money on internet and phone. I choose the Choice Bundle for $99.00. I was also told by sales person that I could get an App for my three other TV's at no charge and this would be part of order. Tech showed up and advises me they don't have an App like that. Finally service is in and I notice I don't have all the channels. I call DirecTv and I am told I did not order Choice and to upgrade would cost me $135.00 month. I was lied to and this is deceptive business practices! Totally disappointed!!!

Loyal customer for years. When I moved the last bill got lost in the move. Totally my fault. 40 minutes on the phone and it was squared away. 2 weeks later I receive a collection notice. 47 more minutes on the phone and rep tells me to call collection agency and pay again. Poor service and a total scam. I paid my 163.50 per month. They had the equipment back a month previous to their last bill.

DIRECTV sucks. Tonight I invited friends over to watch the Rams game. Well guess what we could not watch because of another problem with the network. All summer we had no Channel 8. In September no channel 3 for a few weeks and again no channel 3. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. We as customers pay good money for our service and should be getting what we are paying for. Not at all happy!!

Rep for company told me I could have extra pkg for channels for 7 dollars more a month. when they came to install there was no extra pkg and also done installing, they told me I had 30 days to cancel. Now this is 2 rep from Direct Tv/AT&T that fed me line of Bs. Tried to cancel because of this and would do nothing about the lies. I am paying ETF because it is worth getting rid of them. No telling how many more lies I would get told.

Not the same since AT&T took over. I was a 15 year subscriber and every year I went through the "I'm cancelling my service" dance to get competitive pricing. Over the last few years it seemed like the retention specialists had lessened authority and it was becoming increasingly more difficult to get past their offshore call center. This year when I asked to cancel service, their retention specialist was offshore! She was not very knowledgeable and didn't come close to matching my expiring discounts. So now I'm a Comcast customer. Maybe in 2 years I can completely cut the cord.

If your thinking about changing your cable service, STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTTV! I switched 2 months ago and it is a disaster, improper programing, missing local channels, unable to use app, did not receive sign up insensitive $300. Spent 8 plus hours on the phone with technical and customer service people. When I researched DirectTV I should’ve googled complaints. SERIOUSLY considering cancelling Direct TV & local AT&T phone after they stupidly blocked out the Cowboys preseason game on the NFL channel that I PAY EXTRA for.The reason it was blocked out was that AT&T wouldn't pay the local channel to be on Direct TV.SO WHAT? Bundled AT&T with Directv and then AT&T changed their policy allowing Directv to bill for an entire month if you did not cancel your service on the exact date that you contract ended. The service became so bad with the pixelating that it became impossible to watch the tv sometimes. Spent many times unplugging the receivers in order to even have service. This company is a complete sham and AT&T should be ashamed of themselves for associating themselves with such terrible service

Stay away from Direct TV unless you like being lied to and swindled. When I signed up, I was told that the bill would be $65.00 per month for the two year contract. I have had it for one year and today I received a bill for $142.75......more than double. They will not honor the price I was given and will only lower the bill to $117.00 per month for the next year. When my contract is up next June, I will have them remove their equipment and will never do business with this company again.

They started off with a very reasonable offer for a year. However, after that year, the price went up significantly. And they won't replace their own equipment. I don't understand that part. It's THEIR equipment. If it's not working, why should I have to pay them to get it fixed?

They recently added a extra charge for a "Regional Sports Charge" =$8.49 after raising rates also. I don't watch sports. I am considering a rival company because they will not remove this charge. I am a senior citizen, on a limited income, so I will need to shop around after 15 years. I first subscribed to DirecTv in 1997. Got the SAT-B2 And even installed it myself. For many years, DirecTv was an awesome company. Key word, was. Since the merger with AT&T, I have the total opposite view. The way it's ran, total garbage. Not so much the people who I've had to speak to throughout the time since the merger. They can never find our account for some reason even though we've called and tried to have it fixed about 5 times. It's also a huge process to order movies, it never works on our phones although it says it went through at which point we have to call and wait on the phone for about a half hour to an hour while we are transferred 20 times. I would give negative stars if it were possible. This has by far been the worst company I have ever dealt with. The customer service has been horrible. By the way, when you sign up for a 2yr contract and are given special 24 month promotions, make sure you add on a new service at the 12 month mark or they will take away those 24 month promotions. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Try to speak to a supervisor you get the run around. I just wanted internet but they told me I had to answer questions about my TV viewing. I said "I don't want TV. Let me speak to a supervisor" after 35 minutes I said that I would take my business elsewhere. Then she tried once more to speak to her supervisor who would not speak to me but told her to quote me $1000/month for internet only. AT&T ones them. I am 43 years old and have to say Directv has the worst customer service I have ever experienced to date. I signed up at 2:30pm on a Monday and cancelled everything by 8:00pm. Couldn't understand their representatives because of such thick accents and they put me on hold for 20 min. at a time. No one could help me with the technical problems with watching online and several times got disconnected after 30-40 min. and had to start all over again.
