This warranty company is the worst. We recently had a water heater leak and they dispatched a plumber out paid our service fee and low and behold the tank needed to be replaced. Well, they don't replace any tanks that hold water. Really?? Isn't that what water heater tanks do? Color me stupid. On my warranty booklet it says what's covered Water Heater until you go into the exclusion part of the water heater section pretty much everything is excluded. So my thought was in the what's covered it should say water heater parts. Sucker!!!!! In my opinion do not purchase any warranty with this company. We also got screwed with our air conditioner as well a couple of years ago I should have canceled my policy then. Oh well live and learn

PLEASE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS JUST LIKE THIS ONE!!!! This company is a JOKE! I never leave bad reviews unless it is REALLY BAD! I paid in full up front for a 3 year warranty on my home. After months into it our microwave above the stove went out. They sent a tech out and it could not be fixed so they said they would "replace" it. First off their idea of "replace" is a rediculous low cash amount that could not even buy a counter top microwave and they do NOT COVER INSTALLATION, SHIPPING, DELIVERY NOTHING! They first offered me something like $100 (keep in mind the microwave we had was a large top of the line over the stove model that THEY STILL MAKE and costs over $500). After being assigned basically a complaint representative they put the value at $260 and would not go any higher than that at all. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the microwave and figure out how to get it installed ourselves. THAT WAS WELL OVER A MONTH AGO AND WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE CENT FROM THEM! Okay then to the electrical downstairs. We had a light go out in our living room. This was several months ago. TO DATE WE HAVE HAD NO TECHNICIAN COME TO THE HOUSE AS THEY CAN NOT FIND ONE AND EVERY TECHNICIAN THEY TELL ME I CAN CHOOSE MYSELF, WHEN THAT PERSON CALLS THEM THEY BASICALLY TELL THEM THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH THEM OR PAY THEM ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THE MARKET RATE FOR ELECTRICAL WORK! Now my final straw. When it rains it pours. Last week our fridge stopped cooling food and started pouring water all over my hard wood floors. Call the warranty company. They said it would take up to 3 days to find a technician (did I mention water pouring all over hard wood floors?) I told them that was to long they said they would do their best to have someone contact me that day but just as a disclaimer the lady on the phone proceeded to read to me in the contract where it says they do not cover any water damage or water only claims for refrigerators. That being said since I did state that the fridge was not cooling they would still get a tech out to me. The tech gave me an appt over a week later which I told him what was going on and he was AWESOME and came out the next day. He said my fridge had several issues and is probably not going to be able to be fixed. Choice sends me a cash out email regarding the claim giving me $499 for a side by side stainless steel fridge with water and ice!!!! I refuse and tell them that is almost insulting to think you could replace a fridge for 500 unless it is a top bottom teeny tiny apartment fridge. (Remember my fridge is not working and this is two days later so at this point my cooler chests we have filled with ice and have all of our food in are getting a little to much to deal with). She then offers me $600 then finally says $700 is the absolute max they can go they have no ability to go higher. I spent over an hour. She tells me they get their prices from their in house whole sale pricing. At one point I told her "great, you can get my fridge for that cost! Perfect then send it on over when can I expect delivery?" She tells me they do not actually send any appliance replacements. Yeah no kidding because they darn well know what they offer people to replace their appliances with you could not find those appliances beat up at a thrift store for that cost!! She says they will mail me the check for $700 but it can take up to 7 days to receive. This was 2 days ago. Keep in mind I am STILL WAITING for the check for the microwave AND an electrician to be able to fix my living room light. I was a fool and recommended this company to a friend that purchased with them. Oh the other kicker to the entire story is I told them I wanted to cancel but then she tells me that if I cancel they will give me a prorated refund on the 3 years I paid for but no replacement check would be issued. So I have to wait the 20 days (yeah right) for the fridge check and make sure I get the over month old microwave check before I can cancel this fraud company. I am 100% certain a class action lawsuit will one day be the end of this company or at least the absolutely ridiculous joke of a policy they provide. Hope this review get's used in the lawsuit because I am certain one is bound to happen at some point. In fact I pray a high end attorney purchases a warranty from these crooks. My legal name is Genesis and I am from Colorado Springs Colorado and I can not wait to be able to cancel this warranty!!!

I am very disappointed in choice home warranty. I received choice home warranty when purchasing a home. After year with no claim. I renewed with Choice(paid for the year) Less than a month after renewing. My A/C stop working. Choice sended a tech out. When I tell you he was in my house ten minutes, it may have been 15 minutes. He saw that I had Nest thermostat. He said there’s nothing wrong these do this all the time. He unhooked a wire put back. A/C came back on. He never looked at the outside unit. Fast forward about 4 weeks. A/C stop working again. Choice send other tech. I tell you he show in pick up truck with ladder no company name or nothing.(nice guy) That’s exact what it was. He looked at the unit and said that it was my Compressor. Of course Choice denied my claim. It seems to me anything that cost over certain amount money by looking at the reviews Choice finds away not to pay. Choice told us we remove safety features on the unit. I remind you. The only person that has did any repair the my unit was a tech that Choice send out. (They could not say it where dirty because, I get my A/C Cleaning and maintenance twice a year) The appeals process is a joke. I talk with Micyah H. She told me that we remove some safety feature causing the compressor to burn up. I have zero knowledge about A/C. There was no second look. They are going by the word of the guy with pick up truck and ladder. While she sit behind her deck in A/C. Wife and I tried to call her again left message she never returned calls. I’m just going leave you guys with this. I’m 21 year veteran of the Navy. If we keep allowing companies like Choice Home warranty. Keep ripping us off it’s our fault. I will be posting my story on every website that I can. I challenge you guys to do the same. If you are looking for home warranty please, take it for what it is. “IT IS NOT “going to gave you a piece of mind.

I called this company on a Sunday and did not get a person to come until Tuesday, and was told at that time told that he had to gets parts to the air cond and didn't have time to go get one same day because he had other clients to go help. I had to take my 87 year old mother to a hotel for three nights that I couldn't afford so that she wouldn't possible die from a heat stroke, as our house was prob already reading about 90 degrees. Any company that has no regard for an elderly person in this type of situation is not a company that has empathy for its clients. I cancelled the appt the warranty company had set up and they would not pay for hotel or give me any money back, as I wanted to void my agreement with them. There was only one lady that cared at all, but there were two that needed firing. Please think long and hard before signing up with this company because no matter what, they won't work with you the way they explain things when setting up your account with them. My advise is ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I have had this warranty since 03/29/2019, switched from another warranty that I had for 2 years because I thought I would save some money. I have had nothing but trouble out of this company and them reimbursing me for services. I had a claim on my pool pump motor and filter and they didn't even have a pool company to send to look at it. I had to wait 5 weeks to get it fixed due to waiting on them and then discovering they didn't have anyone and then having to find my own company. They have very low max amounts on all services that I didn't realize when i had signed up, which is my fault for not investigating more thoroughly. I had had 6 claims on my A/C unit since April 2019 because all of their techs that they send out cannot determine what the problem is and get it fixed for good until ,then my compressor completely goes out, then they want to deny the claim because of non maintenance and other issues that COULD have happened but couldn't pinpoint exactly. I appealed the claim and sent maintenance records and it took them 3 days to finally come to a conclusion that they would send me $1,000.00 for the parts and I have to find someone to put them on. I mean really?? I thought that's why they have technicians that are sent out to fix the products that are supposed to be covered under your warranty. I tried to cancel the warranty after having it for only 5 months after paying for a total of 3 years and they took all of my claims that had been paid and were going to deduct it from my original payment which was not even half of what I paid. This company is a very sorry excuse for a warranty company.

I purchased the full plan from Choice Home Warranty NOT the basic plan. Our AC Conditioner went out in Phoenix Arizona. They sent out a tech named Ricardo from Crispy Heating and Air. This guy looked at our AC and said the pipes are frozen and said they needed to thaw before he could do any work. He said we had to turn the AC off for 2 hours then left and said he would be back. Well the pipes thawed in 20 minutes in the summer of Phoenix. Ricardo (Rick) could have waited for the pipes to thaw, didn't even look in the attic. And this Ricardo guy was mainly interested in giving us his business card so we could call him for side work. Ricardo said it was because we had clogged filters and to leave them off. But the pipes still froze anyway and still NO cold air. Then we called Crispy Heating and Air and told them to send out a different guy. They sent out a tech named Nick and he said we had a leaking AC coil do to erosion and that he would let Choice Home Warranty know. Choice Home Warranty told us because the coil was leaking from erosion, they wouldn't cover the cost. But what about the $75 service fee we paid? They didn't fix anything!! We are SOL. And just got the $45 monthly free taken out. We called Parker and Son and they said the coil wasn’t leaking and was just really dirty and that we also needed to get the AC capacitor replaced. This Crispy Heat and Air doesn’t know what they are talking about. My guess is their techs aren’t certified. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY OR CRISPY HEATING AND AIR!!!

Air conditioner went out on a Sunday. Went online and submitted a claim on Monday. Went back in later that day to ask for 48 hour turnaround. Later that evening received notification that it was for my case was assigned to a company for the phone number and a date of two days later with a window of five hours. At 4 1/2 hours I contacted the company and was told that they no longer work with choice Home warranty. When I contacted the company, which is not 24 hour customer service, I was told that they have to resubmit everything and within 24 hours I would be contacted with somebody else if they’ll send out. They could not expedite they couldn’t do anything and we’re in 100° weather and we’re dying I’ve got five dogs we are just overheated

Dear Choice Home Warranty, I submitted my claim for the AC repair. The tech came out and advised the repair was not covered. Left the job without getting and approval or denial. I am requesting financial assistance on this claim. The report identified that a lizard caused this malfunction, which in my opinion is an act of God. I paid the initial $60 dollar deductible. I then had the repairman return to address then a leak he found that was also not covered, then I paid an additional $240 to Map Mechanical, and then yesterday another $175, and now being told the evaporator coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. So far I have expended $475.00. My Warranty company has covered nothing at this position it. The evaporator coil I am told is also not covered under the Choice Home warranty. Additionally $500 to $1000 must be expended to cure the leaking coil. Please reread the technicians report and take some responsibility and accountability. I am not seeing a need for a warranty if everything’s my is not covered. Have a blessed day. In the military we would not pay someone towards yam it m an then pay someone else to fix it, paying for it twice seems real stupid. I guess that’s the objective. No accountability and no responsibility. The very thing that caused the repair is not covered, rust and dirt which causes failures. “The unit is outside in dirt and the elements. 😡😡😡

This service deserves ZERO STARS. As a warranty company for major appliances in a home, it was not disclosed up front with all the other great info that if you have a claim and Choice decides to "replace" the item that a) You get their "in-house prices" I have a side by side Frigidaire fridge. My fridge cost me $2375 on sale when I bought it 5 years ago. I expected depreciation, what I didn't expect was this ripoff company to offer me $499.99 for a "single door" refrigerator. There is no where that I can replace my fridge with less than $500 and I'm sure there are people with one but I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WITH A SINGLE DOOR REFRIGERATOR in their kitchen. b) After asking where they came up with that amount and getting several answers from several people, the most ingenious one was "we use Choice in-house pricing". I asked to see that in writing or to get the name of the retailer that sells for the price I was told they don't actually buy or price the appliances, they just use some little know secret to come up up with an ridiculous "replacement value price". c) The offer was finally raised to $700, whoop de doo. At the point I just wanted to be over and done with and start on my search for a reputable warranty company, this resolution person tried to make it seem like she was doing me a favor and that it was outside of company policy but just to satisfy me.............ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? I PAY PREMIUMS EVERY MONTH WITH THE MISGUIDED ASSUMPTION THAT MY APPLIANCES ARE 100% COVERED. Choice definitely DID NOT DO ME A FAVOR by offering me less than 1/3 of the going rate to replace my fridge and let Ms. Resolution know that in no uncertain terms. d) After all of this hassle I just wanted the money so I can go on my merry way. Here is the most amazing part CHOICE DOES NOT DO ELECTRONIC CLAIMS. They mail you a check they takes up to 30 DAYS for you to get. Now let that sink in..............I am getting less than 1/3 the value AND I have to wait up to 30 days to get a check in the mail. It's absolutely not that Choice does not have the capability to do this. After all, they debit my account faithfully every month. They just choose to put the customers through more aggravation for no reason except maybe to save themselves a couple of pennies. e) I accepted this "generous offer" (complete sarcasm) and now I had to wait. The offer was accepted on 22 Jul 2019 but I was told it would be within 30 days that I would get the check. Again this is for a major appliance that is a necessity not a want. I call on 14 Aug 2019 because I haven't received the check. I was told that the check are held 30 days and then sent so I would receive my check next Thursday which would be 22 Aug 2019. So this company is not interested in helping the clients at all. The pay out for legitimate claims are laughable, they use the antiquated slow postal service to pay claims but process their payments electronically just fine. Then instead of processing the claims and getting the client the laughable payout, they hold it for as close to 30 days as possible. f) Let's not forget EVERYTIME I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR I GET....their on the phone or not available. Most times put on hold (I assume to erase all notes because when I call back nothing is there) for a long time and eventually hung up on. But I have time, I just continue to call back. g) I just spoke to a supervisor that says it takes 20 days for ANY claim, no matter what the claim is, to cut the check then whatever time for the mail to get to you. WHY WOULD A WARRANTY COMPANY NOT PROCESS AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE??????? DO NOT GET TAKEN IN BY THE LOW SERVICE CALL PRICES........ AS LONG AS YOU DON'T NEED A REPLACEMENT IT'S GOOD BUT AS SOON AS YOU DO...........

I received a Choice Home Warranty paid for by the previous home owner who sold to me. From my perspective, I had to practically demand every repair be covered. Twice they claimed that the repair was "pre-existing" due to a problem found with my home inspection reporting water pressure was slightly above recommended. Once the technician broke the control knob (we had before pictures dated) and thus they would not cover repair - and told me that I would have to take it up with the repair company. There went my water tank and leaks being covered. The air conditioner repairs were a nightmare as once we were left in the heat for several days - in the south. My children had to go stay somewhere else with someone else. They refuted every recommendation the air conditioning technicians made, thus multiple service calls ended up being made. The last call before our one year warranty termed - took over six weeks to before they admitted the service company was not going to come back - after several stalls (and calls on my part). It is mid August. A new technician came today, but who knows how long it will be until it is finally fixed. Our contract has been expired over two weeks.

My garage door opener was not working. Call the company and file a claim. They assigned their technician , but this guy never showed up. For the third time, nobody did show up to check my garage door opener out and it has been 3 weeks down the line. Until they offer me to find my own technician and they will reimburse me after I fixed it on my own. But now it has been over 2 months. They did not send me the check. I keep calling back to check on it . But everybody I’ve talked to, give me a different answer. As of now, I did not receive my reimbursement yet. It seem like they don’t want to pay for it after I’ve fixed it on my own. Please, do not buy their insurance. Get away from them if you want to save yourself a headache and money.

Choice Home Warranty is a sham Triumphant at cheating their customers. Please don't fall victims to the false and insincere information about HVAC coverage that Choice home warranty displays on their webpage. Our AC unit failed and choice warranty made up stories of a possible power surge to deny our claim even after 3 different technicians clearly stated the cause of AC failure was a grounded compressor which could be because of weather or manufacturing defect or even just spontaneous failure. And yet Choice home warranty just stuck to this made up story so as to use it as a clause for claim denial. They also will just avoid picking your calls once a claim adjuster has been assigned for fear of having to answer valid challenges to their denial and when they will make up lies as to why they can't accept the claim. Choice home warranty is a sham and doesn't care for its customers.

Please do NOT waste your TIME or MONEY!!! After having work done of our AC unit I decided to go with a home warranty to help if anything was to ever happen again. I was ensured by the sales representative that everything AC wise would be covered under my policy. Well when the AC went out they sent out a technician that carried no tools with him. Took 3 minutes to look at the AC, took my $80 deductible, and said that he had to get a leak check order first but it's usually promptly approved. A few days later I receive an e-mail that my claim has been denied because, "the technician said that the leak happened too fast and had to begin occurring before my contract date." I wrote in an appeal as offered in the e-mail. A few days later I was assigned to a case manager. After a week from not hearing from anyone I sent an e-mail directly to the case manager. Two days later after no response I called. The case manager talked down to me and told me that the technician did not need tools that even he could have diagnosed the problem himself without tools. He then said that my particular AC problem was not covered per the fine print of the contract. Besides huge loop holes in their coverage they have very poor customer support and apparently little to no training of their sales representatives because I also ended up with two accounts and was charged double payments for two months for having two plans on one house! However, every time I called they have trouble finding my policy! THEY ARE A JOKE!

I called for a plumbing problem. Choice could not provide on and authorized me to hire and would be reimbursed. They wouldn't reimburse me but after several calls they promised me 100.00 which I didn't receive. Called back after thirty days and they said it was an oversight and they would send out the 100.00. When I wanted to cancel policy they deduct any payments they have made for repairs. They offered another 80.00 for the trouble. I finally received the first 100.00 but never received the other 80.00. When I called, they said it was an oversight and would mail. Still have not received the remaining 80.00 so I just sent information to Attorney General in NJ and Texas. Hopefully will save another homeowner from this company.

I had American Home Shield and drop them because a contractor did not show up to check my air and it was over 100 degrees. Then I went to Home Choice and I am about to drop them. I placed a service call on July 20 and August 3rd or 4th they said that they notified Alltec Plumbing to come out, the contractor does not accept home warranty and they called me and emailed me the information indicating that I could not pay the 75.00 service fee if I wanted them To come out I would have to pay the regular fee of 125..00 (Again I have my email from them). Then two weeks later I received another email saying Alltec would be out. Again, when I called them they did not have a service record of the request. By this time, I am furious because I had to pay for another unit and this company was being deceitful. I called the service representative trying to maintain myself and asked her to stop the electronic payment from my account. Well the money was withdrawn three days later. To add insult to injury I received a survey on Wednesday and I decided to complete the survey on Thursday. The survey had expired. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE, BUYER BEWARE and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau in New Jersey!! Angela Robinson, Grambling, LA

DONT DO IT! My wife and I are getting older and wanted to look into a home warrenty. After shopping we were convinced that Choice was our choice. Well we bought a 6 year plan with the salesman guarantee that we would be completly satisfied. The reason that we decided to look into a home policy was the fact that our A/C heating system was 26 years old and we were concerned about that. The salesman at Choice eased our concern and assured us that everything would be covered regardless of the age. Well we bit the bait hook line and sinker. Our A/C went out one early morning, the afternoon temperatures were in the upper nineties. After waiting all day a technician showed up, took my deductible, then told me that there was nothing that he would about fixing my problem due to liability issues. Three days later another technician that I hired came in and replaced a bad capacitor and told that the blower motor needed to be replaced due to age. Choice denied the claim. Told me that it was due to lack of proper maintenance, that is not true. My wife and I decided to replace the unit. Choice is refusing to take part in any of the repairs. This is a warning to anyone looking for a home warrenty policy. DONT BUY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. Bad Choice.

I would never recommend your company. You are the worst to deal with, and we've always had to argue to get things done that were supposed to be covered. You can't even get contractors to answer your requests for service due to your putting them on hold for long periods of time, and putting them through questions in an unprofessional manner. An example of our last incident was over a refrigerator service claim we put where you could get no servicer to respond. You told us to get our own person and would NOT cover the higher service call. That tech said he would never deal with your company. Choice home warranty is a scam. They will not get my business ever again. My AC went out and the HVAC tech they sent told me totally wrong information saying that my alarm system(Vivint) was the reason my AC would not come on. He was very incompetent which in turn they denied my claim. I got a second opinion the new HVAC tech immediately found what was wrong in 5 minutes (drainage issue) fixed & the problem so of course I paid out of pocket. I reached out to them to be reimbursed & they claimed that wasn’t wear and tear & it would not be covered under my warranty. My question is what good is having a “warranty” if when things happen you still have to come out of pocket! They literally found any excuse not to reimburse me, do not use this company you’ll regret it.

Please don't get into the trap of saving money. As soon as you have any expensive repair they will decline your claim with some excuse. Just look at their reviews before making a decision. They will definitely give you hard time trying to cancel policy even if you try to cancel after few hours saying that you haven't given us a try so and so forth. This is based on my personal experience. My AC stopped cooling and they refused and the case manager said your should have maintained you AC lines. Who in the world does anything with the lines. Maximum you clean coil and condenser. I should have listened to other people and cancelled my policy right away but got trapped by their customer server managers.

Moved into my house about a week ago and already have a plumbing issue. I called in to use the warranty and explained that there is literally human waste coming up from shower drain. Found out it’ll be a week before someone will come out to address it and when I called back to see if they could find another company to come out sooner due to the urgent nature of the issue(a huge health hazard) I was basically told it’s my responsibility to find someone else if I wanted it addressed sooner. Why are emergencies not addressed sooner and why is the responsibility on the customer to get the problem resolved? Glad the seller included this warranty at the purchase of the house cause I couldn’t justify the expense if this first experience is any indication. Certainly won’t be purchasing next year.

I have had the warranty program since February of this year, I called in a claim in August for a my kitchen faucet leaking. The service agent told me that it would be three days before a plumber would get to my home and I would be required to pay the $60.00 co-pay when he arrived. Three days later and with no water running in my kitchen. He arrived and first thing asked for the co-pay. I gave him a check he looked at it and took photos of the sink. He then went out to his truck and sent the pics in to them to see if they would approve the work. He came back in the home and advised the repair was denied. He stated they would be sending me an email of the denied claim and left. 10 min later received an email of the denial, stating fixture and faucet were not covered. I called Choice Home warranty to get some specifics as to the why. When talking to the agent was explained the why and regurgitated their policy and will not pay for the repair. When advising I would be dropping my policy I was referred to another agent and the first thing was said to me “let’s see if we can fix your sink and offered $100.00 to repair the faucet. I said no thanks, I believe that this issue was small and if this is how they deal with the small what will happen to the big? I lost all and any confidence I have had with this company. She went on for a few min attempting to change me my mind, going over what would be covered and money I would save. But in the end, it’s their perspective of what they will cover or not and get the feeling they denie a lot of claims that should be covered.

SCAM ALERT!! This company takes your money and denies your claim at all costs. My AC compressor went out on my outdoor unit on Sunday, a technician from a company THEY partner with came out Monday and deemed the problem a faulty compressor. Matt, the technician told me that it was no fault of my own and that he didn’t see why my home warranty shouldn’t cover it. One hour after Matt drove away, I received a claim denial email from choice home warranty. I appealed, and was assigned a case manager that I had to call back and retrieve her contact info. She was the worst part of the process as she would not reason and was very irrational. She wouldn’t answer any of my questions, refused to escalate my call, denied having a manager at one point, then told me her management team is not allowed to talk on the phone. At one point claimed the denial was due to the part being under warranty. When I told her it wasn’t under warranty she said then it was because it broke from circumstances not resulting from normal wear and tear. I had reports of how I was running my unit and she told me she didn’t want to see them. My family has been in a hotel this whole time and choice home warranty had been a nightmare!!

I have had a choice home warrenty for about three years. This was my first time making a claim. My washer stopped working and the repair man came out to look at it and send in an invoice to choice home warrenty. Choice home warrenty decided to give me $349 dollars to replace the washer. I rejected that office and they said that they would assign a claim person and that they would contact me in one business day. After eight days, I called and informed them that no one had reached out to me about the washer of my claim. I called them on the 7th of August and spoke to someone about the claim. They are now giving me $499 to replace the washer. The cost of a new washer whirlpool washer is around $685. With the $499 dollars, I will have to go out and find a washer, have it delivered to the home. have it set up and have the old washer removed. Having the washer delivered is about $150. having the old washer removed is about the same price. Setting it up is more. So needless to say that Choice home warrenty is not at the top, middle or botton of my list for home warrenties.

Choice denied replacement and repair both. They flat out lied to me stating that there were no specific problem recorded by the technician. That was a LIE I read the report BOTH reports that were sent into Choice. They stated in text to technician because units were older they wouldn't replace even though there was no neglect. The retention mgr was rude and disrespectful. When I asked to speak with her mgr. She told me she didn't have one. This company was deceptive from the start. Do not believe you have to pay for 12 months up front. I was on a month to month paying $37.50. Buyer Beware! Not a good Choice !

Choice Home Warranty has been iffy to say the least. They are as inconsistent as they are unreliable. We Had A/C issues in Las Vegas on a Thursday night. The Tech came out on Friday. The tech Aaron is very nice and finds a leak in the condenser coil and takes pictures. Aaron writes this on the work order,and also states it needs to be replaced. That afternoon I get a denial email stating " leak is due to rust and corrosion " mind you this is just off the pictures the tech took. ( this is a 9yr old unit)He stated nothing. else on the report. On Saturday Choice Home Warranty then gives me a email to get a case manager which of course they are not in until Monday. I have left email and a voicemail over the weekend they call back on Monday not to discuss but to reiterate the denial stands.! I tell them there is no rust or corrosion they place me on hold for 10 mins and thencome back on and states the denial stands. The is the reason I spent over $500 yr. Was to make sure my family is protected and that we wouldn't be in this position. Sidenote Las Vegas has been in a excessive heat warning since Friday 8 /2/2019 with the temperature averaging over 109. I look at Choice's web site and look at all the positive wording on why you should buy with them ,but in the end it is very deceptive. I gave 1 star because at least they send a good tech out.

I wouldn't even give this company one star. I had a plumbing leak and they sent out a tech from a company to do a diagnostic. He wasn't even able to open the drywall to access where the leak was coming from before they denied the claim. Plumbing is supposed to be covered! Buying a warranty through this company is a waste of money!!!! The company that they hired to do the service call told me they just started working with Choice Home Warranty and every claim they have went out to Choice has denied. I bought 6 years with this company.. I should be a valued customer.. Every customer should be. I was treated with such disrespect by every operator I had to deal with during this process. One actually called me a liar. I would strongly recommend NOT using this company for a home warranty.

I signed a 3 yr contract. I have had two major things break 2 years into the contract. My double oven with convection isn’t working anymore. Instead of fixing it they decided to replace it but are only offering me 550. To replace them. That’s a third of what units cost. Our air conditioner also broken. Repairman told us it needs to be replaced. Choice says no. They just want a new compressor installed. Repair man says it’s a temporary fix that will end up only fixing it for this season and we will run into same problems next season. Save your money— this company is a rip off.

First they gave us the name of a contractor who didn' show twice, then they gave us a second name. When they didn'the show up we called the company only to find out they didn't have us on their schedule but they don'the work with home warranties. Here we are a month later and they gave us another company, and when we called them because we needed to reschedule. Once again we weren't anywhere to be found on thier schedule. I paid my $60 when they were dispatched and whatever agreement the 2 companies made ended up in a lawsuit from the company choice sent out to provide an estimate. They were contracted through my home warranty company not myself for my rental property. I paid my portion which was the $60 service call fee. They came out, provided an estimate and we politely declined. Repairs were NEVER made to my homeboy them; another contractor provided service and repairs. 11 months later they are trying to sue me (Choice Home warranty is who the agreement was with, NOT ME) for work that was NEVER DONE. THESE CONTRACTORS NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH and UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS BEFORE THEY SIGNUP AND AGREE TO DO WORK FOR HOME WARRANTY COMPANIES AND OTHER ALIKE.

Consumer Beware. If I could rate this company a zero I would. We have had this company for a year after switching from a previous company upon relocating. They are extremely slow to address and dispatch technicians. We usually have to follow it up because they do not. It has been a very costly mistake and we will not be renewing. Watch your credit card as well if you do decide to go with this company. They charged us $3000 that we never authorized last year and we had to jump through several hoops to get them to refund it. Our recommendation is that you take your time, do your research on home warranty companies and avoid our mistake.

Called for Faulty Garage Door Opener on Sunday (24/7 claim service) ENDED UP HIRING A COMPANY TO COME OUT & SAVED $25 Asked if they would have someone out today since it was stuck in the open position and was told yes (if not I was going to call and pay myself). As soon as they took the claim I received the email stating that AA Same Day Garage Door Service would be out between 12pm-3pm. At 3: 45 I called to make sure they would be out that day. I was told by AA (VERY RUDE WOMAN) they don't work on Sundays but they would for an additional fee. I asked why she accepted the claim if they didn't plan on coming out when they agreed, she knew I would be taken out of the system for service needed. She really couldn't care less. (CHW confirmed this is NOT the policy and they should have only charged the $75 service fee) since I wasn't willing to pay extra I had CHW cancel and resubmit the request. Within 5 min I received the email that another garage door company had accepted and this time they scheduled it for Thursday (4days later) so I called the local company only to be told that it would cost 375 to fix the problem. I called a company myself and had it done within 2hrs and was only charged $50. Customer service could care less about the fact that companies are accepting the claim and have no intentions of coming out. I was even told by the second company that they just hit the accept button so they get the job, even if they aren't able to actually do the work same day as requested. It seems that CHW is not only ripping off the customer but they apparently have ripped off the service companies to the point that you become a "rainy day" customer (meaning if they are slow they will show and no guarantee that they will EVER come out. I was basically offered same day if I didn't use CHW or was told I would have to pay extra even if CHW sells you on the flat rate fee 24/7 service.

This was by far the WORST company to get a home warranty through. We started having problems with our central AC, they sent out a technician which quickly said one of our units was completely out of Freon. He submitted it which then they quickly denied the claim saying there was rust or corrosion (which they deny), keep in mind, the technician did NOT open or even look inside the AC unit. I asked how they knew that it was caused by rust and corrosion and the representative said they just knew, I questioned it and he basically said there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to pay for a leak test (roughly $700) and if it was something other than rust or corrosion, they would reconsider looking into it more. I spoke with multiple HVAC companies and said there are defiantly other ways the Freon could leak, I called back 3 times to my "specialist" with this info and he NEVER called back, then I called back 3 more times speaking to 3 "managers" and they all said I would get a phone call within 24 hours. NEVER got a call back. One manager said the technician should have taken pictures to send in which he didn't and they would send out another technician, he said he understood my side, but guess what, never happened. I finally called back and said I wanted my money back, after arguing with them for almost an hour they finally agreed to pay me back the unused portion of my warranty and promised me a customer relations specialist would call me to discuss the unsatisfactory customer service. Yep, that never happened either. Complete wast of money and HORRIBLE, I stress HORRIBLE customer service, I wouldn't recommend this company if my life depended on it to my worst enemy. All I wanted was a call back.

I have an air conditioner that stopped working a month ago. I called choice home warranty and I took them almost six weeks to get a technician to come take a look. The tech said it was normal wear and tear and that I needed a new shaft and fan. Supposedly the choice package I have is full comprehensive coverage. However they denied my claim saying it was based on the damage. Even the tech said this is a common occurrence in most units and he can tell I stopped usage right away. Well that has been over a week. I had a case manager assigned named Taylaya M and she has yet to respond to three emails and two voicemails left on her line at work. I guess I have been paying choice home warranty since July of 2007 for nothing because as a bi lateral amputee. On dialysis at home I need it cooled in this hot summer month. I guess choice home warranty only approves claims when they want to. It is not a fair process at all. I will be canceling my warranty. If you are reading this I would go with another home warranty like amazon.

Worst company ever ..Total ripoff ...They expect your so called "unexpected home repairs" to happen only on the weekdays....Their claim of sending a technician within a 24-hour window is a big BS, their technicians do not work on weekends and if anything happens during the weekend you have to find someone on your own and they will find 101 ways to NOT pay you.. Was a customer for quite some time and based on the horrible experience I canceled the service. One other thing you have to deal with is their rude and worst customer service reps. Do yourself a favor by NOT throwing your money down the drain.

Sales pitch was good. Customer Service when reporting the claim good. Technician who arrived...good. CHW denied the claim. same as many others 'rust or corrosion". The technician said nothing to us of rust or corrosion on the HVAC. Our technician did state the CHW would deny the claim because the deny ALL claims. Still fighting and arguing to get the AC repaired in Texas. No one has the authority to approve the claim, and I cannot speak with the person who does. I currently have 4 policies with CHW. There is a $50 cancelation fee for each policy. That alone would cost me $200. The main reason people in the south keep home warranties if for the AC. What is the point if the claim is denied and you still have to pay out of pocket?

FRAUD by CHOICE HOME WARRANTY (CHW) and its HVAC vendor. July 21, 2019 --> I filed this claim as my AC had stopped working. July 22, 2019 --> HVAC tech comes in from "R&M Heating and Cooling". They collect the $65 service fee. They tell me that they will submit the diagnosis immediately and will repair my HVAC unit the following day(July 23, 2019). July 23, 2019 --> I call the AC vendor and they say that CHW had not approved the claim as yet. I call CHW and they say that a diagnosis has not been submitted by the vendor as yet. Then I call the vendor who says that he thought he had submitted the diagnosis but must have slipped his mind, he will submit again. July 24, 2019 --> Diagnosis was submitted by the vendor to CHW. CHW asked my home inspection report and they approved the claim. For the next 5 days there is no communication from "R&M Heating and Cooling". They would not answer my calls. Finally i reached them from a different cell number, they were very arrogant and would say that i was not on their calendar for repairs and it was not a convenient time for them to schedule my repairs. July 29, 2019 --> I finally get my own HVAC service person and give CHW a call and they approve a diagnosis submitted by my own HVAC service man. CHW tells me that they would cover the cost at their own rate. $358.61 for the Blower motor and $72.00 for labor. They would send me a check for $ 430.61. Job is finished, i pay my HVAC service man out of pocket $942 for replacing the Blower motor and CHW tell me on the phone that they would reimburse me. Then CHW send me an email that they would be sending me a check for $160 instead of $430.61. July 30, 2019 --> I call CHW helpline, they listen to what i had to say, put me on hold for extended time and finally tell me that $160 is all that they would pay. I told the CHW rep to listen to the call recordings that they have and honor what they promised me. To that they say that at this time they cannot do so. Further CHW informed me that they cannot be held liable for their vendors and their behavior. I would definitely NEVER recommend this CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

Have tried to reach a supervisor for 3 days regarding waiting since July 14 for my ac to be fixed. First part came in defective. Now I'm told to wait til between August 5-8. We are in record breaking temps and I have asthma. I asked if I purchased a window unit would i be reimbursed and was told no. So I guess I will sue the company if I have an asthma attach. Meanwhile waiting 1 month for a part and my ac to be fixed. UNACCEPTABLE - customer service with returning a call is horrible. My next step is to contact the News Channel - I would be willing to pay myself if I would be reimbursed.. but I was told no.. The 2nd part ordered should have been expedited... I am looking into cancelling and transferring to another home warranty that is willing to provide the help the customer needs especially after this was paid for 2 years in advance. BUYER BEWARE

I have been waiting 15 days for my a/c to be repaired during this time our average tempetures has been 110 all I have received is the runaround and no resolve I felt at the time I purchased this warranty after having for a year they were a decent company. Since renewing for three years it seems I have had no support from the company they are always trying for us to pay out of pocket and submit a reimbursement claim. As I have told them this is there job and that is what I pay them to do being I feel claim will be denied and I will be out the money. With this said I would rather have my money back and fined another repeatable company being the technicians I have spoke to have informed me this is one of the worst companies the deal with for home warranties. Let’s see how much longer we will wait for resolve of this issue. ☹☹ not a happy customer

After YEARS of faithfully paying every month, when my AC went out in ALABAMA Saturday, my claim was denied. False advertising to say the least! I have proof of that! Since Saturday, my 9 month pregnant daughter, her 14 month old, and I have suffered in the heat and THEY KNOW THAT! You should see the ridiculous reason they gave for not paying. I didn't do anything wrong at all yet they denied my claim. If there was a 0 star, I would have chosen that. THEY DO NOT PAY FOR REPLACEMENT. I am sure it is a standard form they send out. If they were who they said they were and did what they said they did, then there would be not problem. They take your money but WILL NOT PAY YOUR CLAIM. It's hot in Alabama.

I agree with previous review. My A/C claim was denied because they do not cover "rust and corrosion". The technicians report stated there was no rust and corrosion so Choice came back with another denial code as to not be responsible for paying for the repair. Our out of pocket expense was over $450, in addition to the $45 deductible. I also own several rentals and have had similar issues with them. I will be taking my business elsewhere when my contract with Choice is up. Don't get lured in by the "low deductibles" and their advertised "great coverage". It's just simply not true. Choice does not seem to be in the business of paying out claims or taking care of their customers. Please look elsewhere!

The company is deceptive. They contacted me and offered 13 months of coverage for the same price. Their website offers the first month free, also incorrect. I paid in full when I initiated the policy on July 17th. My overhead microwave went out Saturday, July 27th and I was told they do not cover this as this was a preexisting condition. They informed me that in the policy it states that we have to wait 30 days before using the policy. So the first month is NOT free and never was this information disclosed. I feel like this company takes advantage of its customers with a bait and switch method. They only tell you what you want to hear and leave out the important details. I'm going back to my previous home warranty company and will make sure to share my experience with every site permitted. Unbelievable that Best Company lists Choice Home Warranty as a reputable company.

They took our $65 copay after leading us to believe the oven was being covered and then denied our claim. We were told by several others we were fools for believing Choice Home Warranty was not a scam, and they were right. Complete scam. Save your money. If you have the warranty included in a home purchase do NOT file a claim. They will just take the copay and deny your claim on some bs of pre exsiting conditions, the home is too old, the appliance is to old, this part isn't manufactured in the united states. Very disappointing. Oh and their technician was 8 hours late and reaked of pot.

The worst experience I have ever had with a home warranty company. I have owned six homes over the years and used several different companies, never had a problem. My home was built 10 yrs ago and was upgraded to premium appliances. my washer went out and they sent the inspector out. He said the board was bad. 3 days later Choice said they were not going to fix it, told me they would send me a check for 300.00 to replace my 800.00 washer! I had to fight just to get them to pay 400.00. The check took 3 weeks. 1 month later AC goes out, 110 degrees in AZ called them opened the claim and took four days for someone to come out. Called a day later to see when it was getting fixed, given the run around 8 days after initial claim was sent an email that said my AC coil was not covered. I have 4 kids and the indoor temperature over 100 terrible company! BEWARE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID. Certainly amongst the WORST. Had them come out to unblock A/C condensation line. They sent a contractor out that did not know his job. He blew the line out ok... but that is not the proper way to do the job. The line should be vacuumed (sucked) out and not blown out from the air handler. The result? you guessed it.... a leak from the condensation line that was blown apart at the elbow. Now we have a mold problem developing in the south Florida heat. Naturally I call them and they say they will send someone out. A large part of the kitchen ceiling is now soaking wet and water is dripping on the floor. This condition is completely explained to CHW. The " contractor" arrived two days later and three hours late for the appointment in his old Toyota sedan with ONLY a box cutter for the job!~ NOTHING ELSE! He started cutting the ceiling wallboard in a hit or miss attempt to locate the leak. While doing this he cut his hand on his box cutter and said he would have to leave! I told him I was sorry he injured himself but could not be happier to see him leave. He was totally incapable of doing the job. CHW must work very hard to find these incapable contractors that lack the very basic knowledge of their "trades". The A/C contractor and dry wall contractor were worthless. I contacted CHW to inform them of my utter disgust... got nowhere … cancelled my policy less $ 100 cancellation fee... another one of their rip offs. I swear that all of the details listed above are entirely true in fact. Please, please, stay away from this company! PS I would give them a ZERO rating but that is not an option

I would give this company zero stars if allowed and I cannot believe with all the negative comments, unethical behavior and total lack or regard for customer service this company is allowed to remain in existence and continue to profit from unsuspecting consumers. I unfortunately inherited this ridiculous company during the purchase of my new home in South Carolina (thankfully I did not choose this for myself) and I will say the moment it ends I WILL NOT BE RENEWING!!!! I am going on day 4 of no air conditioning in July and was told it would be another week because of a part that the 2nd vendor they dispatched to my home cannot get the part in a more reasonable time frame ( the vendor that was here previously could have had me up and running within an hour however that claim was denied) apparently they were "looking out for me" and trying to save me money; in the mean time I've paid at least 1 service call and lost two days pay at work due to them "saving me money" and I still have no air. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company for their poor choices made without my consent and shameful work practice. Please DO NOT allow this company to ROB more unsuspecting consumers and heed the advice of all the comments because I promise you they are all true!!!
