Follow up needs improvement- I recently put in a service request to have my microwave looked. A service technician came out and looked at the microwave and determined that the microwave need a part in order to fix and left. However, that same afternoon another service provider called to schedule an appointment to come out to take a look at the microwave. It would have been nice get a call or email from Oneguard to let us know that the first service provider couldn’t fix the microwave and a second one would be coming. The little things. By the way the second service provider did fix the microwave.

As my house has gotten older, it became necessary to hire various contractors to fix things that were breaking down from normal wear and tear. A friend told me about OneGuard Home Warranty and she was very happy with the service they provided. At first I was skeptical but I soon learned that it was worth spending the money. Do I wish the annual/monthly fee was cheaper? Of course, but when you compare it to the insurance premiums paid for house and car, I at least feel I am getting my money's worth because I pay one flat rate to the contractors instead of getting charged by the hour. Additionally, their customer service is great. Whenever I have a question about my policy, the customer service personnel are helpful.

OneGuard processed our claim quickly but the claims person was rude to my wife and myself on four separate occasions. We asked for an itemized invoice for our out of pocket cost, he didn't seem please that he had to go through the extra work to email us the invoice. His attitude towards us was very poor when we had phone conversations about the process and updates. Service and install was completed in 21 days which seems reasonable. Our experience might have been better if we would have had a different claims agent. TLC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning did a great job.

It would be five star but last two years hot water heater problems, one guard stated they would not authorize repair or replacement due to it was heating water, that want the problem color of water was brown at times and not heating hot finally last year it had to be replaced it stop working and began leaking, however excellent service on air conditioner fan was replaced within 24 hours before it totally broke down in 115 plus degree weather

During a warranty claim, they set me up quick with a contractor to fix my issue, however it was a bad contractor. I went around 3 days without hot water only to have the contractor cancel and try to reschedule. I don’t think this is one guards fault, but maybe they should look for the fastest available contractors for their customers. I called when the first contractor canceled and they set me up with someone who was out and next day and fixed my issue easily.

Generally quite happy with my experiences. When it comes to heated pools, don't waste your money, as they always seem to find a way out of covering certain pool equipment. When my heater went, the company they sent out said it was chemical damage. Duh, it was a salt water pool and you have chemicals in it to maintain cleanliness!

However, the have occasions where the company assigned to me is Not the best choice possible and I find out while the service is being provided. I guess I could complain and get another service provider but sometimes because of the urgency of the situation I don't do it.

Had issues trying to get dishwasher replaced, when requesting service the site does not show the package I have and replaced a built in microwave because basic package said miss you issue wasn't covered when it actually was. Now I have to go through getting a claim after the fact.

The HVAC repairs was very well done . The plumbing call to repair a toilet that shakes was ignored. The contractor says that the toilet would only be covered if it breaks. I am waiting for my service fee to be refunded.

It’s worth it for the peace of mind. The iPhone app is easy for service requests. However, It can be extremely challenging at times to get approvals for certain services even though they are listed as covered items in the contract details. Moreover, frequently when the technician goes to the house for a service call repair and submits the repair work order to OneGuard there is always some additional charge or a part that’s not approved that requires significant additional out of pocket expenses in addition to the $69 service call and a $600+ annual contract fee and this is very frustrating. The bottom line is even with those challenges I like OneGuard enough to keep renewing my 2 properties going on my 5th annual renewal.

Once I reached someone in customer service, Paul, everything was very good from start to finish. But, as I explained to Paul, I called last night, and was transferred to 2 or 3 departments, where I was told that they were taking calls in order of how they came in. I was on the wait list for over 2 hours. I finally called again on our home phone, and talked to another person about the wait. He was very nice, as he had to explain the the department I was waiting for had gone home over an hour ago. I'm sorry I had to sent my frustration to him, but as I said, he was nice. I called again this morning, and basically went through the same thing, only this time I only waited an hour, before I hung up. So I called again and Paul answered within a few minutes. I think the most frustration part of this was that you have a whole bunch of numbers to get you to what you are trying to do, but not a single one that tells you what number to press if you are trying to get your service transferred. I think that would help a lot of people. Anyway, other than that frustration, I still believe that OneGuard is a very good company to do business with, and once you get to where you are going, the customer service folks are very nice and get done as quickly as possible to help you with your call.

I have had a really good experience with OneGuard aside from one issue, which is why I can't give them 5 stars. The one issue I had was that they sent an A/C company to my house that I did not want to do business with. Their quote for out of pocket included items that I flat out didn't need (like a concrete pad for a condenser, when I have a 4x8 poured concrete slab that holds my two A/C units). I called OneGuard and asked for a second opinion. They said they would not agree to that because the out of pocket costs where "within range". They didn't seem to care that the company was trying to charge me for something I didn't need. OneGuard did offer to do a cash out payment in the amount of $600 (for a brand new condenser), so I was forced to use this shady company. End result - shady company forced me to pay the entire out of pocket cost up front and then took 3 weeks to complete the work. Temps in Austin during that time were 90+ degrees. This made me consider dropping OneGuard altogether (I have two properties), but this was the first hiccup in 4 years so I'll give them another shot

Easy to work with and they sent someone over quickly. Unfortunately we thought the job was done correctly but it wasn't so we may have to put in another work order.

This review would have probably been a 1 star before I was finally transferred to Niquan W. Niquan was an absolute godsend! A positive is that the contractors that OneGuard works with have generally been responsive and able to successfully resolve the issue. Some of the contractors have been pleasant to deal with. An area that could use reconsideration is coverage that would include repairing an item, such as a leak/corrosion where the garbage disposal connects to the main line, before a massive water leak occurs. It seems like it would make more sense to fix a known problem that is developing, before it becomes an even greater/more expensive problem to fix.

Overall, one guard is great. When you need something serviced, they are great with answering and getting the actual service in place. But after you pay the fee and you try to contact them, they seem to take much longer in replying. I still decided to renew because you never know what can happen to your home and when I spoke to Alexander J, he answered all my questions and eased my mind with a previous problem that I thought would effect my coverage. He assured that it will all be okay and was very nice and professional about everything.

OneGuard was under contract with us for 2 different homes and for the period November 2011 to July 2018 when we moved to a new home. Just FYI, OneGuard took over our previous home warranty company, ServiceOne, whom we had been with since November 2007. With one substantial exception, we were very satisfied with OneGuard's service for the full period. About every 2-3 years I researched again to see which was the best company. This company was always the best in Arizona for rates and service. During this period we had the following repairs: -Garbage disposal replaced -Sprinkler timer replaced twice -Refrigerator repaired -Refrigerator cashed out (paid residual value, which was fair) -AC unit repaired -AC unit replaced -Evap cooler repaired twice -Dryer repaired twice -Washer repaired -Semi-annual AC unit checkups for a reasonable cost. Our one complaint occurred in Jan of 2018 when I our premium evap cooler needed repair. The technician from a company whom I had never dealt with before, missed the appointment. Instead of rescheduling like he said he would, he called the following Monday and said he would be there in 10 minutes. I was finishing up substantial routine maintenance at the time and the sides, top and cooler pads were off. After spending almost 30 minutes diagnosing the issue, he informed me that he was not allowed to repair the unit because it was disassembled and I would be responsible for the repairs. Long story-short, I quoted the contract to them and threatened consumer and legal action if they failed to repair it. When the manager reviewed the case, they immediately sent out another technician to assess it, and then immediately repaired it. I cannot be certain of course, but I believe that the technician just did not want to take the time to repair it. Since his girlfriend (I later found out) was the dispatch on that day, he attempted misquote the contract in a manner that let him deny service. . I believe this was a bad technician anomaly because we had no complaints at all for the years prior, nor the 6 months after before we moved. Since we have a new home, we will not of course have a home warranty until at least after 5 years. Should be 10 years, but the workmanship of new houses in Arizona is sooooo shoddy. Anyway, when things start breaking down, I will again do my due-diligence and research all companies and we will certainly consider OneGuard equally along with the others and we recommend you do the same as well. Had this one issue not occurred, I would have rated them 5 stars. Anomaly or not, it is their fault for hiring a dishonest tech.
