In the early years of having this service, I was much happier with the responses I got. I find it VERY frustrating that the only party I can talk with is clearly a contract customer service worker who has very little knowledge of the area where I live. Every time I have called in, within the last year, I have spoken with someone who has a foreign accent that is difficult to understand. This makes the process of resolving my concerns significantly harder. I wish I could get a number for the HOME office, wherever that is, so I could speak with someone who actually works directly for company whose services I have been paying for for over 15 years.

Our hot water heater started to leak and AHS sent a contractor to replace it. It appears the AHS uses the lowest price contractors for the work. The contractor charged me over $1000 above and beyond what AHS paid for the hot water heater for “code upgrades”. As an example the contractor charged $300+ for a required gasoline particle trap which consisted of $5 Worth of parts if purchased at Home Depot and installed in 15 minutes. It appears that AHS pays the contractor so little for labor that the contractor make’s up the difference by over charging for required code updates. I was also charged for parts that were re-used from the old water heater and not new

I was surprised that I began the 2022 year with a gas leak that caused my propane company to red tag three appliances in my house they were unable to determine which appliance was actually leaking. AHS has sent many contractors but I am now on my 3rd week waiting for heat and hot water in my house. It is very cold and I would expect that this company would see urgency to rule out the appliances that were not actually leaking and fix the one that is. I have a difficult time speaking with a live person. This was not my experience 6 years ago when I had this service. I only had one appliance needing repair andd it was done within the week on the service call. I am not sure I am entirely happy to have started this service again.

And December 30 my hot water heater went on the fritz. I called and spoke to someone within 20 minutes. They then gave me the company that I asked for and although it was the holiday I did have the hot water heater fixed by that Monday. I have been with American home shield for years, and they've always come through for me

I have been an AHS member for many years and utilized their contractors numerous times. My biggest problem is the service fee of $75. Everytime I have a service call, I am charged twice for the service fee. This must be fixed. For the most part contractors are competent, however I did have an experience of a very incompetent plumber. He was not a plumber. Send the pro's out first please.

I have a older house, and I experienced many water leaks, and HSA always was able to assist me. Sometimes, the companies that were contacted to check or fix my house issues weren't able to go sooner. Also, I pay for appliances coverage. One time, my LG washer quit working and after calling HSA, they sent a company that later on told me HSA didn't approve the repair.. To me, I doesn't make sense why I should pay for a service that HSA won't provide.

I'm writing to share my recent experience with a service call. My washer was leaking so I submitted a service request. The repair company came out on Oct 8th. He was unable to recreate the error and told me to call back when it occurred again. On November 13th the washer began leaking again. I phoned to have the appliance looked at and was informed it was outside the recall window. It is ridiculous that I am unable to have a recall completed for the same appliance, same issue 35 days after a repair person was unable to fix the issue. This is especially frustrating considering I have been out of town for many of the last four weeks and not using themachine. I hope you will reconsider your policy related to same appliance, same issue. Particularly when the repair person does nothing to address the issue.

I have had a contract with AHS for nine years. Service had always been excellent until my claim for a gas furnace filed in November 2021. I have talked with your service reps. It took until mid-December to get my furnace replaced. It was a frustrating experience . The techncian could not get a furnace. You can review the records. Even though this was not good overall AHS has been very responsive in the past.

I just recently in the last two months had a claim in for a nonworking shower. The tech came out and couldn't resolve the issue. They diagnosed it incorrectly and gave false information they got my claim denied. Second tech came out could not get the shower apart and again gave incorrect diagnosis. So it got my claim denied again so for two months I've been on the phone talking to 10 different customer care people they keep saying they're escalating it up the ladder and I never get a response. I am totally dissatisfied with the service that I have gotten and I am extremely fed up with making the calls daily talking to customer service reps from their home and not getting any positive responses. Follow up has been horrible.

As with any business, your experience is directly related to who you deal with. At first, their representative ignore my concerns and problems with their service technician. I was so mad that I called back to cancel my policy with AHS. The person who took that call was sympathetic to me not having heat in my home and scheduled a different company to look at my furnace. That second technician was excellent. So, in the end AHS redeemed themselves. But the reason they don't get a 5 star from me is because I shouldn't have had to go to that extent to get help.

Our freezer on our fridge stopped working on May 2, 2021. Tech after tech came out and could not pinpoint the issue. Instead of just replacing the fridge AHS just kept trouble shooting it. 8 months later we still do not have a working fridge and have just decided to take the $1600 cash value (AHS assigned value) for our fridge that cost over $3500. Not happy, they clearly do not stand behind their replacement guarantee but they are more than happy to keep collecting my monthly payment. I have asked numerous times for a supervisor to call me to discuss going 8 months without what I call an essential appliance but never once did I get a phone call. Once we receive our $1600 check I will most likely be looking for a new home warranty company.

The copay is 100$. My daughters plan is 60$. I didn't know that there was a home warranty plan that didn't cover basic appliances. My first claim was after 90 days and that is when I discovered that appliances weren't included unless upgraded (it was part of a home purchase, so I didn't select it). After 90 days, you cannot upgrade the plan. Also, a claim I put in for electrical wasn't covered (a secondary structure), and they wouldn't apply 100$ copay to a separate electrical problem, said it would be a different claim and a new 100$ copay would be required and the copay for the claim not covered, is non-refundable. When it's time to renew, I will be going with my daughter's company,Landmark Home Warranty

I was assigned a subpar electrician. I read reviews online about the company and over all this company had a very low rating and it wasn't just one customers review - it was all of them. One reviewer even called them a scam company that is contracted as a home warranty service provider. When I asked the rep to re-assign my request to a different company she said that it was the only electrician in my area. I live in Chicago - not a suburb but the city of Chicago. You are telling me that AHS only contracts with 1 electrician for the entire city of Chicago is outright lying. When I tolder her that I had a hard time believing that AHS only has 1 electrician for Chicago she reluctantly re-assigned my request to another company - which ironically- I had earlier in the summer and they were wonderful! The rep then told me that this would be the one and only time that AHS would change my service provider request. What customer service! I can't believe the amount of $ I pay on this home warranty every single month when I don't often have problems. Money In AHS' pocket and then I am treated like someone did me a favor? Awful!

I love the convenience and assistance. However, had a bad experience with a horrible plumber, who didn't even do proper diagnosis of our issue and left our property saying we need a new mainline. Now, I continue to receive mail from "Front Door" telling me MY request for a new mainline isn't covered by ASH. I NEVER asked for this, and I don't need a new mainline. Plumber was an incompentent lazy dude that didn't want to work and just walked off after not even being here for 2 minutes.

I had 2 service calls. The first one was for a garbage disposal which was replaced the day after I called. Great job! The second was for a cook top and oven. The repair company did a video call to check out the problem and get serial numbers. I didn't hear from anyone for 10 days. I called the vendor and they said they didn't work on that brand of appliance and I should call American Home Shield. No one ever called to tell me that. I have called AHS 3 x and talked with 3 different people. They all said they needed to talk to the vendor for a report. No one ever calls me back with an update and my oven and cook top still aren't working

the service we requested was very prompt (emergency heat), unfortunately our parts weren't so easy, but this was not the fault of the vendor or AHS. When the parts came in on a Friday mid-day, they went above and beyond and came out on Friday afternoon to restore our heat before the weekend! That's service and we appreciate it so much!

They do extremely well ( level 5) if the vendor has immediate access to any parts needed . But if vendor had to go to AHS for parts , the case turns instantly into a disaster . And I like AHS. The problem is AHS takes too long to find parts , too long to make a decision on rather to repair or replace , and there is no way to get to a representative who can actually make a decision. My recommendation is simple ( if implemented your business will double in 5 years. ) when AHS has to secure parts themselves or has to decide on whether to repair or replace , assign a specific agent to the case who works directly with the customer . I currently has a need for a part on Oct 29th , by the time AHS finally made some decisions, parts are expected in on November 18. In the meantime my heating system is down . I made at least 10 calls to AHS to have someone read me what I already know .

I have has AHS for several years. I have had multiple service calls over the years. The deductible is so worth it. It has paid for itself over & over. Each year, they seem to add more coverage. I can't recommend this enough!! Im not sure how homeowners can afford to be w/o it, or homeowners insurance should require it.

Repair on our washer went quick and very well. Repair on our refrigerator went on and on and on...almost 2 months. The appliance repair company kept sending AHS parts department the part information but the AHS parts department kept sending the wrong part. Appliance company was basically telling AHS the part no longer exists. Meanwhile, me and my family of 6 have been living out of a small apartment refrigerator we had to purchase. I talked to AHS reps multiple time and was promised call backs 3 separate times...each time there was no call back as promised. Then problem was elevated and a 'higher' level agent called me and left a voicemail on a Friday. Said she would call me on Monday...which did not happen either. Please, don't make promises you can't keep. Now, we finally have a cash option to replace our refrigerator but have to wait up to 21 days for the check to arrive. The fridge options AHS proposed in their email were NOT available in my zip code. We found the least expensive and best replacement option at Home Depot...so now we wait for a check.

My dryer stopped heating. AHS arranged for a service contractor, who quickly determined that the repair costs exceeded what was allowed. He recommended a new dryer, and within hours AHS had contacted me with replacement options. The new dryer has been installed, and I'm very happy with all aspects of this experience with AHS.

At times it takes a little longer to receive parts. Next I do not like the hold time when wanting to speak with a live person on the phone. Finally I have had to wait for months for them to fix or replace a hot water tank. They replaced most of all the broken parts on the water tank which took months until they couldn't find a part after that they finally replaced it. I felt that after they paid for all the parts and paid for the time they probably could have bought about 2 hot water tanks and I would have had hot water for those 2 months.

I like that I have a company that I can go to when I have a repair. But, you do not get a #1 rated company to come out to repair your problem. Second they never have the necessary parts available to fix your problem and then it takes days or weeks to fix your problem. When you're dealing with a refrigerator or washing machine that is really bad because this something you need to use every day.

I haven't called for an actual repair yet. Not sure what to expect. Technician was nice guy and said everything looked ok. No repairs were made and filters weren't dirty. But he said something could go wrong at anytime so I guess there is no such thing as "preventative maintenance" I have a different kind of filter that is electro magnetic he had not seen before. But I guess all was good.

My refrigerator has been not working right since July 15th. AHS has sent 3 different companies out trying to get it working. That last tech that came out was this month October. The refrigerator side was not staying cold it was hot, I lost all my food 3 different times. After the last tech came out and worked on it this month even the freezer side is not working. So I have been without a refrigerator since July 15th. And it's now late October. After the last tech that came out 3 times he said the refrigerator can Not be repaired. Now, I have been waiting on AHS to call me about getting another refrigerator.
