Overall they are good but could definitely improve customer service on the call in features. Long, long, long wait times then you get to deal with a scripted foreign representative who is very courteous but unable to handle anything out of the script.

We had excellent service for our dishwasher repair company but awful service with the air conditioner company. We've been trying to get our air conditioner fixed for several weeks now. The first contractor made us wait 2 weeks then canceled for another two weeks so AHS got us another contractor who hasn't gotten back to us yet to schedule an appointment!

They always send a repairman out, but the quality of the repair company is always suspect. I had an issue with my heat pump a couple weeks ago and I had to call the same company for the forth time TODAY! I also understand that if it can’t be repaired due to lack of Freon then they will not replace the unit. I will have to pay for it. They will always do what they can to repair before replacing a unit.

Our most recent experience with AHS has been an unmitigated disaster. We originally reported a problem with our AC not cooling on 16 May. A technician responded promptly and serviced with Freon but did no further investigation. The AC again failed to perform at the next hot spell and we reported it on 25 May. The technician responded on 26 May and determined the air handler needed to be replaced. This is where things get squirrly. The service company said they submitted their report to AHS approvals Dept on 26 May. AHS customer service says it wasn’t received until 29 May. I know the web site and work order said approval in process of words to that effect on 27 May. The parts were finally ordered on 1 June with an estimated 5-7 day shipping time. On 9 Jun I called the contractor and left several voice mails. I also called AHS and after waiting on hold for nearly an hour got a customer service representative who was about as helpful as a rock. She was very friendly but all she could tell me was that the estimated delivery date at the service company was Monday 8 June. She said she had no way of knowing if the parts had arrived or where they were. I asked for the name of the shipping company and/or a tracking or PRO number. She said she couldn’t access that information but the service company had it all. It is now the evening of June 9. We have been limping along with a barely working AC afraid to cook indoors of food laundry for fear of adding heat in the house since May 25th and I can’t get a straight answer from AHS of their selected repair source as to when the problem will be fixed. Oh yea, in the call to AHS customer service today I was suddenly informed that herd were $800 in “hidden charges” that I would be responsible for. Needless to say I am disgusted with the whole operation. We have recommended AHS to several friends and relatives because our previous experiences have been trouble free. Whatever has happened within the company or the service center servicing our part of Virginia is truly disgusting.

Prohibitive cost. On a fixed income, it's very hard to make ends meet. I have to have a home warranty because I can't afford a new appliance. But the cost per month is the same as paying for new appliances by the month. Only...you are not going to find a place (with a fixed income) that will finance your purchase. So in stuck.

I'm generally pleased with American home shield, and that's why I've stayed with them for years. But in this most recent incident, I found their service lacking. I've been waiting over 2 weeks for them to send out a contractor to do the drywall repairs for the plumbing work that was on the initial trouble ticket. I've had to call them over five times, and now I have to resort to going to social media to get their attention. There should be no reason why a customer has to call more than once to get the entire issue resolved. It saves your staff time, and stays your customers aggravation.

For what I pay per month, I would expect a company coming to my home for a service call to be one that I would recognize. I have had people show up for a service call in their own cars or trucks unmarked. I have told them before when I called for service please don't send me anyone working out of their car with no company markings on the vehicles. I think they are contracting with the lowest bidder.

For Arizona, AHS does not work very fast when it comes to AC repairs. They aren't based in AZ and so we are treated as if we can simply go 4-6 days without AC when it breaks down. That doesn't work well when its 117 degrees outside. Also, my second year contract jumped 13.50 per month without an explanation, simply here's your new monthly fee and you can cancel at any time. Thanks a lot AHS.

At this time of Covid19 technicians to is tall the microwave came without mask or gloves. This happened on two diferente visits. I did not felt dafe when they came over. It was a risk for my family with all this crisis happen right now. Also I was charged 2 times for the $75 fee when I was told I was going to be charged only one time $75

Unsatisfied customer due to $150 increase from last year and other companies cover total refrigerant

I will refer you to people that can afford your new high premiums. I've Always have had excellent, fast service. unfortunately,you have forced me to discontinue my coverage with AHS , I cannot afford your policy increase of $150 higher than last years policy of which I made no claims.Sorry to loose you , but I cannot afford you anymore. I have found another company with service calls of $75 with refrigerant totally covered and all other items matched the same as AHS. Sorry, this was your choice .

I was able to change my contract to better suit my needs. Fortunately it was in the time period of my renewal but was not cancelled. I recommend that something be sent to clients annually to give them the option to assess their current contract to upgrade or even change to meet their needs.

Professional and rapid response. The assigned service company, Busy Bee Appliance, was oustanding. Arrive ahead of schedule and diagnosed issue with dryer and solved the issue in 20 minutes!! Awesome!!

Techs are great and very Efficient doing their job. Not happy with the company though because I decided to raise my deductible from $75 to 100 I didn't feel the need to discuss it with me poor judgment on the company's part especially with your faith for customers
