As we get older, we need to get help with our home maintenance and repairs. Choice seems to fit our needs and from filing a claim to the completion of the repairs is on the spot. The only thing that I have noticed is on the website the actual repair status is usually not accurate. That is the only thing that in my opinion needs to be corrected.

Many good household contractors do not want to work with any Home warranty companies because of the approval and reimbursement process. CHW needs to get better service contracts in place in order to help facilitate the reimbursement process with contractors It is not helpful when you do not have a working Kitchen sink and CHW requires up to 2 weeks for a technician/plumber to pick-up the work order request, before moving on to finding my own and requesting reimbursement.

Dislike; Contractor if they had to order parts and had to return on a 2nd call was replaced with a 2nd contractor without consulting us, the homeowner. Not fair to the contractor whose first visit (2 hrs) and 2nd visit (3 hrs) trouble shooting and not fair to us trying to develop a working relationship. 2nd contractor know what was tried knew the only other solution, and part was not available. He called CHW and we are going to receive a check for $343. New washer was $805. So the $45 dollar fee was expensive for us the customer.

I was offended that the follow-up call came while I was still navigating the website. I'm accustomed to such a call coming the next business day. It felt very high-pressure. I wonder why AMAC would partner with a firm that uses such tactics. I gave in to the offer because of its rock-solid guarantees, being partially worn-down, and having a nationwide all-star legal team behind me. Even if it's a better warranty than my current one, I should cancel just to teach the sales rep a lesson. And they even called this morning-I let the call go. (I thought this follow-up came from AMAC)

I really liked Choice Home Warranty since we got them back in May of 2021… never had an issue, they even replaced our HVAC unit, we had to pay some but it was definitely a lot better than paying for all of it. So the reason I gave 2 stars… recently we had another issue with our HVAC unit that was replaced less than a year ago. CHW set up a contractor to come out and the day they were to come they cancelled the appointment. So CHW said they will find someone else. So we waited and waited and waited some more. After not have heat/AC for almost 3 weeks CHW finally said we could choose our own contractor and have him send them the work order and we had to send our receipt. I had the contractor here the very next day. He diagnosed and resolved with issue all in 2 day… nothing too major. Cost $290… CHW approved the WO and approved our receipt I think the very same day. So here’s where it just rough… we have been waiting for our reimbursement for almost 3 months. I was assured it would be sent to us by 4/5/2024 and it wasn’t. When I contacted them they told me they would send it to billing to allow an ADDITIONAL 30 days. When I told them I don’t understand why we have to wait 30 more days they said they can’t “expedite” the payment. I do not consider this expediting when it was supposed to be sent by 4/5 and still hasn’t been sent. It’s not that much money but it’s money that I expected to get back minus the service charge and I just feel like customer service it not the greatest when it comes to dealing with issues.

They don’t complete the work Just patch it up to work for awhile. There were 2 claims they did t have technicians for My well and my heating system but I paid for these services So had to get someone else and they wouldn’t reimburse me for the outside technician I used….this was during a cold spell below zero and I needed heat and water.

The initial time to find a technician to replace the hot water heater was way too long especially when the technician who did the job was local. In all it took 12 days from the time of the claim. Overall, the CHOICE people who took my calls were very cordial and said they were going to expedite the matter. The technician hired was very good.

We changed to Choice as the response to our requests for service was promoted as within 2 days. We have made a couple of calls for plumbing needs and the best service we have received as been 4 days. We had one company come out; reported a part was needed and said it would be 3 to 5 business days. We call after not hearing anything for over 10 days and get the information that the part is back-ordered. Why couldn't they communicate that to us. Thankfully it is not something critical we need. bottom line, service has not been that good

I specifically chose to go with CHOICE HOME WARRANTY because I recently purchased my home and wanted reassurance that I wouldn’t run into unexpected issues and expenses. I spoke at great length with your representative and based upon those conversations that this was the right company. I made a claim because the hvac was making loud noises and the thermostat didn’t seem to give accurate readings. I was pleased that the contractor checked it out and assured me there was nothing to be concerned about. I then made a claim because my bathtub faucets don’t put out much water and the master tub faucet doesn’t work properly. The plumber was pleasant and very professional. He explained that the master tub faucet needed to be replaced or could possibly be repaired if he could locate the necessary parts. I then received an email refusing to fix it. I’m almost 71 years old and live on social security alone. I specifically took out the warranty program because I knew I couldn’t afford to make future repairs and I could roll the cost of my warranty into my financing. I’m very very disappointed and frustrated. I can only use one of my bathtubs and so I have to use the guest bathroom, which takes a great deal of time to fill the tub to a usable amount of water. As I only moved into the unit in January, I only starting to discover these issues. If I can’t get the things repaired that I need, then why should I continue to carry the warranty? Respectfully

I have generally been happy with CHW in my previous home. But the most recent experience has been awful. The repairman they sent was ok to repair my covered AC unit only under the condition that I would also replace the entire AC unit with them at a cost that was more than twice what I could get from other vendors. CHW did support the claim but under the same conditions. This is full blown extortion. I refused and went with my contractor that replaced the complete AC for the same price as CHW contractor was going to replace just the unit.... I will cancel my subscription and change to another company. Follow up customer service was awful and not amenable to anything.

Claims process has been fairly straightforward. Most of repair expenses have been covered for our claims, but we did have a bad experience with one contractor who took the service fee to diagnose the issue and never returned to complete the repair, and we had to find a local vendor to complete the repairs.

I had a GARAGE DOOR that needed repair. When I called on Sunday all I got was a claim #. I needed to get my door closed for the night, so I called Precision, they came and closed it,I had to sign a contract with them. Well when I called CHW on Monday, they would not do anything about me stuck with Precision. Well I finally spoke to a Manager, he offered to send me $250 because my complaint is based on the ad states open 7 days a week 24/7. But no one was there to speak with on Sunday! Now a month I have not received the $250, they speak but no follow thru. Hopefully I have nothing that breaks on a weekend. Now I know they are there only Monday thru Friday until 8 pm eastern time.

When I described the problem with my outdoor motion detector on the second floor eves of my home the customer service rep told me it was covered. I asked her specifically about my plan's coverage for that item before she sent the order out. After the technicians get to my home demanding the $85.00 co payment up front as soon as they stepped out of the truck before they even looked at the job. Then they come back (after being paid) to tell me that the claim was denied/rejected by Choice over the phone.

I would give their salesmen 5 stars for misrepresenting the extent of their coverage and 5 stars for pressuring this senior into purchasing. I would also give 5 stars for the prompt response of the service techs to schedule an appointment. As far as my satisfaction with the company and the warranty, I give CHW one star. I first made a claim on my heater as the fan never would stop blowing even if I had the system powered off. Their tech added coolant, as that was the only thing he could find wrong with my system that would actually be covered. Next, I made a claim on my oven/range because the bracket that holds the control panel in place broke. The service tech came out, told me what parts were required to fix it, and called it in to get approval to order the parts. CHW denied the claim even though my warranty says, "ALL PARTS AND COMPONENTS ARE COVERED" I filed a complaint with the president of the company and with the BBB. Four days later, I was told that "as a courtesy" they would go ahead and repair it for me. The first tech had given me the part numbers in case I needed to order them on my own, but none of the next three service people who came out knew that it had already been diagnosed. It was a complete waste of time and loss of money (they have an 8-hour window in which they could arrive, so I missed 2 days of work). By the time someone actually ordered the parts and came back to install them, I had been without an oven or range for almost a month.

Had problems with my LG refrigerator. They came out and replaced the control board, fan panel, thermostat, ordered a UI control board. Finally the refrigerator stopped cooling and they said it was not repairable. Was disappointed on the amount they offered to replace my fridge. They should let customers know that they pro rate the replacement.

I made my first claim on my washer on 2/11 at that time the washer would not come on and run. Sears came out and determined it needed a new control board. HE got the washer to work so i could use it and it did Came back in one week and replaced the motor board, then noticed it was dripping in the tub so he found a water valve and replace that I then washed one load of clothes and on the second load it stopped on drain and would not do anything else!!! I sent in another claim. Then starr appliance came out (who i will never use again!!!) he determined it was a drain motor and sent in the info to choice. I did not hear back from choice or starr i finally called starr and they said oh they are going to fix it but the drain motor is on back order and we have no idea when it will come in but it may arrive next wednesday 3/1 and then it will take a week for us to get it. i am now going on 1 month without a washer!!!! I called on 3/1 and no motor yet, maybe next week. They will call and let me know!! They have to date still not called me back! I asked why we are fixing it their reply was it is still viable! HOW IS IT VIABLE WHEN YOU CAN"T GET A PART TO FIX IT???????????????????????? To say the least i am very upset and dissappointed with this response from the appliance repair and from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is now 3/23 and i have STILL HEARD NOTHING from starr applliance. So I had no choice but to buy a new washer myself. How long is a customer supposed to wait for a part? I understand there is a shortage and things take longer to get now BUT the washer is not workable when it can't be fixed This is the 3rd time i have written this response to you people and apparently you dont really care because I have gotten no response from you either!!!!! And you really need to replace the amazing button because this has been anything but an amazing experience!!!!
