I have had two claims.The first was for my washing machine and after three weeks a technician is finally coming out this afternoon.The second was for our air conditioner and instead of waiting a week in extreme heat we called a local company who came right out the same day,again we alerted Choice,cancelled the appt they set up and then even after that they set another up which I had to cancel.So I am not too happy with them now.

Like a roll of the dice.....some of the repair people they use are terrible leading to numerous bad reviews on our real estate company's website. Choice is our companies recommended warranty only because the district manager is now Christy S. Recently we had clients with terrible experiences with some of the Choice's repair firm and I had to waste my time becoming involved with other Choice handling the issues.

All went very well except the timing of the actual appointment to fix the ac unit. Choice set an appointment time but as the time of the appointment was near (2days later) the vendor called me to set the actual appointment. This was a little disappointing, however when the tech did arrive he did a great job. Very happy with the final results.

This is the second time we had to call them. Our first request was denied and I was out of pocket the service call fee. Was NOT happy. When this ticket was created on Wednesday CHW did not scheduled it until Friday morning. Then when you did it was with a technician that does not even service our area. I had to call them who then called CHW (of course they have a number but we didn't) to reschedule it. Our AC was out until Monday because of the delay.

Have used CHW 5 times this spring and until recently received very good service. The last new claim needed to be followed up on multiple times to get the necessary approval and paperwork to the technician - which was a problem because it was an electrical issue.

Had my furnace quit and tried calling the number given me when I first joined and all I got was advertisements for more insurance, after about 10 minutes of that got told that they were no longer taking calls and to go to the website, t finally got that figured out and tried to log in and got a message the policy number was wrong and they would send the number via email. I am not very good with technology and it took another day to find the email in the spam folder. Going back, the first day that I couldn’t talk with anyone from your office, I called the local heat and air man and he checked it out and found the control panel burned out so I had him replace it as i needed the furnace (33 degrees the next morning). 5 days of messing around I finally got to talk with someone from your office That I could hardly understand then we got disconnected before anything was resolved. Overall, I am not a happy camper

I worry about some of the contractors sent out. Last December you sent out a nut that said everything was fine with my a/c unit (in a rental house I was away for holiday) but I just need a bigger unit. That unit had worked just fine for 25 years. I hired a local contractor who came and fixed the crossover ducts. When I told you that, I was told the ducts were rusted. Again my contractor said they are plastic. You eventually paid me 1/2 of the bill, but really!

Just called based on a best rating and signed up for 1 property. when the sales person found out that there are other properties he was trying to offer for all properties at a discounted rate. I do respect the trying but it got irritating to the point that is said. option 1, we do one property and see from there or, option 2, we just cancel everything right now and call another company. sales gentleman did not like that and that was very noticeable. Truly disappointing

I bought this condo with a 5 year Choice Home Warranty on it. My washing machine was going to be more expensive to repair than replace per the technician so he recommended replacement. I was offered $299.99 to help purchase a new washer. My old machine was a GE 3.8 capacity, stainless steel drum, high efficiency washer. You can't even begin to touch the cost of a new one for $300. I thought that Choice was supposed to get you something similar to what you had. They did come up to $400 and I had to pay the rest myself along with the service call fee.

Quick to respond with a work order confirmation...then the wait begins. Right now I am waiting on an air conditioner repair. 2 trips, 2 techs, problem diagnosed, waiting for Choice to order part so tech can make repair. I don't think Choice has any idea what its like to live in South Texas. This week outside temps are in the high 90"s, which is normal, but our air conditioner is shutdown. Waiting....waiting... on Choice to do their thing!!!! Choice needs to make some policy changes here!!! your repair techs should be able to go straight to supply house get the needed part and get the repair done in a timely manner. Really doesn't take a lot of brain power to sort that out! Plus it saves house calls and I don't have to keep setting aside time to be home waiting for the repair guy. But this isn't our first rodeo with this company! When we purchased this house we bought extra coverage for a water softener, when the softener failed, which had been working fine when we purchased the house, Choice refused to cover needed repair/replacement because the issue occurred too close to purchase date of our home and they said the unit wasn't maintained properly. Then the next issue was the dishwasher, took Choice more that 3 months to resolve that problem. So, no I am not a big fan of Choice, but we are covered until August 2020. Meanwhile I am doing my homework before I buy another home warranty policy. I might add when the garbage disposal developed an issue and was leaking I filed a claim and the same day a repair tech arrived with a replacement, installed it and was finished and back out the door in 20 minutes. That's amazing service!!

Was pleasantly surprised that my claim was approved without any pushback from CHW. The technician was dispatched in a day and after my claim was approved, the technician showed up within 2 hours and fixed my issue. And all of this was done through the website and I did not speak to a single person at CHW.

Currently debating if we want to sign up for another year. Though Choice Home Warranty has been quick to send out HVAC companies to address our problem, the problem continues not to be fixed (of recent). Same problem continues. Fourth claim just submitted today. And we keep having to pay $65 per service call even though the same problem continues not to be fixed.

When the repair is covered Choice works well. But I recently called for two bathroom repairs and neither was covered; I still had to pay the $45 visit charge. Another time I dealt with a plumber and he wasn't very reliable. I'm happy to have a company like Choice though it doesn't always work out for the best.

Claim process was very difficult. CHW auto generated an appointment for the tech on a holiday (while company was closed). We waited for 5 hours at home and no one showed up or called. This ruined our family time since we were waiting around. When contacting CHW the next day, the rep hung up on me as soon as they gathered my information. Other than that I would have gave 5 stars.

Last 2 calls in less than two month on my A/C. Choice sent two different compaines out. Had to pay my co pay twice for the same problem that has yet to be fixed. A/C compaines said they would contact CHOICE and tell them the coil needed to be replaced due to leaks in the coil. Told me CHOICE WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH ME. Have not heard anything from CHOICE about repairing my A/C

It will be good if something major, but I had a dripping showerhead and outside water Faucet that needs repair but you don’t cover any of that in which is frustrating. As well , the AC guy was great but he said if I had a major issue you guys would give the cheapest parts for example my AC? He said they won’t give the parts needed for MY system. Why would you do that ?

I like the security of being covered in the event of a system breakdown or failure. However, I just had a dishwasher breakdown with repair not an option. A new dishwasher of comparable features cost between $550 and $800. Choice offered $179.99. I was able to negotiate that up to $259.99. However the check won’t be issued for 30 days. So I am out of pocket all the expense and have to wait for the less than half relief. Not what I expected!

I,ve been with choice for over 12 yrs and only about 2 or 3 times they took care of my problem without giving me crap. it seems like everytime they look for reasons NOT to honor my request! i have 2 fans in my great room and when they went out I was told only 1 could be repaired! after being on the phone for some time and having the tech talk to them would they fix the problem. when my air went out I had a problem getting it taken care of because the tech told me they dont like dealing with them because they dont like to pay them. just recently my roof was leaking and I was told because it was my skylight it would not be covered. Im paid till Nov but will no longer deal with this company after that! I want to feel secure and confident my home warranty Co. will provide the sec I need without having to fight for what I pay for.

Very disappointed. I was misled by the company from the get go—I was told the diagnosis visits would be $65 (because I prepaid for 6 years) and then was charged $85 for each of my two claims. The representative, Marc, who sold me the warranty sent me the email with the details only after I had paid on the phone. This wouldn’t be a huge deal except that when I placed a claim for my AC, it was denied with no specific reason given. Prior to the denial, two different techs from different companies actually assessed the AC unit because of further miscommunication from CHOICE. I called customer service to inquire about the denial. Walter, the agent, had no answers for me and stated he wasn’t exactly sure why my claim had been denied. He stated a case manager would be assigned to my claim to investigate further. I have yet to be able to get in contact with with this case manager. I paid for 6 years in advanced, but yet CHOICE don’t want to fix my AC unit (which is still under warranty because my house is just a little over 1 year old). I would not recommend this company. I regret not staying with my previous company from my previous home.

The company responds quickly and the monthly cost is low. When something needs to be replaced, the amount that is given is not enough to replace a new piece of equipment for another new piece of equipment while what is covers at least half of what is needed.

The customer service was great getting me to sign up. I went with this company before and had a problem with my tub. The service technician came out, cut a hole in my basement ceiling, told me my warranty doesn’t cover the issue and told me it’s not his job to repair the hole. I called another time because my dishwasher wasn’t working. They came out twice and it was never repaired. I cancelled and decided to try them again 4 years later. Hoping it will be different. I emailed them twice about my garbage disposal working since they aren’t taking claims calls and days later.... no one has contacted me back. I’m going to search for another company. As a homeowner I want to keep my home in good shape. Paying for a service and not getting the service doesn’t add up.

Well, we have been doing some research on a HOME warranty after spending 6 hrs over 2 days to replace a kitchen faucet. And the WIFE indeed up doing it. ! The gentleman was VERY nice, informative and patient as my husband and I asked questions . SO ask us again in a year ! But SO far SO GOOD for the price and product.

Up until now CHW has been very reliable and willing to cover my claims. This last time they called upon an " Act of God" clause in the contract to deny the repair of my heating system as it was due to a burnt out circuit board probably caused by a power surge resulting from extreme weather conditions we have had and loss of electricity for 5 days during the coldest temperatures we have ever had in Texas . I am truly disappointed for the first time in 5 years of my relationship with CHW.

8 days ago our refridgerator went out and I submitted a claim. It took 4 days to get a technician to our house. The technician was from Sears and was super great and informative. After troubleshooting, it was determined that the fridge was not fixable and we were going to given a reimbursement option. As I went online to accept that offer, the offer was only $599. That particular fridge used sells for more than that, so to get a new one it was over $1000. On top of that, the check has to be mailed and that could take up to 30 days. Luckily, we had the money, but I am sure most people do not have the extra money to spend on a new appliance. For being a Choice customer for 5 years, I would have expected a better outcome. It is disappointing when we think of all of the money we have spent over the years and this was our first claim with them.
