This is the worst company ever I had for appliances home warranty. I have them for 2 years and I called them 3 times: one for my bathroom faucet, one for my stove, one for my cloth washer. BUT they never fix anything, and they told me that my appliances is too old to be fixed. Every time I make countless calls and explain the situation, but they are super slow, do not understand, do not help at all. They always find a way to reject your claim or assign a bad technicians who do not know what they are doing. It is my mistake because I bought 3 years policy and I could not get any refund. Every claim I have made has been rejected. The last claim I filed was to fix my cloth washer machine since March 23, 2020, till today 06-18-2020 they did not fix it or even send anyone to help. They open multiple claims for the same problem but never fix it, I opened Claim #01 in March (closed) & Claim #: 02 in May (closed) and # 03 on June 2020 Complained to many managers, but nothing been fixed. SATAY AWAY.

I highly recommend staying away from this company. During the sales process, sales will be chasing you and offering discounts but when its time to open claim, you will notice that most of your claims will be denied. There are several loop holes in the contract that have you stuck and leaves a customer helpless. I have been with them for over 2 years with a total of 4 claims - all denied ( only one accepted eventually) that too was a nightmare. What are are told is covered by sales people is not what is actually covered and claims department will tell you different story. Reps can also get rude and raise their tone on calls. The company is bogus and I would not want any of you to have to go through what I did.

My AC went out on May 27th, 2020. Called my normal AC Person and he diagnosed the problem as the compressor is locked up. Called the Claims and filed a claim. They did contact me with the claim number. Then did not get back to me for two days and said they were having problems with getting a technician out and had assigned it to a local hvac person and said that it would be a week before they could get out. I called the hvac person and the had time on Tuesday evening. They did not call in the report to Select. I gave up on them and told select that I could have a company come out. Thay gave me the information to use my on contractor but would only allow a fee of $100.00 and anything over would have to be approved. Here it is June 15 and I still do not have AC. I got a notice to provide maintenance records and pictures for the last three years. I sent them information for the claim, and today they said that in the clause. That they would only pay $150.00 for not providing the proper maintenance records. They use every little which way to get out of pay the claim by using an obscure hidden clause in their contracts. So I have to pay $3300.00 to have my AC fixed my self. I had coverage since Sep 2018 to Sep 2020, and this is how I am treated. This was not the first claim in dealing with them. I had a water well go out and had paid the extra premium to cove it and they had another clause in the contract the they would only pay $400.00 on it. Please read the contract before purchasing. They have their game to not pay claims. They Get you hooked then it is holy heck after that.

I am a new customer. Submitted my first claim over a week ago. They sent out a technician they contranct with. It took him three days to get out here. He supposedly fixed my refrigerator with a blow dryer. The next day I had the same problem. Called them back, he said he submitted a request for a part that had to be approved. I called Select they said they approved it. I talked with the techician again, he said he was on his way to pick up the part and would call me to schedule a time to come out. That was four days ago. I am not a happy customer!!!! Plan to cancel if I ever get this problem resolved.

What a bunch of crooks!! AC went out. They sent out a tech to look at it. Said that the condenser was bad and the coil was also bad, causing Freon to leak from the system. They used this to deny the claim saying that the policy did not cover leaks. The leaks did not cause the unit to fail, the failure was from the condenser and coil. The first tech did not even send the paperwork to the company, so they sent out another company, who said the same thing....failure of coil and condenser. Still denied the claim. Don't fall into this trap...listen to the complaints from people who have been screwed already.

Horrible and got cheated one more time. I Paid for 5 years nearly $1800 and got trapped. I called for AC failure for my rental property and their tech could not come in time, so i called my HVAC company. It was thermostat failure and thermostat got repalced. The tech injected Freon b/c the levels were low in the old unit. They lumped both problems to gether and denied the whole claim, although thermostat is a covered entity.I had to pay nearly $900 and totally got denied! After dealing with this company for 2 years, I Advocate Nobody should get into this trap. They only cover things worth $100 and the purpose of getting warranty is not there

We had a three year contract which said the agreement that several items would be covered with parts and ;labor or replace by local technicians . After 2 years I called in my 1st claim for my AC I was informed after waiting 10 days that Select did no have a technician in my area NJ (not on the moon) i was told to get my own local guy and take care of it .That in part 2 of their agreement so why did I pay for this service I will have to wait not only for my own repairman but 30 days for my prorated refund This coming is a joke . They also don't pay for top rated repairman that is why they cannot get any in my area I wasted my money on this scam Don't fooled by this outfit read the fine print before you agree to anything

Select home worenty is one of the worst companies out there; be wornd people! I made a clame for my plumbing issue and AC unit on the 10th of May. I called them back on May 13th to find out when a technician was going to come fix my plumbing and AC issues. I was told they are still looking but in the mean time if I can find my own technician and have them call once they get to the house and have a diagnosis. Which I did; they told me they will cover the cost and just to send them the invoice. I received an email early morning on May 14th that they will not cover the plumbing issue because my technician had to go under the house to unscrew the clogged pipe to clean it out properly. On my AC, I was told they don't cover freeons and I did not get paid back the difference for the service calls. The service calls was 85 $and select home worenty service call is only 45$ I did not get the difference back. My contract expires in July I will definitely not renew with them. The best experience I had so far with a home warranty company is Choice!

They are thieves! I had the policy for a year and never made a claim. During my second year, I had a plumbing lead under the sink. They sent out a service provider. He said that they are taking up to 24 hours to send approvals. However, this kind of leak has always been covered, so they fixed it so we would have the use of our kitchen sink. The next day Select Home Warranty denied the claim. The leak in the plumbing under the sink included replacing the valve on the hot water side. Evidently, I needed an additional policy for the valve attached to the plumbing line. Honestly, who would think to look for coverage for a valve in a typical lead in the plumbing line. They are unethical and misleading. STAY AWAY!

A COMPANY WHO IS JUST CHEATING THE CONSUMERS IN THE NAME OF INSURANCE !!!!!!STAY AWAY!!!! I had this insurance for almost last two years , I had my air conditioner and furnace not working last week. I called them and then send the technician out and they said they cannot cover both air conditioner or Furnace because there was crack in the heat exchanger. I said I can pay for the heat exchanger and asked them to fix the rest of the issues with the Furnace but they just said they cannot do anything about it. They also closed the claim for airconditioner saying the carbon monoxide gas is leaking so they cannot fix airconditioner. I have multiple carbon monoxide alarms in my house but none of it went off. They will just say some weird reason and deny the claim. They dont really care about the customers and their representatives are just trained to deny the claim for consumers. I am really planning to go to court as this is cheating of the consumers. I have never had such an experience with any company in my entire life. PLEASE STAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

My experience has been a nightmare. They all read from the same script and no one has any sincere motivation to help. They do not take ownership of the issue or do anything to help resolve the problem from the call taker to the supposed "managers." For the last 5 days I've been unable to get a name for a technician to come to my home and repair my refrigerator. Every service company they have given me to make an appointment with as denied working with them when I call. I call back to get another tech and am given the same 24-48 hour call back time. I asked for supervisor escalation which was absolutely pointless. I would never recommend this company to anyone. We've had the warranty for one year and this is only the second repair that we've needed and they have been absolutely no help in getting my repair done.

BEWARE of Select Home Warranty (SHW) before purchasing for your home warranty needs. I had an issue with my pool plumbing. I was told by my pool technician that I need repairs due to the pump not working because the valves were cracked and leaking. The original installation of the valves did not permit to have just one valve replaced as they were placed too close together. I called SHW and explained the situation as well as the cost of $468. The rep told me I could use my own technician and to turn in the diagnosis and the paid receipt for reimbursement. Now I get the response from SHW and it says they will not pay for anything because I used my own technician. This was the primary reason I called SHW first before authorizing and paying for the repairs. Very shady business!

This company has bad customer service. You will experience multiple phone calls with agents who give you the run around. This company doesn't honor their word. They use there contract terms to get them out of making repairs to customers appliances. The most unprofessional experience I had. I bought into their sales pitch and ended up buying the most expensive coverage they had and still had to pay for my own repairs because there contract allows them to weasle their way out due to the way its structured. Horrible, save your money and avoid the agony. You will be stressed out trying to get them to repair your appliance.

Do not purchase a warranty from this company they will deny every claim. If I could give them zero stars I would. They look for any reason possible to deny your claim. Wev've had several other companies and decided to give Select a try and its the worst mistake we have made. On 4/12/20 I saw a very small amount of water coming from around our 17 year old water heater (average life span of water heater 10-12) alerting me to an internal failure of the water heater. We purchased a home warranty so I was not worried I called my husband and he called in the problem. We were immediately denied per the exclusion in their contract however I feel like it should be cover. select home warranty section 6.2.7 states "Water Heater. This Agreement covers ALL modules, components and parts of the water heater necessary to the functionality of the water heater. (i) Control board (ii) thermostats (iii) gas valves (iv) burner assembly (v) heating elements (vi) pressure switches (vii) thermocouple (viii) ignition module (ix) and igniter Excluded: solar or tankless water heating systems, leaks, and pumps" I would argue that the tank is a part directly related to the functionality of a water heater and per the warranty all parts related to functionality are cover. If the tank did not fail we would not have had the "leak". I believe select home warranty is violating their contract by not covering the tank because of the secondary "leak". The technician sent by select stated our water heater was in excellent condition especially considering the age of the unit. If a 17 year old well maintained water heater well past the average life span of a water heater fails and is not covered by the warranty company what is the purpose of having a warranty. We purchased a warranty for peace of mind knowing "if" a major appliance fails we would be covered, however select home warranty will use any means to deny a claim. We thought we were protected but select home warranty is the worst home warranty company we have ever purchased a home warranty from.

Oh my gosh! I signed up with Select Home Warranty towards the end of December, 2019. Once I read through the agreement I had questions about required maintenance on certain appliances. So, I contacted an agent to discuss my questions and after not receiving satisfactory answers decided to cancel the 2 plans I had purchased. He told me his supervisor could better answer my questions and would call me. I never received a call and wondered if my policies had been cancelled or not. Unfortunately, the plans had not; and charges to my credit card continued. With everything happening with the virus, I lost track of things but my attention was brought back to Select Home Warranty when my CC was hacked. I again reached out to SHW to cancel my plans, as the CC was no longer valid and further charges to the CC would be denied. I spoke with three agents. I believe the first was the agent I originally spoke with in January. He told me I would be issued a refund. After speaking with 2 other agents, I learned that, in January, notes were entered in the system saying that I called to cancel my plan but decided to keep it...NOT THE TRUTH!! Perhaps I kept the plan by default, but I NEVER decided to keep it. Oh, by the way, I had plans on two homes, so my not following up on SHW cost me $333.36 Apparently, I won't be receiving any form of a refund but I am grateful that my plans are finally cancelled... ... So, right before posting this, I decided to check my e-mail. Yes, the two policies are cancelled. Plus I received an e-mail that one month's fees will be refunded...since my CC is not valid, hope a check is issued. Stay healthy out there!

I have nothing but bad experience with this company!! I called at the end of March to have my furnace looked at and they couldn’t get someone out to my house. So my furnace failed tonight and I had to call my own company to have them look at it. Now I’m being told that they won’t be fixing my furnace at all! This is ridiculous! I am pregnant and have no heat!! What was the point of having a home warranty if you aren’t going to cover my furnace at all?! And the lady I was talking to hung up on me, no one seems to know what they are doing. If I could give this company negative stars I would!!

Do NOT buy ANY warranty plan from Select Home Warranty! It's a waste of money because they use every excuse to not pay. The sales agents do a great job of selling you what seems to be a great product then when you have a claim they wear you down with horrible customer service (non-fluent English speakers). It is impossible to have a productive conversation with these representatives. They are not transparent about services fees or any other fees. Save your money and time. This has been one of the MOST FRUSTRATING experiences ever and we just ended up paying out of pocket for our broken water heater. NEVER AGAIN. It's just not worth the frustration and time. It makes me sick and sad that a company can get away with this but you live and learn. If you're on the fence, learn from all the reviews!

Very poor service even at this time of this Corona Civid 19 crisis I got this contract last year March 2019, didnt have any problem until the beginning of March year my refrigerator broke the service came out I paid my deductible which was cashed already I was approved 150.00 to have refrigerator repaired or to use on purchase of another refrigerator. I opted for the repair and the part needed was ordered. It was due to arrive by March 28th and since friday I have had no luck texting and calling repairman and three days speaking with Select n still no one has offered me a solution. I'm a senior citizen with diabetes, my food got spoiled waiting on these people. I've had it.

We have had this company come out 1 time and tried for a second time regarding another issue. When we first contacted them, the salesperson, told us the fee for the coverage we wanted, the best they have, and told me that they charge service fee of $75 were then covered, and their advertisement said "all repairs are covered and you will never have to pay for parts and services ever again. Our first encounter cost us the $75 and $#61 for the part and another $75 to wire and replace it. Our second call was for the AC unit. Thet did not have an emergency service to evaluate the water dripping from the ceiling. We had to pay for a local company to evaluate the issue and address the costs. After the tech left, sent Select Home Warranty the bill and explanation of the repairs needed. A part that was needed is covered by the AC manufacturer but they would not do the repair since it is not covered under our contract for this part! I demanded they reimburse me for the emergency repairs and refund me fully for an unfulfilled contract. Still waiting. Do not hire any of these home warranty companies because they do not honor contracts, but want your yearly in full immediately I give them a0 out of ten.

Misleading and deceptive. Most of the representative do not speak English clearly, so you have a hard time communicating. You get passed around to alleged different departments who have no idea what the previous representative spoke about, promised you or agreed upon. There has not been a single claim that has not been denied. You receive emails instead of someone explaining why you were denied. The vendor who came out to repair my washer and dryer was on a conference call to explain to SHW that my claim was covered. After being dismissed several times, the vendor asked them to remove his company off of their list. Vendor called me back and apologized for the lack of professionalism. Went on to say that they have been seeing customers get ripped off for years and enough was enough.

I reported this claim for my washer over a month ago & the first repair co. told select home warranty they couldn't accept any new claims, but they didn't notify me until I called them back. I had to call the 2nd repair person, he was ill the first week I was scheduled with him, but he finally came out on Tuesday, 3/24/2020, told me he would tell select home warranty what was wrong. I had to send photos of my washer that they said they received Friday, 3/27/2020, but my claim was under review because of the age of the washer. I told them when I reported the claim that the washer was purchased in June of 2002 & has not ever even needed repair. I was told Friday, 3/27/2020, the claim was under review to see if they would fix or replace it at all. I'm not pleased!!!

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We paid for the full service (gold) package. It was something like $695 for a year. We tried filing a claim when our washing machine broke down. No response for a week, then a email saying that they were sending a handyman (I checked when he didn't show, no such business within 500 miles) Then this winter our furnace broke down when it was well below -15. Tried to contact them but no response. Tried calling no luck. I ended up having to call a service tech and it ended up costing $3500 for a new furnace. Select has on 5 occasions told me that they were going to contact me in 24 hours. Never happened. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Don't hire these con men.

My complaint is a truth and really more "transparency" in advertising with Select Home Warranty. Throughout there whole policy and advertising they claim to provide reimbursement for home item failures (minus a deductible). In their policy they claim that the "age" of equipment does not matter. Here is the excerpt from the policy : My home system and appliances are old. Does that matter to Select? No, the age of a home or its systems and appliances does not matter to Select. We cover items that are in good working condition at the time you purchase the plan and properly maintained. Plus, Select covers all makes and models of appliances and systems. Then there is a loop hole in language here : Section 8 : ii. In the event a covered system or appliance is deemed irreparable or it is not cost effective to repair, Select may replace the system or appliance with a system or appliance of like capacity, the price of which shall not exceed the depreciated value of the system or appliance being replaced; iii. In lieu of replacing a system or appliance that is deemed irreparable or it is not cost effective to repair, said determination being made by Select, Select may choose to pay a cash settlement for the irreparable component of the system or appliance. Select is not responsible for installation. The cash settlement shall be in an amount not to exceed the depreciated value of the component/appliance being replaced. Here is the situation. My house is 17yrs old. My water heater stopped working and a part needed to be replaced. SHW stated that the depreciated cost of the unit was only $150 and they would only cover repairs to that unit up to that amount. Anything above is my responsibility and also acknowledged that a new unit would be upwards of $400 without install. When asked to understand the deprecation schedule they would not share info on that. Talking to the SHW rep, they said sometimes claims are denied because of "age"....This is the issue...

This company is a fraud! There contract is full of loop holes they use to get out of paying for repairs. Their customer service rep has been argumentative and rude, her supervise lied to me when said he got things approved, long hold times, even the contractor they had come out ended up refusing to work with them and they still have not found a business that will work with them. It has been weeks since my dishwasher broke. There are several “taxes” and “service charges” they stick you with when you call them for repairs. They have never done anything but take my money and keep me on hold. Do NOT be fooled by these con artists.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. I was contacted over the phone and the salesman read off all that was covered and I was very impressed so I purchased a multi-year plan. I was never sent the policy despite several requests. 3 weeks ago we made our first claim for our air conditioning not cooling. We called Select and they gave us a number for a A/C company. When we called, they refused to come out saying Select owed them a lot of money. The second contractor wouldn't even take our calls. Finally another contractor did come out and said we had a Freon leak and he would seek approval from select to find and repair the leak. Select refused stating a clause in our agreement (one I've never received) that excludes leak repair or Freon replacement. Why would anyone buy a policy with such exclusions. Take my word for it don't purchase a policy from this company. Horrible customer service.

Should be zero at best. Purchased home warrantee through title company two months prior but hadn’t heard anything. I reached out to verify I had coverage. They had my name, city and zip but couldn’t tell me the house address the home warrantee was purchased for (interesting). I also felt like I was talking to scammers. I was told my account wasn’t activated yet by multiple individuals (bounced around several times). After research, reading reviews and then this confusing interaction I decided to cancel and asked for a full refund (based on being told it hadn’t been activated). Then (after being bounced again) the cancelation department claimed that the account was active over two weeks ago. This was only AFTER I said I wanted to cancel (very interesting). Since it was supposedly activated I would be charged a $75 cancelation fee and the refund would also be prorated. I am thankful I don’t have a current claim and should be thankful that I at least get something back. Definitely going somewhere else. I do feel bad for their employees because I am sure they get blasted constantly.

Select Home Warranty (SHW) is a verified scam company that preys on honest trusting customers and especially seniors who are lured by the misleading web ads and their ten fictitious Best in Service award sponsors. From my research I would claim that over 95% of SHW customers quickly realize that once SHW has validated their credit card for the $500.00 year contract that these trusting consumers are going to be in for the shock of their lives when they file their first claim. As consumers we expect that a majority of Businesses are honest and focused on repeat customers and reoccurring revenues. SHW customers feel relieved that once they have paid and signed the contract with SHW that their homes are now fully protected. Fully protected for the items that SHW claim are covered in their advertising propaganda and highlighted by their deceptive, lying sales people at the time of the sales process. The only thing that the SHW customers are protected from is getting their items fixed or getting their monies refunded, that is all they are protected from. This company is only interested in repairing and protecting the consumer’s home, their only intent is getting the person's money and providing the clients with nothing but excuses and inferior services. The technicians that they use are not professionals and/or not fully bonded and properly trained. SHW constantly looks for ways to deny claims, and only offers its clients pennies on the dollar for any repairs or cost of replacements of the warranted items. When customers call and complain regarding these insulting compensations amounts proposed by SHW, they are ignored and or left on hold for weeks or months at a time.

We had the worst experience with Select Home Warranty! Our newly bought rental house's A/C, which was inspected and working perfectly started giving problems! We contacted Select, they send A/C companies to contact us and they took forever or never called back. We were on the phone with Select and all the different companies on an ongoing basis. We had to pay these companies a service fee without getting our problem solved. Eventually we asked if we can use our personal A/C guy and yes Select came back with a list of things they don't cover on A/C's. Of course we eventually had to buy a new unit on our nickle with all the things they don't cover. This is the worst company we have ever dealt with. We have 7 rental houses and we keep them in tip top condition, had other warranty companies, but Select was the worst! We would never use or recommend them them to anyone, they suck!

I am a contractor in Idaho, this company is not a good company and has questionable business practices. I have personally seen them not take care of their customers and they try to find loop holes not to repair things covered on their warranty. This by far is the worst company I myself have ever worked for at anytime. I have personally seen them refuse to pay legitimate claims for their customers. They take 3-6 months to pay their contractors and sometimes they completely refuse to pay us at all. If anyone sees this review do yourself a favor and find a reputable company to do business with if you want a real review this is it! I see they have many reviews that are saying that they are great company. This by far is a very bad company. Yes O am a paying customer, because I have put money out to help this company try and repair real customer issues and they now refuse to pay me for my service. This is a very bad company

I have 3 claims that I filed at the end of December 2019 that are not being fulfilled. The claims involve 2 plumbing issues and 1 HVAC issue. The contractor that Select Home Warranty sent to me in December was a regular handyman not licensed for plumbing or HVAC. He did not fix anything and insulted me on top of that. Each week I have called Select Home Warranty for a status check on my claims. During one of the "reschedules", they tried to resend the handyman for the plumbing and then an appliance contractor for the HVAC system. I had to call them back again to straighten that out and, of course, they found out that the appliance contractor doesn't work on HVAC systems. I am consistently told that it will take up to 48 hours for them to find a technician. I have multiple emails stating "...we are still working on dispatching your claim and should have a Technician lined up shortly...". I have multiple emails stating "...your claim #... is presently open in our system ... In the event we do not receive a response within [7 / 2] days from the date of this email. We will consider this claim closed..." From what I'm guessing, based on my emails and phone calls, is that each time I call, they start the whole vetting process over.

We sustained a covered loss to our heating system 52 days after the contract started. Submitted a claim and received no callback. To date, we had to call select for any updates on the claim. Noticed the claim reimbursement had not been received after 30 days of submission. They denied the claim stating it was within 30 day waiting period. Obviously it is not and the waiting period would have been excluded because we had a carryover policy that ended 6 days after this policy started with HSA. They refused to allow us to talk to a manager or their attorney to resolve the claim, despite our proof in the contract that we were past the waiting period and had prior coverage that would waive the waiting period. They called back three different times to cancel the policy and charge us an early termination and pro rata fee. We refused and said they are refusing to comply with discovery in a now pending lawsuit for the claim by refusing us to speak with their supervision or attorney to clarify the contract and requirement to honor it. They are in breach of contract and when called out on this breach their response is to cancel and charge us. This is biggest scam company I have dealt with in 40 years! Stay away and go with someone reputable like HSA whom I had a claim with and had zero issues.

This company is essentially a scam.I signed contract with this company year ago. Few month ago my Water Heater start leaking. I signed contract where Water Heater is covered. My claim has been rejected, because in small letters in agreement they stated that only components covered not heater itself. Electrical Heater doesn't have components. So my claim rejected all together. Just 2 month ago, my furnace fan went bad. It took few days to get their mechanic on site. Mechanic took money and never show up again. They granted me to hire my own mechanic and perform repair. Once repair has been done, they reject to pay in full. The reason, they wanted maintenance records on official formal pager, for whole heating system where certified company should be listed, certified mechanic to be involved, complete mechanic notes, comments to be present with all details about performed job and all recommendations. It worth nothing that maintenance has nothing to do with electrical components. I provided list of all notes that mechanics left on my furnace for last 20 years, but they rejected it. To make story short, they rejected this claim as well and agreed to pay only $150 out of $560 my expenses. The way they formulate agreement, you will never get more than $150 in majority cases. So run away from this company. It is scam.

Select is a big scam company. I called them to fix my oven they gave me the runaround in two weeks before they can do anything. After the tech gave them the diagnosis. Which was two weeks later. Select Home Warranty Told me they couldn’t give me a answer yet unless I send them pictures of my stove. Once they receive the pictures of my stove they completely deny coverage Because my stove looked too expensive for them to cover. When I ask them why didn’t he just tell me that in the beginning when they receive the diagnosis and why did they ask me for pictures of my stove then denied it they said it was a mistake they didn’t really need the pictures. They lied about the coverage just so they wouldn’t have to pay to fix it they are a big scam stay far away from them you would need a lawyer to receive your money back they refuse to refund me anything back and closed my Case on my oven so they wouldn’t have to fix it they stole my money and scam me they are the worst company in the world. They deserve no stars if I could give no stars I would.

This is BY FAR the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I put in a claim, after paying for months on time premiums, on Dec. 26, 2019 for a dryer. After call after call and e-mail after e-mail I finally get them to send out a technician on Jan. 14, 2020 even though their standard answer is "within 24-48 hrs." It is now Jan. 30, 2020, still no fixed dryer and again I had to call to get them to do the job. Then I was told that if I cancel my subscription to this insurance, they will cancel the whole job, EVEN THOUGH I PUT IN THE CLAIM DEC. 26, 2019. So now I have paid another 2 payments waiting to get one claim done, any more stalling and I will have paid for it myself, which I have already since it is my first claim. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS INSURANCE CO. AS YOU CAN, OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. But don't take my word for it, sign up with them!! If I could give a negative star, I would.

Should be ZERO STARS!! After being in our new home for a little over a month our dishwasher began leaking. We called the home warranty people (who's call center is apparently in another country where they don't speak any English other than the phone script they are following) who told us to find someone on our end to fix the leak. After getting frustrated, yet nowhere on the phone with the CSR (customer service rep) we did reach out and had a technician come to our home. Of course the leak didn't occur while he was here and he was unable to diagnose it. A few days later after running the dishwasher, it leaked again, this time with enough water to cover our kitchen floor and into our newly renovated basement through the ceiling. We called Select Home Warranty. They assured us they would find a technician who would contact us. We never were contacted by anyone. We called Select Home Warranty again. Over and over this same scenario has been playing out. Here we are almost 2 months post not having a working dishwasher and the call center reps in whatever country they are located can't help us because they don't understand English well and when we ask for a supervisor, their supervisor always seems to be "gone" and they can only follow the script written in front of them. This is ridiculous. We are fed up. What good is a home warranty if they can't do anything?! At this point we just want a refund of our warranty and will use the money to go towards getting our own repair man or a new dishwasher. What a waste.

I bought a multi year contract in November 2019 to the tune of 1750.00. December 2019, my dishwasher needed repair. They sent a tech out who claimed to have repaired it, I paid the deductible, and SHW stated they never got the diagnosis code from the tech. They said they would send another tech out to do the repair at no charge. We're are now approaching February and making 3 calls each week to them. Each call they tell me they submit an escalation and I have to wait 24 to 48 hours to get a response. We're just go around in circles. No one follows up. They don't take ownership. They say their contractors are assigned based on availability. I asked to give me the contact name of 3 contractors and I'll call them myself and arrange repair. They refuse telling me dispatch has to do that. However, I can never ever talk to anyone in dispatch. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and I'll be seeking a complete refund including the 45.00 fee I paid and didn't get repaired. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY.

We have a three year old boiler that does not require maintainance until the 5th year. Then its just an inspection, No consumables, filters or cleanings needed. They want a inspection maintainance history for every year for the last three years even though none is required. They limit your coverage to $150 with out these even though nothing needs to be done. I spoke with their customer service and they indicated that if the service techican indicated that on the repair they would pay full repair costs. Now that its done they went back to the $150 limit because of no records. They are scammers misleading people into thinking they have good coverage and then don't cover repairs properly. STAY AWAY.

My initial experience signing up was wonderful, reading the reviews and the respect from the sales agent was wonderful. Well three weeks into it I didn't get my contract so I called and the Customer Service Rep ask me all theses questions, and I answered them. I said all I want is my contract for my records, and then she was short and abrupt. So I said I should cancel. She immediately transfer me to cancelation department. Didn't even try to say oh I'm sorry let me get that over to you. So I waited on hold for ten minutes and then hung up. Not less than thirty minutes did I get my contract. And so two month to today I was getting any heat and I submitted a claim for my heat, it was no issues. And now the contractor came out to repair and called to get approval he was telling them wear and tear and he said its normal. He was on the phone telling them he can't get no clearer than wear and tear. And so we tried to reach Management and was told no one is available, now how crazy is that? So the technician who was courteous and very helpful empathize with our dilemma and apologize as it wasn't his fault. I called again and ask for a Manager and Violet ask for my identification and then place me on hold for ten minutes and I hung up. This is the worse company I ever dealt with for a home warranty, and I canceled with American First because they were a little expensive that this company, but there worth it as I had them for ten years. I will never use or recommend Select home again.
