3 Sundays ago my well stopped working at 6:30 am. I called AHS and went through the phone menu. Within 3-4 minutes I had a work order number and name of the company scheduled to fix it on Monday. I called their emergency number. I got a call back and he arrived at 8:45. He fixed it by replacing the motor box and it was fixed by 9:45. Perfect

AHS definetly performs as advertised. When a covered item malfuctioned it was promptly repaired or in some cases replaced. In my two recent heat pump issues the system was repaired with four hours of placing a service order online. Choosing AHS fifteen years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made

I consider American Home Shield to be a superb company that does consider customer service a priority. The only reason it did not receive 5-stars is because they have raised rates over time. The contract does state they do not have to notify you of a rate increase - that, to me is not a 5-star company. Otherwise, very easy to work with and definitely pays attention when I need something.

I appreciate the way they were able to get a technician out quickly to repair my AC when it stopped working. However I was disappointed in the preseason furnace check, because the technician basically came in and turned it on and said yes it's working. He recommended a cleaning of the system but that was an additional charge. I feel like that maintenance should be included in the fee paid for the preseason check up.

I have had multiple emergency issues that the representative I would speak with would refuse to escalate to an emergency. Representatives also refuse to let me speak to a supervisor or manager. One issue mid winter nicor locked my gas due to gas line leaks was out of house for 2 weeks waiting for resolved issue due to non escalated work order. I have 4 kids. Issue number 2 furnace went out in middle of winter and took multiple weeks to get work order resolved, again 4 kids middle of winter no heat. 3rd eater leak into basement and because I can control leak based on shutting my whole house water off its not considered a emergency. But again 4 kids and cannot stay in house for what was a week with no water. All 3 things are considered to be an emergency for households. But representative took my deposit but would not escalate or let me speak to a manager.

Because I had an issue with a shoddy contractor and I let AHS know that my state has received multiple complaints, and BBB filings against this company, yet they still use them. It's happened more than once as well with a plumbing company, where my spouse and I just canceled the service call and just paid hundreds of dollars out of pocket for the issue to be fixed. And they used an inexperienced contractor to install my hot water heater and the contractor did not shut off the gas line, so we had to call our local utility company to pay out of pocket, yet again and yet they sent the same person from the same company again. Bad business, your company needs to research the contractors/companies that you use. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, I was told the contracted cannot be changed.

The customer service is not what it used to be they need to bring it back to the United States. Do to the customer service do not speak English wells and they do not understand what you really need. AND when they ask you your name they don't not say Mr or Mrs they fell like it ok to call you bay your frist name. I have worked in call center before and if someone ask you to transfer to someone else you had to .I ask to be transfer to someone that was in the state they did not so I call back and got someone that I could understand to find out what was going on with my wash. And it was been replaced. But customer service was saying that you were going to cash app me. And stead it was going to be replaced

I've been with AHS Now for about closely going on 10 years, and At First they showed too be an Very Promising Home Warranty Company, then as Time went by The Co-Pay started getting bigger Also the Monthly Payments as Well, Then Everything Went Too You Know What, It was Hard too get Contractor within 72 hrs or they didn't call You, You have to call them and It's still this way, 1.Example is that I had My Hot Water Heater Broke and the Contractor Charged Me $600.00 for some pipe work that He said that He Didn't Like and That's BULL because it was the same Pipe work that He put In, But A Different Style Of Way, And Too Top It Off I Just Had My Hot Water Heater Changed 8 Year's Ago, Now tell Me that Ain't Nothing, AHS was At least Supposed To Protect Me From CRIMINAL, When My Contract is Up In November, That's It For AHS!

for simple repairs they have done good job but I cannot get then to repair my jet tub they hired s plumber who told them it was the pump then they sent an electrician who told it was the pump now they want someone who works on jet rubsnto look at it but they have to be qualified and licensed. They dont have anyone in their list of contractors and they had me find one but wont take an invoice e mailed to them. They want to speak with him kn phone and he says he wont waste his time because he has dealt with warranty companies before and they just give him the run around so he refuses to call them but happy to send invoice with diagnosis ( the pump needs replaced ) but they wont accept that. It has been 3 months. They also replaced my furnace but wouldn't pay for " modifications" so my portion of the bill was equal to theirs plus I had a service call.

We choose to get a new washer because we had been without a washer for weeks and then we found out that the wrong part was ordered which made us have to wait longer and we really needed our washer. The workers were very polite and apologetic. We also had to wait for our dishwasher parts as long but we were able to maneuver around the dishwasher. Again the workers were apologetic. My appointment for service was between 1 and 4. They got there at 7;00 pm. I had waited all day for them to come! I got no call telling me there would be a delay until the technician called to tell me he was 25 minutes away! I was a little upset but I am grateful to have my dishwasher repaired but not happy about buying a new washer. I have been with American Home Shield for awhile and have used it very little. I really am not happy this time.

It takes so long to get someone on the phone, The companies you are referred to are not always customer service friendly and the wait time for the issue has been up to a week. Imagine being without heat for a week or with out air conditioning for a week! There is no consistency in the company referred so ( should have kept the card) the great service I received from a particular company.... I did not get from the next one. I asked for the same company that came out the last time, and the Home Shield call center person said they have no way of seeing who was sent out to my home previously. Very frustrating on both issues

I used AHS at my old address in Billings and 2 experiences were phenomenal. The contractors were fantastic and the process was easy. The 3rd experience was terrible. The locksmith didn't want to come out and said he no longer worked w/AHS b/c he wasn't getting paid. Working with online support took forever and in the end, after promising the locksmith would come out, he never did. So I had to deal with online support again to get a refund and they could barely understand me. I also got AHS for my new home in Stevensville and the experience while being here has been terrible. I did three service requests. One was fulfilled promptly and to my satisfaction but the other two have been cancelled(?) and I still haven't received a refund. And one of those requests shouldn't have been cancelled. Turns out the contractor they assigned for the boiler wasn't even licensed to do that kind of work here so I'm happy I cancelled that request. But so far, I am thinking about looking into a different home warranty program. Customer service is difficult to understand, communicate with, and it takes forever to get to a result.

It was easy to go online to report a problem with my A/C unit at night. I had a contractor contact me by email within about 15 minutes. I called the contractor at the supplied number and had an appointment fo 3 days later becaus i reported the problem on Thursday night and the appointment was the following Monday.

The first time I had to use there service I had a great experience. I was so happy that I started telling everyone about them. Then everything went wrong. This latest experience was very painful. The agents seem to not know what was going on and it was difficult to get a supervisor to talk to. There is no follow through with the contractor after they are assign to a customer. There is also no follow up with the customer. It took a year to get my water heater replace. I was unable to get in touch with the assign contractor and every time I contact AHS I was told that they could not reach the contractor either and then nothing. They would promise to call me with update but never did. I am currently researching other home warranty companies.

Because of the vendors they use and the fact that they dont have to do anything and still get your $100. Thats unacceptable in my book and really dont plan on re-newing because of this fact. They have a vendor come in to do work on plumming who claimed he had to go on top of our house, when in fact he didnt. We called AHS to explained that he didnt do anything and they sent someone else out who did the services without having to go on top of our house. This let us know the 1st company was trying to make more money off of us. If we had let them gone on top of our house to do the drainage it would have costed us over five hundred dollars. We are still charged stating even if the vendor comes out and look and do nothing we are still responsible for the $100. This let me know that AHS did not care and also is just after the money to have charged me for something simple not done!! I was charged and poor excuse given!

They replaced my AC unit but not the interior unit which is not compatible with the newer AC. They want me to pay the $3000 to have it replaced, even though its keeps freezing up since the outside AC was replaced. Its over 100 here in Texas and is supposed to be for atleast the next 2 weeks if not the entire summer. We have to shut the unit down several times a day to thaw out the A Coil. In doing so we also have to replace the filter everyday because it gets wet and the house during the day is usually 90 until about 6:00 in the evening from continuously shutting it off and the AC not able to cool it down before freezing. I am a disabled Veteran that was forced to retire from my Government job at the beginning of Covid in 2020 and can't afford to pay $3000 to replace it. I am living in my rv because its too hot to stay in the house and and going to sell it.

Well I'll start with customer service calls that are forwarded to India or where ever so your name is(AMERICAN) home shield how about when customers who need to talk to someone call oh i dont know maybe speak to a darn AMERICAN!!!!!! #2 my last service request was my sewage pump so the guy from k&s plumbing comes to my house and proceeds to try and RIP me off if you look at what he claimed was $850 out of pocket for me was a total of $38 plus i bought and install the sewage pump all these parts abs pvc pipe for $346. So i called and that's were #1 issue comes from because it's been almost 3 weeks and i still have not recieved a call from supervisor!!!!! #3 so im looking at my bank statements and i set y'all are now charging me $58.99 instead of the $49.99 that i agreed on not once but twice so that needs to be fixed my checking was shut down due to getting compromised so the accountwas not closed, changed or anything for the price to. Thanks

They sent us really really bad plumbing company. Luckily, based on the reviews, we disputed the diagnostic of the plumbers and asked AHS to send us different plumbers. Sure enough, the diagnosed the problem differently and solved it quickly-saving us and AHS time and money. Point is, AHS should not be working with the service providers that have bad reputation and reviews.

Customer service is wonderful however what the policy covers, such as plumbing basically only includes unstoppable a stoppage, however the toilet has to be removed to snake the system but the customer is responsible for removing and replacing the toilet to the tune of about $350. So in reality, it costs you $450 to unstoppable your plumbing. If it is faulty, it does not cover any repair. If they have to cut into your wall to reach plumbing, you are responsible dor the sheetrock repair. Not always worth it.

We have used AHS several times for tune-ups and repairs. The reservation process seems fairly easy and the vendors have been good so far. What we don't get is the underlying information about what AHS pays for a service if anything and how much I'm saving by using this service. Example: We had a toilet replaced and wanted to upgrade the toilet from the AHS approved. The vendor couldn't explain the amount AHS would pay towards the item vs our upcharge. It should be clearer what savings we get from paying a monthly fee.

Use contractors who are not upfront about how they will move forward with the job. One company left me a receipt detailing what needed to be ordered to come back and do the work. Then I find out through AHS the work won't be conducted. Another issue is AHS close out service requests without being knowledgeable if the service was actually completed. One company probably would've never returned to complete the work if I didn't monitor AHS. I went without a bathroom sink faucet for months"company came, saw the problem, and had to order the part. That took two week, when they came back it was the wrong part. They had to order another part. When I went to AHS the service request was listed as completed. If I would've never contacted AHS I am sure that company would've never come back to actually complete the work.

Having AHS has been a game changer for me as I'm single home owner and not good at fixing anything having AHS to call when things break down is a blessing. There always on time and the people that come to service your home is great. The best part is that if HD can't fix it they will replace it with great replacements.

Very easy to get repairs scheduled. The only reason it isn't a 5 is the amount of emails, phone calls and letters in the mail is excessive. I know I have them I don't need to be reminded every day with multiple emails and letters in the mail.

Service has been great! However, I only give four stars Because of the monthly charge. I've been a loyal subscriber for over 12 years. But evidently that does not mean anything to American home shield warranty. Since every year for the last five years they go up on the monthly price. I am at almost double of the monthly charge than when I originally joined. There are plenty other providers out there that I'm considering that will get me back to my original monthly charge.

The scheduling at American Home Shield was very helpful and the contractors that performed the services were excellent. However, I had an issue with my water heater that American Home Shield would not cover. AHS claimed it was not covered because the issue was pre-existing. However, I just purchased this home with the home warranty included and this "pre-existing" condition was not disclosed in any of my purchase documents. Therefore I would expect issues that arise to be covered by the warranty.

A competent contractor was contacted for my insurance work. They tried to fix my AC but couldn't do it. So a new you it was needed. This was quickly completed too. I did have to pay about 3k for permits and fees and stuff but still satisfied
