Main problem is follow up, very , very,poor, 1. you should have a name, number and email that needs to be supplied for each service call ( or confirm what you have on file) so you contaxct the correct people, I have many tenants in properties 2. Follow up, never see an invoice or Receipt when work is done 3. Buy outs or longer repairs or parts, etc , very poor to follow up and to explain options. 4. AC checks, are a joke the techs find items almost out of service that are not covered by Warranty ( "because the system runs") so it just costs more! you need to overhaul that entire system. ( you can save money in the long run in Las Vegas by just cleaning the coils inside and out with this service)

AHS has severely disappointed us by raising our rates for the same coverage, increased the call out service fee from $75 to $100. I spoke with 3 representatives who gave me 3 different prices of my annual renewal and one person I spoke to didn't even know if I'd have to pay the annual rate or was able to split them in monthly payments (as current) - in fact, she told me that I would have to pay the annual rate AND then monthly payments in addition. The representatives I spoke with were very unprofessional with thick accents and couldn't properly divide my annual premium into the monthly payments. After this experience, I am seeking quotes from other companies. I spent over one hour on the phone while at work attempting to retrieve an accurate renewal quote.

I was disappointed that my first service call was rescheduled by the vendor, then it took almost 2 more months for them to come out and make the repair. Though I am happy with the repair. Now I requested servicing for my AC system and it's been 2 weeks no one has called to schedule. The warranty is not helpful if it is this difficult to get the service when I need it.

I've been with AHS for over 10 years, never really needed them until now. Terrible customer service. They insisted on using TexAire Heating and Air Conditioning even after the contractor didn't call me for weeks after I paid for an advertised "preventative maintenance". I had to call and call and call AHS and the contractor. The contractor would never answer calls or texts. His voicemail was full and would never return calls. After weeks of fighting with everyone, the contractor finally scheduled something and didn't even bother to call, he emailed my appointment info. Thank goodness I checked my email...but wait, there's more! He canceled the morning of! Yes, of course he did. I took time off work to be home for this service call and he didn't even call me, I had to call him and ask him where he was at, his response was "oh well it's too cold for me to maintenance your AC". It was probably 55 degrees outside. Anyway, he rescheduled. Finally, he shows up, in a rental uhaul pickup truck, no business shirt, no business card, no invoice. He spent literally less than 5 minutes completing AHS's "in depth, 20 item" checklist. He was rushed, super unprofessional, and put zero effort into his entire inspection and maintenance check. What a waste of money. Then of course, the whole time...with a span of like 10 phone calls to AHS, their response was "we have no control over the contractors and how they do business" but yet they wouldn't let me cancel my request for the service after 3 weeks of waiting for this contractor to even call me. They said I would incur a cancellation fee! What?! Worst service ever. We complained and filled out surveys and the response is always "sorry, we have no control over our contractors..." Ummmm, yeah you do...you pay them right? Well I pay AHS to make sure they're sending me a professional, reputable, trustworthy contractor. Highly disappointed. Canceling them asap.

Every single time I have a service request with AHS is it a nightmare. The technicians come up with a laundry list of items that “must be done in order to complete the service” and are never covered under “any policy”. The Customer service department is rude, condescending and not helpful. They don’t have the answers and will not transfer to anyone who does. I once went over two years without an oven and I’m on my third day without AC because a technician took my motor to fix and is dodging my calls to bring it back. Last year when I renewed they charged me the monthly amount over 26 times in a row over the course of three days and locked my debit account for two whole weeks. They have no answers for why this happened and are non apologetic and do not to care at all. I have reached out to any department I can for help many times over the four years I have held and policy and even the sales department is candidly honest about how terrible the company, their policies and the customer service is. How embarrassing. I renewed because they gave me a slight discount but it honestly is not even worth it at this point. They make any issue big or small a complete and total miserable nightmare. I do not feel safe, covered or comfortable with AHS, I consistently feel like this I am involved in the biggest joke and scale of a warranty company ever.

American Home Shield hardly covers anything. Too many stipulations in the contract as to what is covered and what is not. They charge $100 for someone to come out, why am I paying American Home Shield monthly then? We recently had issues with our old AC unit. The contractor they sent out said American Home Shield would cover $3000 towards a new one if they installed it. We wanted to use a different contractor so that it would cost much less money for us out of pocket, but American Home Shield refused to to pay more than $230–yet they would cover $3000 if we used their contractor that they sent that wanted to charge us a lot of money??

He did not use booties to come into my house (made him take his shoes off) and he used foul language in my house! This was very disrespectful to me & I was shocked to hear the "F" bomb from him among other words! Never send this guy here again!!!!

Usually AHS is very responsive and gets things fixed at a decent time frame, exceptions of A/C problems in the future. Right now I’m having hot water heater issues and it’s been almost a month and I’m still waiting on AHS to contact me on what my options are. It’s a great home warranty to have, but I think on somethings it should be more customer friendly and not having to continue to call to check status’s of problems that need to be repaired

I would never recommend AHS to any of my friends or family! It's basically impossible to get anything replaced even when it's past it's prime and difficult to get the parts. I was having issues with my 17 year old AC. They assigned me with a company who I was absolutely thrilled with. He called me back witin 20 minutes of my filing on a Saturday night. He came the next morning, a Sunday, at 9:00 am. Of course the noise I was hearing the night before stopped. He waited for 2 hrs when it finally acted up and he knew immedialtey what the problem was and fixed it. He said my AC is old and you can no longer buy the freon it takes which I already knew from my neighbors. When I was having issues a few months later I wanted him to come back as he was now considered my AC person. I had had him come and do an annual service cleaning. I called and fought tooth and nail and was able to get him assigned to me. But then they offered some bogus 50% Off Upgrade your AC. When I tried to schedule it, first, the guy didn't even know what I was talking about. Finally he transsferred me to the AC department and they knew a little bit about it. I told them I wanted the AC person who had been here twice previously and they refused and said it wasn't possible. When I called my AC guy he didn't even know about the program which means they were only using specific ones and not giving every AC company an opportunity. They sent some AC company thats over 90 miles away from me. Some young girl showed up and I started explaining to her about the program and certain things that needed to be done since I live in a Condo and she said all she knew is she was to come and take pictures. No technician, no one that knew anything about AC's. Then I waited 4 weeks for any type of correspondence or estimate. When I finally did get it, it was just an email with a price. A price by the way that was almost double of the estimate I got from the AC guy who I wanted to use and had come out previously. So not only almost double the price, but no 50% off anywhere. In fact, no discount whatsoever!!! Total BS and a ripoff.

The request for service is not done in a timely manner. I paid the $75.00 to have my air conditioner looked at. The job was coded wrong, and my a/c is still not fixed. I have breathing problems and need the a/c as the weather is warming up. I've voiced my dissatisfaction to no avail. So now I have to pay another 75.00to have someone come out to look at it when it should have been fixed right in the 1st place. I've had this warranty every since I purchased my home 4years ago and it's not worth the money the seller paid for it and I continue to pay every month.

1. My refrigerator stopped making ice and dispensing water. 2. Ice was accumulated inside and outside of the refrigerator wall. 3. Refrigerator making different weird sounds Service contractor examined the refrigerator and found these issues cannot be repaired. As per the contract if issues are not repairable, new refrigerator will be provided. But the claim is denied and I was told these are cosmetic issues. To me these are direct functional issues!

Ice maker was replaced, broke a2 months later. Have to open a new ticket and pay $85. Still don't have a working ice maker. Shower spout replaced but not sealed to wall. Was told that is cosmetic. Leaving tickets for super urgent. Once settled in house will terminate service.

American Home Shield is not prompt in getting issues resolved. Especially when it has come to my washing machine. I have been without a washing machine for a month due to AHS sending 3 different companies to diagnose the issue. The last company has said they can resolve the issue, and it has now been 2 weeks since their diagnosis. I am beyond frustrated, and now I will be replacing my washing machine, due to the lack of urgency and attention to resolution. AHS has been very poor in the follow up for this issue,

AHS is way overpriced and their coverage has shrunk. So often what is wrong with an appliance isn’t covered. There was a substantial increase with this latest contract and I’m paying almost $80 per month, which is outrageous. The service techs are always nice and helpful and knowledgeable, but sometimes they don’t come very quickly.

I have been a customer for over 15 years, and had recommended your warranty to all my family and friends. Currently, I have a policy on my home and my father's home. However, over the last few years I have been displeased with your customer service. The outsourced customer service does not know how to effectively handle issues beyond what their script supports. Your company needs a tier structured customer service that can can assist with more complicated issues. I feel that your company is going to lose your long standing customers, because alot of us are displeased. Just read your reviews. Mel A

I was under the understanding that if I have an appliance that can't be repaired it would be replaced. at no cost to me. That is clearly not correct. I have a hot water heater that due to to wear and tear had to be replaced. There was a $520.00 fee that I needed to pay for the hot water heater to be replaced. I have been an AHS customer for many years. The first appliance that couldn't be repaired but had to be replaced. I was told only a partial of the replacement would be covered I had to pay $520.00. Not feeling like AHS owns up to what they advertise or sell. Not sure if I want to continue to be a customer. When I first became a customer it was $45.99 a month now it's $69.99 a month but still with the $100.00 service fee.

The price per month and per visit has increased by $30 I’m paying over $100 a month, without using your services. I have two accounts with you. One is my house on Farrar St. and the other is my son’s home (he is disabled). I have been with American Home Shield for a long time, but the price is caused me to look for another company.

So far everything has gone well. The replacement microwave is temporarily out of stock and it looks like it won't be available until May 1st and the shopping Email says it only good for 21 days which is about a week short.

Not finding that a lot of things are covered that have broken in my home over the time I’ve had AHS. I purchased the service for no big ticker shocks but on several times. Not covered is what I’ve gotten. When I compare what I’ve paid in monthly premiums and service calls, I don’t think I’m ahead or saving money. Will not be renewing this year and will just work on a home savings plan to handle the items I’m sure will come up with a 16 year old home.
