I have had CHW for over 15 years. They have paid only upto 50% of my claims with a 50% approval percentage.My most recent claim was for an AC evap coil on 09/27. I have had my system maintained through CHW every year. I call them to perform a checkup, they send a tech out, I pay my service fee. In May 2019, I called CHW again and asked for a checkup before summer. Everything was OK. Coils were inspected and found to have no corrosion. Fast forward to 09/27, my ac doesn't cool effectively. Called CHW, and a tech diagnosed a leak in the coil. He said that the support brackets has some light rust due to humidity in the gulf coast. The moment CHW heard RUST, they denied the claim. The fins and coils are made of copper / Aluminum and typically do not rust. But CHW keyed in on that word, and all was lost. I asked for a second opinion, and called a company i I found on BBB. They also called CHW in my presence, and specifically told the authorization agent, that the coils are leaking, but not due to corrosion or rust. The agent asked if there was Rust, so the tech replied there was rust on the support bracket and in the casing, but not on coil as the coils are made of copper and the fins are aluminum. Coils were leaking not as a result of issues not related to rust. But that was not enough. Case manager was nice, but did not budge from the denial. They had heard the word "rust", and even if it was on a different planet and was of a different variety of Steel based rust, that will not affect Copper or Aluminum, they determined that the claim will be denied. Very disappointed. I have maintained system every year. The AC in any part of the world is a de-humidification device. Also, if there is air in your home, there is going to be Oxygen (which we need to survive), Carbon Dioxide (which we exhale) and moisture (which exists in the environment). When air goes through a coil to cool down the home, it is going to condense moisture on the coil, which then drips into the primary drain pan and then to the drain. I am not sure how we avoid these components from entering the air stream . Our home was purchased brand new, and coil is 7 years old. I guess only one entity can benefit from having a service contract/insurance, and its definitely not the customers.

I was very pleased with response time regarding my claim, as well as the professionalism of service man. HOWEVER, when I went to pay the $85 service fee that Choice Home Warranty quoted, he said that he had never had anyone else with the same plan pay that much! He said they have paid $50 or $60, but never $85. Was going to email Choice Warranty, but couldn't find an email link on the home page, so now it's a public review!

1st experience - Had a leak through my garbage disposal. Submitted a request for a service call. In a timely manner someone came and looked at it submitted the info to CHW and later that afternoon had a new disposal same hp and brand. 5 stars Last experience. Washer was making a noise and ran all night long. Went through the same process, technician came out said I'll submitted the info for repairs. Next day get an "offer" from CHW for $349, stating that it's not worth getting repaired and we found the average replacement cost to be $349. I declined the offer because I couldn't find anything NEAR that price. Lori J was assigned to be my follow up contact with CHW. I explained that the unit was HE, stainless steel tub and those on the low end go for $700. She looked up what she thought was comparable and said X retailer had one for $529, we can make you an offer for $450. I said in that case I'll have mine repaired. She said I'll send you the check for that amount. I said don't you just send it to the technician, she said no. I'm not even sure if that will cover the cost for repairs. I declined that offer and now seeking advice. I'm glad it happened now, because now for sure I won't renew in a month when it expires

I have not had any major breakdowns while I was covered. I did have a faucet in a garden tub that broke. They first said it was not covered because it is a fixture. I argued that to fix it requires a major disassembly of the tub. They still would not get it fixed but paid me a small amount on the claim. I still can't afford to get the tub fixed. I don't know what would happen on a major claim. But I did sign up to renew the plan.

I called your office back in late August or early Sept. to report a problem with my Samsung refrigerator. I was told that someone would get back to me to get it fixed. Then I got a call back telling me they couldn't get anyone so if I wanted I could get someone to fix it. So I got someone and after he told me what was needed he was going to order the parts. Lo and behold I get a Tech from Sears over to fix my Samsung Refrig. and he tells me the other tech was ordering the wrong parts so he ordered the parts that he said would fix the problem and after waiting another week for the parts he comes Monday Sept.16 installs the parts tells me not to use the freezer for 24 hrs. So I waited 30 hrs and when I went to put something in the freezer it wasn't working not freezing anything so now I am frantic because my wife is telling me it's not working. So I call sears home services and I start getting the run around. After talking to your rep. and going through the one person to another person I finally have someone who tells me that I should call there office tomorrow morning to see if they can have someone come to fix me refrig maybe. So I wait till tomorrow wondering what happens next. I could go on and on but I have said enough for now, so that's my review. Let's see if anyone is paying attention to my statement.

What a joke? I submitted a claim after paying them for over 1 1/2 years. My AC stopped working. They sent out a repair tech and he said I needed Freon and said he added it to my unit. He told me I needed a UV light to kill mold in my AC which is weird because I have one in there. 🤔 After trying to sell me that for $1300 he left. 2 months later AC goes out again. I called out my own company and they informed me that my coil was leaking Freon. 🤔 Why didn't the guy they sent tell me about this issue? After my AC company tried to get Choice to repair the $2300 problem my claim was denied twice! I cancelled my policy as of today. They get their money but if something major happens you are still screwed. Thanks Choice. Glad I paid you for nothing. It will be over 100 degrees tomorrow here so myself, my wife and 4 small children thank you for ripping us off. Great Job! They offered to give me $150 toward my repair so I wouldn't cancel. No thank you! How about you do what I paid you to do!

I had two claims. One was electrical and I rate the experience a 10. Customer service call in service Ladies, Charo and Katia were very pleasant and professional in the handling of my service call .Mike P with A Team electrical was excellent in customer service and fixed the issue right away. The Garbage disposal issue was not so good. I rate the non replacement of the unit by Choice a zero. I had to pay for the replacement of $227.00 of the unit. David did a great job installing the unit and had excellent customer service. The only thing Choice paid was the plumber’s labor .Not Happy with Choice on the non replacement of the the garbage disposal. I will not renew Home Warranty with Choice if nothing is done about this. I’ve had Choice Home Warranty for years. I haven’t had to use it until last year. My AC wasn’t cooling. I submitted a claim and the next day I was given an appt. The appt time came and no one showed up. Turns out, my appt was rescheduled without them informing me. I expressed my disappointment being that I had a one year old son staying in extreme heat conditions in the middle of the summer. It took 2 weeks to get fixed but my fee was waived as an apology. Now I have another issue, my water heater is leaking. I submitted a claim Saturday August 10th. The rep told me that it won’t be covered if it’s coming from the tank. Cool, still send someone out because as a female, all I know is that the water heater is leaking. Upon further inspection, it’s leaking from a hose above and connecting to the water heater. Today is Wednesday, August 14th and I have yet to receive an appt. Technicians should be in my area due to me living right next to the 5th largest military base in the country and an hour away from Atlanta. As my water bill continues to increase, I keep being reminded of the reimbursement option that I shouldn’t have to use. That’s why I’m paying you! But secondly, why would I use that option if there’s a chance that it may not be covered? When instead of paying a big time company to replace a hose, I could’ve gotten a cheap self taught plumber to hook me up because money is low. I’ve never renewed my warranty. They’ve always automatically did it. But I’ll be sure to cancel when my current contract is up. It’s not worth the headache.

Reported a/c problem mid July. The temp was 90-100 degrees, not even cooling off at night. Choice told us that we had an assigned repairman. Was not contacted by their repairman for 6 days, at which time he was impaired (possibly drunk), and said that he would be here in a few hours...he was not. The next afternoon, which was 7 days with no a/c, he called, said that he got lost, and would be here shortly. It was getting dark, he was still obviously impaired, so I called Choice and reported it. I do not let strangers into my home at night. It was too dark to work on the unit anyway. They said they would call him, and cancel him, and assign another repairman. That has been over 2 weeks ago. We finally caught a repairman at a neighbor's house, and begged him to come fix ours. He did, and we just paid it out of pocket. Very inept company. I advise people to stay away from Choice. I don't know which one to recommend, but definitely not Choice.

I "bought" the warrantee when we closed on an existing home less than a year ago, a "premier policy" with replacement of repair coverage. 1. Two months after moving in our sump pump alarm went off. They were quick to respond with a plumber guy in a truck; he ripped into my closet wall to get to the pipes and suggested they were frozen. Oops, frozen pipes are not covered. Paid deductible and he left. 2. AC not cooling. Called and guy came out; says its all working fine. Paid deductible and he left. Had neighbor's AC guy come over and fixed it in 15 min. 3. dishwasher not draining. Called and guy came out next day. Found failed parts, and he sent info to Choice. No repairs and no replacement. You see, they have a unilateral policy to "fix or replace" at their discretion. Also they have unilateral policy to "replace or provide cash towards a new unit that I can purchase. They offered $177 for a new dishwasher (which barely pays delivery and installation). They asked how much I wanted for a new dishwasher and I itemized $550 at a minimum. They said $250 was highest they would go. replacement policy? My Ass! We are taking the issue to social media and complaint lines like this, because it is my unilateral policy to do so...

The first claim we made was for complete sewage line stoppage. The man came out and after sitting on the line for over 30 minutes to get approval to do the work hung up and done the job without approval. He informed me he would be glad to come again in the future if needed but he wouldn’t be working with choice again that he did not have time to sit and wait on approval to do the work. The second claim was on my air unit. THEIR service guy informed us he needed to find new coils for the older unit or they would have to replace the unit. Then I get an email from choice informing me that they are denying the claim. That leaking coils is not covered. The third claim was again for the sewage back up. Choice paid only for the line to be snaked. We had to pay another 350$ just for the man to pull the toilet and make the situation worse. He put the toilet back and did not even attach the supply line or bolt the toilet down. So when I saw there was no water and turned the water on the supply line sprayed water all over the place and the toilet slid from me leaning on it and it not being bolted down and the wax ring not being replaced. It took me over an hour to get all the excrement and wax ring off the floor, sink , toilet and cabinets. The man said he would come back with a camera. He never showed up and many calls and messages has not gotten a response from him. I looked the company up afterwards and they had a 1.4 rating with over 100 reviews. I feel very very ripped off by choice. Not only do they not cover crap but they also don’t care how good the people they send over are. We paid roto rooter over 100$ less and they fixed the problem and cleaned up behind themselves. I am canceling my contract and will discourage anyone from using choice home warranty. I wound up paying over 500$ to have a toilet snaked. Never again!

They were polite. My refrigerator broke and they first offered my $736.00 to replace my fridge and that was an unacceptable amount. I had to make an appointment with them for a phone call back that's limited to 15 minutes. I had to wait 2 weeks for the phone call in the meantime I have no fridge. They finally call me back and has adjusted the amount because of all the features on my fridge. They then changed it to $1,199 which is better than the original offer. My biggest issue is They are nit sending me a check or a visa gift card instead I get a Lowes e-card to buy my fridge and I don't have a Lowe's near me plus they are the most expensive when it comes to their appliances. We should be given an option on how we receive the money and not told where we have to go to get it.

I bought a policy from Choice Home warrenty in the beginning of 2019. I asked many questions mainly if they had technicians that serviced our area. We live outside a small town. Well Lo and behold my well pump went out. about a month after I paid for the service, I went without water for 4 days. I had to find my own plumber. Same thing happened with a burst pipe later. Then my AC I went a week while they tried to find a tech. Three people with major health issues they were aware of and no ac? again we had another plumbing problem . Thats 4 major problems plus we also had and electrical problem as well. I am not happy with the service so am not going to renew my contract. Out of pocket expenses so far this year with the fee Choice has was well over 3800 dollars out of my pocket. Im going to set aside 250 a month in a savings account to pay for repairs myself. Less aggrivation and I can find my own contractor.

I have no idea how effective or reliable CHW will be, as I only purchased the policy yesterday. It's a little ridiculous asking me to review CHW now. But I can state that their sales representatives are a little heavy-handed, and they need to let customers take the time to investigate and digest the way all this works at thier own pace. The high pressure sales tactics are a definite turn-off.

I paid for a service technician to check my AC Unit he said a couple vents were closed but everything checked out ok. He left and we were still had the same problem. I had to go on line and set up another service call in less than a week. A new company was sent out. He told us the unit had no Freon . He said right up front your company does not usually approve the replacement. 1st issue the original service call and shoddy service collected for the service call and did not see the problem. 2 nd issue what exactly is covered on AC/ Heatpump if it goes out? If I purchase a new unit is this Warrenty worth paying for?

My first claim, the guy came and said he needed to get a part. He didn’t come back for 2 months - after I contacted Choice to complain that I couldn’t get ahold of him. My second claim, Choice denied because you said that the repair person said that the unit was excessively worn down, but I was standing right by the repair person when he told your claim person that the unit in the condition of any unit of the same age. The plumbing claim was great, the guy was reputable and responsive and on time! The next plumbing claim, I asked to use the same person. Instead they sent a message that they were using someone rise, when I called him, he said he didn’t have anything from you and didn’t know who I was. I never heard back from him. I’m giving you a 2 Star because I did like the one plumber you sent. And your sales people are nasty! I finally blocked their number after they called every other day. One of them didn’t realize I had answered and he was talking to some other guy and using the F-word, which doesn’t in itself offend me - but it does in a sales call.

I have been American Home Shield since 1997, on 4 April 2019 I was reviewing an ad about Choice Home Warranty. I compared the prices and saw the offered military discounts and a few other deals. I agreed to give them a try and told them what AHS was covering. They provided the same coverage. I kept AHS until the current contract expired just in case... good thing I did. 5 May I had two issues that required a service call, dryer and ice maker in the refrigerator. The tech came out to check both items. I paid him he ordered the parts. Serval days later I was told the icemaker wasn’t covered because it was part of the water dispensing system. I could protest I did and they did a onetime approval. I called to cancel but I was assured it wouldn’t happen again. Two weeks past neither items weren’t repaired, I did not hear from the repairman. I contacted Choice 4 or 5 times was assured it would be repaired within a day. My concern was elevated to the resolutions department. They NEVER contacted me unless I call. 3 June was the last time I contacted them to cancel, they tried to get me to stay, they contacted the repairmen he once again told them he was expecting the second part the next day. I said not cancel. I was told I would receive $1100 back from my $1700 payment (3-year contract). this is less than two months. She claims they need to recoup their money for parts ordered, tech coming out, etc. After I explained she was incorrect, I was told I would be getting back $1300. I am considering a small claims lawsuit, contact the Texas State AG office about their service etc. Here is the kicker, the day after I canceled, I called AHS, the tech called same day, asked what was wrong, and for the name and model of dryer and fridge. He made an appt for the next day with parts in hand. It took him 10 mins to replace the part for the dryer. He had to order the part for the icemaker and it was replaced a week later. The parts were different than the Choice Tech said and it was not part of the water dispenser. Their customer service wasn’t that great.. I received a refund, I paid them in advance (do not do that) and with two months of service, I lost $300+. I am glad I am out of that contract. They are cheaper, it’s not worth getting Choice.. it’s not always about the money!

I really cannot rate Choice Home Warranty at this time. I reviewed the website and checked the reviews. A few minutes later Kendra contacted me in regards to a policy. She was very determined to get our business by offering discounts, but not pushy. We waited a few hours and then called back and signed up. We have had some bad experiences with Home Warranties, so until we have a need to use the service, I will give a negative or positive review. Kendra was excellent though.

Could have been a 5/5. Detractors: the time from start to resolution of the claim was over 3 weeks. 1st tech was unprofessional. Positives: 2nd tech saved the bacon absolutely wonderful tech (Climate Experts <- 5/5 for him) went well above the call of duty to help us get by while waiting on replacement parts that had been misordered by dispatch.

I'm New to Choice Home Warranty (just switched from AHS). I felt the Representative I started my contract with rushed thru our conversation trying to make sure I was going to start a warranty (like a fast talking salesman), scared was going to change my mind. I had called in a week prior & had a great conversation w/ another who was through & informative, so I already had my mind made up that I was wanting to switch over from our current Warranty... However, If I would have spoke with the 2nd Gentleman 1st I'm not sure I would have made the change. The customer should never feel like they are just a number and that is how I felt. I still made the switch for the simple fact that AHS customer service is less than Par and was in desperate need of change..hope I made a good decision

This was my first claim on my Choice Home Warranty. I called on a Sunday evening and was helped and had an appointment with a appliance repair person. The repair guy called and was able to come earlier than his scheduled time and fixed my washer.

Very quick to response I put a claim in 6;30 in the evening that my AC was not cooling down. A technician called me at 8;30 and came over 9pm and got it fixed ! Very impressed

Choice was able to set up an appointment for us to have AC checked. The appointment was set for Saturday morning between 7-11:00 AM. The technician didn’t call, I called for a status of arrival at 10:55 AM. Tech said they were running behind. I received a call at 1:56 PM that the tech was about one hour and 15 minutes away. Waited, no show. I called tech at 4:44 PM, left message regarding an update. Tech called back at 5:06 PM stating that they were in my area, but had another job. Acted as though it was my fault that they were late for my appointment and did not seem to want to come to look at my AC (90 degrees outside). They showed up at 5:45 PM, in a regular vehicle (black SUV). No apologies for been almost 11 hours late . Looked at AC unit, said the compacitor needed to be replaced. Tech said he had one in his vehicle. He replaced the compacitor. The unit started. My husband asked him to look at the thermostat because it would not set. The tech said oh the setting will stop blinking once it cools. The AC never cooled. The tech was there for half hour, did not stay to confirm the unit was working properly. This was our FIRST experience with Choice and it was not good. Had American Home Shied on another home, never had this problem. Depending upon the result of this situation, may have to go back. Choice was a referral from a family member. Having second thoughts if these are type of technicians they use.

I had a leaking washer. The Technician came on May 7 and said that some parts need to be replaced. It will take about 2 weeks to get the parts. Its almost over 3 weeks and the answer I get it that when the part comes we will fix it. I tried to get a date but no answer. I cannot imagine that in this advance age of technology, the parts company or factory cannot provide them with delivery date of parts. First it was 2 weeks, then 29th May and now its indefinite. I need to get washer fixed and have no clue when it will be fixed?

Not happy at moment. Purchased the home warranty shortly after purchase they called me to increase the length of the contract after a couple of calls we agreed to 3 year agreement. Had our first claim double oven went out, tech came out determined unit needed to be replaced could not be repaired. Was offered a ridiculous price of 30% of what replacement cost would be. I declined the cash offer of 30% to purchase a replacement. spoke with rep. said they NO LONGER offer REPLACEMENT. Only cash value of what they feel it would cost them to replace. I stated that I wasn't concerned with brand but if they could buy one for that cost please do so and have it installed. Said it's not their policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED. claim still not settled my agreement says repair or replacement. I was not informed of the fact they no longer do replacement so contract evidently was entered into fraudulently or with misinformation. As I have only had the policy a couple of months.

To be fair, the reason I could only give you a 3 star rating is probably Trane's fault, but it definately reflects on the feedback. Due to Trane's policy of not allowing service companies to have control boards in stock it took Trane 5 days to get the control board to the serviceman. When you add in the 2 day initial response time for the call, it took 7 days to get our air conditioner fixed and all it needed was a new control board. The only reason this call got a 3 star response is that the repairman was great. If not for him you would have got a 1 star review.

I had my first experience in a couple years now and when I called for my plumbing stoppage, the customer service rep was very nice but she told me they would get someone out to me in 3 days. I was not happy about that at all but fortunately I have another full bathroom that I could use. Had I not I would have been really upset. The plumber did a good job when he came .

We have a couple of properties under Choice Warranty. For the most part they've been pretty good. HOWEVER, this last claim was frustrating and I feel like I've been ripped. Reported a leak around the shower pipe. I was told it would be covered. The Tech came out and said it may just need to be tighten. He said he may need to get something from the hardware store, but he had to wait for their approval. He charged me and said, once approved he'd come back. He didn't come back, so the next day, I called the Tech's company and was told, my claim was DENIED and they didn't know why. I called Choice was told that the Tech reported, the shower head and faucet needed to be REPLACED, because they were leaking. He didn't tell, me that the day before. He couldn't tell me... Im looking at the faucet, it isn't leaking...it's the pipe above. I tried to explain that to the, Choice rep and so-called manager. They were trying to tell me what I saw! Stated they don't replace those items. I asked them to send out another Tech to verify what, I was saying, they wouldn't. I was told, I could get a second opinion if, I paid out of pocket for it. I already PAID out of pocket.. for the policy and that deductable. I asked for her supervisor, she said there wasn't one, she was it. However, she could send an email the owner, who had 72 hours to reply. She told me I was listening... basically, because I wouldn't expecting their hogwashed excuses. LOL...I said they didn't have any business integrity or professionalism, because they wouldn't even come see what I was talking about OR explain in person what their Tech reported. Wouldn't tell, me where in the contract it states that, that particular leak ISNT covered. They didn't want to resolve the matter. Im their PAID client, who is totally not satisfied, and unhappy with their service. Sorry,I made referrals and can't terminate. Id return to Fidelity.

I was with American Home shield for years and only changed to Choice because AHS was so hard to get ahold of. I had a couple of items with AHS that needed replacing and they actually REPLACED it. I need a new Refrigerator now with Choice because they said its too costly to repair but they only offer HALF of the cost of a new one so NO they do not REPLACE your item. Beware
