Very disappointed. I was misled by the company from the get go—I was told the diagnosis visits would be $65 (because I prepaid for 6 years) and then was charged $85 for each of my two claims. The representative, Marc, who sold me the warranty sent me the email with the details only after I had paid on the phone. This wouldn’t be a huge deal except that when I placed a claim for my AC, it was denied with no specific reason given. Prior to the denial, two different techs from different companies actually assessed the AC unit because of further miscommunication from CHOICE. I called customer service to inquire about the denial. Walter, the agent, had no answers for me and stated he wasn’t exactly sure why my claim had been denied. He stated a case manager would be assigned to my claim to investigate further. I have yet to be able to get in contact with with this case manager. I paid for 6 years in advanced, but yet CHOICE don’t want to fix my AC unit (which is still under warranty because my house is just a little over 1 year old). I would not recommend this company. I regret not staying with my previous company from my previous home.

The company responds quickly and the monthly cost is low. When something needs to be replaced, the amount that is given is not enough to replace a new piece of equipment for another new piece of equipment while what is covers at least half of what is needed.

The customer service was great getting me to sign up. I went with this company before and had a problem with my tub. The service technician came out, cut a hole in my basement ceiling, told me my warranty doesn’t cover the issue and told me it’s not his job to repair the hole. I called another time because my dishwasher wasn’t working. They came out twice and it was never repaired. I cancelled and decided to try them again 4 years later. Hoping it will be different. I emailed them twice about my garbage disposal working since they aren’t taking claims calls and days later.... no one has contacted me back. I’m going to search for another company. As a homeowner I want to keep my home in good shape. Paying for a service and not getting the service doesn’t add up.

Well, we have been doing some research on a HOME warranty after spending 6 hrs over 2 days to replace a kitchen faucet. And the WIFE indeed up doing it. ! The gentleman was VERY nice, informative and patient as my husband and I asked questions . SO ask us again in a year ! But SO far SO GOOD for the price and product.

Up until now CHW has been very reliable and willing to cover my claims. This last time they called upon an " Act of God" clause in the contract to deny the repair of my heating system as it was due to a burnt out circuit board probably caused by a power surge resulting from extreme weather conditions we have had and loss of electricity for 5 days during the coldest temperatures we have ever had in Texas . I am truly disappointed for the first time in 5 years of my relationship with CHW.

8 days ago our refridgerator went out and I submitted a claim. It took 4 days to get a technician to our house. The technician was from Sears and was super great and informative. After troubleshooting, it was determined that the fridge was not fixable and we were going to given a reimbursement option. As I went online to accept that offer, the offer was only $599. That particular fridge used sells for more than that, so to get a new one it was over $1000. On top of that, the check has to be mailed and that could take up to 30 days. Luckily, we had the money, but I am sure most people do not have the extra money to spend on a new appliance. For being a Choice customer for 5 years, I would have expected a better outcome. It is disappointing when we think of all of the money we have spent over the years and this was our first claim with them.

I called in last Friday on a water heater repair for our property in San Antonio and it was determined to be replaceable. Within 4 days our rental had a new water heater and the tenant is very happy. The two times I placed service calls, no one showed up on the scheduled day, and I was not called or alerted. Both times I had to call and reschedule. I ended up cancelling the first job all-together, but the worker who completed my second job was professional, extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable. He gave me tips on how to prevent issues with my appliances, which I appreciated.

Sales person won't give me back my same price as my membership got dropped 2 months ago, there was no communication receive by me which they said (the person who I was talking too ) claims that they tried calling me and email ing me but I sure did not have any messages in my phone nor any communication from my email. I had this home warranty for years and did not even use it, sad part also is I can not even make a claim for 30 days, not that I need too yet.

This has been a very bad experience for us. There are 4 adults living here. I place my first call for this problem on March 27, 2020. Finally after 2 visits from Titus, then he finally put a new circuit board in yesterday. This is a comeback call and I do not think I should be paying another repair charge just to have him enter my home. I’m very disappointed with this experience. The washer stopped working the day after the first repair people came. They sent another company and he left with a working washer. Then same problem has happened again. Now they are sending the first one again but now I have no idea when or what time.

It felt that within 2 hours of calling in, I was already scheduled for a next day visit by a local company. The one thing I would ask, is next time, ask what would be a good time, they were scheduled the next day to arrive from 7-10. I personally don't want people coming to my home before 9AM. Overall I was satisfied.

So far choice warranty is great. The only issue I have is how long it takes to get a tech out. Usually 2 days because it’s warranty job. However choice home warranty did make it happen the same day when my ac went out. I had just had surgery and they were so helpful. I do recommend them, but do read what they cover and don’t.

I recently had my air conditioner go out in the Florida heat and your company chose to not repair the unit and offered us $200. Now my washer has gone out and you responded by saying you have great news for me that you are offering me $299.99 to purchase a washer. Honestly, you know that does not cover the cost of the bottom of the line washers. The Technicians you send have been great but your customer service stinks! My previous experiences were wonderful prior to last year. We paid for Warranty Coverage on 2 residences and I don't feel that when I need you that you are being fair to your consumer.

I not satisfied with Choice Home Warranty because of the lack of coverage approval you give. There were three things wrong with my furnace that made it stop working. CHW only approved one of them. I don’t think that is right. If all three of the items played a part in the malfunction of the furnace then all three items should have been approved. That’s what I’m paying a monthly premium for.

The price is very reasonable, however when I recently called for service on my dishwasher, it was NOT a good experience. I got incorrect emails about my service dates and times, wasted my mornings three times awaiting a technician. When I called the first one, I was told that the appointment had been canceled by CHW. The second tech said they had told you that they they couldn’t work for you, the third told me that they weren’t going to do my job because you hadn’t yet paid them for the last several jobs you had done for them.

I was disappointed when I found out that my tank is not covered by their warranty but they agreed to supply me with a new tank if I agreed to pay the plumber the installation cost. I have been waiting for 3 days for someone to contact me about my septic tank back-up issue. All I get from "customer service" is that they are working on it. We cannot use our toilets, shower, wash dishes, wash clothes, nothing that involves drainage. I have been a customer of CHW for almost 3 years and this is the first time I have had very poor service. CHW can do better!

So far it has been good. We are new to it. There was some delay in getting a part replaced in our furnace waiting for them to replace it. Plus they don’t pay for weekend calls. Our furnace went out over the weekend and it was cold out. So I feel the wait was unnecessary especially for something we need.

I was not pleased with the sign up process. The salesman was very pushy and tried 4 times to upsale me. When I told him I wanted him to stop, he hit angry with me and said he was “just doing his job.” I am a brand new customer so I don’t know what it will be like doing business with this company in the future. I am considering canceling my policy and going back to my previous warranty company.

My microwave "died". The rep stated: "CHW will probably pay for new one" since the repair was MORE than a new one. He did not tell me what the price was. I was notified that $169 was all that I was allowed. I contacted CHW and a rep upped it to $210. That part was fine. But, it included everything, unit and installation. There is no place I could get a replacement and have it installed for less that $289, but CHW did not allow that much. I am disappointed in that offer.

So i have done good with choice home for the past yr or so but recently my toilet was leaking. I called on a friday and placed a claim, within a few hours i had an appointment. But the appointment was for the following Friday and my toilet was leaking right then. I attempted to contact the people they assigned to come fix my toilet and they said they could get out sooner but it would be monday. So at this point i am scrambling for a solution and realize i can just call around to see if someone can come sooner and just be reimbursed my money through choice. Well fast forward to the work being completed and I'm short $218 but my toilet is no longer leaking onto my floor and causing more trouble for me later. I speak to a choice home rep who tells me to have the plumbers call them and give them the invoice and based on the work done they will give me back my money. Today i received an email stating i will get a check in the mail for $45. Disappointed and frustrated is an understatement.

The repair man said that if a claim is over $300 that the repair person would have to get authorization to do the repair and that Choice has limited hours to be able to get authorization. Fortunately this repair worked out about $170.

Well I have had choice for three and a half years and it is now time to renew and I have a technician out 5 times for my refrigerator. They have replaced the same parts numerous times and again they have sent a technician who said the fridge is a lemon and they still want to replace parts. Not to replace the fridge. I think I have to consider whether to keep choice or not because they have almost put as much as they would have paid to replace it in parts. The technician even said he didn’t know why they weren’t replacing after having 5 claims on the same item. They approved replacing the same items that have been replaced before. Might want to consider whether to purchase from them or not. Kathi Jones

The only thing I like about this company is the fact that I can pay less for a service call fee, but you don't cover the repairs that are necessary once the issue is diagnosed. Not really happy with the amount of money I pay for my warranty when I have to pay out of my pocket for the repairs. You won't fix my refrigerator leak because it is not a mechanical failure and you most recently denied repair on my leak in my laundry room where all I needed done was to replace the hot and cold turn off valves, because one of the check valves went bad and was leaking behind the wall. Even the technician said he doesn't understand why something like this would not be covered. I have been a customer for two years and the only thing I have ever needed done was A/C work and a few clogs fixed. Very disappointed.🙁
