DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! My Wife and I purchased a 10 year old home so we thought we could get some piece of mind by buying an extra home warrantee to cover some miscellaneous things if they failed. I have filed three separate claims with them over the past 3 years and they have not covered one yet! I have had to pay out of pocket all three times. Understand they have limitations to what they can do but my biggest fear was my central AC unit might have issues....it did and it required a full replacement. Choice denied the claim because they called it secondary damage due to a component of the system leaking, causing water corrosion. My hot water heater failed and they said they only cove the "parts of the heater" not the "Vessel" that hold the water. Finally my refrigerator started making a loud noise, they sent someone out who said he could not find the problem so they would not cover it. ZERO for three!!!!!!!!!! I will not renew this contract and I wasted an entire year paying for it. ****GARBAGE !!!!!!! STAY AWAY****

I chose CHW after speaking with a great salesman. I had Service America who always did a good job but they raised their copay to $60. I went thru in detail on all coverages. On Jan 31st I called in a claim for an electrical outlet located near the porch door. I never heard back, today i called and they said it was DENIED because it is not located inside of the house. I said well why do they cover my Washer & Dryer which is in the shed on my carport. THEY SAID THE W/D WOULD NOT BE COVERED EITHER! I paid $1,200.00 upfront.. I said since they will not cover my $2,600 Washer & Dryer I want to cancel. They said fine, my refund would be $500.. which included a large cancellation fee, administrative fees and $250 in needed to reimburse them for my only other call to fix a circuit breaker issue, at which time I also paid a copay.. I WILL BE CANCELLING AND FILING A BBB COMPLAINT FOR MISREPRESENTATION. NEVER PAY MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS IN ADVANCE SO YOU DON'T GET SCREWED LIKE I DID. L. Rogers Boynton Beach, Fl

I purchased a WARRANTY from CHW , I initially chose them because I saw they stated they had a 5 star rating and seemed to have a low deductible. Even referred to a friend that also purchased a WARRANTY. My A.C unit went out and they denied the claim because they said I didnt have the plan long enough. Then several months later my stove went out they sent a tech out I paid the $ 60.00 was told parts were not available to fix it. And they weren't going to replace it but would pay $ 250.00 And said they would not send it until after 30 days. It's been almost 3 months. I still haven't recieved payment yet. I keep calling and they give me a different excuse each time and tell me the check will be sent that day , Then Everytime I call I get the run around. This company is a scam . DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Currently seeking legal consel, Companies like this need to be investigated and reported to Consumer Trade commission and BBB and Insurance commission . This can not continue. I feel that the way they are doing bussiness is unethical and fraudulent. I would not recommend them to anyone.. Buyer Beware....

As a Home Inspector, we have had 2 clients in the past 6 months that have filed claims with CHW and had them denied. In both cases, these homeowners had a comprehensive Home Inspection, where these items were found to have no significant defects and operated properly. Last month, a family that closed on their house 4 months ago called to say their heat system started making a funny noise. They had called CHW, who sent an HVAC tech out and told them the 18 year old gas pack was shot and would need total replacement ($6k). CHW denied their claim. We sent a licensed HVAC contractor out who confirmed there was a hole in the heat exchanger, which could be replaced for $1100. At our recommendation, our clients let CHW know this new information. They said the claim is still denied and the decision is non-negotiable. To me, this is criminal. This company took $$ from these families to cover defects that occur with covered systems. The unit was inspected, and operated properly for 4 months. When it went out -- CLAIM DENIED. I recommend you find a warranty company that does what they are paid to do. SHAME ON YOU CHOICE!! PS. I see CHW has a 3 star review, but if you look at the 5 star reviews, they are almost all people who comment on how easy it was to sign up. :-( smh

I rated this company at 1 because there is no zero. In 2 years I have had 3 dealings with them. 1st involved AC unit, and before it was over I ended up 500 plus out of pocket and they denied everything. Funny, they were more than happy to sell me their product, assuring me that I could rest easy. Today was my last go with them. I have a washer that quit working. It went to a repair compnay in the area that they have sent before and choice (poor choice) got into a disagreement with them over the trip fee. By the time they decide to send someone else 3 weeks has gone by. Then the deem the machine not repairable. So, for an 800 dollar machine, they offer up 375 for a replacement. A basic machine is 150 over that. When I spoke with manager PRECIOUS, she bumped it up to 400, and refused to budge, and tells me there is no other recourse. Sales, who schmoozes people to buy their product fails to get involved to resolve the issue. On top of that, they then let me know it will be 30 days to get the check to partially replace the washer. If you are considering doing business with these crooks, consider yourself warned. They are masters at bait and switch tactics, and all they are looking for is a way to weasel cash out of your wallet.

Quick to schedule. Service techs were outstanding, very knowledgable, and very efficient. Everything worked as expected when done. What more could I have asked for?

At the beginning, I chose Choice Home Warranty for a peace of mind, also because their rate is the cheapest. Now I know there is a reason that their rate is “cheapest”, and I have made a big mistake. Two months after I ordered the plan, one day I found my refrigerator stopped cooling, and I called CHW for an inspection. Technician came and detected condenser fan blade and control board problem, charged service fee and said would come back to repair after one week. One week later, nobody called us, no any follow-up, we had to call the company to check status, after over one hour waiting and transferring, finally one manager answered the phone “oh, we were just trying to contact you, and your claim was denied”. When I asked the reason, he said “your refrigerator problem takes many days to develop, so we can’t pay anything for your claim”. So which appliance problem doesn’t take days to develop? This is the most unbelievable excuse I heard from a home warranty company. It seems to me that CHW only wants my money, but refuse to pay any claims. Now I understand why it’s cheaper than others, obviously they don’t pay anything. After my denial, I checked CHW reputation online. It’s a pity that I only started checking Choice Home Warranty review after they refused to pay any claim. On BBB, Choice Home Warranty has over 86% negative reviews! I should see that before ordering CHW plan. Also interestingly, the review rate went downward sharply in year 2018, I saw a lot of unhappy customers like me, a lot of 1-star ratings. I even saw comments that CHW refuses to pay any claim higher than $300, which was true according to my experience with CHW. I am writing this just to advice future new home owners, if you choose CHW, better pray yourself won’t have any repair beyond $300.

I was told Choice Home Warranty covered things no matter the age if it broke down while under contract. I carefully read all materials in the packet and the when my A/C unit went out within the month you said it was not covered because there were too many things wrong with it, how will a person that just purchased a home know? I also asked this question of the salesman and he said its covered. Even sold me the Veterans Special for 1875.00 up from for 5 years and i paid it only to be denied when needed, Then I canceled and they did absolutely NOTHING for me but still kept more than $200.00 . that 's how you treat a VET!!!!!!!

I give CHW the lowest rating possible. CHW had a technician repair my oven last February which broke again in November. They've sent multiple technicians out to assess the oven and after numerous emails and calls with extremely long hold periods they are denying the claim b/c the technician has reported multiple issues needing repair which CHW deems outside of the "normal wear and tear" policy (even though one of the issues is with the same part CHW replaced in February). CHW most definitely finds loop holes in the contract to enable them to deny claims and put the expense back on the owner. I would NOT recommend this company!

Worst customer service. Prepaid for policy through 2020 and then moved a year after we bought policy only to be told that we cannot transfer the policy to our new home, only to the new owner of the old property. Also told that ice makers were covered, even though the website says they are not. When ours quit, we had to pay additional fees for the coverage just to get it fixed. Also had oven panel light go out and was told they couldn't fix it so they gave us a check for $300 for a new oven, when it was going to cost over $1000 for a new one. Didn't fix AC unit problems and left us without AC in the summer in Texas with a brand new baby. Came out multiple times for same problem and had to pay service fee every time. Constantly lied to when calling in to customer service. Was told a part was ordered when we called back 3 days later we were told they credited the technician for him to just go buy it. The technician said he was never credited! DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

I have been waiting for repair on my washer and dishwasher since October 2017. After countless calls and being left on hold for excruciating lengths of time, I am now told they will buy my washer. Last time I had a problem with my dishwasher they offered the same deal, except my dishwasher was seldom used and they offered $125.00 for a $700.00 dishwasher. I demanded they fix it and they replaced the panel. I am not accepting the money for the washer. I want it fixed. Ive talked to supervisors, took down their extensions, but now I’m told I can’t be connected. The technicians are relatively good, but the customer service is the worst ever. I had American Home Shield before. They charged more deductible, but got the job done. Choice Warranty was the wrong choice!

I HAD STARTED MY CONTRACT IN OCT. 2017 AND WAS MAKING MY AUTO PAYMENTS ON TIME. ON JAN. 2018 MY A/C STOP WORKING AND CALL CHOICE HOME WARRANTY FOR SERVICE. THE COMPANY THAT CALL CAME AND INSPECT. DID NOT LEAVE ANY REPORT OR COPY OF THERE FINDINGS. COLLECTED THE $60 SERVICE FEE AND TOLD US THAT CHOICE WILL BE CONTACTING ME. WHEN I RECEIVE A CALL A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER. THEY SAID THE MY A/C HAD OVERHEATED AND THAT MADE MY COMPRESSOR TO SHORT TO GROUND AND I WILL NEED A NEW A/C UNIT. SO I ASKED WHEN WILL THEY BE BACK TO REPLACE THE A/C AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WARE THE WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT. I ASKED WERE IN MY CONTRACT IT SAID THAT BECAUSE OF A SHORT TO MY A/C IS NOT COVERED. THERE RESPONSE WAS TO LOOK AT LINE #2 THAT SAYS THE WARRANTY COVERS ONLY NORMAL WARE AND TEAR. I ASKED HOW DETERMINES WHAT IS NORMAL WARE AND TEAR? THEY SAID THAT THEY DO. BASED ON THE TECH. REPORT. BUT BECAUSE THE REPAIRS ARE NOW $6500 THEY DETERMINE THAT ITS NOT NORMAL THAT THE UNIT COULD HAVE OVERHEATED DUE TO NORMAL WARE AND TEAR THEY ARE NOT COVERING IT. NOW I HAVE TO COME UP WITH $6500 AND GET A NEW UNIT HAVING HOME WARRANTY. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO PAY YOUR REPAIRS THE ONLY THING THAT THEY HAVE TO SAY IS THAT WHAT HAPPEN IS NOT A NORMAL WARE AND TEAR OR THAT YOU DID NOT DO THE PROPER MAINTENANCE ON YOUR EQUIPMENT. THIS IS THE WAY THAT THESE COMPANIES STEAL YOUR MONEY AND GET AWAY WITH IT. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS THE WORST TYPE OF THIEVES.

This company is a total ripoff. We just put out 5800.00 on a new HVAC and they wanted to give us 200.00 as they said they do not pay for rust and corrosion or leaks. I asked what older system doesn’t get rust. The HVAC technician that installed our new HVAC stated that our old system was well maintained, but Choice tried to say our system was not maintained and that is why it was leaking. Do not learn the hard way like we did. DO NOT take out a Home Warranty from this company. They will just take your money. There is also a Facebook page titled, Choice Home Warranty Ripoff, making people aware of what a ripoff they are. Awful comments - I wish we would have seen this page before we threw our money away. Beware of these thieves.

My sales person ran my credit card before we agreed that I was accepting this program. He, Ralph, pressured me for card # and said my payment could be on any day I wished so I said the second of the month would be fine however my card was run as soon as I gave my number and I disagreed because that’s not what we agreed. So then I got the indifferent Ralph as to how to resolve this issue. I will not be your customer now Because of the high pressure and indifference after the disagreement. He just kept saying how good a deal it was and I kept saying not til next month. He said, “you have the money what’s the big deal “, are you kidding me?????? Said a refund will come in the next 24 hrs we’ll see..... if not I will dispute the charge and do it myself. I will check yes as a member because I do have an account number ....

Choice was a bad choice for me so far. The call center sounds like it is in someone's home and takes an excessively long time to get a response. The first claim I had was for a plumbing issue. The man who came told me he was not a plumber and had to call one to get directions on repairing the claim. In the process he chipped the inside of one toilet and made pulled so hard with antique equipment that he loosened the toilet. I called when my heater not functioning properly. The technician told me what the problem was and showed me how it was happening. When he came back and took apart the back of my heater and took photos as he was instructed by Choice. The next time I hear anything it is that the claim is denied due to corrosion. The photos taken were very vague and were not of the part that I was told was not working properly. Unless you have a new home with new appliances Choice is a waste of $. I would bet that most dishwashers, laundry equipment, heaters, etc would show some signs of use and wear. I feel like there is no point in calling them for repairs and that the $45.00 deductible is better spent on actually getting something done. My advice is to look elsewhere. I would give them no stars if that were an option.

I have mixed emotions re signing up for a special plan for the elderly. I was shocked when I got a call from Sams Club Card provider who refused $1875 charge on my card. It was not clear during my call that I would pay for 6 years coverage NOW. I will call to change my policy.

As a paying customer it is annoying to constantly hear complaints from the repair men dispatched to do work in your home. Choice is constantly bartering with the repair men over the phone while they are in your home. The repairmen then get off the phone annoyed with you that Choice won't pay them for this or that. As the customer I don't want to be involved in those issues. I just want my heat/air fixed. Ultimately, Choice needs to get their act together! Repair people dispatched are knowledgeable and able to handle all the repairs I've had .

I absolutely was unsatisfied with the customer service ! His name is David and he hung up on me !!!! Seriously I was trying to ask questions and he would not answer my questions. Finally hung up . Unreal ! I wish I would have looked better into this home warranty Decision! Although Choice agreed to pay only 250 dollars of the issue I am having it actually helps a bit but it’s a far cry from the 800 it will be to fix the issue with my pool. Last year the customer service was fantastic at the end of the ordeal even tho choice yet again didn’t pay the whole amount last time either they did help me ! Which I am very grateful. But the customer service this time WAS AWEFUL AND HUNG UP ON ? Are you SERIOUS ? No.

CHW is an absolute scam. They literally do anything they can to get out of paying for the service they sold you. Had my heat go out in the middle of winter and called them to get their tech out who came next day (so far so good). Their knowledgeable tech identified the issue as a cracked heat exchanger that set off the safety limit switch so for the safety of my family he recommended shutting the unit down. I then stood their with the tech who called CHW and explained the situation. They then called me and asked for my home inspection report (I had moved in the house 6 months earlier). After I sent it to them it took them a full day to get back to me only to deny the claim saying that my home inspection report noted a section of flex duct was disconnected on my AC System and that I needed to provide a proof of repair. After explaining to them that a flex duct 50ft downstream of the system has nothing to do with a cracked heat exchanger I obliged their proof of repair request and sent them pictures and dated correspondence showing this was repaired prior to me buying my home. They did not accept this proof and denied the claim saying I couldn’t prove I didn’t follow my inspectors repairs. Never did anyone explain to me how a flex duct in my crawl space serving my restroom could cause the heat exchanger, an internal part of the exterior ground mounted AC unit, to crack. It’s been 5 days now and absolutely no help from CHW. During this process their claim representatives, claim managers, and Resolution managers have been unknowledgable of the situation, have disregarded their own service techs input, and have been working towards trying to do everything possible to deny their claim. Additionally they won’t put anything in writing. Currently I’m in the process of paying for my own repair and am going to take CHW to small claims to get the money they owe me for buying their warranty service. TLDR: CHW provides a false sense of security, has unknowledgable/unreasonable customer care, and won’t pay for the service they sell to you.

I've been a customer with CHW for 3 months now following a co-worker referral. I've called them twice for 2 different claims and both were denied. It took 1 whole week just to get a service technician to come out to my residence only for them to deny my claim. I had to call them 4 times within a week to keep reporting the same claim. I feel let down by CHW and I definitely will not be referring anyone to this company. I should've stayed with AHS but a co-worker referred me to this CHW and due to them having a cheaper service fee I switched to them but cheaper isn't always better. I'd rather pay a higher service fee with AHS and get my appliances fixed than to pay a cheaper service fee with CHW and have all my claims denied. Needless to say I cancelled CHW today 1/11/18. And for as my co-worker is concerned she referred me only to get a free month of service "shame on her". I can only tell of my bad experience with CHW so I say "stay away from CHW or try at your own risk" **You've Been Warned**

Scheduling service takes extremely long while they find the cheapest providers. One service provider threatened me and I had to call the police after a bad service experience. Had a broken water pipe and customer "no" service didn't seem to understand or care about the urgency of my matter. They also go to great lengths to deny claims. I will I hadn't purchased a 3 year policy. Sales person said that they would take great care of my home and that they are great about paying claims. I call BS. Save your money in a savings account and pay repair techs yourself.

CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS A "SCAM" MY HEATING UNIT WENT OUT DURING THE COLD THIS YEAR WITH TEMPERATURE IN THE TEENS AND CHOICE TOLD ME THAT MY HEATING ELEMENTS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THIS THE PLAN. I WILL ADVISE ANYONE THAT'S LOOKING FOR A HOME WARRANTY TO NOT CONSIDER THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY ARE SCAMMERS. THEY SAID THEY COULD GIVE ME $150.00 TOWARD MY CLAIM. OH BY THE WAY THIS WAS MY VERY 1ST CLAIM WITH THEM. I HAD AMERICAN HOME SHIELD BEFORE GOING WITH CHOICE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM COMING OUT AND DOING WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. THEY CAME OUT AND SERVICE MY UNIT IN THE SUMMER OF 2016 AND NEVER TOLD ME THAT MY UNIT WAS WAS CLOGGED UP. THEY DID WHAT THEY NEEDED TO WITH NO QUESTIONS. SO PLEASE CHECK THIS COMPANY OUT BEFORE GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY. THE TECH THAT CAME OUT TOLD ME WHEN THEY CAME THAT CHOICE WAS GOING TO DENY MY CLAIM BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE TO REPLACE YOUR APPLIANCES WHEN NEEDED IF THEY CAIN'T REPAIR THEM. PLEASE BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A CEILING FAN WITH A LIGHT THEY WILL REPLACE THE FAN BUT NOT THE LIGHT. I HAVE HAD FRIENDS TELLING ME THE SAME THING ABOUT CHOICE . ( SO PLEASE BE WARE)!!!!!!!

So far my experience is extremely negative. I called to cancel a policy that I just got yesterday because my homeowner's policy that I just started today had better coverage availability for only $18 a year. My call resulted in a 30 minute waste of time on hold. About 15 minutes in a woman transferred me to another department. A message came on and said I had another 7 minute 10 second wait period. After another ear damaging wait a voice started saying to press 1 for a callback. I did but no voice or prompt came back on to say they would call back. I waited another 7 or 8 minutes and listened to lots more messages for a callback and they didn't work either. Then the background just stopped as it sounded like someone answered the hung up. Tomorrow morning I will cancel payment on my Visa card. This is obviously a scam or a criminal activity.

I called for service and was placed into the queue and had a reply that I thought was very fast. The said someone would be at my home between 12:45 and 3pm the same day - they called to confirm and then said "sorry he's already left the area" and can be there Friday. I said that was too long since there is water leaking. They said they would put me back into the queue and someone would pick it up. I called Choice to confirm I'm in the "queue" and I'm still waiting...not good.

Listen this company lies in their TV commercials, they don't replace nothing. They sent nearly 10 different technicians to my home for a problem with my washing machine, the last technician that so-called repaired the problem, told me the company ignored his findings. The problem still exists, I called them over a week age and demanded to have my concern escalated, I spoke with a representative (in escalations) on 07/26/2019 at 10:30am and she assured me that I would get results this time. This is the perfect example of them lying because they haven't corrected my problem and I haven't received a replacement and this has been going on since June 26, 2019.

I would suggest that anyone considering purchasing a home warranty go almost anywhere but to Choice Home Warranty to do so. I have had three claims with Choice and they have gone as follows; a timer on a Maytag washing machine went out and Choice told the repair man the part was obsolete and the machine could not be repaired, the second was one of my two A/C units went out and again I was told they would not repair or replace it because it wasn't maintained properly, and the third was my hot water heater wouldn't heat the water. Choice offered me $165 buyout for the washing machine. My question was why wasn't it being replaced since it could not be repaired and I was told when a appliance can't be repaired, a determination is made as to the remaining value and that is all they will pay. I found the "obsolete" replacement part on the internet in less that three minutes and purchased it for $150. The "bad" A/C unit had been maintained because I have had it serviced twice each year with a local provider. Choice would not used the local provider for the repair. After several days and many calls to Choice, they settled on a very small portion of the cost of the replacement unit. All of this took place during a Texas summer so we were without this A/C during that time and it was 10 days before the new unit was in place. The hot water heater had been repaired by Choice before and the same problem occurred again. I was again told the replacement part was not available for shipment for three to five working days, which would put this part in the hands of the repair people one week after the initial warranty call. Choice then decided to not order the part for five more days but promised "overnight delivery" to the repair people. "Overnight delivery" took five more days. The total time without hot water was 11 days (in the month of December). If there had been any possible way to get a refund of my Choice Home Warranty purchase, I would have do so any one of these three times. You can be sure I will not make the mistake of every purchasing another from Choice and I would suggest to anyone reading this review to carefully consider never doing so either.

I've had choice for four months in a brand new home. Had trouble with my water heater in the fourth month. So I called them and the claim was denied. The technician was just as dumbfounded as me. There was no repairing it. I was told when we brought this warranty "if we can't fix it, we replace it". I've had two other warranty companies before. I thought they would be different. Save your money, and fix it yourself. What a racket, you have the illusion of security but there is none. And I had to pay the $65 service fee. Thanks for NOTHING!!! If I could rate them a zero, I would!!!!!!

This company is horrible. I bought the warranty because their reviews were insanely high for a warranty company so I switched from Home Warranty of America. I never should have made the change. Since I purchased the warranty, Choice was caught by the BBB rebating customers for good reviews to drive up their ratings. After engaging in this practice their BBB rating is now a C. I purchased a 6 year warranty (for almost $2k and felt like I was buying great coverage for a great value). It wasn't until several months into the warranty when I went to exercise my first claim to have it fully denied because the 15 year old AC unit has corrosion. It wasn't until they denied the claim that they sent me the full contract (they only send you an abbreviated version when you sign up). This new version (far more comprehensive) actually has an exclusion for rusted or corroded parts (literally on all appliances See Section F, #1). Essentially, this clause allows them to deny all older AC claims because the exterior and interior portions both accumulate varying degrees of corrosion over the years. Corrosion is not even the factor for the A coil failure, but they are citing this section as the reason to fully deny my claim. I am filing my own complaint with the BBB and Office of Consumer Affairs to try to get all of my money back due to their misleading business practices. Additionally, both of the HVAC vendors they sent out to service the unit were unprofessional and seemed like they were guessing what was wrong with the unit versus knowledgeable. The second vendor determined the evaporator coil had failed but he cannot even schedule the repair for over a week because they only work 8-5 with the warranty company. It is December in Chicagoland, so I can't exactly go without heat that long and will have to now have to pay another hvac company offering same day service to do the repair on top of all of the money I just spent to purchase the warranty.

I've had Choice Home Warranty for about 6 months, and i can tell you one thing--SCAMMMMMM. They're a bunch of crooks. Of the 3 claims i've put through, none have been validated. I've talked to technicians who can't understand why they won't cover and every time I call it's one loop hole after another. And the rings they make you jump through to see a technician! If your heat breaks and you want it resolved in the dead of winter in a timely fashion, don't turn to these guys. They've taken 3 weeks and still haven't fixed my heat because the tech can't get approval for different things. I'm telling you, SCAM! Better off flushing your money away. I would not recommend, have only had nightmare experiences with them.

I usually don't provide a bad feedback for any products or company. But "Choice Home warranty" forced me to write something about them. Few things you all should know before you decide to pick "Choice Home Warranty". When you file a claim, you will need to understand "Choice Home Warranty" will not fix anything, they will come and let you know the problem only. When you call them they will either say - 1. this occurred due to a lack of maintenance and Choice does cover it. or 2. get a second opinion if you don't like the findings from their authorized technician. Either way, you will need to pay even more than the actual cost to fix the issue. Please don't fall for the reviews, I'm not sure even the reviews online are real or not. Hope this will help someone.

Run the other way... before you sign or put money down read the home warranty contract which I never saw until after I paid and wasted 4 years worth of premiums. If you think they will replace a large appliance like a stove or fridge think again they will only pay up to 500.00. There are so many things in their warranty contract that is disallowed and those things are essential to the parts they will cover that it makes a lot of what they will cover ... void. If you want to cancel buyer beware.... they will prorate the remaining months... charge 10% admin fee and deduct the cost of prior repairs made from what is left so you get none of your money back, not being upfront and honest. I paid extra to cover in-ground pool and all equipment.... it took them 6 weeks to find someone who would work with them... I am in Florida pool repair companies are all over the place... then I find out they don't cover the heat pumps that heats the water to my pool. I had had a regular water heater they would only cover 500.00 to repair that but they would not pay more than the 500.00 so if a new pump is needed OH WELL you just paid the 45.00 service call fee to be told you are s__t out of luck they will not cover the cost to replace it. If I had it to do again knowing what I know now I would have saved my money and run the other way

Two month after plumbing company came for to check the water heater pilot lite I got a service fee even though Mat from authorization dept. waived the fee then went back on his word. I called to speak to Mat and I was told I can not talk to him by Greeg manager at customer solutions dept. I have cancelled my contract for that reason. By the way the pilot lite would often go out in the water heater. That morning I had to turn it on so that I can take a shower. When IGD Pluming came the plumber told me I should not have turned the pilot lite on. I remember receiving an email about the waiver as well as it is known that you pay as the vender leaves and he never asked me to pay sense it was waived. In other instances I had to record conversations because I could no longer trust them.

The strength of this company is that they have a clear list of what is and isn't covered, but the major weakness is that they won't honor that list once you've signed up. My dishwasher had a valve cover seal go bad, which at the time was covered under their list. They first rejected my claim because they confused it with the "door seal gasket", after days of trying to get a justification, they changed their rejection to say that they wouldn't cover my claim because the valve cover seal is connected to the door. They told me that their list says they cover everything except for the door, and what they mean is that they cover everything except for the door and what is connected to the door. They will however cover the electronics that are connected to the door, but not the part I wanted, even though the agreement said their list said they would. When shopping for home warranties, it's important to know up front what is and isn't covered so you know if the price justifies the risk. Choice makes a lot of promises to get you as a customer, and makes a lot of excuses once you've signed the contract.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!! I was completely robbed by this company and paid over 800 for 13 months of service. I paid 1750 for 5 years (around 30 a month) to get a better deal, plus they thru in an extra year which would be 6 in total. Put in a claim for my A/C in mid august. Tech came out and fixed. However it didn't last. Called Choice back and they sent him back and advised to put in new claim. Tech stated that I need a new unit completely because my unit was 20 years old. Choice gives tech a questionnaire to fill out. In that questionnaire it asks if there is any rust on unit. Nowhere is there a choice for no rust, so the tech put little rust in that section. They used that as a reason to deny claim. I fought it, and they asked for pics. This is a 20yr unit so there will at least some rust. They saw it in the picture and "profiled" me and stated that that was the cause even when the tech told me specifically that that wasn't the problem. I continued to fight it along with the tech that came out. They agreed TO HIM that they would replace the evaporator and he was just waiting for the authorization. I then called to see what the hold up was and they told me that it was denied again based, once again, on the pictures. They never sent, nor will they ever, a second opinion just to verify the pics even though the original tech was telling them that rust had nothing to do with it. Even if rust causes problems similar to this, this was not the case for me..... again, I had the tech the sent me on my side and fighting for me on this..... I cancelled my contract with them. They price gouged me and charged me non sale going rate at 44 per month as part of my refund for the remainder of the term,(remember, I bought it at 30) plus a 50 dollar admin fee. On top of that, they took back 200 from my original claim in August (which I was covered for) because they paid it out to the service tech. So, I paid 1750 and got back 950, paying 800 for 13 months of nothing..... They will find any loophole possible to deny your claim.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next stop, BBU, Angies List, Local news and an official complaint with the federal government!!!!!!! These statements are entirely true and protected under the 1st amendment. You're experience may vary but BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

found in a google search, was promptly sent an email and a follow up call regarding my interest. Was then called 7 times on the first day and when advised that I was not ready to sign up, was hung up on by every single rep. After advising that I was not interested to remove from the call list, i was continually called for a week straight multiple times a day from different representatives who again would hang up upon hearing i was not interested. Due to the continued experience, I think its safe to say this is either how you all train your employees or speed is an incentive for them. Either way, if that is how you guys treat someone who is undecided on being a customer, I definitely don't want to experience how you treat someone once they are paying you.

This is the most dishonest company in the business. My friends have a different company but I chose this one to save a few dollars. I have been a customer for a little over two years and attempted to make a couple claims. Each time CHW has contracted sub-par repair services who did not show for several days. Each time I had to pay another service to come fix their mistakes. Truly costing me more to have them. I have concluded that I am better just paying out of pocket instead of paying a CHW service fee and then another to fix their shoddy contractors. Also if the technician finds rust on any part, they have a catch all line in their contract to deny claims. Make sure you read the fine print. Finally, the max they will pay for any one item is $1500 but its not like they ever approve a claim in the first place!

BUYER BEWARE!! GO ONLINE TO SEE PREVIOUS LAWSUITS AND CLAIMS AGAINST THIS COMPANY. Despite having been a customer of this company for several years, they denied my recent claim for an HVAC compressor failure, asserting it wasn't because of "normal wear and tear", despite the fact that the unit in question was about 13 years old. I have had my system serviced twice annually, so it was well maintained. They asserted that the reason for the failure NEVER occurs from normal wear and tear. I have found at least 4 different expert sources that say such failures DO INDEED occur for that reason. They refused to answer when I asked what percentage of HVAC compressor claims they honored historically.

THESE WARRANTIES ARE A SCAM!!! I have multiple properties and have had service with Choice Home Warranty for a couple of years now, and it appears to me that they only cover claims that won't cost them much money. Their warranties are written in such a way that everything is covered but one primary item. For example, today it is the water heater tank. They cover all the components EXCEPT for the tank. When you read the warranty agreement, it is stated in such a way that you believe they are talking about external storage tanks that you may have added to a system, not the tanks within covered systems. They they will try to smooth your feelings by offering you $250 - $300 check. Also, when they say that they will replace a unit, they don't really mean it. They will send you a check to cover the cost of a new unit (i.e. above-range microwave oven), but now you are required to go buy one, pay to have it installed, and pay to dispose of the old unit. We also found out the hard way that unless you get an attorney involved, about 95% of your plumbing is NOT covered. They would not fix a leaky drain on an upstairs tub, because it is obstructed. Reading the agreement, you are thinking that they are talking about furniture obstructing the portion of the wall that they need to get into to fix the issue, but they are actually talking about the wall itself. Then, after we argued the issue to the point of them agreeing to address the issue, they refused to fix the holes they put in the drywall to fix the drain, because of other loopholes in the agreement. What's worse, is that their repair only lasted for about 2 weeks. It was easier and cheaper in the end to pay a local handyman to do the full job. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE and go with a more reputable company!!!

This warranty company is TERRIBLE!! They will fight tooth and nail to deny ANYTHING they possible can. They fought me to cover my water heater because it was "old"... duhh, thats why people buy warranties. They ended up covering it on "good faith efforts" but still claimed they would typically deny that claim. It even mentions in their operator message it doesnt matter how old your mechanicals or appliances are. This was border line fraudulent. I had to send them a copy of my home inspection (even though their policy states clearly you dont need an inspection) and also provided them with 2 other plumbers remarks stating the water heater was no longer working, and leaking, and they STILL fought me tooth and nail. Now I have a heater exhaust fan making a ton of noise. Their denying it because "there is no mechanical failure!!" If I get a car warranty my brakes are making noise, are they going to deny it because "theres no mechanical failure??" No, of course not. I'm trying to sell this home, it will not pass inspection due to the noise the exhaust fan is making. I'm now in the process of battling this one out as well....... to be continued.

I had a purchased this warranty for a piece of mind instead I was under a lot of stress. I initially put in a claim due to my air conditioner not working and they sent someone out here to inspect. the inspector away told me that my home warranty would deny getting a further inspection of why it was faulty, mind you that I paid for a policy for 6 years. speaking to the representative they indicated that someone like me it would be over looks and covered for the $287 to find if there was a leak of freon in my system. after two days a two techs came out and said that there was a leak and that they submitted a claim to choice which in turn my say there is corrosion to deny the claim which they indicated there was none by that is what they would say to deny the claim. I called to cancel my policy in which they offered $400 to go into repairs and told me to get in contact with the repair company. which in turn told me that it would be a $187 repair. I asked well won't it need freon as well if there is a leak? The person I spoke to then said "oh right wait let me speak to the field tech again." I got a call back about 1 hour later giving me an estimate of $1,187 roughly. I'm thinking how did it go from $187 to $1,187. I called home choice warranty again and they initially raised my repair contribution from $400 to $600. I told them keep your money just cancel my policy. The person I spoke to then was very friendly and said "I really want to help, let me see what I can do and call you back." He called me back and said I had two options I can receive a $1,000 credit towards fixing or I could get a new unit and get 1,000 towards the new unit. I asked how much the new would be and he said it would take one hour or maximum two hours to get back to me. Never got a call that day. next day Lenisha employee number 1852414 calls me with an attitude tell me that $600 had been authorized and I tried explaining was I was waiting on from the previous day, She very rudely said well you're only authorized for $600 and we are waiting for a response from the repair company. I asked to speak to someone else and for her information. she said "there is no one else here, I am the person you need to be speaking to." i told her that there was a lack of communication within Choice home warranty employees and that I would like to just cancel my policy. she let me know i would get my refund between 15 to 30 days. This is something I purchased to get piece of mind. you will always get denied unless you have an extended policy as I did and even then they will give you the run around and have you on hold for hours to waste your time. nothing was fixed! I also received and e-mail saying to give them a good review and in turn i would receive one extra month of coverage and that they would only use my review if in turn they saw it fit in benefit to their company.
