We had a problem with our HVAC System. AHS contacted a service representative in our area. He was very efficient and knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He diagnosed the problem and within 24 hours AHS had authorized the repair of all the issues. This was the first time having a home warranty and would highly recommend AHS to anyone considering purchasing a home warranty.

Based on an experience from this past weekend, I am giving you a 4-star rating and here is why. When I contacted AHS on Saturday (weekend) concerning my dryer, that was supposed to be fixed a few days before, but was not, deep down I expected the repair to happen right same or next day. Today is Monday, and after even 2 days, I have not yet heard anything about my appointment. I am sitting here and thinking, how can AHS be in my world when I call in for a messed up dryer? Some issues cannot wait for days. This is an open question and I want to share because maybe AHS can relook into this service aspect from the customer's world/view and make some critical repairs be done even during a weekend. Thanks for reading this point and I am sending this with great appreciation and sense of curiosity and making a bigger difference in the world.

Our HVAC Unit had a problem with the heat & would not shut off. I called AHS and they promptly relayed my service order to Burleson Services, Inc., with whom they had contracted for our area of Florida. They scheduled an appointment with us within a couple of days. Mike, the technician who showed up was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He promptly diagnosed the issue and replaced the broken part, all within one hour. The unit is working perfectly. Very pleased with AHS.

I was very pleased with the service from AHS. The two contractors I needed to have come in contacted me in less than 48 hours, and both had come and performed their services within another 48 hours. Very prompt, and both were very courteous. The contractor I had come in to perform the repairs on the HVAC will need to return to charge the AC system once the weather warms up. He left me a business card so I'll need to contact them when things warm up.

I have been an American Home Shield customer for 16+ years. They have covered me on 2 homes, and the peace of mind I have comes from the timely service, rain or shine (sometimes snow), of their contracted service technicians. The repair/replacement coverage has been very generous, too. I’ve had appliances repaired and replaced, a central heat/air conditioner replaced, and several service calls for electrical and plumbing. AHS is a reliable friend to homeowners, especially those who have little skill or time to devote to home repairs.

I never expected to have to use the insurance so soon. Discovered the water heater had a large split down the back. It was a painless experience. The only issue was getting a plumber quickly. AHS was quick to resolve that by locating another plumber that was able to get us service sooner. I definitely would recommend AHS to any new home owner. This is our first experience with AHS.

When I purchased my new home (condo), it came with a 2 year home warranty. Once the 2 year warranty expired, I needed a Home Warranty that would fit my budget. The one that came with my home purchase was too expensive for my budget. AHS was the best option for me. My parents have AHS and love it. When I turned on the heat (this year 2020), my furnace started blowing out cool air instead of heat. I called to have it checked out and serviced. The service guy informed me of a leak and the part would need to be replaced. I was informed of the cost for the repairs. Once the replacement part was paid for and was picked up, the Heating & air company used by AHS, came to make the repairs. The service guy, who came to fixed the repairs, ended up welding the areas of leakage; which means the replacement part was never used. Other than that, I am glad it was able to be fixed so i could have heat for the winter days ahead. Prayerfully, this repair will last for a while. If I didn't have AHS, the cost would have been much higher.

It's been a little hit-and-miss so far. I have placed 2 service requests. Both were filled relatively quickly. However the first - a home heating tune-up - was pretty badly managed. We never heard that the technician was being scheduled - so he in fact showed up completely unannounced. Hours later we got an email telling us he'd be there that morning. Well...he was! We just didn't expect him and were totally unprepared. So was he. We didn't get the tune-up checklist until that hours-later email, so we couldn't evaluate whether or not he did the things on the checklist (largely, he didn't). Overall, not a great experience. A customer service rep for AHS reached out to ask how it went. So I told him. But after telling us "hey we will fix this..." we haven't heard anything in about a week. Second experience was a little better. Had a plumber come out to check a few things. We were informed they were coming, we were ready this time. They did in fact check the things we noted, and gave us some good advice. Much smoother experience - worked basically as we would have expected it to. Hopefully that first situation was an anomaly. Let's see what the next service call brings...

I have had this policy for about 14 months. A few issues have come up with my pool equipment, and every time they have sent a technician out to either repair the problem or replace the equipment. I haven't had any issues with them and I am so happy. Several people told me home warranties were a waste of money, but as a single mom, I was afraid not to have one. I am thankful for the great customer service at American Home Shield and the contractors they use.

Have American Home Shield the last four years has saved us a tremendous amount of money. We actually didn't have to use it for the first two and last year we only had to use it once. But this year we have been pretty unlucky when it comes to appliances fritzing out and we would be royally screwed if we didn't have AHS helping us. My only complaint is their policy regarding switching contractors during work. I do understand why but it is also unfair to the customer to have to deal with unprofessional contractors trying to repair something, especially when having to deal with them for 3+ months. I would they would reconsider changing their minds on this and possibly doing a better job researching contractors to partner with (the one that we had a bad experience with is rated horribly online and a ton of people had the same issues with this contractor that we were having). Otherwise, highly recommend using AHS to protect appliances in your household!

He was very thorough. Fixed the issue -- ordered a part that had to be delivered, and came back the following week to install. Again, always notifying us when he was en route.

They were really quick to respond to my plumbing problem in our shower/tub. The technician (JR) responded to the plumbing problem that we had. He was very friendly and professional. Once I explained the problem we had he got right to work and fixed the plumbing issue within about 30 minutes. He explained what the problem was and left. He was very polite and professional. The response time is usually next day (we never had a real emergency like a broken water pipe or no heat in winter), but judging by their conscientiousness I believe they would come same-day. They send out another contractor if the job was not fixed the first time, or if it recurs.

It was quick and easy to put in an order for someone to come look at my refrigerator. I just filled out the info online and made my payment. AHS communicated with me promptly and set up an appointment with someone local who also communicated with me promptly. The person who came to work on my fridge was professional and trustworthy, and was also mindful of COVID protocols. This was my first experience using AHS to solve an appliance issue, and it was an easy and positive experience.

I have used AHS for years. Infact, I had an electrical problem on Thursday evening, I reported it, was assigned the company and on Friday morning I was called to set up my appointment. I like the fact that you can request service 24 hrs a day. I have always had the servicing company contact me the next day. Very efficient and the companies that AHS contracts with have always given me great service.

So far I've been really happy with repairs that have been needed. My ac unit has been replaced, spa heater repaired and a pool pump repkaced. Only concern I've had is the repair man they sent the first time on the spa and heater had made false statement on needed repairs requiring another pool repair person to come out and make the repairs. I have no say on who comes out when you first file a claim. In the long run its costing the home warranty company more money by still using the first repair person. Happy with the home warranty and will renew it.

As a former RE broker have used in homes sold & my own recently . Most of my experiences are positive . I’ve had expensive ac repair ( but paid 500$ for freon) , House re-keyed, & new disposal. I paid for my refrigerator repair myself 150$ as I couldn’t wait for four days for repair. I would prefer the ability to choose my own service person from a list if provided . One company I cancelled out of town ( phoenix) had bad reviews on Yelp and was told they were “ run out of town” in tucson? Recently several phone calls to renew from numbers I don’t know and don’t usually answer . I answered recently and Josephine hung up on me after two word answer to her question? I’m also perplexed that it’s less expensive as a new customer than as a renewing customer? FYI calling can’t be a long wait to talk live sometimes not available at all live? Not favorable for older less computer savvy consumers ? Overall I’ve had Some help especially with my ac heat pump second time around. ( first repair just wanted to add freon at my expense and didn’t diagnose the reason for freon loss?) . In appealing to the phoenix home shield higher ups in phoenix they were able to help and remedy although time consuming . I’m happy I’ve had the shield this year and my daughter has it too.

American Home Shield makes repairs so easy. I called them with an AC problem. That day, I received a phone call from an AC&R company close to my home to set up an appointment for the next day. They gave me a 4-hour window when they would come. The repairman showed up in the allotted time, found the problem quickly, and had it repaired within 30 minutes. After a small deductible, Home Shield took care of payment, all I had to do was sign the work order. I am very happy with American Home Shield and the service they provide.

We have AHS policies for both of our households and have had since 2002. Overall, we are so thankful that we do. The hardest part of having the policies is waiting for service and communication from the service provider. Otherwise, we have no real complaints. Having AHS in place helps relieve the fear of malfunctions of our homes. That is especially important as we age.

I am NOT one to laud false praise, in fact, I’m generally the one to see issues and call them out, however, with AHS I cannot praise them highly enough! They have saved me thousands and they’ve made fixing issues so easy. I chose them after asking a friend who repairs appliances what comp y he’d recommend, and he immediately said AHS. They never argue a repair or replacement, and they make sure everything is done to my satisfaction. I would sing their praises to the world if I could!

Told me he would need to place a order for unit inside the coils is the problems but would have to go thru AMERICAN HOME SHIELD TO get it. We are so glad we purchased the policy. We live in Seattle and our home that has this policy is in North Las Vegas Nevada. We have used this 5 times since we purchased the house at the end of Feb 2020. Every business that has worked at our home has been willing to work directly with our renters once I have opened a case. I have had great feedback on each repair person. And in every case the repair was done same day or next day from opening a request. Can't live with out this policy if your home is in a different state!!!!

So far they are tops in some services such as major appliance repair and replacement. But not all local contractors are created equal. We recently hit a dead end when the assigned contractor could not complete the work and was not returning our calls. I called AHS to request a different contractor and was told that one was my only option. So in order to get the new thermostat installed, we cancelled the unresponsive contractor and paid out of pocket to buy our own thermostat and pay a local contractor to install it. This should have been handled by the AHS contractor but communication with them failed. We need closure so we had to eat the expense.

Recently the compressor was not working in my central air condition unit. I called AHS and an appointment schedule. Within two days my AC was repaired. Excellent service received, no problems with a replacement of the compressor. The repairman was on time, very courteous, and on time. AHS, in my opinion, is the best home warranty company certainly out rate my previous home warranty company.

From start to completion of the problem with my air conditioner the communication was very good from Home shield. They notified the local service company who reached out to me immediately. Luckily it was not a major issue. I'm not sure how much Home shield would have covered if I would have had to put new system in. I didn't bother to research that at the time.

American Shield has been very responsive to my requests for service and have resolved every claim with speed and professional contractors. My only complaint is I have been locked out of my account and have contacted AHS numerous times to reset my password and they have never responded. I can’t access my account online because it says my password is incorrect, I then use the 'Forgot your password’ feature to reset my password and receive no response. I’ve tried numerous times to reset it but AHS never responds with an email to reset it. I really need to access my account but at a loss why AHS never responds! That’s my only concern with AHS and my only negative with them,

I have been with American Home Shield for like 3 years and used it on several occasions. I haven't used it for about a year but noticed you had a notification a tech was on their way with a name as well. I wish that if there was a company I like that's in the American Home Shield family that the website would let me choose them. Or maybe a list of local companies in my area so maybe I could choose. My only complaint is the company that was picked to come out did not do residential calls on the weekend. Well my AC went out on Friday evening and only did weekend calls for businesses. The company did come out on first thing Tuesday and were professional.

After contacting American Home Shield about our problem, they acted quickly and had a Plumbing Company contact us for an appointment immediately. Most recently we had the disposal go out on us. Using the online request system, we were assigned a technician and then were able to get him scheduled within an hour. He came and resolved our issue within a short time after receiving approval for the replacement from AHS. While the technician was installing the disposal, he discovered another issue with our sink, which he was able to get approval to make those repairs as well.

So I called up American Sheild because I had a problem with my AC,the company they use was excellent they came out the same day and fix it. I recently purchased a home in which part of the sale was American Home Shield for one year. There was a problem with the tankless water heater so I called AHS. The rep that answered my call was courteous and efficient. Within minutes after the call, I had an appt. with a technician from a local company to come and service the water heater. So far so good! I would prefer not to have to pay a $75 service fee as I think it should be part of the AHS complete warranty package.

While the service has been good, I have really seen an improvement it the process to request service and the service provider delivering the service. I have used AHS 3-4 times this year, which is a little more than normal and the issue was resolved within a few days. Very happy with the quality of service I am getting from AHS.

AHS contacts me immediately after I contact them to set everything in place. Contractors come out, diagnosed problem, repaired if not replaced. I will continue to use this company as a home warranty. When my washer went out I was excited and a bit nervous about using my homeshield coverage for the first time. Would it be as easy as advertised or would it be a big hassle? I needn't have worried. I had to call AHS for a repair on our clothes washer and they were polite and eager to help. There were no hassles with getting someone to come out to fix the washer. The lady I talked to was eager to help and quickly responded. The company they called to help me sent a man who knew what he was doing who was also super nice. When the initial problem wasn't resolved (due to a more complicated problem that arose after the initial fix), AHS was, again, quick to respond with no extra cost.

I like the fact 98% of the issues I have had to call AHS for they've sent reliable informational service companies to my home. They have provided quality work, spoken to me so I can totally understand and given sound advice as to what to avoid in the future. I love the company because of their quick response to my issue, whether it's an emergency or minor. Provide us with contractor's that are thorough and professional. What I hope will change is the AHS rules on home items covered. For example: a garbage disposal is clogged or broken and can't be fixed. But because it is old or rusted it is not covered. That's disappointing...

Most experiences have been positive. This past service call has been a nightmare. We have now been over a week without a refrigerator. Service provider is completely incompetent and is now not returning calls. Provider says parts ordered, but then scheduled an appointment without ever talking with us "to do a second opinion since so many parts were ordered". If they are lacking that much confidence in their technician (totally plausible), then that warrants a call to us to discuss. Parts supposedly will be in on Monday (3 days from now) and they are supposed to be calling to set repair date. This will be the third time we have had to take time off work to repair one appliance. Not al all sure AHS will pay for the parts since they have the call labeled as "complete", but that is the contractor's problem, not mine. Time will tell.

We have had AHS for years and have used their services multiple times - for plumbers, electricians, A/C repairpeople, etc. The contractors/companies that they hire typically respond quickly, come to our place quickly, and solve the problem - or return again if they don't (or if the problem starts again). Also, the online service-request system is easy to use. We've always been happy with AHS and think it's well worth the monthly fee and the reasonable per-service charge.

Just before Christmas, our washing machine started making a horrible noise, so we contacted American Home Shield. They set up a service request in a timely manner. Once it was diagnosed that the washer would have to be replaced, they were very responsive and gave us several options for a replacement. Once we made a decision on the washer, they had it delivered and installed quickly. And this was during the holiday’s, so we were not expecting the speed at which it was handled. Very happy customers.

Our service tech arrived and assessed the problem, then replaced the faulty part of our clothes dryer. He was on time, did the job and was out of our home in a good amount of time. Unfortunately, something beyond his control was still causing a problem with the dryer and he came back to do more trouble shooting the next day and determined the problem, made temporary adjustments and advised how we could correct the problem (a clogged dryer vent). We are completely satisfied with the American Home Shield policy at this point.

Service is scheduled pretty easily; Providers they have are timely - i.e. they call you and schedule you and show up.... but the quality of work can be hit or miss - the pool repair folks are great but the refrigerator repair guy was awful!! He didn't know anything about repairing my frig and was taking cell phone pictures and then talking with someone to do repairs. He was very rough with my freezer drawers that had to come out so he could get to repair section. He just pulled it out and didn't remove the freezing martini glasses so he broke them, and they were in plane sight. However, you can tell American Home Shield to 'never' send that company to your house and they'll honor your request. That's a positive for their customer service.

We have used them several times and they have been responsive and very helpful in their dealings with me. There is only one company they work with that I will not use. The company United Air Temp. They came to our house when we were having trouble with our furnace and tried to make reasons to get a new furnace. We had another contractor come in who told us our furnace was okay and fixed it and it has been functioning fine for 5 years. Because of this I refuse to use United Air Temp again and I never will.

When a work order is requested, the follow up and contact with contractors is done in a timely manner and we’ve never had to call back and inquire about business assigned. When something needs fixing, it’s comforting to know that help is only a phone call away!!
