The response time is good, the repair people are professional and courteous, the work is generally good ( although I’m currently coping with a repair I that failed). I don’t think it is worth the cost because I’ve paid thousands of dollars for the warranty for the last decade but have never needed to replace anything major. The $75 service fee is nice for repairs and parts replaced but I’ve paid quadruple that amount in yearly payments.

Representatives speak from a location with a lot of background noise. Representatives deliver a standard speech/ response to questions that most of the times do not answer the question customer poses. Many representatives do not speak a good English and are hard to understand. When requesting the card number to place payment, not all representatives disclosed they would pause session recording for my safety.

So far things have been fine. I had no say in choosing AHS. I was in escrow when AHS bought out One Guard. One Guard covered Water softeners, AHS does not. One thing I don’t care for is when a service call is requested I have no say over what company is dispatched. I wish I was given a choice so that ai could vet that company. See what their overall ratings are

I'm very disappointed with AHS. Their insurance coverage is supposed to replace comparable value of appliances that have to be replaced. However, they nickel and dime you to the extent that you eventually have to settle for much less than actual replacement value. They are very typical of many insurance companies that wear you out about paying for fair market replacement value. If they continue to operate like this, they will end up losing customers. Additionally, they hire customer service representatives with very poor English-speaking skills. Consequently, it is very difficult to understand what the customer service individual is saying which is very frustrating, as well as it wastes a lot of time.

Take to long to get a live on the phone. I have two a/c condenser when I call for repair The The technician refuse to check the other one. He says you have to get authorization from american homeshield. Why can’t he check all units while he is here without charge? It is obviously a ploy to get more money out of the consumer. Bast HVAC was great. Jim, the technician explained the problem and fixed it. I also found the furnace has a small crack in the heat exchanger. He gave me a quote with a good price. He also explained home warranty will only replace the furnace with the cheapest one of the same size.

Our monthly payment has gone up more than $20/month in the last year, and that is after several years of going up a few dollars each year. We have been customers for many years, with AHS coverage on two houses for several of those years, and we have had minimal claims. We just paid $350 for 3 service calls this month: our kitchen sink was snaked, one running toilet fixed, one toilet adjusted, and an exhaust fan “looked at” but deemed “still working”. We had our fridge ice maker looked at on May 3rd, but are still waiting for you to ship the part to Able so they can install it. I am not really happy right now; considering we will pay nearly $900 in monthly amount this year and the $350 in service fees, that is a lot for the minimal fixes we received.

I've had AHS for 23 years. They've replaced a couple of hot water heaters and provided small repairs. But when my 30+ year AC needed to be replaced, all they'd do is continue to band-aid it...for months and months. Finally, due to chronic lung issues, I had to pay over $7,000 for a new unit and AHS only reimbursed me a couple of hundred. (Without a dependable AC unit, I'd likely end up being hospitalized. Lung patients don't fare well without AC in the heat of the summer in Texas.)

It’s a hit or miss. Sometimes, AHS is fast and other times they are slow. One time they denied wrongfully my service request. My refrigerator door rubber seal is broken and leaking air, and they said it’s not covered by the contract. I pointed out in the contract it covers all parts and components of a refrigerator. AHS said a rubber seal is not a part or a component (!?!?) the only choice left to use mediation but it would take too much time of mine.

Showed up half our past 5pm window first time, "repair" only made it worse to the point we can't even use it. 5 days of laundry backed up, then called at 5:15pm today to say he'll be here in 20 minutes. The warranty companies should rate the companies they sent out. A lot of these companies attempt tell you that you need a different repair and that the warranty company doesn't cover it and you have to pay out of pocket. I have been a loyal customer for many years and have encountered many different experiences. this happens quite often, leaving the consumer with no solutions.

So many problems. The contractors they use are not the best. If you have a problem with a contractor, good luck with getting your money back or with AHS listening to you. Be prepared to wait for appliances to be replaced. We waited almost 6 weeks for our hot water heater to be replaced. Don't expect customer service to know what's going on. While they are kind, if you have any kind of issue with the service, don't expect them to know how to help. You also may wait 2 hours on a phone call just to be hung up on. You also won't get call backs that are promised. Would highly suggest to stay away from AHS. They have caused more stress than they have helped fix problems in my home.

Good completion of air conditioning repair. Would have been nice to inform us of why they switched vendors after the initial company came out to assess the problem. They said it had to be replaced and new company 1 1/2 weeks later repaired it. We were without air conditioning for 11 days after initial visit and no communication until I called 5 days later,

American Home Shield has great customer service. The only problem is that they don’t have all the up to date information with companies. There is a case where I requested AC service and it looked like the AC person fixed the issue but something was not quite right. I tried getting in contact with the company and feel like I got ghosted. When I tried to reach out to American Home Shield they were not able to get a hold of the company either. They were only able to email the AC company. To this day I still do not have an answer back from the company that came to service my AC.

Over the many years I have I have had with this company, and it has been many times, we had one bad experiance and that will be hard to forget, and your company still owes me $264, after we paid for a bathroom heater, and the company lied and said we removed the old one, took it out, and we had the other company, that come down to investigate, we had them replace the heater and I paid them. Sent copy of the bill paid'. After many calls, and proofs, we have never seen a remimburset , nor could we get hold of a top executive. ALL THE EVIDENC E is still on hold. I still maintain this is a good company because they have been fair in the past many years, and they hired a bad company to deal with at this time. As a strong supporter in the past, and the money you pay managers, you have a bad one. We sent plenty of proof, and to day , we are still owed the money. Check your files. Inspite of all this , I still think this is a good company.

I loved the no hassle response. I was recently surprised when there was no haggling when my appliances needed to be replaced. I was give the option of comparably valued appliances or check or e-card. I chose the e-card because although the chosen AHS appliances were comparable, my choice brand was not included and I was able to get that brand with the e-card.

I enjoy working with American home shield because if they sent out a contractor to fix something and you do not agree with the diagnosis, they will send you a second opinion at no charge. This avoided me to pay over $1000 to a contractor that said I needed additional work, that was not covered by American home shield as it turns out the second opinion contractor fixed the job with no problem and no additional cost to me

It's absolutely worth it. I have filed claims for my furnace, my refrigerator, and most recently my AC unit. My claim for my furnace took some time to get approved. The contractor that got assigned by AHS never reached out to us. This was in the middle of winter. After a few weeks, I was approved to use a different contractor that I was allowed to pick. I chose a contractor with good online reviews. The contractor did a good job. AHS only paid for about half of the work done because it was a contractor that I picked. I disagree with that decision because AHN called me to let me know I was approved to pick a new contractor, since the one AHN assigned never called. They didn't say that the whole bill wouldn't be covered. A year later my refrigerator died. It took about 3 months to get it fixed. AHN did not cover any expenses towards my spoiled food. Not even a gift card to fast food to get dinner that night. nada. And the phone agent ended the phone call with "my pleasure" before hanging up. What kind of psychopath says that to someone who just lost hundreds of dollars worth in food?! Finally after several months, the mother board was replaced and the refrigerator working again. Most recently my AC died. This happened in the middle of record breaking high temperatures in Colorado. AHS sent a contractor that same day. The contractor fixed the unit on the same day which I find just wonderful. So with AHN it's hit or miss as to what agent you talk to. Some are rude and some are really cordial and quick to get your case assigned.

This time the service was good. The contractor contacted me as promised and promptly scheduled a service time. The problem was corrected. This is an improvement as the two times previous the service was awful, contractors never contracted me and I ultimately found another solution. If this had not been corrected, I would have stopped using AHS. Hopefully, the previous problems have been completely corrected and my most recent service is now representative. HOWEVER, I hate y our phone system and the fact that you do not want to actually talk to people. Shows a real lack of interest in customer service.

This experience was amazing. The appointment was easy to schedule, the technician actually came very quickly, was friendly, professional & fixed the problem easily (dryer). What I normally do not like is that most AHS technician's are not local and many times that acerbates the problem by slow service, which is not what I am paying for. This vendor was perfect, local, quick turnaround time and very professional, so keep him/them. I also do not like my rates going up and my service fee. There are far to many similar companies (your competitors) with excellent signing offers for me to put up with the upping of my fees, especially when I am a senior. If they go up again, I switch to another company.

American Home Shield did an outstanding job repairing out problem with our exhaust hood on our stove. I hadn't been able to use different function on our hood in months. Our repairman, quickly assessed the problem, ordered the parts and fixed the problem. Thank you American Home Shield. I could not have asked for a better outcome or a more skilled workman.

I American Home Shield is a great company for home warranty service. I have had them since I moved into my new home and 20 2012 they have consistently held up to the air policy promise when ever I have had the opportunity to use them it gives me great peace of mind to know that I can call them when a covered appliance needs attention, how do you recommend them to anyone looking for a great home warranty company.

I like that they make an honest effort in a timely manner to try to resolve whatever situation you have. Or replace the item with a like item or similar. What I don't like is some of the representatives I cannot understand them and they don't quite understand. Other than that I highly recommend American Home Shield the warrant is worth the money and they get the job done as quickly as possible. They make all honest efforts to try and resolve your problem as quickly as possible. And I can appreciate that. Thank you American Home Shield

I filled out a form online stating that I needed help with an air conditioning unit. It was a 90° weekend and I didn’t expect to get immediate response. However, I had an immediate response from American Home Shield who contacted the heating and air-conditioning company. Within an hour the heating and air-conditioning company called me back and set up an appointment for Monday morning bright and early. The problem was resolved quickly. I am one very happy customer.

I have two homes and have used AHS to cover both. They have been very helpful and it's good to know that if something major goes wrong that I will have coverage. That said, because the companies that they send to look at a problem have to go back to AHS to get approval, it can take several days to weeks for a repair or replacement to be made. On one occasion it took several months for the multiple companies sent out from AHS to even understand the simple problem of a bathroom exhaust fan that was old and needed to be replaced. Finally, the rates keep going up annually, but I have kept the coverage because of the age of some of the systems in my houses.

What I don't like is that the price has gone up over the last 20-30 years ...imagine that :-) What I do like is that AHS has been worth every penny for us. The service has been prompt - even when the contractors had issues with the fix on a couple occasions. The service calls were easy to make, the contractors were quickly dispatched and friendly and informative - and not ever condescending to a woman - which should be the norm, but often isn't.

I was happy to work with American Home Shield. They were fast with getting someone out to our home to fix the water heater. First time visit brought back the heater and some warm water. I say some because some warm water went bye-bye after three days. Company returned and replaced the "bad" part. I don't think the water is as hot as it should be but we'll see. Been pleased with American Home Shield and their fast responses.

Switched two of my condo units in the San Francisco Bay Area to AHS from another home warranty insurance company and so far very satisfied with the decision and should have done it much sooner. Online portal was easy to use and more importantly it's the timeliness response that I like the most when managing two rental properties. Happy to recommend AHS, keep up the good work.

The automated “hearing” needs some work; I had a little trouble communicating what I was calling for. Other than that, once I got through that part it was all smooth sailing! The appointment to repair my dryer was made in a timely manner, the technician was on time, and I (well, my wife) was back to drying laundry quickly, quietly and efficiently! The trade fee was easily handled, and the AHS coverage was just what we needed!
